961  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Taking loan for investment can be life threatening on: March 26, 2023, 07:36:36 AM
Your uncle has made two wrong decisions in Cryptocurrency investing. First he took a loan, secondly he entrusted the money to be managed by someone else. Cryptocurrency investment is a very risky activity, every money that goes into it is not guaranteed to return intact.

What if the value of the money invested decreases or even runs out as a result of the coins being purchased have no selling value. If my assumption occurs, your uncle is responsible for repaying the loan taken, while his friend will never care about the loss that befell him.
Investing with borrowed money is not recommended, because there are so many risks that might occur, especially if the money is managed by someone else.
Loan is never an option for me because I don't entrust my plans with it, based on the high volatility of the market. There's 50/50 chances of both losses and profits. It's considerate to map out solid planning before taking decision on the market rather than waking up one morning and take a drastic decision on the market which you will leave to regret later on. Investing in cryptocurrency is a risky decision to take because it's not a get rich quick scheme rather it's for passive income. We invest what we can afford to lose not what we get us into trouble if the project doesn't go as planned.
That is why before investing, it is already on our mind that crypto investment can't assure a profit and so we never expect much with this. However, we change it if we can do it better and are able to wait for the perfect timing. So if we are taking a loan and giving assurance to the lender that we can pay on time, we better not do it as it only compromised our promises and even turn to stress about where to get money to pay our debts. In order to avoid this, we better save our extra money and use it as it was the best option in this kind of investment.
962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 25, 2023, 07:33:24 PM
As I have said previously here that Tank is going to train in Mayweather's gym, suddenly he tell us that it's no longer the case,

Quote
Goaded by Garcia during a twitter spat on Tuesday, Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) divulged that Mayweather banned the southpaw star from using his facilities.

“What? That Floyd’s petty ass said I couldn’t use his gym anymore. I don’t give a f---!” Davis wrote in a now deleted tweet.

https://www.boxingscene.com/tank-davis-says-mayweather-barred-him-from-using-gym-ahead-ryan-garcia-fight--173285

Maybe it's true, maybe not, and we don't know what is the intention of Floyd to banned Tank as we thought that everything is cool between the two even if Davis didn't renew his contract with Mayweather. Or maybe this is just to hype the fight more, but doesn't make sense since this is obviously one of the biggest fight of the year already.

On the same article, it's not just Ryan Garcia who revealed it as it looks like Gervonta Davis also confirmed the claim afterwards that Floyd Mayweather Jr. indeed banned the latter from entering and using any facilities inside Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now, just like what you've said, it's not disclosed why Tank was banned and why now? Fight is already nearing and Tank could really use some help by setting up his camp inside his former promoter's gym.

Anyway, sooner or later, we will know what's the root of this as I know that Tank Davis and his camp will release a statement as they don't like to be portraited as bullied in the social media.

It's not that a bad issue though, Davis already says that they are ban, so they might as well look for other gym in the area. Maybe Floyd is still hurt by Tank leaving him, or this is just a tactic by Davis or maybe this is not true at all.

And this is not going to affect the fight, maybe Ryan thinks he got the last laugh because of this, but for sure, doesn't matter for Tank and his trainer as they can adjust and maybe hire an another facilities to train close doors for this big fight.

Possibly there is another reason about this sudden issue about them, I really thought that they are still in good terms because Mayweather Jr. managed to get himself attached into this fight to make any money towards the fight as he named in one of the 3 organizers of this fight. There might be changes of terms that led Mayweather from banning Davis, we don't know. Nevertheless, this will not affect Davis's preparation for the fight and Mayweather won't be a factor if incase he's struggling when the fight begins.

Just surprising news though, I mean I also surprised to see Leonard Ellerbe (Floyd's Manager), behind Tank Davis during their the very first conference when they officially had this fight announce and then Tank himself says that he is going to used Floyd's gym. But then this week, when he was pressed by Ryan Garcia he revealed that he is ban, so it's hard to read between the line. But as we have said, this might be just s small setback for Tank, however, there are a lot of gyms around that he can used for himself.

