I only hate those who cant understand that I dont believe in their shit.
I am tired of listening to people say things like "You will go to hell" or "You only pray to satan" and things alike..

It pisses me off.

Im atheist and thats it.

I respect peope who has believs
, but dont try to convert me or tell me that I am the one who is wrong.

What is there to respect about having irrational superstitious beliefs?

Historically, religions have existed in sort of a survival of the fittest mode.  The ones that have legs, likely have a few good points.  Maybe free kid care after school, maybe socializing parties, who knows.  And they do the new baby, marriage and death dances.

Around here when school started there were signs are one church that there was going to be a big meeting Saturday and they were going to "Bless the Backpacks."

That for me is really bizarre.

I don't know.

Maybe they can bless my crypto keys?  My dog?  My big screen TV?  How about my beer?

RIP victims of the wars started by drawing the 911 card (over 300k+ casualties)
RIP to my freedom of not having to strip down to my underwear before boarding a flight thanks to the 911 card
RIP to my freedom to surf the internet without the NSA spying on me thanks to the 911 card
Ah...no...mostly.

I think it was in the mid 1990s that I calculated from the NSA power consumption what they were up to was total surveillance.

As for "victims of the wars", yeah wars are not exactly pretty.  Never have been.

As for the airline Security Theater, I agree.  That is a total clown act.
12863  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: September 09, 2014, 10:21:07 PM
Islamists care more about their life after death than life here

I'll respect Islam when the religion as a whole handles it's own problem - the problem of it's radical terrorists.

As long as non Muslims have to handle the problem of Islamic radical terrorists, as long as this crap is projected on the news media of the world as a threat to individuals, I will not respect Islam.

Urban Shield: after Ferguson, police and suppliers consider fate of military-grade tactical gear

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/sep/08/-sp-urban-shield-police-militarization-ferguson-oakland

<< Giant black armoured vehicles, assault rifles, gas masks and drones: the modern face of policing in America is on display at a four-day police trade show in Oakland, held mere weeks after a fatal police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. >>

Well, isn't that something?  Oakland, about as communist radical as you can get in USSA, and not a peek from protesters about this type of event?  Wait, they are totalitarian radicals, all those ex hipsters from long ago, so they maybe like this stuff.

You know, all this gear should make those no-knock raids safer.  The ones where unfortunately dumb-ass cops break down the doors to the wrong house and are met by armed resistance?  And it would make them safer in the no-knock raids where they get the right house, too.  Because barging in and grabbing the crack and the cash and staying safe, that takes some gear, man.  Get yourself all geared up, and get ready.

Because it's really not about the terrorist they tell you to be worried about on the TV.  It's about taking the cash while doing the job of getting the drugs.  The cash is just a bonus.  The War on Drugs, well, it's a tough job but someone's got to do it.

Seriously...

How much dumber can we be, do we really think we can be so lax and sit around again, how much longer until another 09/11 bs happens because we are so stupid about securing the border. like really.

What's not clear to me is why O'Keefe would even be classified a "right wing..."

You'd think this stuff was common sense.

Conservative filmmaker's latest provocation shows lax security on America's northern border
James O'Keefe filmed a play-acting black-clad jihadi with a British accent carrying fake ricin and pretend Ebola across Lake Erie and into Cleveland

Why didn't Obama negotiate for the release of the journalists when he released FIVE terrorists in exchange for ONE deserter?  Five for five would have been a better deal.
I think Obama is sympathetic towards the terrorists. He shares their religion and has seriously stepped back on the war on terror. He has also really not actively engaged the US military with any enemy since he has taken office.

For Obama to share a religion wouldn't that mean that he has to look up to somebody/something?  I'm pretty sure the narcissist-in-chief thinks he is the highest power onthe face of the Earth. He's not called the messiah for no reason  Grin

The admin really dropped the bomb on this one... it will be interesting to see how Hillary spins this to her favor.
No he doens't have to look up to anyone but he does seem to want to promote their religion throughout the world as evidenced by the fact that he refused to attack terrorists that share that religion.

I don't know if I would equate apathy with commiseration.  Another war would simply interrupt his gold schedule, his Beyonce concerts and might even interrupt his viewing of next years NCAA Spring Madness - we can't have that happen.

Except, of course there will be A NEED FOR DECISIVE SWIFT EXECUTIVE ACTION in the leadup to the November elections here.  This photo op will have to be staged so that there is no possibility of American lives being lost and so the on screen coverage looks like HE HAS A GRIP on something.

