Oh man, I get it now. You are mats new account. Exact same spiel.

Nah. He's far too clubbable and lacks the victimisation to be anywhere near being him.

Who's mats?
How did he end up?

He's famous in these parts for being in BTC at $10.

And spending it all on drugs.

And then since then hasn't had the best trading record. I find him interesting to read but at his peak he would come out with a worthwhile nugget followed by torrents of pointless abuse.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1442399.0  that's his current main thread.
12122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 07, 2017, 01:02:11 PM
I swear to the bible and other holy things that I quited trading for good. Its just not possible anymore because of all those idiots who are destoying my calculations and math with 1 single FUD or hype post. I cant fight it anymore.

I long ago figured out it was all outrageously rigged bilge. It'll be fun to see what factoids come out in the years to come from people with no more skin in the game. It may make for very enlightening and even more appalling reading.

Little or no mention of this? Bitfinex suing Wells Fargo for USDT silliness. I can't say it was an idea that I would've entrusted a vast amount to.
12124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin AND the Altcoins are moving up.. Pushing ATH's for global CC markets.. on: April 07, 2017, 12:36:23 AM
I think it is a sign that other useful altcoins have emerged, and that do things bitcoin does not so I don’t see too much of a problem with that but I agree that something must be done to try to keep the leadership of bitcoin in the world of crypto.

Nope. Pump as usual, albeit a genuinely huge one. Some have already lost half or more of their valuation compared to a few days ago.

Of all alts the only possibilities of actual usage in the near future, and I don't count XRP as an actual cryptocurrency, are LTC with Openbazaar coming on board and no doubt a few more and ETH, though the likelihood is that the real usage will come from something that lifts ETH's code and does something private with it.
12125  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: lending on poloniex and bitfinex on: April 06, 2017, 11:02:24 PM
In their defense, they offered up repayment for all users affected through their coins. And just the other day announced that they are doing a full buyout of those coins. So they've done a good job at handling the situation -- far better than most.

Absolutely. It was handled with class but who knows what's around the corner? I presume they make enough in fees to cover a lot of eventualities but not all of them.
12126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: it is Core, not Bitman blocking segwit on: April 06, 2017, 09:26:33 PM
no great reveal...just more propaganda.

Ach, I really don't give a shit any more. Everyone from every angle is becoming equally tedious.

I'm off to invent a tiny brain that lives in a box that out mines everything else on Earth by a factor of 1 billion and then I'll toss a coin as to which version I prefer.
12127  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 06, 2017, 09:24:37 PM
I think nothing can stop bitcoin now. I surrender. I already said that i never go into fiat again but now i also never go into altcoins again.

Are you willing to swear on the bible, or a copy of The Incal over that? I'm willing to guess this feeling will hold until you wake up and start moving your winkle around.
12128  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are we brainwashed? on: April 06, 2017, 09:22:06 PM
Its a gradual process, An example is homosexuality, Most tv shows and movies have gay characters in them, They want us to see it as a normal thing to the extent that we may accept is as a norm in our society but that aint gonna happen.

There are enough gay people out there that it certainly should be accepted as a norm. They're not going anywhere and I don't think they could change even if they wanted to.

As for the OP, I know some people. I can't really think of a single one who qualifies as a zombie or a mindless consumerist and they all have plans but perhaps I'm sheltered.

The internet is the great unknown. So many young minds are still forming that have never known anything else. I really do not think it's a very healthy thing so be surrounded by for your entire youth. Give it another couple of decades and things will be clearer, and probably more depressing.
12129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core Runs “Trolling Campaigns”, Says Lightning Network Developer on: April 06, 2017, 09:12:45 PM
Is there anyone or anything who isn't trolling? Am I trolling myself? I must say though that them recruiting that 444 fella is pretty pathetic. He was intolerable when he wasn't getting paid, though I find it hard to believe he wasn't always getting paid.

If Bitcoin had a will of its own I think it might lock out every single human and tell them to climb a few mountains, or dig wells in Africa and come back in a few months with some perspective.
12130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: it is Core, not Bitman blocking segwit on: April 06, 2017, 08:53:16 PM
Core won't even compromise to 2mb/segwit, which
probably could get consensus.

