641  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Experience becoming Binance P2P Merchant on: October 09, 2023, 09:55:16 AM
I'm really interested in this topic, so thanks for bringing it up. I understand that you're more focused on getting tips on how to make income as a merchant. Well, that's intriguing because personally, I'm always using Binance P2P to trade my coins, and I'm usually on the buyer's side, if that's the correct term. I trade my Bitcoin and altcoins for USDT and then transfer that USDT to my GCASH account.

So, I think it would be cool to explore the other side of the coin, so to speak. But before diving in, I'd like to know the potential for profit and what kind of capital range is necessary to earn a decent profit.

So, for those of you with experience, could you please share your knowledge for free? Much appreciated! 😄
642  Other / Meta / Re: harizen - ban appeal on: October 08, 2023, 04:48:27 AM
Damn that sucks OP. Imagine one day logging in and in the last few hours a lot has happened... Account got hacked, post some malware and got banned by the mods. I think I have seen some other user in kind of situation before. His appeal fell on deaf ears/ or blind eyes.
I hope you manage to recover your account, OP.

Just out of curiosity, is there any member in a similar situation who has ever managed to recover his account and get unbanned?

Yes, there is one, My Account - LogitechMouse has been hacked and locked.

Similar in nature, hacker didn't change the password, but instead posted some malicious links and someone caught it, reported his account and the recovery team was able to get it back for him.

Just scary though, I mean I thought that this hacking of accounts here has been reduced since the introduction of merits as it's useless to hack someone and used or sell it. But the criminals have evolved as well, not to change the password as not to aroused suspicions and instead try to PM or create a thread that has some malware on it.

I'm confident that the account of Harizen will be recovered, he is a valuable member of the forum so I think he'll be considered. Judging on the case of LogitechMouse, the recovery period was only 8 days, or less than 2 weeks, so hopefully soon we wil see some good news coming from Harizen's account saying "hey I'm back" kind of deal.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 08, 2023, 01:56:14 AM
Sometimes, forum members can come across as pretty tough in their responses, but honestly, they're just trying to guide, not spoon-feed the newbies. It's like they're saying, 'You've got to learn, but don't talk too much, just ask when you're really stuck,' you know what I'm saying?

The reality is, we're on a forum, and it's a melting pot of opinions and people. Newbies looking for help or advice should try not to be too sensitive, just focus on getting what they need. Brush off the harsh words and cherish the helpful ones – it's as simple as that.

harizen - ban appeal

I can vouch for Harizen as one of the reputable users in our local community, so I was surprised that his account was banned. I'm sure the account was compromised. Hopefully, @kabayan, you will be able to get some help to recover your account. I'm following this thread, so I can also get some insight into the current situation. If it's resolved, at least it will give us an idea on how to recover our accounts if they're compromised.

I will post the situation in our local community. Perhaps you'll also receive some advice from users there.
646  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitMEX founder projects $750,000 to $1 million #Bitcoin price by 2026 on: October 06, 2023, 03:59:58 PM
Anything could happen with Bitcoin. It has a limited and fixed supply, so the price could grow depending on demand. A $1 million price target is still realistic, considering that in the past, people couldn't imagine Bitcoin going from $1 to $10,000, but it happened. So, I wouldn't question that prediction, especially when more people are bullish about Bitcoin's future.

What we need now is to drive a bullish market. Although there have been some minor runs, we still cannot confirm if we are already in a bullish period. Perhaps after the halving occurs, since it's usually a driving factor for a bullish market.

Achieving $1 million in less than 2 years would be awesome. I hope we won't be tempted to sell when it reaches half of that price.

Congratulations, Gilas Pilipinas! We got the gold.

Such a great game by Gilas. It wasn't all about Brownlee tonight; it was a total team effort. What I like about Gilas here is the defense.

Coach Tim Cone, the best coach in Asia. I'm just so happy tonight. FINALLY!
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today in history: The first recorded Bitcoin exchange went live on: October 06, 2023, 06:25:52 AM
Man, it's crazy to think that Bitcoin was practically given away back then. If only we could hop in a time machine and spend our $1 wisely, right?

I mean, just picture it. With that $1, you'd have snagged 1309.03 BTC, which is worth a whopping $35,989,089.79 today! I'd be out there retiring early, living the dream. Haha, it's all daydreaming, but I'm sure most of us have had those thoughts, especially now that we can see the price.

