My feeling is that based on network topology different fanout levels need to be used in addition to some integration of historical probabilities. When the network is relatively small, we an err on the side of larger values, but at the larger scale it will be important to be as efficient as possible. One approach I am thinking of is to just use an adaptively adjusted fanout factor, eg. shrink it if it worked, expand it if it didnt. this would end up jittering around the optimum level and once there is enough history to add a bit of headroom to the critical value.

Errr, whatever you say James. Whatever you say!  Smiley
1305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: September 20, 2014, 08:28:49 PM
The Cointropolis is gone and is nowhere to be seen recently. As for GoCoin, they posted on twitter they were integrating NXT, but looks like they don't consider this a priority and has other business to do. Guess they can be written off as a failed annoucement at this point. Fortunately, there are other interesting developments in NXT.

Is there a summary of what happened with cointropolis?

Thanks

If its John we are referring to, he over-cooked the Nxt rhetoric. He pissed off too many people with his 'style'. He didn't deliver at all, on his listed asset. He got hacked and used, by an opportunist scammer.....and eventually must of concluded Nxt was not for him, and disappeared.

First off, it is very very unlikely his issue with not being able to enter text into a text field is related to Counterwallet problems. Second of all, we don't know whether his 'missing' BTC are actually missing, have been matched in an order, or anything else. To fix these issues, more information is required.

If you guys are crypto literate and want things to get better, please submit detailed reports of your bugs.
And the ones who are not literate?

You are making my point, for me.

Please add a BTSX/NXT trading pair.

Yeah...that could be a laugh. I second devphps proposal.

Guys. Go and make a thread where you can talk about price. Its pretty boring to read, when there's much more to understand and follow.

parker928's experience IS replicated over and over again, without doubt, and is the very reason i personally have been banging on about the client/protocol only being attractive to geeky users who get a kick out of understanding the back-end mechanics, OR, for a company/business to make use of and develop for their own ends.
Again, the technical nature of this excludes a huge demographic either by bamboozling them, boring them, or like me and parker928, completely frustrating them to the point of annoyance.

Again, again, the Devs (and patient others) will be answering people like parker928 for eternity, until the Devs mum and dad are able to make a simple trade without turning to their son/s for guidance.......you have asked your family to engage with the client, while you watch them, haven't you Devs???

What part of 'dont engage with trolls' are you having problems with/understanding?

What's with all the Jerrod "trucoin" retweets?

Don't tell me that has anything to do with him, I will flip out.

Yep, it's true.
Jerrod is VP of Biz Dev at TruCoin.

So he scammed us and started a clone company.

It's just totally unreasonable and unacceptable at this point to not even properly address BTCQuick holders.

Statdude,

Wow un-fucking believable.   This is actually insane.  I am going to write letters to every employee at TruCoin detailing his BTC Quick Scam.  I might send letters to all of his family members as well.
The gall of it.   Cry  Unbelievable.

Who else is involved here, and why the hell would they taint themselves with Jerrod's past failures?
1314  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btcQuick.com Feedback Thread on: August 24, 2014, 07:47:54 AM
Wait a minute... Why are we DOXin Jerrod? He took off with people's coin or something? I'm confused... I haven't used this service in a long time, but I've purchased well over 15k worth of BTC from btcquick and had no issues...

Can someone let people know what the hell is going on???

And you forgot the Twitter. That was the primary way to contact him. I created a twitter account just to keep tabs of their supply and to check my order if it were delayed for some reason. You'll see a tweet from me demanding my 5btc, lol. Oh, the good old days. Smiley

I dont understand yet, why this has come back around, and i will delete this post if the shareholders and BTCQuick have subsequent agreement/s in place i am not aware of....but at the time, his shareholders didnt receive anything close to a clear breakdown of his business revenues. Therefore, you could only conclude that funds were being siphoned off by him, and shared between himself and Marco Santori in the shape of a retainer.

Stereotype/ Lucky Cris,

Jerrod did two illegal things with his BTCQuick scam.