Funny thing is that we're curious enough to know why did Floyd Mayweather Jr. banned Gervonta Davis from entering his facilities in Las Vegas, what we know recently is that they are in a pretty relationship now because we saw Leonard Ellerbe in the conference, but things have gone messed up when Tank is ready to set his camp at Floyd's gym. That really makes me wonder why, out of all the time, why now?
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Given an option between Bitcoin and Fiat which do you prefer? on: March 25, 2023, 05:57:39 PM

As a bitcoin enthusiast having the knowledge of bitcoin and it's potentials compared to the fiat as a local currency and means of exchange or payment for services rendered what is your take and preference on it? And how long do you think it will take for bitcoin to be accepted as a digital legal tender world wide?

I don't think that the choice between fiat and bitcoin should be so tough. Without fiat, we still can not do. After all, even the price of bitcoin is valued in fiat. The national currency of the states as a whole is tied to the material values of the state, which may be in circulation. Therefore, no matter how much the cryptocurrency spreads, fiat will not disappear anywhere. States under no circumstances will not give up their national currencies. Cryptocurrency can only occupy a certain niche in the financial sector of the global economy and be a good alternative to the current fiat system.

Correct! Why would you guys crack your minds just to answer this kind of question, of course, both are important and choosing which one of this is more important or preferred possession is not like we're choosing what to eat in breakfast. It's not like that.
Bitcoin has its own reason why it is important to us today, for most, bitcoin will be give us a certain hedge against inflation and as a form of investment. We can't just take out fiat and let bitcoin rule the whole currency.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 25, 2023, 03:08:08 PM
^ An important game for them (the Lakers) tomorrow as they go up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who they are tied with for the last play-in tournament spot along with the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers winning this game would give them a little separation and maybe take off a little of the pressure of not making the play-in tournament at least.

They really need this one here because they kind of wasted their chance when they lost to Mavericks and the Rockets last time. Looks like this one is not easy either and they really need to play this game as if it's a crucial game to proceed in the playoff series because this is not a joke anymore when they lose more games and also they will gonna lose their chance to participate in the play-in tournament if the other teams will surprisingly take their spot with some few wins away.

Yeah, with few remaining games every win counts in each team who are aiming to move on to the next round.

Lakers still have that chance either to move into playoff or have a chance into another play-inn and take some chances to move forward.

I would like to see them winning while LeBron is still at rest. The chemistries are very important, as they needed each other's help and not
just to rely on stars like LeBron and Davis.

And they succeed again on their campaign to participate in the games in the post-season as they have defeated the Oklahoma City Thunders earlier without LeBron and D'Lo on the hardwood. Anthony Davis led the game and performed an impressive stats with over 70% FG while contributing 30+ points to earn the team another win. The league has gotten more and more interesting as games continues to get fewer each day.

About the Dallas Mavericks, they are now on the 11th seed in the West. Their chance has gotten thinner and thinner each day as they are now on their 3rd consecutive defeat.
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 24, 2023, 08:53:24 PM
So I started this thread last year and it's nearly 5 months already and there is no deal yet between Spence and Thurman? That leads to the assumption as to how hard it is to reach an agreement with Spence. First, he killed the potential undisputed fight with Crawford who's been waiting for nearly a year for nothing. Now the WBC is giving Spence the favor to fight a very popular but out of his prime opponent which includes a crazy VIP treatment of making the fight at 154. Errol Spence is getting annoying.

Now the WBO is mandating Crawford to face Rocha. I just hope the WBA and IBF will do the same since Spence seems not serious about the WBC mandatory on Thurman. I really hope Spence gets ktfo so badly in his next fight, boxing is better without him.
Yes it's been 5 months but for now there's no final announcement yet but I think if this fight will came through then it's will good  as we can see that A lot of people around the world who want to watch a good and close fight and for sure these two fighter will give us . But for now it's hard to say that Spence and Thurman will fight in the ring. And about Spence then I don't think so if we really want to fight strong fighters.

