1301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 04, 2023, 06:44:35 PM
They are inconsistent yes, because we are expecting them to lose and yet what we had witnessed was the opposite of our expectations.
Big win by the Suns, they really have that pride that they are a good team, sometimes they lose big, sometimes they win big, and it happened in this game.

And that's the usual Phoenix Suns being themselves, inconsistent and unpredictable, that is why they are able to win big time sometimes as teams in the league could be underestimating them because they are out of synch and rarely in a good condition. Still, I'd classify them as a risky team when it comes to betting on their games.

Sharing my picks for the games later,

Los Angeles Clippers -2.5 vs New York Knicks
Atlanta Hawks vs Denver Nuggets -6
1302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 04, 2023, 06:15:52 PM
That's for sure because this is a rare scenario and probably one of the most memorable play in the league because there will be another player who will pass Kareem's scoring title and that would take a lot of time before LeBron will get dethroned by someone in the next generations.

May take a while but maybe sooner. The way the game is being played right now, the scoring title can be over took sooner. We are seeing high scoring games lately and I barely see games with scores under 100. Stars are shooting 3s like it is just a perimeter shot. If this kind of game continues, a prolific scorer with a durable body will be able to do it.

Aside from that, the league is now improving and even the big guys now are shooting beyond the arc with high percentage. So different from what he saw back in the day because the big guys are focused to guard the center and doing the most physical play. And, I almost forgot, this season alone, it's quite unexpected that players are now easily putting 40-50 points in any given game.

Probably but the key is how consistent they will be in the future in order to beat that record to be set by Lebron before he retires. Even if this guys are scoring 40-50 points in any game but they are not that consistent, missing games and injuries it will be hard to break that record.

There are no one in the top 10 of the scoring leaders that are active, the closest is #14 who is Kevin Durant, and then Harden and Westbrook #27 and #28 on that list.

Yes, that too will determine if the next generations can somehow break LeBron James's record but I think that would take at least a decade from now because just like what you've said, the active guys down the line are far enough to even approach the Top 5 while Durant may be situated at the 10th place before he retires, still up to him if how consistent he is when he's much older later on.
1303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 25 in Saudi Arabia on: February 02, 2023, 08:36:54 PM
I think I’d rather be betting on whether or not this fight takes place. Tommy has ducked Jake so many times now, it seems more like he’s trolling Jake by accepting these fights. If they do fight though, I don’t think Tommy has a chance. I was watching some of his fight videos and he really doesn’t look like a pro fighter. Jake will probably be able to knock him out at which point I think KSI or Nate Diaz would be the next fights to make.

Fair point, and for that, Tommy still has another month to decide if whether he will continue to fight Jake or not. I know that this fight has been inked already but considering Tommy's past decisions towards this fight and Jake Paul in particular, it's not that far that he will make a run again and leave Jake in the air with the thoughts of finally having a bout with Tommy. But in any case, if this fight really pushes through, Jake Paul will eventually defeat Tommy Fury, no doubt.
Tommy is nothing compared to Jake Paul, so I’ll be rooting for Jake Paul too and leave Tommy in defeat. But if ever he’ll pull out from this fight again, that will only tell how coward he is so I guess he will really pursue this game especially that he’s now more motivated to fight because he’s now a father to his newborn daughter. Still, despite of the obvious result for this game, I would still love to watch these two inside the ring.

Expected for many fans that they choose Paul over Fury because he is famous also to many hype videos spreading about his trainings that's why they think about he have great advantage on this fight. But we shouldn't forget that Tommy Fury is experienced fighter as well he trained very well so we cannot take this easy including Paul because he might get defeated for expecting to much and taking this fight for granted. Maybe he's inspired about his daughter but it could also a distraction since maybe that can affect's Paul's training.

I got your point mate, Jake Paul is indeed too hyped enough and that's because he got a huge fan base on the social media which explains why are we seeing some reels about him and about his recent fights, even trainings. But c'mon, Tommy over Jake? I mean, that's possible though but Tommy's chances are actually slim than the latter to win the fight. Apart from that, their power difference is quite evident enough to see who got the upper hand.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 02, 2023, 08:15:09 PM
We will see in this match if Donaire can still fight on his usual and claim again another world title. If happened, he will be the older boxer to get a championship title.
Definitely he could fight and you are right I think he will try a few more fights before he decided to retire it would actually be a good thing to happen to win a championship at 40 but honestly it's would be a little bit difficult as Moloney is younger and faster, if Donaire would won this match it would be either on split decision and not by KO/TKO this is going to be an interesting match let's see if Donaire can still show his "The Flash" moves.