Hats off to those early investors who've managed their money wisely. They've got quite the retirement fund now!
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 06, 2023, 05:22:48 AM
Shitcoins are scam coins, and of course, you should stay away from them. It's a big gamble if you invest in them. The strategy is to get in early and get out at the right time, but since they're scams, there's a higher chance of losing money.
Yes, it's true, the big bet for beginners in the crypto field is investing in shitcoins. but on the other hand, if these beginners invest in shitcoins, it is not only a big risk but also stupidity or negligence in choosing investments. Maybe if beginners read these posts they will think twice as hard about where they choose to invest.

once again, if you want to start investing, start by investing in bitcoin, nothing else. Learn first before falling for their promotion. Affiliates will definitely continue to look for effective promotional methods so that you fall for their bullshit. But also remember that everything called investment, especially in crypto, definitely has different risks, so please choose your own risk, bro.

Well, the moment you dive into Bitcoin, it can feel like a rollercoaster, right? I like your idea of suggesting people to stick to Bitcoin because it's a safer bet, but there's something else to consider, and that's our target profit. If we're aiming for a big return, like 100 times or more, putting all our eggs in the Bitcoin basket might not be the answer. I believe there are some good altcoins out there. Some projects are legit, and it's not fair to lump them all into the 'shitcoin' category. Some developers are genuinely trying to help the market grow with their legit projects.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 05, 2023, 03:25:21 PM
No room for the faint-hearted in the gambling world, you know? Those folks are why gambling gets a bad rap in the community. They dive in without realizing the risks they're taking with their money. Sometimes, when desperation kicks in, gamblers get a bit delusional. The reason that lady was crying? She's all about the win, not seeing the bigger picture. If she tried her luck in the investment world, she'd probably fall for a scam and end up in tears. Hopefully, she can come to terms with the losses and move forward.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 05, 2023, 01:25:55 PM
The odds for Philippines vs Jordan for the game tomorrow @8:00 PM is already out.

You can see the odds ; https://sportsbet.io/sports/basketball/international/asian-games/matches

Philippines 3.30 (+7.5)
Iran 1.30

This is the last game for the Philippines. I think we should at least bet on this game and forget what happened during the quarter-finals when the Philippines had a meltdown against Jordan. And yes, the Philippines will seek its revenge, so I think the moneyline is quite attractive.

If I recall correctly, the moneyline odds against China were even bigger, as they were +10 underdogs.

That must be Jordan mate, not Iran hehe.
Yeah, my bad, I mistyped it as I was thinking about how Gilas beat Iran. I also read an article at that time about Iran complaining that our national team has 3 naturalized players; he must have mistaken CJ Perez as one.

I'm fortunate enough that have pushed the bet button early as I still got the Gilas +10.5 @2.05, now the odds are shifting towards Gilas but I think not to the extent that they would be the favorites to win the Finals tomorrow.

They made it against the host country, China last night and I would not be surprised that coach Tim Cone and his Gilas wards would be holding the championship trophy when the final buzzer sounded.

Good for you, it's really expected that the line will move in favor of the Philippines due to their impressive performance against China. Although many would say that Justin Brownlee carried them, if you look at how the Philippines defended, you will see that teamwork was a big factor in that success.

Just choose Bitcoin if you don't want to risk failure again. Bitcoin, often referred to as the father of crypto, may not experience the dramatic price spikes of x100 or x1000, but at least its price tends to rise steadily and slowly, which is safer compared to investing in shitcoins that are likely to deplete your funds.

If you're interested in investing in altcoins, you might find some with potential for a 100-times return, but based on the historical performance of altcoins, the chances of success are very low, probably lower than 5%.

654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will the Gambling Sportybet (Company) Refund the Money? on: October 05, 2023, 09:12:43 AM
Regardless of whether you are underage or not, the fact that you agreed to the terms implies that you met those requirements. Asking for a refund because the money was supposed to be for school fees is amusing. That's why kids are not allowed to gamble; they often don't handle losses well, but when they're winning, they might think they have superpowers.

Even if an underage individual complains that the casino accepted bets from minors, it's hard to beat them, as they know what they are doing. They are in the business and are well-prepared for these kinds of tricks.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 04, 2023, 10:03:36 PM
Move on, my friend. It's never too late. You were presented with the opportunity, and yet you didn't grab it. Actually, it's understandable, as it was still a gamble at that time. What if Bitcoin turned out to be a failure? Then you should not be regretting. Just do what you can do now; it's never too late. The market is still here, Bitcoin is still here, and it does not stop at the current price.

I'll tell you, why not accumulate now and save it for the next bull run? For sure, you'll enjoy a decent profit. Or try to train yourself to be a day trader. That way, you can seize opportunities regularly, as the market is still highly volatile.
That is exactly right, there is not such a thing as being too late, bitcoin still has a lot of potential and while it is impossible to buy bitcoin for a few cents and then sell it for thousands of dollars, there are still good profits to be had for those that are patient enough to get them, still it is better that a person is not completely motivated by the money, because if they are, then it is going to be difficult for them to hold their coins to obtain the profits they are looking for.
That is not a problem anymore if an investor has a proper investment plan. Let's say an investor plans on buying $100,000 worth of bitcoin, and the goal is to sell it when it reaches a value of $1 million. Then there's nothing to do after buying but just to hold the bitcoins.