That means a boots on the ground action somewhere.  Maybe we can do Bin Laden again?

It would be really nice if these degenerates (CIA private squad) would unite the world and let this Ukraine/Russia thing chill out.

Every asinine comments about 'cia backing islamists', I would like to ask, why aren't you investigating how the russians, the chinese, or fucking cubans backing other militant organizations for their own benefit? Do you actually think they are not backing the armed conflicts involving islamists as much as anyone else?

Where were you when cuba sent thousands of its troops to angola to slaughter the opposition and conducted a de facto armed intervention and invasion?

Where were you when chinese communist red army was steam rolling into tibet to rape and pillage, and drain the natural resources of the region and conduct cultural and racial genocide of tibetans, policies which they continue to this very day under so many guises of greasy promises?

Where are all the jihadists when the chinese government confiscates and burns non-state sanctioned quran (the real ones), demolishes the mosques, and executes uyghrs and forces uyghr people to intermarry with han chinese to conduct a virtual extermination of their identity as people? Or are they too afraid to confront an enemy that couldn't give two shits about human rights but like pussies bitch at others who do?

Where were you when nva and vietcong conducted a racial extermination of hmongs?

What inside knowledge do you have, none of which you presented, that makes your delusional rambling about 'ooohh big bad cia/nsa is to blame for every thing' anything more than bitch fest of tantrums? Have you actually worked inside intelligence organs or other government departments and were in a position to access the necessary information?

What other reasons do you have then some conspiracy theory bull shit that's tailored for your mental masturbation pleasures?

The sad fact that this type of nonsense and bitch attitude is being accepted as 'correct' and 'educated' is the main problem. With such selectively moral people who talk out of their mouths as if they know anything, the actual oppressors are too happy to manipulate the so-called 'enlightened' people to their advantage.

The cops seem to be assuming that terrorists only fly in. Cheesy

Most of them will be doing that even now. There are hundreds of US citizens fighting for the ISIS in Syria and Iraq, and the CIA doesn't have information about all of them. They will just travel to Turkey, catch a flight to the US and then commit terrorist acts there. Crossing the US-Mexico border is not that easy, and you have to pay bribes to the coyotes as well.
Yes it is that easy.

The fact that anyone would consider anything less then total extermination, violation, and annihilation for these fools to be legitimate - that's the most asinine and cowardly part of it all.

Drag them out to the streets, violate their families and homes, and take from them everything that resembles value. Ravage their groups and make sure they are pinned to the ground while the whole puts trains on them and their followers.

Nothing less will suffice.
I don't have any idea what to think of this.  But here I am eating tasty bacon.  Now anyone who wants to tell me I can't eat bacon, because I'll be dead unless I convert to Blah Blah Blah were bacon is disallowed...

12872  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obamacare Site Hacked on: September 07, 2014, 06:57:58 AM
The hysterical reaction here really shows that a lot of people have no idea about how things work in data security.  Hackers make inroads to servers every day - literally. The e is absolutely no such thing as a 100% secure computer. And within networks, there are multiple levels of security. Forward facing servers - the ones you actually connect to when you go to a web site - are placed in what's called a DMZ.  Servers in there are known to be vulnerable to attack - they are less protected by security than other servers that actually contain sensitive data.  The main servers that house sensitive data are deeper in the network, with no direct access from the internet.  And you really can't access their data "through" a DMZ web server. That's not how it works. a Hacker would have to actually take control of the web server to use it's connection to the inside to communicate with the more secure servers. And even then, they'd have to hack the security in THOSE links as well, and somehow bypass the Intruder Detection Systems to access sensitive data. This did not happen. What happened here is that the system worked - a hacker found a vulnerability (and there will ALWAYS be vulnerabilities) in a forward facing web server. The hack was discovered two weeks ago - and it went no further than the web server itself.  The hack was discovered, and it was dealt with. That's how data security works. We hack our own systems - both in test labs and in the wild, always searching for new vulnerabilities. And they always exist on some level. Data security is not about being totally unbreachable, it's about a balance between that and reaction time to breaches. In this case, a hacker got some malicious code onto a web server. The hack was discovered, no data was at risk and the breach was mitigated. The system worked.
Because this is a very logical exposition of the way that data security should work, I know that's not how it happened in this case.

Because its government.

Becuase it's obamacare.

Part of the way they con you citing "facts" such as bolded above is to never use inflation adjusted numbers.

That statement is true in constant (inflation adjusted) dollars.
No it is not true in inflation adjusted dollars.