If this fight materialized then the best way for Donaire to beat Moloney is by KO/TKO. It will be hard for a 40-year-old fighter to win rounds en route to a decision victory. Donaire is not the Flash anymore according to his last fights. So Moloney will be the quicker fighter and will be winning rounds. While Donaire will wait for the counters or use his patience and timing to catch Moloney with his powerful hooks. My bet is Donaire by KO/TKO. The only way Donaire wins a decision against the younger Moloney is by knocking him down and hurting him several times and forcing the Australian into survival mode.

I got the same thought as well because Nonito Donaire is not that fast anymore like we used to see in the past and it's already evident enough that he's not that unpredictable already because his dad-days are already catching up with him and that also means that it's not good for Donaire to reach 10 rounds or a full 12-round fight because his stamina is not the same anymore like in the old days and that might give Moloney an advantage.

If Moloney will use that strategy then the winning chance of Donaire is slim, I agree that his dad-days is already affecting him and with that advantage Moloney can just do some Jabs and stay away from him.

He can just throw solid combinations and leave Donaire to chase him to try boxing him, the
only thing here is Moloney is also known to enjoy confrontations, a toe-to-toe action will give
Donaire a better chance of winning.

Well, if that will be the case in their fight then may the best man win because both of them seems to be enjoying a toe-to-toe fight and it will be a matter of who can give the stronger punch to make either one of them back out an inch and gain an advantage towards it. But I'm inclined that Moloney's camp are targeting to make the fight longer, so that Donaire will somehow lose his power when the fight starts dragging late.

I have the Warriors +10.5 against the Nuggets. What do you think about the spread? is it a gift or just a trap?

Warriors came from a disappointing loss, and might be tired going to this game but I don't think they'll lose in double-digit against the home team.
About injury, there's no announcement yet that one of their best players will not play, like Curry or Thompson.

So would you guys take the handicap?

It's now Warriors +12, it's quite tempting to bet the said game versus the Nuggets and I think I'll just bet on it live as well as the Lakers-Pacers game later.

For the Warriors situation, they just had a loss against the Wolves last time in OT and the reason for that spread is that the Splash Bros might rest as well as Green.

For now, this is my advance bet. Cleveland Cavaliers -6 vs Memphis Grizzlies.
1307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: February 01, 2023, 08:34:45 PM
Ethereum is the top altcoin on the market and has proven profitable for Investments especially since the last bull run. besides that this project also has a solid team and has been proven to have many fans and developers who use the platform to develop their projects, on the one hand this project has a strong community, so it's no wonder that many people believe and put some of their money in ethereum.
Many people turned away from investing in Ethereum due to the extra transaction fees of Ethereum. But Ethereum is a very trusted platform. So many people invest heavily in Ethereum despite the additional transaction fees.  I think Ethereum is better than other ALT coins for investment.  But its big problem is that for those who want to invest with small amount of money, investing in Ethereum will not be comfortable. But I think if the gas fee of ethereum can be normalized then the amount of investment in ethereum will increase a lot more.

Don't take this wrong but I have to correct you that Ethereum (ETH) is an altcoin, any coin that is an alternative of the bitcoin considered and labeled as an altcoin. Don't get confused about that mate.

Anyway, what you're saying is true as most investors are indeed looking away from ETH because their gas fee is too high and that gives the Binance an advantage because their platform offers a much cheaper transaction fee. But if the concern is for long-term holding, yes, it is safe to invest towards ETH and it's already forecasted that its value will go higher upon bitcoin's recovering status.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 01, 2023, 08:01:41 PM

No official date yet but it will be in the month of May. The venue is in Japan and it's the first time that Fulton will fight outside the USA.
Hopefully as soon as possible all of us who are here can see the date/day/month of boxing between Naoya Inoue vs Stephen Fulton.

