1041  Economy / Reputation / Re: Overview of Fake Hindi Translators in the Indian Board on: April 27, 2019, 03:34:14 PM
Clutch_Jones have been promoting their project in various languages in the forum. So should they be mentioned in this thread? Along with that, they have been posting announcements in multiple languages which should have been done either through google translation or probably through any other automated translating tools!

Overview of Fake Hindi Translators in the Indian Board

As I have already stated in the moderator thread, the Indian board is currently getting out of control and the fake translators are translating almost all the announcements of the ico projects by using the google translators and other automated translation tools. Benson wasn’t quite active for more than 2 years and was removed from the position of the moderator a year back. Since the start of 2018 the ICO’s have become very popular and subsequently the translators are growing at an enormous rate in the Indian board. Either they have poor translation skills, or they don’t have the time to do a proper translation and be honest to their work.

Since, there isn't much of them willing to help me in trying to expose the translation abusers who are dominating the Indian Board, I have contacted erikalui for helping me out with this case. Even though, there are clear rules on using Automated translating tools is frowned upon in this forum, people tend to continue using them due to the lack of moderation in the Indian sub board.

Though I am not a native Hindi speaker, I have tried to contact some prominent Hindi members of this forum and expose these so called legit Hindi Translators. In the Indian board, the translators really don’t care even if the project has been proven Scam. They continue to promote the scam and receive their shitty bounty tokens which wouldn’t be worth even a dime. We couldn’t put the blame on the bounty managers since they are from different countries of the world and we shouldn’t be sure they would do their job of managing a campaign sincerely. Initially I was little bit hesitant to expose all these people. But since they are getting out of control and the board is getting worse, I was forced to do so.

This thread is meant to serve as a reference for the current translation abuses ongoing in the Indian Board.

Description:

anikt123:

I didn't come across this member quite often,  but they do seem to translate the sentences using automated translators and trying to grab the maximum out of the shitcoins.

Hindi translation doesn't make any sense.

Proof of stake shouldn't be translated but the translator translated it as "हिस्सेदारी का प्रमाण"

Original sentence: The ZROCOR network will speak to the api of RelateID, pulling and pushing transaction, KYC, AML, OFAC, and user data.

Hindi Translation: ZROCOR नेटवर्क, API RelateID, लेनदेन को उठाने और आगे बढाने, केवाईसी, AML, OFAC और यूजर डेटा के साथ इंटरैक्ट करेगा।

English version of the Hindi translation: The ZROCOR network will interact with API RelateID, to pick up and push a transaction, KYC, AML, OFAC, and user data.

Apart from this I have rechecked some sentences with the translator and they do seem to match.

boboshrish:

Being one among the top translation spammers flooding the Indian Board, this guy has a very poor translation skills and probably uses Automated translators for translating announcements and receiving the tokens. There isn't any real translation offered through his work.

Almost all of his translations are proven to be fake and seems to be translated through automated services which provides literally no use for the native readers. Probably there isn't at least one of them reading those shitty fake translations and as many of them pointed out it's just contributing to much more spam in the Indian Board.

I just checked the Cryptofy threads about 2-3 paras and can confirm that the hindi translation is incorrect.
There are many instances where I can say he used an automatic translator as for instance:

"right music" has been translated as "pasandida sangeet" which means "favorite music".

"at your fingertips" has been translated as "aapki ungliyon par" which is literal translation.

"you're working out" has been translated as "aap baahar kaam kar rahe hain" which means "you are working outside".

desi_translator2018:

Original version: In order to promote greater adoption of international merchants

Hindi version: अंतरराष्ट्रीय व्यापारियों की अधिक से अधिक गोद लेने को बढ़ावा देने के लिए

The user has translated "adoption" as the literal "adoption" with words like "गोद लेने"

Original version: Dash Platinum is a modern crypto-currency with security features, supporting high-speed transactions, minimum rate and 100% decentralized peer-to-peer transactions, offering ease of anonymity through Masternodes hosted worldwide, where none central organization or entity controls the currency, ensuring the ability to store, send and receive coins anonymously and securely through the use of mobile and Desktop wallets both online and between person with unique and minimal transaction fees.