It really seems to me that Errol Spence Jr. is just messing with everyone else's time without any intention to make a fight happen, in a recent article that I've read about this Spence-Thurman fight, they are saying that they are targeting the fight somewhere in April but up until now there's no official announcement that a fight is indeed happening at the forecasted month. Surely they need over a month to market the fight, so it's safe to say that there will no fight happening in April.

Moreover, Errol Spence Jr. is not afraid to cancel this fight because there's no belt at risk, so there will be no stripping of belts that will happen. This kind of boxer shouldn't be supported, I know he got talents but this is too much, he doesn't deserve to have belts if this is way to keep them safe.
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 24, 2023, 07:38:35 PM
Maybe I'm not clear, Casimero still has his chance to fight Inoue only if he won the fight against Butler. But the Butler fight didn't happen because of the weight issues on Casimero. So if he just make the weight on the scheduled first fight and win, maybe we have seen the Casimero vs Inoue already. However, even in the rescheduled fight, he still missed the weight or was caught still trying to lose weight in sauna by the BBBoC, hence the fight with Butler was cancelled and he was replaced by another Filipino who lost to Butler. And so the Butler vs Inoue happen, and if by chance Casimero made the weight in the second fight, he should be the one facing Inoue. So still boils down to Casimero not making the said weight that deter the fight happening between him and Inoue.

That was supposed to be the best undisputed fight if Casimero had been able to meet the weigh-in requirements. I think his team was unaware that they were violating the rules, so it's not that he didn't make the weight requirement - he was disqualified, which gave Butler the opportunity to get the belt against a weaker opponent.

However, we all witnessed the kind of quality Butler has as a boxer. He is not on the level of Inoue and Casimero yet.

Yes, it's a missed opportunity for John Riel Casimero, but he has move forward to the same weight as Casimero is right now. So there is a chance that they could meet in the future as well.

Nevertheless, time is running out for Casimero, Inoue is hurt and so this fight is postponed. So Casimero might wait for another full year to have a chance against Inoue and he needs to win more in 122 lbs as well.

I believe it was the opposite thing where John Riel Casimero didn't missed an opportunity to have a supposed match-up with Naoya Inoue because even if let's say Casimero wasn't found cheating from the rule book and managed to defeat Paul Butler, Casimero will again face the fact that he's already too heavy for the bantamweight division and it might give him struggles again in the next weigh-in that will probably be a reason why an undisputed fight will not happen. Before that, we are not even sure that Casimero will pass the weigh-in against Butler.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 24, 2023, 05:16:05 PM
The passion for football never goes down, but the fitness is the one that makes things work in favour of his passion. These players will keep up the fitness level high, but age really matters when the young players enter. Ronaldo can make tricks and his technical games, but to stand level to the young ones into the team will be hard for him. This is just an assumption, we don't know how young is his mind for the upcoming World Cup. As said playing for the clubs is different from playing for the nation. The legendary ones preparing the young ones for the world cup will be more interesting than their participation.

Nowadays age is mostly a psychological thing. Medical technology has advanced so much, and trainers are able to keep players away from wear and tear for extended durations. I have watched Ronaldo playing for Al Nassr in the Saudi Professional League recently. At no point I got an impression that he is getting aged. But the Portugal national team coach, as well as those in Manchester United used this excuse to mistreat him. In the end, he got fed up and decided to pack his bags and move to somewhere he is valued more.