It's only hard if that money is not fully allocated for investment purposes only, as an investor might be tempted to sell it when unexpected financial emergencies occur. This is usually the reason why we deviate from our investment strategy. Emergency funds should be separated from investment funds so that things will go smoothly.
656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoin and forget the investment on: October 04, 2023, 02:36:10 PM
I can't forget my investment; we're not in the early stage anymore. When we try to invest a decent amount of money at this time, don't expect that it will increase a hundred times in 5 years or less, as what happened in the past. We are in an era where Bitcoin is not the only coin; we also have altcoins that could gain attention from investors. Maybe let's try to be realistic: invest now and earn a decent profit, and forget about crazy profits. Lastly, always set your target.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 04, 2023, 02:01:51 PM
Final score 77-76, Gilas going to the Finals, congrats and thanks to Brownlee for his clutch 3 point shots.

I can't believe what I saw. Justin Brownlee took over the game and wasn't afraid to take 3-point shots. He was perfect despite the defense of China being so focused on him. Without Brownlee, Gilas would easily lose. Now, there's no debate about who fits better on the team. It's JB, not JC.

Meanwhile, with this win, Gilas will be facing Jordan in the finals. It's a rematch where Gilas lost by a huge margin in the 4th quarter, but that shouldn't be the barometer for this game. Gilas knows how to come back, and that's important.

All I can say is that I enjoyed the game, and I'd like to say good luck in advance in the finals. Hopefully, we will get the GOLD.

659  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I need a mentor in my bitcoin journey. on: October 03, 2023, 01:52:39 PM
I have made a bold decision to start my bitcoin journey. But just like every a new born baby needs close care and attention to grow I really don't want to make a mistake in any thing I am doing. I have this question to ask.
''Is it advisable to to have a mentor who I can always go to as a newbie in the crypto space or I should rely all my knowledge on things I read online for my growth.

I started with no mentor, and I became profitable investing in Bitcoin. So, I can say that there's no need to have a mentor. Self-study is what we should do. At least we don't need to spend; instead, we can use that money as capital for investing or trading. Try to learn the basics first, understand what Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are overall. You need to understand the risks so you'll be able to handle them effectively and learn how to minimize the risk.

There's no overnight success here, so be patient and keep learning. Eventually, when you really have the skills, profit will just follow.
660  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: October 03, 2023, 10:25:41 AM
Education makes a person better; that's very basic. However, getting a degree means you add another layer of knowledge, which can give you a better advantage over your competitors who don't have a degree. However, do consider the country you are living in, as the economy of a country can significantly affect how valuable your degree is.

For example, if you are living in a poor country, it's presumed that the unemployment rate is high. Even worse is if underemployment is also prevalent, as this would make your degree less valuable due to few jobs created but many people with degrees looking for employment.

Based on my personal experience, I find it more ideal to start a business than to look for a job due to the income difference, though the former may seem riskier. On the other hand, if you still want to use your degree, it's better to go overseas and work in countries where salary rates are good, so at least you can be justified for the hard work you put into earning your degree.
You appear to believe that a degree is only a "extra layer" of education. Cute. There is more to a degree than just a piece of paper. It serves as proof of one's dedication, discipline, and perseverance.
I don't know if what I said was the proper term, but I just want to emphasize based on the situation of OP where he lives in a country where the salaries are not good. For me, having a degree gives you an edge over others who don't, but it still does not give you the satisfaction of earning because the overall economy of the nation is struggling.

You can be a doctor in a poor country, but you are earning just like a janitor in a rich country. That's simply what I'm trying to say.

How does a nation's economy impact the worth of a degree, then? Okay, that makes sense. What if earning a degree has benefits that goes beyond finding employment? What if the goal is to advance personally, network, and broaden one's outlook?
I was referring to the value of money or salary when I said 'worth' because the topic was about money earned as a salary. In terms of the purpose served, of course, a degree holder can do the job, but the salary is not worth it.

Creating a company rather than hunting for employment? Yes, if you have the resources, the concept, and the guts. Keep in mind, though, that not everyone is made out for the world of entrepreneurship. Going abroad, too? It is not an easy task. There are many difficulties associated with moving abroad, including culture shock, homesickness, and settling in. However, if you believe you have it figured out, then by all means, bravo.

When you are planning to create a company or start a business, which is specifically what I said, it doesn't require a lot of money. Anyone can do it from the very beginning with a small capital. I'm suggesting to be more practical and forget about a degree when you are still complaining about what you earn or if you see that businessmen earn more money compared to people who are employed.