The hindi version has broken sentences, incorrect grammar and even it has changed the meaning of the original sentence.

The Hindi translation reads "Dash Platinum is a modern crypto-currency with security features, supporting high-speed transactions, minimum rate and 100% decentralized peer-to-peer transactions, the ease of anonymity offered through Master Nodes is hosted worldwide, where no central organization or entity controls the currency, the ability to store, send and receive coins anonymously and securely through the use of both mobile and desktop online and unique and with minimum transaction fees between the person is ensured.

Mayur90:

This translator has changed many sentences and while doing this made them meaningless with too many mistakes.

This sentence: "यह कैसे संभव है की कुछ टोकन" should be "यह कैसे संभव है कि कुछ टोकन".

In this sentence: Currently, the tokens prices fluctuate all together in the same direction according to more or less rational concerns over the overall acceptance of cryptocurrencies but seldom around a specific business model adoption.

Translation: वर्तमान में, टोकन की कीमतें क्रिप्टोकरेंसीयों की समग्र स्वीकृति पर अधिक या कम तर्कसंगत चिंताओं के अनुसार एक ही दिशा में एक साथ सभी में उतार-चढ़ाव करती हैं लेकिन शायद ही कभी एक विशिष्ट व्यापार मॉडल गोद लेने के आसपास होती हैं।

This entire sentence makes no sense in Hindi. "गोद लेने" was used instead of "adoption" which means "adopting a child" and here adoption means accepting rather than literally adopting. "Around" was translated as "आसपास" by Google and the translator which is the literal meaning but it means that the fluctuations are rarely based on a specific business model adoption. "More or less" should be translated as "कुछ हद तक" rather than literally "more or less" and hence entire sentence has been literally translated making it meaningless.

One more example:

This current situation shows us that traditional ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) don’t fit anymore the current need of investors and lack guarantees concerning the use of assets.

यह वर्तमान स्थिति हमें दिखाती है कि पारंपरिक ICO(प्रारंभिक सिक्का पेशकश) निवेशकों की वर्तमान आवश्यकता और परिसंपत्तियों के उपयोग से संबंधित गारंटी की आवश्यकता नहीं है।

Google doesn't know what the sentence means and same does the translator.

The translator translated it as "This current situation shows us that traditional ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) do not rely on the current need of investors and guarantees concerning the the use of assets.

Prateek88:

With our light-weight mobile application was literally translated as "हमारे हल्के-वजन वाले मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन के साथ" where weight of a thing was compared to weight of an app.

Red: Google has translated the sentence as "sharing and collaborating data"when the actual sentence is "collaborating and sharing data" and translator has done this twice in the same announcement.

Blue: The translator tried to change it by adding "में" but instead made the sentence meaningless with wrong grammar when Google provided the right translation.

rangnatht:

Similar to boboshrish, this guy too is providing fake translations. Not just to bash him, but the Forum Rules posted by him is also an automated translation but I haven't reported them, since he was the only guy who took this measure to translate those rules in Hindi. Also, I was the one to report this topic to pin them in the Regional Languages (India) sub board. Not much people are aware of Hindi in India, as India has completely large set of languages spoken all over the country and English being the primary language followed all over the country.

It's total nonsense.
Thanks for the reply theymos. LOL, yes it doesn't really make sense for a wormhole to exist but people still beleive it is one of the best scientifically accurate movies. I do watch space films a lot, but the only thing which I liked was the Appollo 13 movie which showcases the real struggle of the austronauts on board the Appollo 13 mission.

In theories where black holes could somehow be traversed, you'd need to use a very special black hole and approach it in a very special way.
Yes, but theoretically it is proven that if both black holes collide each other due to the enormous gravitational pulling existing between those 2, they would join together and form a supermassive black hole.

In a supermassive black hole, you can theoretically survive a while past the event horizon without the gravity ripping you apart (though various other things will probably still kill you).
Yes, I do agree with this fact. The inside of a black hole comprises of various disintegrated stars, space dust, comets, planets, etc. So these dust particles will be surrounding inside them. Just a small human entering that will make you collide head on with each other and kill us.