It's their loss and not Ronaldo's but if we look at it closely, Portugal also got themselves a vacancy to occupy another good and young player. I know Ronaldo can still make a lot of difference despite his age but in the long run, his career is already coming to an end and Al Nassr coincidentally gave him a chance to lead his own team with a good paycheck. Apart from that, Saudi with Greece and Egypt is looking forward to host the 2030 World Cup and it seems that Ronaldo will be a part of that, not for a player position but for something else.
We can just agree that Ronaldo with not be able to play the next world cup competition that is coming up soon because of his age and strength to play football. Ronaldo still have the zeal to keep playing football and I like him for that. He is such an enthusiastic player that would not mind going for more training to make sure that he get fit to add more goals to his record. Even at his age, he's ready to create more records and win medals irrespective of his age and body strength to keep playing for his club. People tend to compare Ronaldo to Messi but I wouldn't do that because they are two separate players.

I think nobody is comparing the two players, what we are trying to say here is that we might've saw both players last appearance in World Cup because even if we say that both are still capable and so enthusiastic in the sport, there will be always a time that both of them need to give their farewell to the sport because even if they will still like to play, their body just cannot handle it especially in the intense games. As of now, they sure can still play impressively, but when they start to step on their 40s, I really doubt if that is still the case.
968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 24, 2023, 03:22:53 PM

However, similar to what I have said, it can be argued that he might become the face of boxing if he wins this fight. The same argument can be created for Ryan Garcia. I also reckon that it would leave a bigger impression on the fans if Ryan Garcia is the winner. The occurrence might be compared to Muhamad Ali versus Sonny Liston where Ali was the underdog hehehe.

By the present standard, no you have to be charismatic and people love you and there should be no competition, both of them can make a claim, but they have to rule their division and become its undisputed champion and you must have a claim to be pound for pound the best boxer of that time.
Fury, Inoue, and Haney can make a claim on that title if they want to have a claim of the title, this is a good start, then after that, the winner has to face Haney.

The boxers that has been mentioned can of course make some statement like they will be the next face of the industry, however, before they can do that in reality, they should prove it first by dominating the whole division and do a clean-up just like the guys who previously got the pound-for-pound title. But since Devin Haney is not yet bound for a mandatory fight and given that he can defeat Loma, I'm thinking that the undisputed fight will face Shakur Stevenson next as that's what he want and then the winner of Tank-Garcia will have to wait until it's their turn.

Denver Nuggets -6 vs Washington Wizards = WIN
Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks ML = LOST
Philadelphia 76ers -3 vs Chicago Bulls = WIN
Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Lakers ML = WIN

Got lucky enough to with the games earlier as I managed to get 3/4 bets right. That Dallas was somehow unexpected because Kyrie Irving didn't play, Luka badly needed him.

For the games later, here's mine.

New York Knicks -3.5 vs Orlando Magic
Cleveland Cavaliers -3.5 vs Brooklyn Nets
Oklahoma City Thunder ML vs Los Angeles Clippers

And with the Grizzlies winning and Kings losing, Memphis now separated from the tie with them, so now they are occupying the second spot behind Denver Nuggets.
Quite impressive for the Grizzlies because it has been expected that they will be having some struggles because Ja Morant is not yet playing and there's no Adams as well to support the team inside the paint. But the Grizzlies showed that they are not that weak even without Morant and even replaced the Kings in the 2nd place.

And they could maintain that same spot up until the season officially ends because if we look at it closely, the Grizzlies are just too difficult to overcome even without one of their core player which is Ja Morant and considering that they really managed to hold the team together, they could potentially end their last 10 games with over 5 wins at least. Other than that, Ja Morant may return before this season ends, so that gives them more chances to maintain their spot.
971  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today on: March 22, 2023, 07:44:51 PM
Well, yes, bitcoin can indeed end someone's poverty because it will be such a huge help for that family to lift themselves from the slum and give their children the right education by going to school where they can afford it the most. But unfortunately, that's just too easy to say than done because even if it's already a fact that bitcoin can truly make peoples lives comfortable, these people who are below the poverty line doesn't have the chance to invest into bitcoin even if they want to because there's just no extra funds for them to do that as they are already having a hard time by feeding themselves as much as 3 times a day or at least buy a medicine if someone in their household is sick.

