check the batch file link in my sig. lots of good info.
near the bottom of that post is a link to my original batch post, with a LOT more info.
profitability is based on your hashrate and algo you mine.
be sure in your password to supply the payout type; as well as the algo name you are mining. ('c=btc, skien' as an example)
I have batch files for manual selection, or for profit switching available. I should be finishing my updated version of the batch sometime soon. To see how an individual batch launch for a single algo would be done; check out my how to normalize section.... it has batch examples.

i make win10 rigs with 100% uptime...
100% uptime over how many years? "100% uptime" by itself is a MEANINGLESS claim. as-in, they only shutdown or reboot if my power goes out; I personally shut them down, or they process updates that require updates. the OS itself is pretty stable, and easy to configure. Ubuntu is pretty close to easyness... but I digress.... I have prefect uptimes on my machines. I wont settle for less. Anytime they start becoming unstable, a PSU is failing, or the caps on a device are going bad. We are far from the XP days...... reliability speaking. 10 is pretty solid. It just has bloat built-in that people dislike. Nothing much else to complain about. Especially since its always free for me.

Both are just fine for mining and the differences are marginal most of the time. After you get BIOS issues and all that out of the way, just pick whichever you like more. Windows is usually not free and although you can get licenses for under $5 nowadays, I still prefer Ubuntu for its simplicity and compatibility with pretty much all mining software.
Where are you getting a $5 Windows license? Seuss I get free. Install 7; activate. Install 10 as upgrade after SP1 updates on 7. Automatically Licensed/activated copy of 10. Just don't use a blacklisted 7 install; or janky autoKMS.

phil, whats the average profitability you are seeing mining bcc per TH? profit in BCC is fine...
Might make it worthwhile to use the old S7 as a space heater this winter.
Are you pointing them at altcoin pools or solely a bcc pool/nicehash?

agreed. either that or high gpu density needing linux for that, or if you have limited network bandwidth and dont want win10 machines doing their own business as they tend to do....

i make win10 rigs with 100% uptime... I have seen linux rigs with impressive similar uptimes as well. It's all about adding what you need, and removing what you dont need.
ill be doing a linux OS machine for purely mining soon, and ill have more to input as a comparison. But i have had very reliable and stable windows machines.

Mining always ends up being a mean function of hardware price and cost of power.
I'd call it a profitability wave; not a bubble. Bubbles are things like quantitative easing, credit and bailouts.... more than they are likened to alt coin mining.
The still high price of gpu means there is still a demand that outweighs the availability of asics on hand/in manufacture. Once a new tier to take foot is conceived, price will lower as usual.... Or if demand finally slows down.
I see the profitability still rippling as people are buying and putting more gear online concurrently. Soon when it plateaus, you will see a decline in gpu cost. Sadly I think many stressed/overclocked things like 1080ti's will go for sale as used, but people will just want too damned much of them

it means that the pool knows it will take a while to mine enough to pay you, and BTC is a way to stop it from accumulating.

Closely following the thread. as I will get 3XOnda 1800D MBs this following week. And I am planning to use GTX 1070 on these MBs. Let's see how it will go. Need suggestions from members about the make and model of GTX 1070 depending upon spacing and wattage.
Maybe Asus Turbo 1070? The blower style card might be better for this setup. Also because Asus turbos tend to be cheaper. ASUS 1070 turbo has marginal cooling to start with - and gets VERY unhappy if the blower opening is blocked at all. It gets a LITTLE better if you remove the metal mounting bracket, but is still pretty hot running. Their 1080ti might work better, as it doesn't have a DVI connector blocking HALF the output airflow area and seems to be better about low-restriction on the metal mounting bracket as well. Seems like that one specific ASUS 1080ti model is the ONLY GTX 10xx series card (except for the various "mining 1060 models and perhaps some of the low-end 1050ti and below stuff) that skips the DVI connector for better cooling. I personally have not been impressed with any of ASUS's video card designs over the last 3-5 years now. They should just stop already.... My 4G turbo 960 is slower than my 2G EVGA 960 SSC... the cooler designs are pure garbage.... flimsy designs as well.

looks pretty good at the moment. I have a question if I put c=BCC,skunk while mining skunk will I convert the skunk to bcc and bcc will go to my bcc address of 1J7yySgHXdVCCZNpyqmxgGxwyC83HCPS78 im not sure if its BCC or BCH.... Crackfoo should comment on this one...

