BSV nodes are accidentally connecting to BCH nodes. Tongue

Quote
Bitcoin SV (BSV) is a hard fork of Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and it seems that its architects did not change much. Bitcoin SV’s shoddy engineering allows for some BSV nodes to connect to BCH nodes when in safe mode.

The issue was brought to the attention of devs last week, and it was unfixed until recently. According to the comment on GitHub, the Bitcoin Cash blockchain is longer, which sometimes fools the Bitcoin SV node when in safe mode. It automatically enters safe mode when it finds a longer but invalid chain. The temporary solution now is to force-disable safe mode.

Quote
The issue underscores how similar BSV is to BCH—so similar that, apparently, even the nodes themselves sometimes struggle to tell the chains apart. The fact that the issue was allowed to persist for so long is also damning in its own right. Bitcoin SV has been live since November 2018, and only now this issue is being brought to light. Either the devs or doing a poor job or no one is paying attention to the actual architecture of Bitcoin SV.

https://www.caixinglobal.com/2020-02-06/reporters-notebook-we-interview-front-line-coronavirus-doctor-101512020.html
... warning: this is an interview of doctor on front line since Jan 06 in Wuhan and is tough reading.

Quote
Caixin: Based on your clinical experience, what’s the disease progression of the new coronavirus?

Peng: Lately I’ve been spending the daytime seeing patients in the ICU, then doing some research in the evenings. I just wrote a thesis. I drew on data from 138 cases that South Central Hospital had from Jan. 7-28 and attempted to summarize some patterns of the novel coronavirus.

A lot of viruses will die off on their own after a certain amount of time. We call these self-limited diseases. I’ve observed that the breakout period of the novel coronavirus tends to be three weeks, from the onset of symptoms to developing difficulties breathing. Basically going from mild to severe symptoms takes about a week. There are all sorts of mild symptoms: feebleness, shortness of breath, some people have fevers, some don’t. Based on studies of our 138 cases, the most common symptoms in the first stage are fever (98.6% of cases), feebleness (69.6%), cough (59.4%), muscle pains (34.8%), difficulties breathing (31.2%), while less common symptoms include headaches, dizziness, stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.

But some patients who enter the second week will suddenly get worse. At this stage, people should go to the hospital. Elderly with underlying conditions may develop complications; some may need machine-assisted respiration. When the body’s other organs start to fail, that’s when it becomes severe, while those with strong immune systems see their symptoms decrease in severity at this stage and gradually recover. So the second week is what determines whether the illness becomes critical.

The third week determines whether critical illness leads to death. Some in critical condition who receive treatment can raise their lymphocyte, a type of white blood cell, and see an improvement in their immune systems, and have been brought back, so to speak. But those whose lymphocyte numbers continue to decline, those whose immune systems are destroyed in the end, experience multiple organ failure and die.

For most, the illness is over in two weeks, whereas for those for whom the illness becomes severe, if they can survive three weeks they’re good. Those that can’t will die in three weeks.

...

Caixin: What is the highest risk a serious patient faces?

Peng: The biggest assault the virus launches is on a patient’s immune system. It causes a fall in the count of lymphocytes, the damage in the lungs and shortness of breath. Many serious patients died of choking. Others died of the failure of multiple organs following complications in their organs resulting from a collapse of the immune system.

... since we are not allowed to call it AIDS-flu by the WHO and Overlords in our government who are lying, withholding information, performing derelection of duty, covering up and risking lives, I won't call it AIDs-flu ...  but fuck me that sounds a lot like AIDS-flu.

Edit: to fight a virus the public need the best information available as soon as it is available. The virus thrives on the darkness and fear. Truth is needed NOW or science will not have a chance against this beast.

Evidence is showing that the virus is compromising bone marrow and therefore blood cell production. They are actually seeing a decrease in the body’s immune response.

This is an attack vector or with other words a weapon.

The recovery rate is good?  I guess not epidemic style

Tencent may have accidentally leaked real data on Wuhan virus deaths.

Quote
As many experts question the veracity of China's statistics for the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, Tencent over the weekend seems to have inadvertently released what is potentially the actual number of infections and deaths, which were astronomically higher than official figures.