2. By chance Spence lost this fight and maybe go for a rematch
Hopefully if this scenario happens, Spence will be forced to risk his belt(s)

Do you mean Spence will stake his belts for the rematch with Thurman if he loses here? What will be forced is, Spence will risks his belt at 147 and might possibly face Crawford although as I said previously, there might not a chance now to see Spence fighting at 147 due to some problems.

I mean that's not possible since if the rematch will happened with Thurman, it will still be in 154 and his titles are all in 147.

I don't know though the rules of what will happen if let's say, Spence will ask for a rematch with Thurman and if he's still eligible to do that without vacating all his titles at 147. I think that's a rare case to happen or I just missed some same scenario in boxing history.

What I think is that we might see a different scenario once Thurman is able to defeat Spence at 154, there's a strong chance that the latter will ask for a rematch but since a rematch clause wasn't written on their contract (I suppose), Thurman has the choice to decline the offer if there's no belts at risks. And if a rematch won't materialize, Spence has two choices, first is he will vacate his belts at 147 and second is that he will defend his belt at 147 with a risk of facing the boxers he ducked. And this time, I think that their influence won't be used even if they wanted to because the WBC is already under criticism because of this fight.

If I will be on the shoes of Keith Thurman, I certainly wouldn't give Errol Spence a chance of a rematch in-case if I win especially if there are no belts on the line as it will be a total waste of time and preparations will be redundant. Thurman knew that he has to chase the right people in-order to grab the belts but considering Spence's behavior after he got the 3-belts, it's somehow convincing enough that he won't be giving the belts easily.

Might be, but they are under the same promotional company in PBC, so there is a good chance that they are going to be a rematch if Spence losses to Thurman. Of course, Thurman might get the bigger share or at least 50/50 split in the rematch.

However, not sure if Thurman will allow this happen, maybe if he was caught by a lucky punch and then go down and knockout. But if the score went to judges scorecard, maybe they will give Spence the benefit as he is one of the cash cow right now.

Yes, there's a chance it could happen and there's a chance that it wouldn't because Al Haymon no matter how powerful he is now in the industry, he still cannot force Thurman to fight Spence again for a rematch. He should understand that the man is not trying make his name anymore, he is now chasing the belts because he doesn't have that much time anymore. And at least 50/50 if in case Thurman upsets Spence? Surely, that's something that Thurman would not agree, he knows his worth.
973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 22, 2023, 06:29:59 PM
There could be some attractive odds for Inoue to win by KO or by Decision.

Of course a Fulton win by any other method is going to be high, but that's tough for him. But if we will go right now with a bet on Inoue, might be good by KO or by Decision. By KO because we all have seen the destructive power of Inoue and even if he is going up in weight, he might carry it with him. And if Fulton is really that tough not to crack for Inoue, he could also win by decision.

Fulton to win via decision is pretty decent, maybe I'll throw some few bucks on his favor. But my main bet is for Naoya Inoue to win via KO and not decision because that's just highly unlikely to me. Considering his past fights, regardless if the boxer is champion or not, he's got more wins via KO than decision and that's enough for me to believe that this fight will likely to end with the same outcome. KO @ 2.37 is frankly good enough.

Not sure whether Antoine Griezmann and Giroud are going to welcome this decision, but Mbappé completely deserves this. He was exceptional during Qatar 2022. And he represents the future for France. What is the point in making someone in their mid-30s the captain? In that case after a few years, again they need to search for the new captain. In case of Mbappé, he is already captaining a very high-quality side (Paris Saint-Germain F.C.). Captaining the French national team is not going to be too much of a challenge for him.

The leadership of team shouldn't be based on only skills or on the pitch performance. Leadership requires some outstanding qualities such as patience, courage, team playing and tolerance. I think Mbappe lacks most of these leadership skills. It is possible that he can learn on the job but for me he is not matured for the headship of the French team. Sometimes he behaves very childish and selfish.