How to setup ccminer to mine specific coin from choosen algorithm? I wanted to mine DGB coin, with skein algo, my batch: ccminer-x11gost -a skein -o stratum+tcp://skein.mine.zpool.ca:4933 -u 1BzqJmN9nFu8Bjkybkx6AXRzYZDVsfABcy.evga -p skein,c=DGB On wallet page I see that my miner is mining skein, but 'last 50 earnings' shows that pool jumps to all coins from skein algo. Please tell me how to setup it properly, because I dont want to waste my time for jumping on not profitable coins go to page 1. read this thread. its not unprofitable. you are not understanding the process.

im in for your continued input on the 6 card boards. I am really appreciating their card spacing. 6x 1080ti would be nice if the mainboard can handle the load on the PCIE connectors. From what I can tell in photos, the power traces to them are massive.
I like the $150 price point and the built in GPU. Just stick a sodimm in and a HDD. Simplicity.

Once your next balance reaches over .015, you will get a payment on the scheduled time that day. It will continue counting from what was unconfirmed, and you will see that balance slowly confirm and add to "Balance" throughout the day.
If you are no longer mining aand under 0.015btc; you wait till next sunday to get the final payout if it all confirms and becomes "Balance".

I just got my payout 67 sec ago; I think you are ok and getting paid in btc, just be sure the password flag is set.
Did you get a payout yourself as well?
the difference is your estimated balance/share earned but before confirmed and sold at exchange. So, you will see that number remain until it matures.

Think about the primary motive in running this site; profits. Imagine how they can benefit from what they recommend.
Food for thought.

Quick question. I set up my d3 to mine on zpool yesterday and payout in btc, the only problem is that i forgot to put c=btc in the password field. i just did it today but it still shows i have a balance and didnt send anything yet to my wallet. what else do i have to do, if anything, to get paid for yesterday and todays partial balance?
PM also sent with question regarding btc payout. thank you
FYI you will only get paid the "Balance" portion. That's the amount you mined and is already back in the pools wallet as your payout type requested ready to send when the TX is appropriate via day/amount. You just need to wait for the payout to happen. They happen. I have yet to have a single issue with getting paid; and only maybe ~2-3 times ever has the payout been delayed for one reason or another. The rest of the time it comes as it is supposed to. Hopefully this is the info you are seeking.

that new MB with a million PCIE slots is nice for rig density; but at a certain point; you are asking for heartache.
One rig goes down; tons of hashrate goes down.
You still have the issue with power supplies and wattage draws with this many cards; but amplified 10 fold.
I like the new board with 6 very well spaced slots; and a built in processor on-board; I think it was ~$150USD.... That's a deal right there. It looks like you could fir 6x GPU with 2.1 slot spacing (like the larger EVGA ones) and still have room for them to breathe between them... but I could be wrong on my perspective given they are only photos to me so far and haven't had one in my hands.... but the price for sure is right for what you get, and it has multiple ATX power plugs for each supply you plan to run with it.... Id prefer 6 card density over 12+.... because the MB itself; doesn't really take up all that much space when you split that massive board's potential across separate machines. Given the amount of power supplies you would need; it makes sense to split them up for redundancy sake.

My 7x 1060 GTX GPU Rig is not functioning well. It ran fine for like 4 weeks. Now every time I turn it on, it starts mining like normally, but after a few minutes Im starting to smell plastic burning... there is no smoke however, and the GPU temps are fine <60C. The fans of the gpu's start to make very much noise, and the teamviewer connection gets lost. Then I have to force shutdown the system. Anyone knows whats up? Im afraid there got dust in my cards. Ive already blew them clean with a compressed air can....
riser melt = 90% sure examine them all Yep, check your risers. Also, check your PSU. you can figure out what device is the culprit by smelling them individually. Are you running a PSU with a ~20% overage on your total consistent wattage draw?