Erm, I thought the great reveal of the last couple of days was Segwit nullifying Bitmain's advantage. I don't know how recently this advantage was discovered and put into action but that explains plenty of recent attitudes.

12131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to the good old days of bitcoin? on: April 06, 2017, 06:29:40 PM
I'm just as riveted as I've ever been, perhaps more so. We're either on the verge of greatness or pissing every last drop up a wall.

12132  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Heroin? Cocaine? Weed? on: April 06, 2017, 06:25:43 PM
I'm not sure "all" drugs should be legalized

There are already too many people hooked on opiates like vicodin, oxycontin, morphine... which leads to heroin once their prescription runs out... also bad

Decriminalised at least. And I'd be very surprised if someone's mother switched from Vicodin to lying in her own faeces injecting heroin. They have that legit sheen to them.

The prime example is Elvis who was rabidly anti drugs yet took more than anyone, but it was OK because those ones were legal.

ETC moon. Thats all you need to know.

Previous calls, please. Serve up successful predictions that came true.
12134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: changing the whitepaper? on: April 06, 2017, 05:17:04 PM
isn't this old?
i swear i heard about this at least 4 months ago, cobra or whatever said this and nothing happened.

has this resurfaced or is it a repetition of an old drama (sorry can't open reddit from here)
#this is so fuk 'dup

Old indeed.

https://github.com/bitcoin-dot-org/bitcoin.org/issues/1325

Perhaps there should be a white paper that is a current overview as it's the first stop for many, but it should in no way imply that it's THE white paper. That will always be an iconic document no matter what Bitcoin becomes.

12135  Economy / Speculation / The 'called it' boasting thread. on: April 06, 2017, 05:09:45 PM
I would like to see examples from people who made impressive predictions that came eerily true as I love a good success story.

You may either nominate yourself, which would be the coolest, or highlight other sages.

I'm totally shit at it so don't really have anything to offer.

Hit us with your genius.

12136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan Wu's patent: The resume on: April 06, 2017, 05:07:28 PM
This needs to be kept at the forefront until the BU shill crowd gives up. I don't know what they think they are accomplishing at this point but they sure aren't going quietly as their world falls around them.

They will never give up. It'll be given some wonderful spin and they'll carry on as before. Even if it's comprehensively drilled as an epic failure, that'll just give more ammo for sniping and grudges.

The only thing that'll sort it is a successfully implemented upgrade that either leaves them behind or addresses the qualms of the few sane ones. And if the people behind Unlimited had the requisite competence, level headedness and non shrill PR skills they could've been the winners.
12137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well, well, well, now we know what Jihan Wu’s been up to. on: April 06, 2017, 04:59:31 PM
would anyone of these patents hold up in court...

How many patents are pooed all over every single day in China? It must be tens or hundreds of thousands. Perhaps some deep pockets might be prepared to assert it but it's probably a dead idea before it even got going.
12138  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: lending on poloniex and bitfinex on: April 06, 2017, 04:57:05 PM
Poloniex is one of the greatest prizes in hacking at present. Lord knows how much money is stored on there. I'm sure they're extremely careful but another hack is only a matter of time.

It's already happened and somehow it'll happen again. Considering the returns on offer there's no way I'd bother myself.
12139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ways are there to earn bitcoins? on: April 06, 2017, 04:42:40 PM
Why waste your life noodling around to earn piddling amounts? Earn USD,EUR, GBP or whatever and buy it. There are approximately 1 trillion more ways to end up with more Bitcoin via that method. Uncool but true.
12140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scaling: Looks like all roads lead to LTC on: April 06, 2017, 11:19:04 AM
Seeing how smooth stuff goes with LTC and well LTC price reacts to Segwit, I d expect this to increase possibility of BTC taking the same path.

I m sure BTC price will react to this the same way, should this take place.

We now know why Bitmain doesn't like Segwit. They control so much mining power that unless they're appeased or somehow removed then Segwit activation is a cast iron impossibility.