1. He sold unregistered securities
2. He stole 100% of the investors money

There is an ongoing investigation with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies Division of Securities.

I am working with stock security & fraud lawyers to start litigation against him and the company.

I am also planning on filing a complaint this week with the SEC.

Oh. Interesting. Good for you.
I was a shareholder, but wrote off what i was eventually left with, as it wasn't a large amount in the end. My interest in this regard, was always, how much Mr Santori profited from this, and how ethical/legal his involvement actually was.

Wish you well, with this.

1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - LAUNCHED! on: August 23, 2014, 02:57:41 PM
We have now reached the deadline for the ultimatum we previously issued to the Syscoin team, and while we are entering in to a review period; we have made the following preliminary decision (that is subject to change).

Our preliminary decision is that we will not be refunding the coin, but with the agreement of the Syscoin development team, will be changing release and development schedules moving forward. This decision will either be confirmed (or rejected and modified) publicly at 6PM GMT on Tuesday 26th August, 2014. While we could make the decision in full now (which would be to not refund), this review period will also include us engaging with various members of the community, over the best course of action to take. Please do not scream FUD at us, engage with us constructively.

While the launch of the coin was fraught with issues, the coin still launched. It worked at first, albeit erratically - and before the blockchain and daemon encountered severe issues, was in a usable state. This was not the case for everybody, but it was the case for many. At this stage, because initial obligations were met, we moved in to the inspection period (originally intended to last 72 hours). During this period, the coin encountered a number of major issues and became non-usable very rapidly.

As a result of this, and general public opinion, we issued a deadline-based ultimatum to the Syscoin team in regards to steps that need to be taken in order to ensure that funds would be released. If they took no action or made no progress, then they wouldn't be seeing a single satoshi. If they made good progress, we would re-review. We are now at the end of the ultimatum window, and we have made an initial judgement based on what the developers of the coin have done, and what they are continuing to do.

However, we are not comfortable to release the funds in full to the developers at this stage, and have put the following agreement to the Syscoin team. We are putting, and will be putting our own resources on the line in order to help protect the supporters of the coin, and encourage general adoption of this. I personally have faith in this coin, despite the abysmal launch - though this did not play a part in my decision.

Clause 1
Staggered release of funds.

The escrowed funds will not be released in full. They will be released in 6 monthly payments. The first payment will be for 250 BTC once this agreement is made formal, and then there will be an additional 200 BTC released each month for the next five months. At the end of this period, the Syscoin accrued during the early buy walls, will also be released. Release each month will be subject to the developers actively working on the coin, and making good progress in any necessary areas (to be determined on a monthly basis).

Clause 2
Moolah to support developers.

Moopay LTD will provide the Syscoin development team with access to our team of developers, for assistance with development issues, for a period of 6 months. Help will be given on a best-effort basis, with priority help granted for urgent issues.

Clause 3
Moolah to guarantee continued development.

If the developers decide to bail in full, and abandon development of the coin before this agreement is up; then Moopay LTD will supply a minimum of 3 developers to continue work on the coin - until the end of the agreement window. Moopay LTD will then continue to supply developers until adequate external contributors can be found. Moopay LTD will guarantee priority 24/7 response to urgent issues, and best-effort response to all other cases. This includes fixing broken services, the QT wallet, and blockchain issues. We will also seek to expand upon the coin when there are no issues. Moopay LTD will also always make a developer available for urgent issues, regardless of contributor state, for a minimum of 18 months from the time this agreement is made formal.

Our (now expanded) development team has experiencing in working for Microsoft, Citigroup, Telefonica and more - and each and every member has substantial experience in crypto development (including daemon and reference client work).
Maybe a good time to re-acquaint ourselves with the stated way forward.

Basically, Bter seem solid, and are trying to do the right thing; they just need time to sort themselves out.
Just a shame certain individual/s want to selfishly undermine this, by polluting the thread with their utterly deluded conspiracy theories on nxtforum.

How long before she removes this shit?