Similarly with the Jupiter thing (one of the worst planets I have ever read about). Theoretically, if you wanna die a tragic death better jump inside a black hole than Jupiter. If we jump inside them, at around 250 miles your surrounding will totally become too dark and certainly the atmospheric gases will choke your whole body. Even if you survive that with such special human made instruments, your body will experience a pressure of more than 50-75 times you are experiencing on Earth right now. So, you have a spacecraft which can withstand such huge pressures and continue travelling down. At exactly 2000-3000 miles the temperature will be too high which can melt tungsten and similarly can melt you down with those gases. So even if you figure out a way to travel past that, the atmosphere at 10,000 miles will be as hard as rock which makes you unable to travel even further. At that point of time, it is believed that you would face a counter opposite gravitational pull which will stretch your body and pull you up. While the strong atmosphere will prevent you from going up.

LOL, if you need a smooth death better jump off inside a black hole. You will be dead all of a sudden rather than having strong instruments and specialized spacecrafts and jumping inside Jupiter.  Grin

P.S It is quite interesting and funny to see how we live a beautiful life on Earth and what Earth has provided us!
1044  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: UNSPENT BLOCKCHAIN on: April 23, 2019, 10:34:57 AM
You are totally confusing things here. A transaction is made up of inputs and outputs. The unspent outputs(0.0006) present in your address can be spent as input for the next transaction. You have sent 0.0006 btc to 1Cmwf5pG5VeMnNbRV3rp88Sc2aXo7ED53v which can be spent and these unspent output act as input for your next transaction.

Login to your onfaucet.com account and try to spend the money. If you do so, the unspent status will change to spent in the block explorer. It has already been confirmed and why are you trying to resend the tx which isn't possible?
1045  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Interstellar and their theories of Black Hole on: April 23, 2019, 10:11:09 AM
No? How would he be able to save the day and even come back to see his daughter?
So he doesn't experience spaghettification? For such a scientifically accurate movie, how is that really even possible? I have seen through another theory, that everything happens after he enters Gargantua is just an alternate reality and in reality he is dead already! Well, not sure but I am so sure that tidal forces will kill him easily once he enters the event horizon. If Gargantua was a smaller black hole, he would have been killed even before he entered the event horizon.

Time is relative. It was explained in the movie that due to the gravity field of Gargantua, 1 hour in the planet equals 7 years on earth/space. For them, only 3 hours have passed, but for the other dude which name I can’t remember, 3 * 7 years = 23 years.

Quote from: Farul
He Actually Only Stays On Miller For ~3 Hours, Her Daughter Grow So Fast Because Time Dilation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_dilation).
Time Dilation Is Basically "The Faster You Are, The Slower Time That You Experience."
Miller Is Orbiting Gargantua, Which Is A Blackhole That Have Strong Gravity. Therefore, Miller Orbitting Speed Is Very Fast Compared To Earth That The Time Dilation There Was So High (1 Miller Hour= 7  Earth Year).

Is the functioning of organs based on Time Dilation? If that's the fact, then his 120 year aging is justified.

Also, Yobit’s campaign is dead (banned by theymos).
Ah, my bad. Never noticed this yesterday. Thanks.

I think anyone who goes into the unknown could lead to a tragic death and no one could save you from it. I'm not an astrophysicist, but I know it's going to end up that way. Lol.
Yes, true. Even a nearby star could end up in spaghettification and has been proven many a time. Seems like Cooper's Body is stronger than a star.  Cheesy
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Learn How to create your own Erc20 Smart Contract and Airdrop for 0.22ETH on: April 23, 2019, 07:03:11 AM
Quote
Would you like to learn how to develop your own erc20 token smart contract?

If there isn't any demand for you token/coin what is the purpose of creating your own token in Eth blockchain other than learning how to make one? Why should one waste 4 hours of time in creating a shit token? He isn't really gonna code anything and every information is available along with a code. One must know how to deploy in into a Testnet rather than spending your dime for scamming someone.

