1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment in bitcoin on: April 28, 2023, 08:00:46 PM
Doesn't matter what you think. If you invest all your money into something, that's the trait of a gambler straightaway. No questions asked.
Let's not even talk about Bitcoin.. simply think what happens if you go all-in in anything in your life. Like spending all your money on an investment which has been providing good ROI in the past, does it guarantee you any future? No. That's my point.
I think you should get me right first, am not asking anyone to invest all their money, why will you invest all your money in bitcoin or other investments its really wrong, but if you are planning to make bitcoin investment, and you are having money which you can afford to lose, or any amount that if you invest it won't really affect you, then you can make investments all at once, I just hope you will understand me well, am not encouraging or advising anyone to invest everything they are having, it's really a bad idea.

Well, yes, that's why it's common to hear the phrase "only invest some funds that you can afford to lose" or any phrase which contains the same meaning because there are exactly no investments in this world that guarantees its positive outcome. Because if they were, it wouldn't be called as an investment after all, and we won't be hearing some terrible news about the people who lost a lot and was buried in debt after they poured all their resources on a single investment.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Bitcoiner still support the use of centralized exchanges? on: April 28, 2023, 07:10:13 PM
with DEX you know exactly what do you risk with
Then why so many people lose everything? Probably YOU know exactly the risks but many others don't. It's like people who wire money to perfect strangers: would you ever do it? I guess not. Everyone should know that, right? And yet, it keeps happening. Never take for granted that people always know what they're doing, you just need a second of distraction and even an expert can make a mistake, shit just happens.

Well, that's one of the downsides of using DEX. Anything can happen especially mistakes because we are only human beings bound to make some mistakes, but what if that certain mistake is just too much to carry with like sending some huge funds but to a wrong address? What I'm trying to say is that DEX is indeed a good exchange to use especially if we wanted anonymity but regarding about making some mistakes, I think it's still good to use CEX just in-case.
1203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: April 27, 2023, 07:39:37 PM
I believe it has been a tradition since the initial world cup to have the host qualify automatically.

I mean, can you imagine hosting an event in which you're not even participating?, doesn't seem too fair to be honest. The hosts need to put a lot of money and effort to make it happen, at a minimum they should qualify.

Your logic works when one or two countries are hosting the world cup. But it doesn't work when a large group of countries are co-hosting this tournament. And in 2030 it is going to be even worse. There is a combined bid from Uruguay–Argentina–Chile–Paraguay. If they succeed, then there will be 4 co-hosts and each one will qualify for the tournament automatically. And for all the other teams from CONMEBOL (including Brazil), only 2 spots will be made available for the 2030 World Cup. Do you really believe that this is fair?

I think there are a lot of considerations that had to be made that are not that obvious for us as outsiders to the topics of security, infrastructure, financial abilities and so on and so forth. I don't think that there hasn't been put a lot of thought into this decision. But I do get your point that this auto-qualification is a problem for some people, not for me though.

See, do you think that the host always has an advantage over all other participants? The biggest disadvantage is that the hosts don't have a lot of serious games with their national teams before the tournament actually starts. The qualification is still a good opportunity to find the right team for the right time. I am ok with the three nations already being qualified.

The bad thing about the 2026 world cup and even previous world cups is getting auto qualification when they host the world cup. I mean when they host the world cup they get some advantages, for example, they will have more visitors for their country and it helps the country financially while getting an auto qualification is not necessary and they should get qualified like other teams.

Actually, I looked it up to know what is the reason behind why does FIFA is giving the host(s) an advantage of having their team to be automatically qualify and honestly, I'm quite surprised to know the reason because FIFA said that it's just a courtesy, simple as that. Cheesy

Quite unfair, isn't it? But we can't do nothing about it as it turns out that it is already a tradition where the hosts will have that specific advantage apart from having a financial boost to their economy due to the people that will be flocking towards the host's country.
1204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 27, 2023, 05:12:43 PM
@bbc.reporter, this is a championship fight where Inoue is the challenger. I don't think a rematch clause is necessary unless both are champions. Maybe in favor of Fulton, if he loses, he could get a rematch since he is the defending champion. But if he wins here, then they will not fight again, unless Inoue improves and wins consistently and they will meet in a new division.

I'm just stating the possibilities, although most of us believe that Inoue will easily win this fight. But what if he loses?

At least we know what would happen in his future.

