Huh... well, I asked him today with regards to an unrelated issue about it and he said he won't do it.  To be fair, though, he said he won't do it for people being "annoying" but I would say trolling falls under the auspices of "annoying" by any definition.

Good on him if he'll ban for trolling.  Can you define "Good portion?"  Are we talking 51% or 99.9% or what?

1222  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Split BFL thread? on: January 22, 2013, 06:19:27 AM
Theymos said he will not ban people for trolling, so a warning is completely meaningless.
1223  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Re: MTGox is apparently out of money...(Inaba and MTGox and his ASICS) on: January 22, 2013, 06:17:39 AM

Nar.... He shit all over tom at bASIC... now like any Ego maniac he needs a bigger target.

Because Tom was a liar, as evidenced by his whole scheme falling apart.  Or did you miss the fact that Tom's little enterprise exploded in his face because of his ineptness and constant lies?

BTW, if any of you shitheads ever wonder why I'm such an asshole to you, it's because you can't resist following me around, posting irrelevant shit after me, just like the good little followers you are, always eating the shit I leave for you.  Enjoy it, because I certainly enjoy watching you eat my shit and hang off my every post.   <-- That's only half sarcastic, for those of you not able to catch it.

1224  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Re: MTGox is apparently out of money...(Inaba and MTGox and his ASICS) on: January 22, 2013, 05:05:10 AM
We aren't a hot air balloon factory.
But you could be. Imagine the possibilities... the heat generated from raging trolls is far greater than nuclear energy. You could even make a deal with Toyota to power the next generation of their Prius.

Ladies and gentlemen, not only is BFL a pioneer in the latest bitcoin technology, but they just may have ended America's energy crisis. Woohoo!

QFT.  Epic.  You'll get a founding shareholder stake in our new company spinoff.

Haven't had a lot of luck with that thread, but I'll give it a shot again.
1227  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: USD between MTGOX <--> DWOLLA on: January 22, 2013, 04:44:06 AM
I can do 1100 Dwolla for Gox BTC
1228  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox is apparently out of money... on: January 22, 2013, 04:17:14 AM
Sure... I could understand that for a few days.  But 11 days and counting?  That doesn't make much sense.
1229  Economy / Service Discussion / MTGox is apparently out of money... on: January 22, 2013, 04:09:52 AM
So I initiated a $4000 MTGox Dwolla withdrawal over ten days ago... I sent in two support tickets and they finally got back to me tonight, here's what the response was.

Hello Josh,

The transaction is still in process and the transaction has not been processed due to insufficient funds in our account. We will retry and update you once processed. We appreciate your patience.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

Huh... MTGox can't even afford a $4000 withdrawal after 10+ days.  This does not bode well.
1230  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Split BFL thread? on: January 22, 2013, 04:00:02 AM
Do you have any idea how much that crop circle cost us?
1231  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Split BFL thread? on: January 22, 2013, 03:26:26 AM
Interesting.. please post pictures.  BFL hasn't shipped yet, as if you didn't know.  Are you saying your bASIC is a failure?  I thought it was superior in every way to BFL, or so you said.  Tom is transparent and honest, right?  I guess we know what your assessment of people and companies are worth:  Jack and shit.  And Jack just hopped a bus for Toledo.

1232  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Split BFL thread? on: January 22, 2013, 03:20:23 AM
You label anyone that calls you on your lies an idiot and/or a troll. You really need some new material Josh.

Thanks for illustrating my point.  Also, I apologize that I forgot to include you in the list of completely useless posters on this forum.  BTW - how is that bASIC hashing for you?  They shipped last week, right?
1233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Split BFL thread? on: January 22, 2013, 03:04:19 AM
It would be a Sisyphean task to clean up all the BFL treads. It was BFL who started using the "diss" as a form of marketing. Live by the sword diss, die by the sword diss. And "diss" means not only "disrespect" but also "disinformation".

Here's just one example of one of the original BFL ASIC threads that now somehow resides in the Off-topic section, and type of marketing practiced by BFL; I'm pointing to my quote of Inaba's conversation with reeses.

Butterfly Labs appeared here first time in August of 2011 in the Russian News subforum and immediately aroused suspiction.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38922.0

Then it was you who actually opened the first English language topic:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=48863.0

1GH/s, 20w, $500 — Butterflylabs, is it a scam?

and the second one:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=53530.0

1GH/s, 20w, $700 (was $500) — Butterflylabs, is it for real? (Part 2)

I don't know, maybe you feel somehow responsible for all the BFL-flavoured beer that had been brewed on this forum and feel obliged to drink all of it. But as a reader I feel that BFL should drink their own beer.

I suggest you actually read the threads you referenced.  BFL has always and will likely continue to always respond, not instigate.  From the beginning (Long before I had anything to do with BFL) BFL was attacked at nearly every turn and the moderators did little or nothing to prevent it.  It's endemic in the system.  If you don't like the responses you get, don't post the attacks you post, simple as that.  Post a well reasoned and dare I say polite post and you'll get a well reasoned, polite reply.  Post raving nutcase vitriol and you'll get the same in response.  That is, quite literally, the only thing this forum understands and subsists on.  Take Smoothie here for example .. he's incapable of interjecting any sort of intelligence into a conversation and makes multiple posts in a row spouting complete nonsense, or take Syke... his latest post is complete drivel and adds absolutely nothing to the conversation yet he keeps offering his "opinion" on thread after thread, even though absolutely no one but other trolls care what he has to say.  It's people like them that make it impossible to communicate on this forum.