Quote
Are you looking for a smart contract that can distribute ethereum or erc20 tokens to multiple addresses in few seconds for lesser gas fees?

So, how would you create a smart contract which can have lesser gas fees when compared to the standard transaction? To transfer the tokens one must need 100,000 gas and needs to pay eth for each gas burned which is determined by the traffic of the ethereum network. Your topic wouldn't really make sense to many of them here unless he is a complete newbie who doesn't know how things go on in the Ethereum Network.

Quote
You should come to me. I am building an small academy to tutor people online for only a meager fee of 0.22ETH.

Why should one reach out to you and pay for you for deploying a smart contract in the main chain? If everyone of us is creating a new shit token in main chain you are polluting the main chain which is discouraged. Ropsten is a better alternative to try such things out for free where you will be supplied with free testnet ether through faucets.

Quote
I am providing you with the required softwares, the required solidity coding/language computations and the free training. Yes!!! All these premium kits will come from me for free.

Softwares? LOL. You don't need any softwares for deploying a smart contract. All you need is just a piece of shitty code, ropsten website and MEW website (probably just an internet connection with a PC) is all you need. The specialized software can be a new to newbies but not for everyone.

P.S 0.22 Eth is insane pricing when everyone can do that for free in the testnet!
1047  Other / Serious discussion / Interstellar and their theories of Black Hole on: April 23, 2019, 05:27:25 AM
Astronomy has always been fasinating and with the recent revelation of the Black Hole Photograph, we are getting even more closer in studying the worlds which we are still not aware off. It's been more than a week, but I am surprised no one has still started a topic on this.

To the people who are not really aware of what a Black Hole really is, it is just a place in space which has insane gravitational pull where even the fastest travelling medium Light can't escape through them (Yes, I am aware that Universe is far more faster than light and expanding at a rapid speed). Supermassive Black Holes like Sagittarius A's creation would be highly challenging for the astro physicists to find out, but smaller black holes are formed after the supernova collision probably.

Interstellar was just a breath taking and significantly more accurate move on studying habitable exoplanets, wormholes and blackholes in the near future. We are really aware that a Black Hole consists of Singularity or a point where all the absorbed particles get accumulated. But shouldn't there be a end for anything which starts in this universe? Is spaghettification really possible after entering the Black Hole? I have read that we would face a similar situation when we are entering the atmosphere of Jupiter and the astronomer would face a tragic end if he does that.

So I have some questions on Interstellar and the physics that were explained throughout the movie by comparing them with the recently released photograph!

[1] Is Cooper dead after entering Gargantua (a supermassive black hole in a near-by galaxy) which could be reached through the wormhole present near the saturn?

[2] How is he able to contact his daughter? I do know there are some speculative theories that when entering a Black Hole you could reach the White Hole which should be a entry point for a Parallel Universe!

[3] Cooper is a human and has a normal life form as all the other people on this Earth. But how he isn't aging even after being in Miller Planet for 23 years?

Need real insights and inputs from astro physicists and people having interest on topics like these.

1048  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting people over 1k merit on: April 22, 2019, 11:17:18 AM
This question was going around in my mind right after the merit was introduced and when I got used to the forum. Initially when merit was introduced I was sort of a newbie and doesn't really know how the forum works regarding posting, activity, trust etc! I really feel hesitant in meriting the people who got past 1000 merits or legendary people how good their posting quality is. I guess I have given away less than 5 merits in total to Legendary members till now and I would never really merit them unless the post impresses me to hit the +Merit button. Till now, I have given over 130-140 merits (not really sure of them) in total and the highest for a single post was 5 to Coding Enthusiast for his really outstanding explation on a Technical topic. Other than that, the highest merit I have given over is just 2 on rare cases.

I agree merit was introduced to distinguish quality posts, but constantly meriting a single guy even after they have reached the highest rank is not really good (just MHO). Merits are not just infinite in number to throw away 10-20 for bull shit one liners as like in this topic. Here the OP is a newbie when Merit is considered and doesn't really know how the system works.