But in terms of influence, Mbappe has it. The striker is one of the best players in the world. He could use his influence to intimidate match officials and make them favor the French team. But I hope other older player will be humble enough to respect him. There is a possibility that there might be division in the French team if he is not effective.

That's somehow expected because after all, Kylian Mbappé is still 24 years old and he's not yet on that phase where he will get matured, and will be ready to lead the team. He still needed more exposures from the games and with a proper guidance, step by step, he will be molded into a much better player that will have the characteristics of being a leader. These things can't be taught overnight, the team needs to believe in him first so that soon enough, Mbappe will be a full package kind of player.

I didn't expect the Celtics to be that dominating on the road against the 2nd seeded Kings. Well, they have one of the best road records this season, so that says it all. Anyway, Tatum and Brown combined for 63 points, and all 5 of their starters are in double figures. On the other hand, Sabonis got a triple double, but the offense isn't enough for the team to win.

What a tough game but the Celtics still figured out a way to dominate the home team, folks, we are now witnessing a much different Celtics compared to the team last season. They are much more tougher, wiser and stronger now. This upcoming playoffs will surely be fun because aside from the Celtics, a lot of teams are hungry and some new faces again.

Anyway, I lost my Wizards ML yesterday but the Cleveland covered it enough for me. Anyway, here's my advance picks.

Denver Nuggets -6 vs Washington Wizards
Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks ML
Philadelphia 76ers -3 vs Chicago Bulls
Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Lakers ML

Philadelphia 76ers -7.5 - Double Overtime. I thought I had a chance to still cover the spread but when Embiid was fouled out, I lost hope to see one win out of my 3 bets. Anyway, that's one heck of a game too, and credits to Chicago Bulls for putting up a fight until their last energy.

I failed on this bet as well but yes, credits for Chicago Bulls for giving the 76ers a hard time in all 4 quarters as the Bulls big three seems to be working well together in the game yesterday. They've had a combined score of 72 points which makes up almost three-fourths of the 76ers total score. In the Sixers side, they performed well too and gave the Bulls a good game and it's just that Harden was having a bad night.

Here's my advance picks for the games later.

Washington Wizards ML vs Orlando Magic
Cleveland Cavaliers -3 vs Brooklyn Nets
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Clippers -6

Reason why some are going to skip the fight because the odds are not worth it, or just bet on other boxing events.

But in any case, I think everyone wanted to see Inoue winning against Fulton and become a champion again.

The odds for Inoue are all worth it. Bookies are just trying to trick us here, but obviously Inoue will win this without a problem. The fact that it's over 2+ makes this an opportunity that should not be wasted, and I don't want to see people blaming themselves for not taking Inoue's odds this time. Actually, I'm thinking that as the fight approaches, the odds might change, so the opportunity is slowly decreasing.

Nothing could really pinpoint of what is the reason for the current pump and I don't know if we should really think about it. Because not all pumps (and dumps) should always have that and we have to consider the volatility of the market as it was expected to see the abrupt change in price trends at any time.
However, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine soon ended which is also a factor affecting the increasing demand in the crypto market. And the other thing to consider as a contributor to the current pump is the recovering economic status of major countries.

Hello i just want to ask if i you guys also notice when the bitcoin rise there are also a lot of new projects come out and if bitcoin fall there are only few projects build, is it because some projects developer notice that most of the successful projects are build in bull market and most of the projects build on bear market are failed? Or they don't care about bull and bear market and they build thier project because the time is already been set?
They always come out whether it was a bull season or a bear market. But yes, we usually notice them during the bull market because of their unexpected and surprising price spike which could really gain attention and sometimes we could ask ourselves why not seen this coin before. But this kind of project just pops out during the bull reason will surely have gone after hitting their ATH which eventually causes major losses to the investors,
