561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: November 09, 2023, 12:49:38 PM
But how most newbies are coming is they see random YouTubers saying bitcoin will reach this much in the next 6 months so buying bitcoin will not make them as an investor but simply they are forced to influence by someone without knowing what they are about to invest.

That's the usual hype when the market goes bullish. It's why so many people fall into FOMO, thinking Bitcoin will bring them quick and hefty returns in no time. But without the right investment strategy, we won't make money during a bull market. We often fail to make the right move because of our own greed. Sometimes, we hold onto assets even when we've already made a decent profit because we keep thinking 'more.'

That kind of mindset can lead to regrets in the end. We need to be clear about our goals, whether it's for the long term or short term, as each requires a different investment approach.

I can only imagine success if i make a lot of money in gambling, I mean a lot because it's something unachievable for most gamblers.
Imagine that, if you are one of the successful gamblers, that only means you have an exceptional talent that you can capitalize to make a living in gambling.
That only means success in gambling and that's when you make a lot of money. There's no other form of success in here, you enjoy? If you find that successful, that's not the goal of most gamblers.

It's always been winning and making money from those wins that you've made. The reason for one to consider that he's successful in gambling when did a lot of money.
We need to be practical here. Who would be happy when we're losing in gambling? Most of us aren't wealthy; we earn just enough, and it would be a big help if we could consistently win in gambling. Maybe the rich folks who can afford to splurge in Vegas find it fun, but not us.

For us, winning equals enjoyment, and that's where the real fun and happiness in gambling come from.

For newbies, they can do that out of luck and even the oldies. But we have to embrace the reality that going to that point even for the older ones is like a hard thing to be made because the ratio of winning and losing in gambling has always been not the same.

Yeah, absolutely! That's why they say the majority loses in gambling, which means not everyone, so there's still a chance for us to win.
563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 09, 2023, 07:09:19 AM
Being patient and consistently involved in healthy gambling habits will surely make you a successful gambler.
Do you mean a gambler should be successful in gambling? It is good to be patient while gambling and it is good to also follow the rules for you not to be addicted or lose too much money, but gambling is not where we should think about success.

All that discipline and good attributes needed are useless if it will not gather a positive end result.

Personally, I limit my bets to no more than 10 percent of my bankroll per day, I stop once that limit is reached.
My gambling budget is 5% weekly. From the 100% I earn weekly, I used 5% or less to gamble if I have time to.

Our budget or what we call bankroll in gambling could vary, but there are rules in bankroll management which OP mentioned, as for himself, it's 10% of his total bankroll daily, so if he would be in a losing streak, at least he would last 10 days.

Personally, I don't limit my gambling activities in a day, but at least 3% of my total bankroll is the percentage I wager in every bet.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: investing plan on: November 09, 2023, 06:17:09 AM
Hello Community,

I have 1500$ and i want to invest it crypto as holdings. What do us suggest invest it all on BTC or alts? Thanks

If you want to minimize the risk, consider putting all your investment into Bitcoin and holding it for the long term. Of course, there's a saying, 'Don't put all your eggs in one basket,' but since the majority of altcoins are not very reliable, it might be better to go all-in on Bitcoin.

That $1500 you have could potentially grow significantly, especially with the upcoming halving and the expected bull run based on its historical trend. Bitcoin might even reach a new ATH and could go as high as $350k. It might seem too optimistic for now, but once we're in the midst of a bull run, people tend to forget about ceilings and just want to keep pushing Bitcoin higher. You know, when FOMO kicks in, prices can skyrocket.

If you are holding a precious asset like bitcoin, you should know the drill, keeping your those important details should be your priority.

Personally, I don't even let people know that i'm investing into bitcoin as we never know what people would think of.

Honestly even my close relatives don't know about it, I just keep my journey in crypto very private because i don't want poeple to be asking me about what I'm doing, and I don't want them to think that I'm rich because their impressiion when someone is into investing in bitcoin, the person is rich, being quite makes it safe for me as we are dealing with money anyway.
566  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 08, 2023, 03:21:20 PM
I want to know about the cost of living and average income in each country. Can I ask that here?

For comparison, may I ask how much a standard meal in your country costs for one meal?
one meal per one person probably around $2,  you can eat in a restaurant, or you can cook, that's just my minimum estimate that a person could at least eat a decent meal.

Quote
what is the standard food menu?
Fish Tinola I guess, or fried fish. I use fish because it's the cheapest and more delicious than just eating vegi. No offense to vegitarians here.  Smiley

Quote
What is the average monthly and annual income in your country? Please those who answer can use calculations in USD
Around $250 per month. Though having a salary like that can still be considered poor but enough to survive as long as you know how to manage your finances, you know, like prioritizing your needs and not getting much loans.

567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not perfect, and that's okay. on: November 08, 2023, 02:52:13 PM
The world is not perfect either, so there's no such thing as perfect.