Good point. Inoue got nothing to lose here since he is just a challenger and doesn't have any belts that are situated at 122 as this is just his first fight since he climbed, so their camp doesn't really care for that clause, however, for Fulton's camp, they might secure a rematch clause in their contract because this is a big fight for them since he got 2 belts under his possession. Moreover, Fulton is with Al Haymon, so it's kind of their signature to have some precautionary measures in place.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: April 27, 2023, 04:42:20 PM
~
The man has so much money and fame and he continues to take part in these stupid drunk street brawls.
When stupid people who thinks that they can beat the shit out of professional fighters and then when they get reality check they file complaints expecting a big compensation and these are becoming common and you cannot expect Nate or Nick Diaz to be walking with security guards to get away from hooligans and this is the first time they are facing serious court time and hopefully they will be careful next time.

Nate Diaz really had a troublesome night at that time, even before that incident where he choked that Logan Paul look-a-like, he already had a close encounter while watching a fight with another man whom Nate throws a bottle of water with. I don't know what's up with the people these days because everybody is acting so tough without thinking the situation thoroughly.

Surely Nate Diaz can afford that compensation and will be free man afterwards, on the other hand, that Jake Paul look-a-like will carry the embarrassment of getting choked in the public all through his life which he literally brought that to himself in the first place.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 27, 2023, 03:58:21 PM
Hard to believe that the Bucs got eliminated, but Miami wasn’t the best team for them to match up against. I thought Bam had the best shot at containing Giannis. The East is up for grabs now. With the Warriors and Kings playing Friday along with the Lakers and Grizzlies, it looks like that will be a great night to watch some games.
Sure you're not the only one who's upset with them having to say goodbye to this season's playoffs. I was rooting for them to be one of those contenders to the finals but then, Heat has kicked them out.
Upset because we actually thought that the Milwaukee Bucks will be among the teams that will be a contender in the Conference Finals but not that kind of upset because the Heat eliminated them and will be the ones who will advance to the next phase. There's no doubt that the Miami Heat deserved that win because the Bucks didn't play well enough and certainly Giannis's injury won't be a reason as the Heat is also undermanned because they have their own share of injured players who even met a season ending injury.
1207  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: April 27, 2023, 08:24:16 AM
Yeah, a portion of my retirement funds. At such a stage you can't afford to be reckless, despite the trust btc has been able to achieve over the years there is still some level of risk,
If you are retired it means there is no other steady way to generate monthly income except you are able to invest your retirement fund wisely so you don't fall flat on your ass being careless.
So yeah, a small portion will be in btc and the rest will be in other investments that are less risky.
I would also love to invest a part of my retirement funds into bitcoin, maybe 25%-30% is reasonable enough. After all, it won’t matter as to how big you invest in it, it will eventually turns into a big investment if it’s value will grow consistently with the years passing by. The important thing here is you’re capable enough on how to handle a highly volatile and risky investment that could eventually create a life changing experience in your whole life. Well, all investments have its own risks, be it traditional or not, that’s why we have to invest with caution especially if those funds were our hard-earned from the start.
1208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you sell because of situations? on: April 26, 2023, 10:51:27 PM
This story is pathetic, the man who introduce me to bitcoin, his kid sis was knapped 2 weeks now and the kidnappers are asking for a huge ransom of  N10 Million Nigeria currency but the whole thing looks like a plan work from some people close to him because many people know him to be crypto dealer. Now this money is never available anywhere, the man's only option is to sell his bitcoin and even if he does is not up to the amount. Do you advise he sells and bail his kid sister?  Everybody is confuse.

Many things happens this days, putting you on a test! At what situations did you think you can sell your bitcoin and forget about bitcoin like it has never exist in your life. Knowing well the situation you're into many must have passed it and scale through without selling. What then will make you to sell even if the price is against you?

Regardless of the price, I think with this kind of situation, there’s no sense if you are still weighing things, if you will sell or not. As long as it concerns life over death, then it’s an automatic decision to save first the one that needs to be saved, even if it causing all your bitcoin to sell and leave you with nothing. What’s more important here is life over wealth and money. And I think a lot would agree to this.
1209  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner mistakes and how to avoid them on: April 26, 2023, 09:59:03 PM
For me, my advice to beginners is to trade in the long term and stay away from scalping until they have a good experience in trading.

Patience and not being greedy are also important tips. These negative traits are the main reason why many novice traders lose.