Yes, Endless September describes it perfectly.  I distinctly remember the day the AOL floodgates opened onto my beloved Usenet and what a morass of crap Usenet ultimately succumbed to, which is the same thing we see here.  The problem with Usenet ultimately was that it was unmoderatable for all intents and purposes.  Yes, you could have a moderated newsgroup, but it was cumbersome and the interface lended itself to a horrible moderation system.  A forum is much more suited to moderation and running an unmoderated forum (which I learned first hand) will eventually degenerate into complete crap and as much as I pains me to admit it, moderation is necessary for a public forum to function well and have a long life.  Otherwise it will destroy itself from within and the trolls like Syke, PuertoLibre, Mem, et al will just move on to somewhere else and ruin it.

1234  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Split BFL thread? on: January 22, 2013, 02:16:02 AM
In a perfect world, a locked thread would work.  But in the world of Bitcointalk, the only thing a locked thread will generate is "BFL is censoring posts! Lollers!  ROFLCOPTER SCAM!" etc...  Same problem with moderating posts for the ASIC vendors, if not done by a disinterested third party.  I can't moderate a thread because anything I moderate would instantly be called censorship.  Look at people like Frizz... he creates at least 1 new account per day on the BFL forums to post crap and then comes over here crying when I delete his spam.  PuertoLibre and the rest of the Clown Crew have also gotten into the act of "Censorship" cries, even though I let a lot of negative stuff go on the BFL forums... I just delete the outright spam, personal attacks and over use of cussing for the most part.  Any reasonable, well thought out post is left intact, even if it's negative.  So I can only imagine what it would be like if I were to impose the same rules here on a thread of our own.  No, it has to come from a disinterested third party.  I trust Gmaxwell completely to do the right thing as far as moderation goes, even though I sometimes disagree with his conclusions... can't say the same thing for all moderators, but most moderators here don't have an agenda to push so I'm fine with them doing it.

Ok... maybe I am misunderstanding things, but why do we want to encrypt miner traffic?

Dear Friends, Lovers, and Enemies,

First off. Sorry for the scare. and believe me it was a SCARE - we had to refund over 200k and we were happy to do it because we claimed from day one that we will honor any refurequest until we go into production and we meant it. And  As crazy as fuck as it is to say so , we will sill honor it. We took multiple 20k+ refunds left and right without batting and eye lash because we believe in this project and we know we will be releasing our bASIC Bitcoin mining units sooner than everyone else, especially our good friends BFL.

Love us or hate us, I have some good friends who are original Bitcoin "old money" and they gave us the additional funding we need to finish the chip fab / packaging and take this thing into production. (THANK GOD!)

we WILL be shipping bASIC bitcoin mining devices in March 2013 and I am willing to put my own money against anyone who says otherwise.

The Design is done baby. The chips will be state-side as soon as Chinese New Year is over and for those who could not stomach the wait I don't blame you but I'm sorry to say you lost you place in line my friends.

March may seem a long time away as we all have ASIC blue balls right now, but its really not that far away, and I salute and congratulate all of you who have had the testicular fortitude to stick it out with us because you my friends will receive the ultimate reward. Sure Avalon may get some units out before the Chinese new year but that is sure to be a very limited number. On the other hand our assembly house has an unlimited assembly capacity and as soon as the Chinese new year ends we will have 16,000 freshly fabbed and packaged ASIC chips and we will be assembling those PCB's at FULL CAPACITY !We will be shipping ALL CURRENT ORDERS IN THE MONTH OF MARCH AND WE STILL HAVE ROOM FOR MORE ORDERS SO Get IN WHILE YOU STILL CAN! I stake my personal name and word on that. So hold on tight my friends because its going to be a wild ride in the month of March.

Now Let's Get ready to mine some serious coins
your friend always "cablepair"
Tom

This is not the same Tom that I pre-ordered from. He seems to have developed some mental health issues and/or a drinking problem in the meantime... sad but true.  Sad

Oh, it's the same Tom.  You just never saw the dirtbag side of him that I've seen.  Welcome to the dark side.

How i can collect people?

You should only collect people if you can acquire the whole set.  If you only have part of the set, it's worthless.
1239  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LiL Help on BFL SINGLES - UPGRADING TO ASIC - MARCH DEADLINE on: January 18, 2013, 11:15:32 PM
Yes, the date has been extended to June 1st, 2013.
1240  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The State of the ASIC Market on: January 18, 2013, 11:08:02 PM
Sorry Bitsyncom, but you are completely full of shit.  Completely.  You have repeatedly stated that it's "impossible" to do things, yet somehow BFL manages to do the "imposisble."

Why do you continually prod me with a stick?  I have left you alone to go do your own thing with your ancient technology and your ridiculously immense power requirements, yet you want to keep antagonizing me.  Why is that?

I really hope you have something to show on Monday, you have about 24 hours to produce, so we'll see then.  The fact of the matter is, though, no one is going to buy your 1990's tech after we ship, so enjoy the few weeks of glory you will have if you can manage to ship a working product that doesn't melt.

PS - Your last few sentences are interesting.  Are you having some issues with heat and have to throttle back a bit to fix the the issue?