First of all you have to be very careful about whose measures of inflation you believe for this kind of a calculation.  This is very important.  www.shadowstats.com

Secondly, for any given starting and ending dates for an investment, whether you make a profit or lose is a random thing.

Third, at this time there is massive over investment in the stock market in order to get a basic return on investment, which cannot be done with savings.  This over investment is due for a correction in my opinion.

Remember that at the very time that government wants to prevent capital flight, they will lie on every number, every statistic and try to prevent those funds from moving using a variety of tactics and slow-walking.

Wow this makes me wonder what that whole war with Iraq was good for?  We didn't find any WMD's amd we destroyed an nations culture and replaced it with terrorists who want to destroy the planet.  Maybe we should fix the problem and stay the hell out of business that doesn't concern us and not go to war for no reason.  Wink

Got it!  ISIS is Bush's fault!

(NOT!)

If you want to put words in my mouth have at it but it doesn't make you any less wrong, fact.  You seem to be ok with painting the picture to be so black and white and that is why you don't understand such a complex problem.  I honestly don't even know where to start discussing this subject with you because your going to argue talking points that are just far from what really matters, or as I like to call it, the truth(aka reality).
I really don't see it that way.  From my perspective, you've somehow conjured up a view in which "We" are "responsible for terrorists who want to destroy the planet."

You know, this is just like saying something like "The murderer had an unhappy childhood and that's why he did those terrible things."

At some point you have to simply recognize individual moral responsibility for actions, don't you?  If you can't or won't, nothing has a cause.

At some point you will have to accept that all these unjust wars have helped spawn terrorists more then anything else. You're problem is you want to bury your head in the sand from the truth and as soon as someone does the opposite your the first one to scream shut up you don't have a clue what's going on.

Everybody knows Bush got the job because of his daddy and he wasn't running the show while in office.  I'm not here to talk about bush and have the same old arguments that doesn't address the real issue.  I'm only interested in the truth which is our foreign policy does far more to create terrorism then it does to destroy it.
I'm halfway inclined to go into a discussion of historical analogies and why your ideas are completely wrong.  But you can do that yourself.  The essential problem here in the current thread is that you've completely ignored what I said.  So I'll repeat it.

At some point you have to simply recognize individual moral responsibility for actions, don't you?  If you can't or won't, nothing has a cause.

That's the important point.  It all stops right there.

I'm an IT professional, you would be surprised how many people just keep a .pst on their local hard drive with all their emails on it which eventually dies even though they are trained to put them on the network share.
I had a service company that maintained the backup tape drives for a government installation for about ten years.  They could produce anything they wanted, no ifs ands or buts.

It would be interesting to see who's been hired and who's been fired in that chain of command of people overseeing the backups, since this nonsense started.

So far none. If one is fired then the other domino knows it will fall and will have nothing to lose. They are ALL-IN in this.

I tend to keep my mouth quiet if he does something I don't like.  I would hate to be targeted by the entire IRS, could you imagine?  It would take nothing for them to ensure your being broke the rest of life and hounded with audits, tax issues etc.

That is why books and movies about people who dare to do the right thing while facing assured doom are made. That is why their names never die, generations after generations. We would all keep our mouth shut when faced with a bully like lerner and her team... While hoping for someone else to do the right thing for all of us.

We are like sheep.

I am Spartacus.

Obama should elect Bush for War Secretary. He's not the brightest candidate but warring is one of his better skill set.
No evidence - none - exists of the intelligence level of Obama.  There is one very weak law review comment and two schizophrenic "poems."

You are comparing a "Nothing" against a "Something."

The bubble has been blown, getting quite full and turgid.Just look at the S&P ramp 2009-Present. Those who get out at the right time make a lot of money. Those who don't get out get 2001'd or 2008'd.That is the game (401K/IRA crowd always lose).

Those who buy S&P500 and hold long term (> 20 years) have always done well, historically. Yes there are ups and downs along the way, but for the vast majority of people, trying to time the markets is a losing proposition.

Part of the way they con you citing "facts" such as bolded above is to never use inflation adjusted numbers.

Funniest thing, during each of Argentina's hyperinflations it's stock market did quite well.  Using those ways of calculating it.

A simple forecast of what corporate earnings will be with normalized interest rates shows their future.  These companies are all riding on low rates, just like the FED wanted.  That's going to come to a screeching halt.

Why? When central banks finally decide to raise rates, they are likely to do it very slowly and gradually.
They will try to do it slowly and they may or may not success in that.  It doesn't matter, because the market will factor into prices the expectation of future rate increases.