In any case, beginners should not enter into large deals at the beginning, and it is always better to enter with what they can afford to lose.
These are really useful tips. I believe if you are a good and successful trader, it means that you are trading following on the positive tips and never entertain those who only bring out negativity. By having patience and no amount of greediness, which means you separate your emotions when trading, that will help you to focus on your target in trading without being bothered by any negative emotions. Since trading is never easy, so you should learn to be more patient on whatever your trading outcome and always trade on a minimal amount, those are some way to help you stay in a safe zone.
1210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is important? Knowledge or Experience? Or both in Bitcoin Learning! on: April 26, 2023, 09:49:16 PM
Knowledge has just the same importance with experience, that’s why there should be both knowledge and experience if we want to learn the best with bitcoin and crypto market. Knowledge should be gained first, and when you are knowledgeable enough, everything you have in your knowledge should be put into practical application. That is where true learning takes place, one who can successfully use it in his experience.
1211  Economy / Economics / Re: SPENDING MORE THAN YOU EARN on: April 26, 2023, 09:30:28 PM
Learn to say “no”

This is something that you should really be minding or have this kind of behavior on which it is really better where you dont make yourself get easily tempted on buying things which you do see around. If its something that is beneficial then go ahead but its not something necessary then its better to skip out and avoid it.There are people who do have that good self control and discipline when it comes to things specially
if they are aware on how much they've been earning.

Spending something or an amount which is more than you do earn will really be putting you on huge debt and would really be having some financial problem which is something
that we do really need to avoid on or having this kind of behavior.
I have to agree with this. Never think that with money on hand, you can buy as much as you want without weighing things if they are really necessary or not. This is the reason why most of the people end up broke  because they tend to spend on the things that are not really useful in their lives, because they are influenced by some other buyers too, or they are tempted because it’s on sale. Remember to stick on your budget and on your budget list, and learn to say no for those who are not listed in your budget list.
1212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 25, 2023, 10:55:01 PM
Let's always take things as it were from each perspective, a normal gambling casino will never want to advise that gamblers should gamble with caution or responsibly.
It's your job as a player to gamble responsibly. All the casinos have to do is provide the necessary tools to achieve that and respect your decisions. The Curacao authorities aren't as strict as regulators from Malta or the UK, so who knows how much they pay attention to Responsible Gambling mechanisms. A quality casino does.

But a properly licensed casino allows you to self-exclude yourself and put various other restrictions on your betting account. That includes deposit limits, loss limits, time limits, etc. You can't lose if there are tools that prevent your from transferring more money than you configured.
Mostly, casinos will never care as to how much you had lose, as long as they’re making profits, that’s good for them. That’s the reason why gamblers should always play responsibly and with caution, so that in times where you see yourself consistently losing, then take a break and call it a day. After all, it’s only you who will suffer  in the future if you set gambling as your priority, so gamble less and enjoy more, and always bet only on the amount that you can manage to lose.
1213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 24, 2023, 09:27:00 PM

Not that hard enough to teach if it's Ryan Garcia because he's still young, I mean I know he can, it's just that he was too confident of his talent which is the lethal left hook because that is what made him reach this far until Gervonta Davis came to teach him some lesson that it's not all about talent. Boxers are expected to improve every fight but Ryan didn't, on purpose.

As saying goes, "hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard" and that's what happened to him on that fight.

I truly believe in that, and Gervonta Davis is like a big brother that teaches Ryan Garcia how it should be, so maybe it is a good thing that he lost this fight, some fighters could become a great boxers when dealing with this kind of lost, and Ryan Garcia could become a better fighter in the future, but surely if there are fighters recovering from certain losses there are some that don't and I really wish Ryan Garcia doesn't have a fragile mind and ego that will surely lost in this kind of lost,

Yes, I believe so too. The only remaining thing that needed by Ryan Garcia is to have defeat in-order to wake up from the harsh reality (which he got now) that he needs to wise up and man up because that left hook that he got that helped him to become what he is now will be nothing if he cannot hit the opponent with it. I mean, how could he hit them with it if he cannot even guard himself. At least he learned it on a much earlier stage and not when he's already hard enough to teach.
1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: April 24, 2023, 02:04:45 PM
Wow. I'm hyped. I've gotta give it to Jake as this is no easy fight and might even be tougher than Tommy Fury if I'm being honest.
I would have loved to see him fight another boxer and was hoping he'd fight another boxer again, but then again, there is more money coming in when fighting a popular retired MMA fighter than fighting a Boxer who isn't as well-known and as popular as Nate Diaz. that being said, I'm curious who'll win this fight.