What makes bitcoin popular is it's usefulness to us, maybe not for everyone but those who have adopted it either for regular transactions purposes and for investment purposes. Maybe one of the many you mentioned which is this one "The bitcoin market is too volatile and unstable"... can be change in the future, and that is if there's a massive adoption that bitcoin is accepted anywhere and goverment has already clear rules about crypto industry as a whole.

Hopefully in the future we can say that bitcoin is not perfect but it made us rich.  Grin
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know about the first public servant paid in bitcoin ? on: November 08, 2023, 11:58:41 AM
His name was Tony Vaughn and he was from Kentucky. He was paid his salary in bitcoin in 2013 , at time when very few even heard about bitcoin. If he would have not sold those bitcoins that he got as salary, he would might have been a billionaire by now. Because bitcoin price at that time was just $1000 a piece , so his wealth would have been about 30 times at current prices.

Based on my computation, he would not become a billionaire, proabably a millionaire.

I dig a bit and look for his name, there was an article that was dated 2013 reported about him getting paid in bitcoin as his salary. So if he continues receiving it, that's 10 years already. But let's judge it based on the fitures, not sure if the salary rate is correct but based on this article below., the "Chief Of Police Salary in Kentucky" is around $80k per month, I rounded it off.

So $80k x 10 years, that's only 800k which is less than a million, so even if we will multiply that by 30 times, that would only reach up to $24 million which is already overstated, so that "billion" never exist.

570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to start betting on sports? on: November 07, 2023, 04:12:17 PM
I not sure Al can give good predictions in sports betting and relying too much on Al is also not recommended because it can't give us more experience in predicting matches.
Maybe Al can help make it easier to have more information, but in making predictions you don't only need information.

I'm sure AI won't be able to help us win in sports betting. It's a prediction game, and statistics alone as a basis are not enough to win. There are plenty of factors to consider, and even the analysis of an AI may be wrong if it only gets information that is not updated. So, let's stop hoping it will help us win one day. All it can do is provide statistics; the crucial part, which is to analyze that information, should be done by sports handicappers, that's us.

572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s your strategy on high volatility slot game? on: November 06, 2023, 01:15:29 PM
In this type of game, we need to adopt a short-term strategy to increase our chances of winning. With the house edge, the longer we play, the greater the likelihood of losing. So, if we're fortunate, we should be more aggressive with our betting but also maintain the discipline to stop when necessary. This game primarily relies on luck; we don't employ skills but rather exercise discipline in betting, knowing when to stop when we're already in a profitable position.
573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fund for Bitcoin promotion on: November 06, 2023, 12:27:26 PM
Is there some group which collects funds for Bitcoin promotion? If some group like this can create advertisements for Bitcoin, more people can become aware. Such mediums should be targeted which have reach on audience that is still not familiar with crypto.

It's not needed anymore because Bitcoin isn't a company. We are part of the ecosystem, and its demand will naturally make it popular. The idea of decentralization means that we, the users, essentially own the network. We don't have to promote it as big companies would. When they see people using it, they'll be the ones advertising it.

Additionally, the growing bull market is one of the reasons why Bitcoin will remain popular. So, there's no need to worry. Let it grow naturally through increased adoption.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conclusion after losing millions! that games are rigged. on: November 03, 2023, 11:00:43 PM
What can you expect to hear from a guy who's lost millions in gambling? Even if the system is proven to be fair, a statement from a gambler who's lost a significant amount of money could be biased because it's driven by frustration.

Consider this simple logic: If a gambling site were rigged, why would a gambler risk millions on it, along with other gamblers? His statement should not be taken too seriously; he might just be venting his emotions and could return to gambling once he's in a calmer state of mind.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to start betting on sports? on: November 03, 2023, 10:35:05 PM
I am thinking to start betting on sports because I think it is fair then other games and there I should be able to control my hands which I could control while playing games like dice, plinko, mines, etc.

Welcome to the club! However, don't completely abandon your old favorites. Instead, focus more on sports betting, as many of the games you've been playing have a high house edge. If you want to make a career out of gambling, sports betting may be a better option.

I want to know how can i start betting on sports and start making good profits, <<<>>>

The first bolded point is simpler to understand. You can learn how to bet on sports by searching online for articles and watching YouTube videos. But the second point is something that you have to figure out on your own. You need to self-study and achieve it by yourself, as no gambler can guarantee a profit, even those who have been betting on sports for decades.
576  Economy / Economics / Re: AI will put an end to work, says Elon Musk on: November 03, 2023, 04:37:48 PM
Elon Musk owns an AI company, xAI, that is competing with big AI firms like OpenAI, Google and Anthropic.