Fulton has to be convincing if he wants to win this fight, I mean, it will be held in Japan, so the judges might favor Inoue if this will go to the judges scorecards. Inoue is known for knocking out his opponent early, so it's not expected to reach the judges scorecards, but just in case though.

Let's not think about that and just hope instead that this fight will push through without using of any influence that will make the fight unfair because of some favors. Inoue already got the homecourt advantage here and his camp, and even the entire nation of Japan is confident and rooting for the boxer to win. Besides, Inoue doesn't need any favor because he will always get the job done as I reckon, he's not planning in staying long in this weight class.

I definitely agree with you about that, while it's undoubtedly given that Naoya Inoue got the homecourt advantage here because the fight will happen at his country. I'm still positive the Inoue doesn't need that advantage or favor from his countrymen as I know that he got this handled and I can't think that Fulton will be able to give him that first defeat. Anyway, if I'm right, this bout will happen in Saitama again where his recent fights happened.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 01, 2023, 05:53:13 PM
I think Jake Paul will win here, Tommy Fury perhaps not ready for this fight mentally as he has somethings to keep him busy in personal life.

Arthur Beterbiev though, inserting his name: Artur Beterbiev would accept Jake Paul fight in seconds and says 'give me a call'!

Quote
Artur Beterbiev has urged Jake Paul to call him and arrange a bout after responding to a taunt from the YouTuber,

'The Problem Child' has infuriated the Russian WBC, IBF, and WBO light-heavyweight world title by saying he'd rather take on Beterbiev than his compatriot Dmitry Bivol. It's quite the claim, given the 38-year-old's punching power has seen him win all 19 fights via knockout.

So any case, this might end Jake Paul ascend to this whole exhibition matches. So it's better to stay away from Arthur, it's not a good call for Jake Paul next.

No doubt about that as well because Tommy is indeed not ready for this fight, not just mentally but physically as well. I bet he haven't have any rigorous preparations since the fight has been officially announced because he was busy lately and I reckon, he didn't expect that he will this kind of pressure where his family is pressuring him as well that he got to be fighting with his best.

Quote

I won't be surprised about that mate as Jake Paul will remain as is because no one from the inside the league will give him a chance to fight towards the rankings and be a full pledge boxer. And also, Jake wanted a money magnet fight and fighting a low-level inside his bracket won't get him interested. And wait, fighting Beterbiev? Oh please, I hope that will materialize so that we will have a new sight to see where he will be the one that will be kissing the canvass.

Let's make a fun poll, we haven't changed it for a while.

When will LeBron pass Kareem?

Feb. 4: at New Orleans Pelicans
Feb. 7: vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Feb. 9: vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Feb. 11: at Golden State Warriors
Feb. 13: at Portland Trail Blazers

https://www.nba.com/news/lebron-james-scoring-tracker
Just wild to think that seats during the Thunders game costs around $75k and I guess for the Bucks too and I think that's where LeBron will make a history passing Kareem. Just few more scores for LeBron for him to pass that greatness but it's still crazy to think that he is passing a guy that only made 1 goal at a three point line.

That's for sure because this is a rare scenario and probably one of the most memorable play in the league because there will be another player who will pass Kareem's scoring title and that would take a lot of time before LeBron will get dethroned by someone in the next generations.

At first, I had a thought that maybe LeBron will pass the record when they will be playing with the Bucks but learning that LeBron's just 80+ away from Kareem, I understand that he will break the record against the Thunders.

Here is my quick pick for today's game, going again with the favorites,

Cleveland Cavaliers VS Miami Heat

Stake odds for this game are 1.57 for the Cavaliers and 2.48 for the Heat,

New York Knicks VS Los Angeles Lakers

Stake odds for this game are 1.81 for the Knicks and 2.05 for the Lakers,

Chicago Bulls VS Los Angeles Clippers

Stake odds for this game are 2.26 for the Bulls and 1.67 for the Clippers,

Denver Nuggets VS New Orleans Pelicans

Stake odds for this game are 1.38 for the Nuggets and 3.15 for the Pelicans,

Seems to me that lots of us here are already looking forwards to see your advance picks because you just got a good day for having a perfect score, congratulations mate!