On late Saturday evening (Feb. 1), Tencent, on its webpage titled "Epidemic Situation Tracker", showed confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (2019nCoV) in China as standing at 154,023, 10 times the official figure at the time. It listed the number of suspected cases as 79,808, four times the official figure.

The number of cured cases was only 269, well below the official number that day of 300. Most ominously, the death toll listed was 24,589, vastly higher than the 300 officially listed that day.

Moments later, Tencent updated the numbers to reflect the government's "official" numbers that day. Netizens noticed that Tencent has on at least three occasions posted extremely high numbers, only to quickly lower them to government-approved statistics.

Netizens also noticed that each time the screen with the large numbers appears, it shows a comparison with the previous day's data which demonstrates a "reasonable" incremental increase, much like comparisons of official numbers. This has led some netizens to speculate that Tencent has two sets of data, the real data and "processed" data.

Some are speculating that a coding problem could be causing the real "internal" data to accidentally appear. Others believe that someone behind the scenes is trying to leak the real numbers.

However, the "internal" data held by Beijing may not reflect the true extent of the epidemic. According to multiple sources in Wuhan, many coronavirus patients are unable to receive treatment and die outside of hospitals.

A severe shortage of test kits also leads to a lower number of diagnosed cases of infection and death. In addition, there have been many reports of doctors being ordered to list other forms of death instead of coronavirus to keep the death toll artificially low.

Scientific Puzzles Surrounding the Wuhan Novel Coronavirus.

Quote
Prof. Lu et. al. also discussed the natural host of the virus. An early hypothesis had been the virus had passed to humans from bats sold at Wuhan’s Huanan Seafood Market.

Lu et. al write: “First, the outbreak was first reported in late December 2019, when most bat species in Wuhan are hibernating. Second, no bats were sold or found at the Huanan seafood market, whereas various non-aquatic animals (including mammals) were available for purchase. Third, the sequence identity between 2019-nCoV and its close relatives bat-SL-CoVZC45 and bat-SL-CoVZXC21 was less than 90%. Hence, bat-SL-CoVZC45 and bat-SL-CoVZXC21 are not direct ancestors of 2019-nCoV.”

The authors point out that while the 2019-nCoV causing the Wuhan outbreak might have initially been hosted by bats, it may have been transmitted to humans via other as yet unknown mechanisms.

The Science article said: “Huanan marketplace played an early role in spreading 2019-nCoV, but whether it was the origin of the outbreak remains uncertain. Many of the initially confirmed 2019-nCoV cases—27 of the first 41 in one report, 26 of 47 in another—were connected to the Wuhan market, but up to 45%, including the earliest handful, were not. This raises the possibility that the initial jump into people happened elsewhere.”

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7957889/Thai-medics-claim-coronavirus-break-Patient-declared-disease-free-48-hours.html

Upon further research, this appears to be awesome news. A cure that took 48 hours to rid the patient of the virus. Ive been waiting for doctors to proclaim someone to be cured with no traces of the virus in their system instead of the reports we have been getting of "recovered", or "stable" patients.

New evidence emerges: Coronavirus “bioweapon” might have been a Chinese vaccine experiment gone wrong… genes contain “pShuttle-SN” sequences, proving laboratory origin.

The real number of coronavirus cases is more than 75,000, according to a scientific model that says the outbreak will double in size every 6.4 days.

- There are currently 17,388 confirmed cases, 19,544 suspected cases and 362 global fatalities.

So how is that tracking with that spreadsheet that was being passed around last week? I seem to recall we should be in thousands of deaths by Feb 2nd.

Just thinking.

Posting spreadsheets everyday might be annoying to some people here. A quick summary is better, to much things happening.

Do not trust China's official numbers or statements, casualties are higher than they say.

Nope, fucking scary actually.
But it seems not Trezors fault, the STM32 micro misbehaves when it is voltage "glitched".
Basically the device is useless as hardware wallet without replacement, except when the seed is protected by a BIP39 passphrase (which is what Kraken recommends as fix/cure).

^ Krakens blog article is really very detailed and well written. You need only a minimal electronic understanding to reproduce the attack. (<- Meaning the crims will be up to speed quickly).

Not a new exploit just old rehased FUD, use a passphrase (like we all do) and have to be able to defend from physical attacks.
