1324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving and price on: July 31, 2018, 07:57:23 PM
What cellard has said is partially right. Halving just increases eagerness among the panic new crypto investors who feel like the btc which needs to be mined is very less in number and hence they start panic investments which drives the price higher than usual during the halving year. This increase in interest among the panic guys carry over to the next year and we experience a steep rise in price similar to what happened last year. This rise in price won't sustain for a longer period unless btc acceptance increases in other countries. There are possibly a lot of new buyers who bought btc during Dec 2k17 peak, lost their investment completely and sold their btc for a very lower price.

If you are an investor and only invest your money in btc, you can never earn a decent amount in crypto. Diversifying your portfolio by investing in alts probably will increase your investment price and later converting them to btc will make you earn quite a worthy bucks. Unless you don't invest in a coin, your investment is never secure. A token has high possibilities of ending up being a scam.
1325  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALERT!!! Lost 0.08 BTC [Please stay safe] on: July 30, 2018, 06:40:36 PM
This 0.08BTC which you lost may worth a lot in future  Undecided. Unless we have huge amount in crypto, it's better not to risk your bucks in Lending business nor we should never indulge ourselves in Lending for interests. With Ethereum and Waves platform, one can generate x amount of tokens and can scam anyone. A token needs to move to its own independent blockchain after quite few months/years. Most of these tokens which doesn't move, end up being scam or becoming worthless over the years.

In future, its better to accept collateral for coins which has an independent blockchain rather than risking your btc for these worthless tokens which are created on top of other blockchain. It would be least possible for one to get scammed if they accept coins as collateral. I feel really sorry for your loss. Good luck with your Lending business if you are willing to risk your btc again to untrustworthy individuals who are roaming all around the forum to scam someone.  Sad

1. The confirmation email was labeled Spam in gmail.
That's true. My spam folder was filled up with lots of spam mails from localxe. For each minute around 5 mails are being sent to my mail. Once I refresh and select the latest one, it is being redirected to localxe website with the following message

Quote
Activation Link Expired Or Invalid Informations
Once around 25 mails were sent and atlast it stopped on the whole. Then I visited the last one, and clicked the link and the account was verified.

@localxe Could you please check your mail bot settings which you are using for verifying mails  Embarrassed

1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum erc20 token unconfirmed/pending transactions on: July 29, 2018, 10:04:54 AM
I am not very familiar with the api being used for checking out the unconfirmed transactions.

You can check the data for the unconfirmed pending tx by going through Etherscan link which displays pending txs. Here you can enter your address and search... Once you got the result for your address, you can check the txhash for the transaction and check through the data.

P.S May I know for what you have been asking for these infos? Have you been stuck in transactions for longer period? Or you are building a website like thing and need to integrate this in your website for helping your customers?

DONE with spamming reports. It's up-to mods to decide weather to trash the whole spam thread or go with them. Will report once my reports are handled by Welsh or mprep. On the contrary, the whole ULTRIX Thread was trashed with numerous replies drowning deep along with the thread  Cry

While I was going through these spammer's posts, I came across an interesting spam thread (Blockchain.io) Here the newbies does the foll tasks:

1. They simply quote the whole ANN and leave
2. They post "Good Project"
3. Each newbie post some plagiarism content and leave

Of the 5.9k posts in this thread, around 1-2k of them are plagiarism content stolen from various crypto websites. Rest 2k are "Good Project" posts. Should the mods trash the whole thread or delete each and every newbie post present in the thread?  Huh

It was't rejected. Apologies, I update and edit the thread most of the time from my mobile, and editing long posts is pain in the a.., sometimes sh.t happens. So sorry about that I'll update it right away. Cheers Smiley
PS. Same happen to Lafu, I have to go trough the thread once again to be sure that no one is left out.
Thank you man...  Smiley

I really don´t think reporting "good project" posts is effect.
That's the reason why I haven't reported these kind of posts. I am sure my report history which consisted of around 350 reports didn't have even a single "Good Project" post. It's literally a waste of time for us reporting these posts and the mods handling these reports. At some times the mods would even get annoyed with these reports. A spambot is created for the sole purpose of just posting  "Good/Great Project" and bumping up their thread to the top. Anyways I will start my work from today or most probably tomorrow in reporting the users. Deleting the whole ANN would just delete all the newbies spams in one go.

It's really frustrating to see these spambots posting now and then and bumping those scam ICO's ANN Threads.  Angry

1335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying another coins with Bitcoin .... how to track? on: July 25, 2018, 03:17:49 PM
A simple scenario be like, once a customer registers on your site and requests an address for sending btc, generate an address and give them and once the coins are received, you can update the equivalent CVB coins for the particular customer by using a simple java or python code. Using a multisig wallet would also be helpful for tracking the info as a separate address would be generated for each customer. Use a cold storage to store the coins which are sent by the customer.

You don't need a online wallet for this and since you are risking other people's money, having them safely in a cold storage would make sense.

Is there any specific rules apart from above mentioned rules in the OP to get accepted by you?

1338  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency marketcap decreases but number of exchanges increases? on: July 24, 2018, 06:16:36 PM
Shitty exchanges are created in order to make immediate money from listing of coins. Each exchanges receive some minimal fees in terms of btc to list a coin. A scam coin's goal is to somehow list their coin in a scam exchange and run away with the money. On the other hand, these exchanges have the worst storages which exposes them to thefts and the coins get stolen easily from them or on some cases, the exchange devs run away with the leftout money.

A month back I came across a scam ICO which was sold at 1.5$ per coin, there were investors who invested in them. The coin was so realistic that they even spent money for advertising. Once after the ICO was finished successfully, they raised around 500k$. The team listed them in a shit exchange in order to make the investors believe in the coin. A few days later, the team weren't as active as they were in Telegram group during ICO, the price started to tank so hard and at one point of time the coin was removed from the exchange stating that it was a scam.

It's better to say that, these exchanges are present to list the scam ICO's and tokens for the sake of grabbing money from the scam team.

A flow be like :

Scam ICO's steal the money from investors---Shit Exchanges steal the money from Scam ICO's---Digital Thieves steal the money from Shit Exchanges
1339  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Would a hypotethical proof of transaction fees work? on: July 24, 2018, 03:45:19 PM
Thanks for the explanation. Seems to be an interesting idea to hear. But going by your idea, I don't think this could work in real world. Not all miners use the coins for transactions, there may be a lot of them who hold the coins for long term. Holding for a long term is equivalent to not indulging themselves in any transactions which makes them according to the network the least possibility of becoming a miner.

For instance, a miner named A is one of the biggest miners in the PoW period of the coin. He didn't spend the coins and would like to hold the coins for longer term. Once the coin shifts from PoW to PoTF algorithm, the network searches for the miner with highest transaction fees, sadly he won't be chosen by the network but he wishes to mine the coin and be a helpful member of the community.

But coins like Eth are moving to PoS in order to save the energy which are being consumed vastly by the ASIC during mining. On the contrary, an idea like this would work, if all the coins were pre-mined and sold in the ICO and then the coins shifts to PoTF style. Such a case will make the miners to use the coins in transactions and the network would choose the highest fees payer or the right miner.

Various ideas may be evolved from various members of the community if this topic is in a right place to discuss. Could you please move this topic to Serious Discussion Board?
