1301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new unit=1/1000000BTC. Bit is already taken, how to call a new unit/symbol? on: May 04, 2014, 10:43:05 PM
You don't calls cents centidollar.
If “centidollars” are called “cents”, then maybe “microbitcoins” could be “micros”.
1302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be Giving Your Mom some BTC for Mothers Day? on: May 04, 2014, 10:38:15 PM
i agree, your mother would be happy with both.
If this is an insult, I don't understand where it's coming from. I'm just suggesting that you can give your mother some BTC along with the usual Mother's Day gift.
1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be Giving Your Mom some BTC for Mothers Day? on: May 04, 2014, 10:25:53 PM
giving parents money for mothers/fathers day is missing the point

its meant to be an act of love to show them they mean alot to you.

money = "cant be arsed to buy you something, so you do the work, heres some money now you find something to buy"

keep money gifts for other occassions
How about giving her both money and a gift? I don't see any problem with that.
1304  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New HTML5 Wallet with Native QR Code Scanning on iOS: Coin Pocket on: May 04, 2014, 10:23:02 PM
Is this app iOS-specific? I tried using it on Windows Phone, but it gives me an error about a secure random number generator nor being present.
1305  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit on: May 04, 2014, 09:11:01 PM
Is multibit safe to use now?
It's actually safer because the buggy Blockchain.info import has been disabled.
1306  Other / New forum software / Re: New forum needs to be designed for mobile on: May 01, 2014, 03:56:55 PM
The current software works well on mobile devices. Yes, the texts are difficult to read, but it only takes a bit of zooming action. I would hate to see the new software force me into mobile mode with drastically different formatting to the desktop version.
On Windows Phone, this forum's font sizes are a mess. Usernames are too small compared to the actual posts.
1307  Other / MultiBit / Re: Critical Bug - Version 0.5.17 on: April 26, 2014, 03:05:10 PM
There is no such thing as "change addresses" in MultiBit. The address for change is picked from already existing addresses that you manually requested to create (except in the special case that you have exactly 1 address, in which case it would create a second address).
How does your reply help regarding the OP?
He claims something happened which as far as I know is not possible using MultiBit. I'm just trying to know what really happened.

How did you get that idea?
Jim himself stated that some time ago. I wasn't aware that behavior changed.

1310  Other / MultiBit / Re: Where do I find Private keys? on: April 23, 2014, 02:05:48 PM
If you could open the wallet as Coiner.de suggested, then that's all you need. You shouldn't need to export the private keys unless you're going to use different wallet software (e.g. Bitcoin core, Armory, Blockchain, etc).
1311  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit turned out to be a scam on: April 21, 2014, 02:07:02 PM
For what it's worth, I haven't lost any money using MultiBit, so I can't support your claims about it being a scam.

OK, I think it's fixed now.

I have a problem when trying to install the extension.

Some days ago I linked my account, but just today I installed the Chrome extension. Then I went to https://bitcointa.lk/pages/browser-extension/, but it says
Quote
Extension Error: Account not liked. Refresh
Clicking Refresh does nothing.

When I try to link my account again, it says that
Quote
This username is already linked. We don't allow it to be linked twice.
which makes sense.

I'm doing all this logged in as R2D221 in bitcointa.lk (I can be sure because I can see my name in the top right corner, and my photo in the menu that pops).
1314  Other / MultiBit / Re: BUG!!! Multibit created a change address for my transactions, BUT NO PRIV KEY! on: April 07, 2014, 03:08:29 AM
Daily bump until Dev Jim resolves this.
If he can't check his PMs, then he is less likely to check the forum. Just saying.
1315  Other / MultiBit / Re: BUG!!! Multibit created a change address for my transactions, BUT NO PRIV KEY! on: April 06, 2014, 06:18:54 AM
Have you already sent a PM to Jim?
1316  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Prison? on: April 01, 2014, 10:14:18 PM
What makes famous Bitcoin criminals different from famous USD criminals?

I think it's not Bitcoin's business to decide what happens to them.
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creating our own Coin on: April 01, 2014, 10:10:29 PM
Grin

Although it is the first of April we are indeed serious about this.

"We would want it to be 100% premined" Smiley

great idea Tongue great as for 1st of April Tongue

As far as I understand, this would be for private usage (think of things like "Facebook coins", they are not to be spent on things outside Facebook). So, in this sense, I see no problem with it being premined.

Unfortunately, I don't have the skills to help with the development of this project.
1318  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcointa.lk, the Bitcointalk community with a 2014 forum software on: March 27, 2014, 06:30:45 PM
Is there a way to import my Watchlist to Bitcointa.lk?
1319  Other / New forum software / Re: Kick-off Discussion: Existing Forum Temperature Check + Criticism on: March 27, 2014, 05:32:20 PM
You have to search on front page to get all results.

On subpage on results in this sub.
That's not obvious at all. I learned it by trial and error.
The search bar appears on the top, before the current subforum title. So I expect it to search everything.
1320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Fad, or here to stay? on: March 25, 2014, 02:26:16 PM
Most things "go away" eventually, if you looked at the technology that was in use 10,000 or 1,000 or even 100 years ago, most of it is now obsolete.  I don't think a specific payment protocol like Bitcoin is comparable to general human practices like agriculture or barter, physical phenomena like fire, or fundamental frames of thinking like mathematics.
But the Internet is based on the physical phenomenon of electricity, and Bitcoin is built on top of that and the fundamental frame of thinking of cryptography, a branch of mathematics.