I'm sure he will fight another boxer soon and I'm sure the Tommy rematch will happen eventually, but Jake would be wise to take some time off from that and get some training in so he can better himself to try beat Tommy. I think he could beat him but he'll need to get his boxing skills and IQ up otherwise Tommy will just outbox him again. Jake did get a knock-down but it was a light one but I don't think it's off the cards to get a proper KO and Jake probably has more chance of that than Tommy. Tommy will just probably try outbox him again and will know what to expect.
I do hope that he'll fight another boxer other than Tommy Fury, and as for Tommy vs jake paul rematch, I think it'll happen too, seeing that I've read an article before that Tommy is interested in fighting Jake Paul again to prove that he can properly beat him.

Tommy will just probably try outbox him again and will know what to expect.
yep, I agree and it's one of the best strategies there is when fighting someone who has less experience from fighting other boxers.

Now that Jake realizes he can't really win with a real boxer, it may take the time or he will not do it anymore. There is just no money from it. I think Jake has something to pay to Tommy yet, they did have a deal but of course, he may not honor it.

Old boxers I think could be his option, someone that is popular and in their early 50s and almost infirm to secure the win but fighting against retired MMAs is a money maker for him.

True and I echo you on that statement. Jake Paul can never win against a true boxer and sadly for him, he is just built for the aspiring MMA fighters who would like to test their fate and luck in the boxing industry. He can continue making professional boxing fights that looks like an exhibition fight because that's where he is good at, no need for him to show that he can be different because we already saw his limit against Fury.
1215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 24, 2023, 01:33:10 PM
Ryan received clean shots while Davis simply dodges his attack. Davis made him look like a rookie.

Doesn't need a rematch, Ryan is definitely not the kind that can defeat Tank. I rooted for him actually with a small amount expecting 3x lol But when I saw he fell in the 2nd round, the difference in points favors for Tank to win which Ryan will be daunted.  He still keeps launching though until the body shot.

Well, he just literally a rookie in-front of Gervonta Davis. I don't know what's with Ryan Garcia for being stubborn on learning that movement and defense techniques because I don't actually believe that he was not given the chance to learn it as it could've help him from the fights he had because boxing is not all about offense, it's also about defense. You know, even the stronger guys are doing everything they can to improve their defense as well as their chances in the fight, but here's Ryan Garcia who doesn't really care on doing it just because he got a good hook.
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 24, 2023, 01:15:09 PM

Draymond Green is returning after his 1 game suspension and will give them some defensive help inside. If 2 out of 3 players ( Steph / Klay / Poole ) make a good game shooting wise this will be a win for GSW.

I think it's gonna be a close game and I wouldn't wonder if it's open to the last shot. If the series returns to Sacramento being tied at 2:2 there might be a chance That the Kings are getting nervous. They are quite inexperienced in the playoffs and we all know what the GSW are, they are champions.

Wow, how right I was about this game. It was actually open until the last seconds. Also all 3 ( Curry, Thompson and Pool ) had ok shooting splits which secured the victory.

GSW taking a 10 point lead in the last quarter just to lose it within 3 minutes, what an exiting game this was.
Sacramento also deserved this win as they fought real hard in this one but the Warriors had the last laugh.

Game 5 will be interesting now. Will the Kings be able to stay strong at home or can the Warriors ride the momentum and overcome their problems in away games to steal this one?

By far this is the most interesting series to me in this season, it was nice to see some new faces again like the Sacramento Kings to actually give the defending champs a 0-2 run right from the start of their series. I was really surprised by that because they don't have that much experience compared to the Warriors but unfortunately for them, the Warriors bounced back after having 2 home games and tied their series.

Now if the Kings will carry on and eliminate the Warriors in the first round, I will bet on them until they reach the conference finals because if they can destroy the Warriors then I think they can destroy the remaining teams in the West now.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 24, 2023, 12:49:10 PM
It is possible for him to unify the belts in this division. If he will continue winning, he can challenge the other belt holder and unify everything at his age. He still got that winning capability.

I'm not sure if there will be a chance for Donaire to still unify "all the belts" at 118 lbs providing his current age and status.