As of now, I'll just tail 2 bets just enough to cater my spare funds  Grin Clippers and Cavaliers all the way.

But for the Lakers and Knicks match-up, I think I'll go for the Lakers ML for now as King James is looking for a nice bounce back from their lost against the Celtics and Nets. I know the Knicks got a fresh feet now after having a 2-day rest but the for the Lakers carry, AD and LeBron might bring the team to a win.
1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: January 31, 2023, 07:18:38 PM
Cannot wait for Tommy Fury to knock Jake Paul out cold. Then we can stop pretending that Jake Paul is the next big thing in boxing and he will be exposed for the types of fights he has been setting up. I never liked the paul brothers because of some of the things they have done but talking purely on boxing Jake is a good amateur but he is not cut out for real boxers with experience. He will be exposed and I think Tommy Fury will be the one to do it.

I understand that you're annoyed and somehow furious towards the Paul Brothers because they are indeed setting up their own fight, but we should understand as well that if we're on their situation, I bet we will do the same thing and only grab a fight that gives us huge chances to win while taking advantage of the fans and fan bases on the internet that is supporting us.

But believing that Tommy can knock Jake Paul out or at lest defeat him by a way of unanimous decision? Well, that's quite possible indeed but the chances are somehow slim because if you truly watch boxing and watch their fights, you should know by now that Tommy can't really defeat Jake Paul.
1314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 30, 2023, 12:06:24 PM
The head ref admitted they missed a call, however, it was not stated if he was penalized for the huge mistake he did.
NBA head referee admits missed call in Lakers-Celtics game
It would not be hard to penalize them since they already admitted on their mistake. However, I don't think it will result in a dismissal from work, they might be suspended but will just come back to continue their job. Not sure if it's an honest mistake or was intentional, but sure it's hard to convince people that it's an honest mistake.

It's a lesson learned that they have to do their job well, I understand that they are not perfect but you know how upset the Lakers especially Lebron who could have that winning shot.
The public are watching the game, and of course they are well aware of what the refs are doing, we have bettors as well who loss money on that game because of the refs mistake.
1315  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: January 30, 2023, 09:45:18 AM
Depends on trader's experience, if you are good at trading crypto markets then answer is bitcoin trading. If you have confidence you can make it better on stock markets, the potential ROI will be higher on second option. Anyways, long term investing is best choice and stock market investment can't go wrong if you know what you are doing, IMHO. My suggestion is to try both markets and check results for making long term strategies.
As beginners who really don't have any experience in this field, trying them both is the best option. Both of them are risky and also profitable but this will depend on us - the way we manage it and the way we make decisions.

I preferred trading over the stock market because I was exposed to it and it seems to be a good place to stay. Yes, we have to choose the kind of business that we are comfortable with but sometimes we also need to try for another field, maybe we are good at it also. And I believe that investing in the stock is worth trying, in fact, many known names are doing this.
1316  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise described as false bull on: January 30, 2023, 09:17:16 AM
It's not a false bull or bull trap, as the tendency is already lasting for a whole month, and probably it will. I believe if it were a trap it wouldn't have lasted for longer than one week. Bitcoin is retaking its previous position from last year, before the time seasonal holidays started, that is usually when people cashout their funds to travel and buy gifts, consequently crashing BTC. However, there can be bull traps soon on Bitcoin's way towards superior price ranges, such as 40,000$ and 50,000$.
still early to say either this is Bull run or Bull trap mate because we have seen  something like this before but after a strong growth ? yet it dumped and there are many who had been trapped inside .
but of course with this shows of force from Bitcoin supporters now, we can still have big faith that this is a legit bull run.
and also calling this as false bull is an overstatement , because there is no concrete proof that had been showing this claim.
Whatever it is, whether it is a fake Bullrun or not, at least we see the price of Bitcoin increasing which I think was satisfying enough that we don't have t lose our faith but rather make it strong. I was expecting this kind of market sentiment after bear season, short pumps can happen. But we never expect that the market had already recovered, we are just about to start and accumulation seems growing which triggers the price surge as well. We will wait until the 2nd quarter, if the momentum keeps on - that can be going to be bullish.
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of NFT on: January 29, 2023, 07:49:18 AM
In the past few years, the popularity of NFT has been relatively good. Although it is not as well-known as Bitcoin, many people are loyal fans of NFT and are not interested in other cryptocurrencies. I also have several free NFTs, which I think are monumental and cannot be measured by price.
Only last year that NFT had a boom and perform so well which attracts investors and due to bigger demand the price soared high. But it was just a short time, the popularity has been going slow due to scams and non-profitable NFTs until such time that investors rejected them. For now, only a few of these projects are left for survival but I'm not sure how this be going this year.
Honestly, I don't have the guts to invest in NFT, not I see them having potential. I'd rather choose Bitcoin and a few altcoins than risk money from non-reliable projects.
1318  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 29, 2023, 07:00:16 AM
Budgeting is an important thing to keep us going, especially since economic conditions are getting more difficult, for example due to the influence of a recession or unexpected things due to the pandemic that happened 2 years ago, I think after we make budgeting, the next step is to do what has been set, don't be too easy spending money especially for things that are not useful such as consumption, fashion, gadgets or other unimportant things.
Spending on non-essentials is not quite a priority this time but can't just sacrifice ourselves to experience being happy as well as having those things, just consider this as a reward. Because as long as we won't overspend all your earnings/savings and not all the time been doing, that is not a problem. Budgeting is not hard to comply with as long as we are also serious about doing this and we are clear about what we wanted to happen. And should be discussed with our family if ever we have one so they will also understand and no way they would complain us back.