That's quite biased coming from him, as he would naturally have a positive view of his project since he owns an AI company. While we can't deny that AI can handle tasks that don't require human involvement, it's unlikely to completely replace people in the workforce. However, we need to embrace these changes and the best approach is not to complain, but to enhance our skills so we aren't left behind in terms of opportunities, because AI is capable of handling some of our tasks.

We appreciate that AI is making our work easier. However, we may not be aware that if we rely entirely on AI, it could replace our jobs. So, even though Elon's statement might be exaggerated, we should think about this chance. We need to find ways to avoid negative consequences when AI becomes more prevalent.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between crypto gamblers - regular gamblers on: November 03, 2023, 03:29:57 PM
I don't see a huge difference between crypto casinos and regular gamblers who use fiat casinos. When it comes to games, if blockchain is involved, fiat casinos can't compete. However, the biggest games in the crypto gambling industry still come from sports betting, if I'm not mistaken. They offer the same types of games as fiat casinos, but the difference is that in crypto casinos, we can maintain our privacy as they don't require gamblers to comply with KYC directly. They also allow gamblers from countries that are banned by fiat casinos. So when it comes to convenience, I'd choose crypto casinos. However, in terms of security, I think fiat casinos have the upper hand.
578  Other / Meta / Re: Signature campaign as a creation of bitcointalk on: November 02, 2023, 04:00:29 PM
I only know about Cryptotalk. It's a campaign that was run by Yobit before.
This part of your answer is irrelevant too.

Cryptotalk runs its signature campaign in Bitcointalk through Yobit team, it is correct but, a big but, it was hosted in a last bear market, in 2019. I am sure you are here long enough to know Bitcointalk had signature campaigns years before 2019.

CryptoTalk.Org Signature Campaign [Yobit Panel].

It was the answer to OP's question.

So, apart from here in bitcointalk, has any other forum or website adopted the signature campaign system of advertisement?
Does theymos have a patent for signature campaign such that no other forum can replicate what is happening here without his permission.

I only know about Cryptotalk. It's a campaign that was run by Yobit before.

And you also see the reply when a member ask if he could run a signature campaign in cryptotalk forum.

https://cryptotalk.org/topic/367150-signature-campaign/
https://cryptotalk.org/topic/363807-%F0%9F%9F%A5bounty%F0%9F%9F%A5-solarblox-crypto-solar-mining-250-000-sbx-escrow-%F0%9F%A4%91-signature/ ( their bounty section I guess).

So, what happened at that time was that Cryptotalk ran a signature campaign on Bitcointalk to promote their website. They also had a signature campaign on their own website.
579  Other / Meta / Re: Signature campaign as a creation of bitcointalk on: November 02, 2023, 03:44:17 PM
It is not an invention of Bitcointalk.
I don't know who your manager is, but I hope he doesn't pay you to write posts on page 1 without reading the comments.
Chill dude, the guy isn't even wear a signature Grin

Freedomgo doesn't wear a signature? I think I'll edit the last sentence to make it clear amidst all the quotes. Although I think it was pretty clear from the context, if you read it carefully. First I tell Freedomgo that he hasn't read the comments, then I put the comments he hasn't read and finally I tell him that I hope his manager doesn't pay him to write without even reading the comments on the first page.

Sorry about that, I was just under the expectation that OP himself knows what he was saying below.

Do you know that Signature Campaign is an invention of bitcointalk.org?
I didn't know before now. I had thought that signature campaign is something that has been in practice even before creating the bitcointalk forum.

I might have rushed to share my opinion because I thought it was true. It seems that the OP might be spreading false information, but perhaps he/she didn't do enough research, just like I didn't when I replied. I got excited about it without reading all the comments first.

Come on, the way he started his sentence makes it sound really convincing. It wasn't even a question; it was more like a conclusion.

Do you know that Signature Campaign is an invention of bitcointalk.org?
I didn't know before now. I had thought that signature campaign is something that has been in practice even before creating the bitcointalk forum. But I was surprised to discover otherwise. I searched the internet for ways to earn bitcoin. Many blogs including binance news acknowledged that signature campaign is a means to earn bitcoin and it was started or it is exclusive for bitcointalk forum. Even 99bitcoins said a similar thing.
I didn't know that the forum signature campaign originated on Bitcointalk. It's a bit conflict of interest in their business because they also have their own advertisements. In a signature campaign, advertisers don't pay Bitcointalk; instead, the campaigners and their managers are the ones paid. Yet, Bitcointalk allows it because it brings in more users, which increases site traffic. It was a smart move.

This is nice to know that apart from the Bitcoin - Pizza event, HODL typo error incident, there are other things that emanated from the bitcointalk forum.
I can't compare these two things. The pizza event in the past became widely popular worldwide, while the signature campaign is known to only a few people.

So, apart from here in bitcointalk, has any other forum or website adopted the signature campaign system of advertisement?
Does theymos have a patent for signature campaign such that no other forum can replicate what is happening here without his permission.