Another point is that meriting theymos with higher number of merits should be discouraged. We are aware that each of his posts are utmost high quality posts, but if those merits are distributed to lower rank members it could help them in ranking up along with encouraging them to post even more. These are completely based on my opinions and they do vary with each other and how they handle their sMerits. Not all Staffs are Legendary to quit meriting them.
1049  Other / Meta / Re: is it plagiarism? on: April 22, 2019, 05:10:44 AM
Duplicate Posting in multiple boards unless they aren't translated leads to the topic getting trashed. Since you are posting the English version in B&H board and the translated one in your Local board, you won't be facing any such hard times with the breaking of rules. It's good to hear that you are taking an initiative to educate the newbies in your local section, but using automated translator tools could also lead to a negative feedback along with the deletion of the topic.

If you are translating the articles without any automated translation tools and citing proper sources for the articles there shouldn't be a problem for you. Bans are often issued only when you are caught for plagiarism, Duplicate Postings will lead to just deletion of topic and using of automated tools will lead to receiving a negative feedback from DT.

Even though they seem to be very rare, and considered to be one of the first collectible of the cryptocurrency world 40BTC is too expensive to start with in an auction. Though I have never seen a Times Genesis block paper coming up for sell/auction, it would be quite interesting to see how this sale/auction progresses over time. Probably a whale like OTOH or Canary or GP can complete this deal for you at a worthy price.

As krog said, if someone buys this at such a price both you and the buyer should meet in person and finalize the deal. Will you trust a Premium delivery service with such an expensive item?

Hi. Is my negative feedback from Vod is valid ?
Yes, it is valid. You are evading the ban. Your real account has been permabanned for plagiarism. If you have a permaban, there is no other way of getting back your original account other than appealing for a ban. With your ban appeal account, you should just appeal for your ban. Participating in any other thread other than that or posting in any other sub board other than Meta is considered to be Ban Evasion. It seems like you are farming your new account and doing business with that in the Services board. This is why Vod has mentioned that you are evading the ban.

Creating an account from being ban and make a thread on Meta can make you get ban evasion and stealing from others ?
You have indulged in the act of plagiarizing others content and got permabanned from using the forum. This is what he mentions in his feedback. I am very much sure, if you continue using this account for your forum businesses this might get banned as well leaving you stranded.

P.S I guess this topic better fits in Reputation board rather than Meta.
1053  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC addresses starting with "3" what are they ? simplified explanation. on: April 21, 2019, 12:35:31 PM
Adding some more points to OP,

In case of wallets like electrum, while you are creating a wallet you can choose between legacy addresses or native segwit addresses. A standard transaction with a legacy address has higher fee since they have higher weight when compared to the segwit transactions. A legacy transaction has higher weight and hence they consume larger size in the block. We can never add higher number of transactions in a block. Whereas in segwit transactions since the witnesses have been removed they are lesser in weight and hence more number of transactions can be filled inside a block. By this way we can increase the scalability of the network to a larger extent if every one of us use segwit addresses. At an average rate, 60% of the weight is reduced in a segwit transaction.

Till last month, I had a strong misconception that segwit transactions has lesser size when compared to the legacy transactions. This isn't, segwit never reduces the size of the transaction they just reduces the weight which in turn helps the miners in adding more number of transactions to the block.

Another thing is that, some newbies still believe that multi signature and a segwit is one or the other way similar. If you have a multi signature address, you along with other addresses control the funds and our signature alone aren't enough to release the funds. For instance, you have around $10,000 but afraid to hold them with you. In this case, we can create and load a multi sig address , where more than 2 or 3 signatures are required to release the funds. Here is an old post of mine giving an insight on how multi-signature works.

It is allowed to do legacy to segwit transaction and vice versa, so why they put emphasis on Segwit address on end user side?
Yes, segwit is backward compatible. You would have no issues in sending funds from legacy to segwit but I assume there won't be any difference in the weight of the transaction probably. But sending funds from a native segwit to legacy address has problem as far as I know, though I have never tried them.
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamato to be revealed " claims on: April 21, 2019, 09:59:27 AM
With the current findings there are no exact traces of satoshi in the real world apart from the Californian IP which was used by satoshi in the client and revealed from the debug.log file. The IP doesn't seem to be like a exit node so probably satoshi should have been in California at the time when Hal interacted with them. Possibly he could have even hid that with a VPN or some other network. With theymos inputs it is clear that satoshi used TOR to connect with the forum, hence that is even a waste of time.

