Just had a let down. Bought my Bitcoin in 2013 on Bitstamp with full verification as German citizen living in Germany. Now that my bank account is almost emptied because I have no job and no income, I wanted to cash out 3-4K to have some cash for the next months. Bitstamp asked for proof of where I got my crypto from to be able to cash out. So I showed em the buy history on my Bitstamp account. Now they asking me where I got that money in 2013 to buy the Bitcoins. How the hell can I proof money I saved over a time span of 10 years. For example by selling your old 2nd hand stuff etc. Ridiculous. Gonna try Binance now.

Log in your bank account and search for banking history dating back to ~2013 range. If you had a job at that time you need screenshot those slips and mark it with a red line the salary deposits for better uncluttered view. Ore screenshot your savings.

Bitstamp asked me the same questions and this is how i did that, having no problems cashing out money every month for my retirement. Money transfer takes a few hours which is fast.

We can only go back 3 or 6 months here in Germany on the bank account. You mean they ok with one salary check? Because the documents are so old I threw them all in trash. Especially because I will leave Germany soon and thought I won’t need em ever again.

No doubt your bank has all your banking history saved on their servers, perhaps you overlooked the history option when you log in your account ore you need to pay for that kind of information.

Try Binance, Kraken ore a local Bitcoin broker in your own country.

Good luck.

For those that might be interested I bought in at $36,850 with nearly all my saving account at the time. I still have my Bitcoin have not sold any of it. Bitcoin either gets to my goal price or it does not. I will not be selling before then and I will only be selling a certain amount to pay off the rest of my debts and not all of the btc if it does reach it. I remember when I first bought the amount I was very nervous about any micro movement but it is strange how calm I have been during the last few weeks. I think I owe a lot of this to my wife she has been the most understanding person. Part of me is kicking myself because I invested at a price which is nearly double the current price but that is just life. You cannot predict everything perfectly and anyone claiming to have foreseen this drop months ago is probably lying. I have money coming in with my job and that has been enough to build up a emergency fund if anything went wrong with the house or our health. I think that is all I need and can wait for Bitcoin to go up to my desired price.

I might do some dca at this price

Continue buying every month, you'll be just fine reaching your goal if you aim for 2024 halving mega pump.

Without FTX downfall Bitcoin would've been pumped to $25k - $30k which means it bottomed out in June.

I don't expect going even lower than this as long as no more blowups are happening.

Binance officially walks away from FTX deal --> more panic selling.

Anyway. .it will take 3 years from now when you are eligible to start posting moon memes again.

If this plays out Bitcoin will face a modest pump towards ~$100k, dumped back to $60k ore so. Will decouple from stock market by 2024 halving with a glorious mega pump to $200k - $400k.

US Chamber of Commerce Rips SEC for Denying Proposed Grayscale Bitcoin ETF.

Quote
The largest lobbying group in the US is backing Grayscale Investments’ lawsuit against the SEC, which claims the agency unfairly disapproved the proposed conversion of the firm’s bitcoin trust (GBTC) to an ETF.

US Chamber of Commerce lawyers wrote in an amicus brief filed Tuesday that the SEC’s decision to deny Grayscale’s planned fund reflects “a paternalistic belief that the agency knows better than investors.” The organization, which claims to directly represent 300,000 members, added that the agency’s policy decisions often “depart drastically” from SEC precedent.

“This approach has enabled the commission to pick winners and losers without having to account for its reasoning to the interested public or to the courts, thereby depriving investors of the freedom to make their own investment choices and businesses of the certainty they need to innovate and meet investor demand,” the brief states.

Unique intervention on ransomware gang Deadbolt. (scroll down for English version.)

Quote
The Dutch National police have had a nice success in fighting ransomware. With ransomware, criminals hold computer files hostage. Victims must pay a ransom to regain access to their files. Yesterday evening, during a targeted operation, Dutch police managed to obtain over 150 decryption keys from ransomware group Deadboltdue to a trick with the bitcoin payments. The police paid, received the decryption keys and then withdrew the payments. These keys allows files such as treasured photos or administration to be unlocked again, at no cost to victims.

The action followed a tip-off from cybersecurity firm Responders.NU about a possible method to obtain decryption keys. Thanks to that tip, the Dutch police in cooperation with Responders. NU has succeeded to obtain almost 90% of the keys of victims that filed complaint in one of the thirteen countries that shared information prior to the action. Several (police) departments are cooperating intensively in this action and were being assisted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Europol, the French national police, and the French Gendarmerie. Apart from helping these victims, the action is a nasty blow for the cybercriminals behind Deadbolt: due to a weak link in their operation they were forced to shut down their system. On top of that, it will be clear to them that they are in the crosshairs of international law enforcement authorities: attempts to move their criminal earnings are not without risks.

This case illustrates how the police works to fight cybercrime in a broad sense: disrupting criminals and helping victims. Unfortunately, in this case, not all keys will find their way directly back to the victims. Victims who did not file a report are not always quickly identifiable making it hard to supply them with their key.