Just for the record, since Naoya Inoue vacated all his Bantamweight titles, only 1 vacant title is fulfilled at this point, the WBA that is now being held by Naoya's younger brother, Takuma Inoue, just this month. The vacant WBC title, which will be contested between Donaire and Santiago doesn't have any official date yet. The vacant IBF Bantamweight title between Emmanuel Rodriguez and Melvin Lopez also doesn't have any official date yet. For the vacant WBO Bantamweight title, Vincent Astrolabio and Jason Moloney will clash next month. In some cases, these champions will have a mandatory title defense first before having a unification fight.

As for Donaire, I think he might get a chance to unify at least 2 belts between the ages of 41-42. After that, if he still continues winning, I don't know if he will still continue his boxing career to pursue the other belts in that division.

Anyways, just a speculation of mine about the chances of Donaire unifying all the belts since he is now 40 years old. It's not that boxers can settle and deal a fight at least twice a year. Time is running for Donaire if the goal is unifying all the belts although no harm in trying and that will be a record-breaking if happened.

I had the same thought that Donaire might be too late already to unify all the belts at 118 because time is not on his side anymore, even if we say 2 years from now, he will have successive wins on his fights, we all know that it's still not enough as there are other factors that will delay the time. And up until now, they haven't come up with a schedule so that means he wasting time again and then regarding his age, 2 fights per year will be his maximum.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 23, 2023, 08:27:24 PM

I am glad they showed sportsmanship in the end. Ryan congratulated Tank and he said he really respected him and that might be one of the reasons why he lose. He respected him too much, he said.
Both boxers did a good job by using social media as their promotion venue, I bet they made quite a lot of money because of that.

After all, this is all just a sports game and nothing personal because they get up there to show the world who's the strongest boxer that night and the result was amazing because as most fans expected it to happen. It's better luck next time for Garcia and he should probably fight some boxers that are not at Davis's level if he wanted to slowly recover and get back inside the ring with confidence after suffering from his first lost.

I'm curious now if Ryan Garcia will continue test his luck in super-light because it already seems that 130 pounds is not for him, because if he can't get through Davis then it is somehow assumable that he can't also defeat the current undisputed, Devin Haney and the guys under him. That was a good acid test for Ryan Garcia, he still deserve some credit because it's really not easy confronting the Tank Davis.

We can only praise him for his bravery. And while it seems there will be no rematch for him. It's too early to end his career so one option is just to do exactly like that. But now that it's seen how vulnerable he can be, he will be battered here and there.

He'd have to work out more because the door just opened. He will be tested in the heavier class, the real world awaits.

If it's about bravery then he truly deserved that praise because he fought Davis fair and square without any hint that he's afraid of the outcome. You're right, his path now will be more challenging because Davis exposed his weakness, Campbell might give the first hint but Davis is the one who totally laid it out to for the information of public and other boxers in the industry. He should be more prepared next time and improve whatever he lacks because he already have the much needed offense, time for him to reflect on his mistakes so that he can bounce back in his next fight.
1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 23, 2023, 06:17:02 PM
Dillon Brooks called for the Flagrant Foul 2 and was ejected from the game. The same as what James Harden did back at Brooklyn where he hit the balls of the defender, this time Brooks hit Lebron's important eggs too.  Grin Well, that's a good way to stop him from making 40 points in a game but in exchange for him being thrown out and not helping his teammates.
Ja Morant exploded in the 4th quarter but not enough to bring them back closer to tying or winning the game.

Lakers won!
Lebron James had 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. But the most effective player was Austin Reaves, he definitely played like it was a championship game hustling in both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. 13/6/2 It cannot be seen on paper but he did great today.

Yeah, we've seen the Austin Reaves is really a good catch for the Lakers this season. And almost all of there new players are contributing in this series against Memphis. Beasley though, seems to be off again although he has just been given a few minutes to play in this series.

AD another double double, he make it tonight for game 2 lackluster performance.

And I really like how Lebron takes the tempo in the 4th when they still have that lead and not allow Ja Morant to take over the game. Although Ja exploded with 45 points.

They still should give Beasley enough minutes per game to keep him heated as he is more likely to shut down if he can't get any enough minutes just because of his recent stats, that kind of trade is not that risky because the other players are doing everything they can. They just need to do some sacrifice for Beasley so that he can be more useful if they can reach further this playoffs season.

Austin Reaves though, this kid is so lowkey and underrated but he's very useful in both ends and I'd be upset if the Lakers will be cheap on him again because he deserved to have at least $50 to $60 Million 4-year contract regardless of whatever be the result of their campaign this post season. They are already lucky to have him in the team.