After multiple failed attempts to get Tommy Fury in the ring, the moment of truth has finally arrived.

Fumbles has no excuses now. Baby is born. Money is massive. Immigration is not an issue. Sunday February 26, Paul vs Fury is live on ESPN+ PPV in the US and BT Sport Box Office in the UK.

Tyson Fury has promised he and Papa John will make Tommy retire from boxing and change his last name forever if he can’t beat the YouTuber. Saturday (tomorrow) I’m coming to London to look at all three Fury’s in the eye and shake on that promise.

I wonder if all three Fury's will be involved in the build up like last time. That will certainly add some spice to things. I'm looking forward to it either way. There's a lot on the line for both of them as someone is likely going to lose their undefeated title (assuming no draws which I could actually see if it's close which it might well be). I think there's more pressure on Tommy now especially if Tommy's family reiterates that they will disown him or urge he quits if he loses.

Tommy Fury will not run out of excuse if his aim is to leave Jake Paul hanging as the fight schedule approaches near, he might not decide now but he still have some days to back out as it's not new anymore if he will run again. Although, there's a good chance that this fight will be pushed through especially after saying that fact where the Fury family will disown him if he will suddenly quit again and if he will be lost, the family will pressure him to quit for good. But for a draw? I don't think that will happen this time, Jake Paul won't agree with that as this is already quite personal to him.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 28, 2023, 02:45:52 PM
That super champion is the shortcut for Inoue to move up and be the top contender on the next weight division.  We may call it perk or advantage but still, it is a shortcut because he is cutting lines of the top contender on that division to fight for the title bout.

I don't think we can consider it a shortcut. Cutting lines on other contenders? Honestly, Inoue is already overqualified that's why it just makes sense for him to be up against a champion already at the Super Bantamweight. Again, 118 to 122 doesn't really have that difference that's why it should be obvious that Inoue, after moving up to 122 as a unified bantamweight champion with no loss record, can consider a top contender already at that weight.

Honestly, just be grateful since Bob Arum agrees to negotiate this fight as early as Inoue moved up since as we know, Arum's Top Rank doesn't really do business with PBC. They gave the fans the most requested fight once Inoue moved up and we will now witness it in a few months.

Well explained, indeed! Yes, it can't be considered as a shortcut because Naoya Inoue has earned the rights because he managed to be the undisputed boxer at 118 lbs. and it's not that he got helped by anyone who got influence, he himself is the reason why he got the chance to fight Steph Fulton right away. Bob Arum and WBO just helped to pave way to make this fight happen. In fact, this is rare because we know that PBC and Top Rank doesn't have any good relation ship and Bob Arum doesn't want a direct fight with the champion specifically if it's a first time for a boxer to step on that division.