McAfee is a renowned famous programmer and an entrepreneur but he is just ruining himself with his baseless stupid claims by immersing himself more into the crypto world. I do agree bitcoin is such a great innovation, but his stupid $1 million claim within 2020 is absolutely shit. His claims along with CSW are getting more and more nonsensical these days with just no real discovery made through till today.

He was threatening nakamato if he didn't came out then he will narrow him down and then revel his identity to the whole world.
If satoshi is willing to reveal himself, he should sign a message from any one of his addresses. That's the only possible way to prove his credibility. But doing so would create havoc in the society with the price tanking to such an extent with people fear of selling their btc.

Is this good or bad ?
Is he doing the right thing ?
It is certainly bad for the crypto community to see satoshi come to life. We are used to the fact that we are not governed by anyone and along with that we are decentralized with no leader to govern us. If satoshi returns back or gets exposed, the fear would rise among with people and it destroys the mere purpose of btc itself being decentralized. The power of changing things will get back to satoshi and the community would become centralized.
1055  Economy / Reputation / Re: Yobit and campaign manager discussion on: April 20, 2019, 07:34:10 PM
YoBit is pretty much shady in their activities over the past few years and there have been numerous unresolved accusations over them. Managing the campaign is equivalent to promoting/endorsing a shady scam even though you don't explicitly state in the topic or stand by them. You are a good manager and seems to endorse or manage only trustworthy exchanges, coins or websites campaigns. But YoBit doesn't seem to fit in any of these criteria. Along with that, even some of the non- shitposting members doesn't see through the websites they promote. Most of them blindly follow the words of the manager.  Also you need to hold an escrow of the payment since most of them never trust with YoBit and their shady past. Considering that, it would be better for you to turn off the YoBit campaign since that could surely hurt your reputation in the forum apart from the promotion of a shady service.

Secondly, the problem YoBit spammers create here recently. Since they have launched a shitty campaign to spam the forum to the maximum, it is better that someone should contact them at the earliest and limit the spammers. Spams generated from the YoBit guys can be controlled to quite an extent if each one of us take the initiative to report the shit posts. Controlling the spam is very much different from risking the reputation of yourselves and your work as a campaign manager over the years.

Recently, if every one of us were aware of the DuckDice campaign we would feel like it would be better if you don't get involved in the campaign to control the spam. notaek was tagged for being an escrow of the funds for the campaign which was launched by DuckDice themselves. I believe there would be some sort of serious consequence if you manage the campaign solely. (Either way, this is just my assumption)

Thanks for the inputs @LoyceV and @iasenko. I have reported the post which had the referral code but they weren't handled actually. Either the mods should have not noticed the code in that long post or the code should have been a referral link to trash them probably.

The topic I reported was this

Use this referral code to win 1000 SNAC extra at the time of Sign Up: HG9467

Another thing is that, he has posted the same topic in multiple language boards and none of them were translated. So duplication of topics in multiple boards are still allowed even though they aren't translated?

High chance that the account was a sr member rank before and deleted his posts which is uncertain reasons for me.
As I see the account never received or sent any large merit or sending merit to his/er alt accounts, unless proven, thats why merit abuse is not the case here.
Not exactly true. But your first guess should be right. They should have deleted their older posts or the account should have been hacked at the mid of 2018 going by the password change and the email change dates. Also, the account became suddenly active after a long hiatus. Going through the bpip data, they have sent large chunks of merits (5-10) for one liner nonsensical posts. Possibly all those accounts should be his alt accounts. From those lists, some of the accounts have been banned from posting and some are inactive while others are still active.

Interesting all those linked accounts went to inactivity mode at the same month and few of them at the same dates. Another fun fact is that, all the linked accounts have been ranked up to Member rank by receiving exactly 10 merits from various users. Either this should be a chain of alt accounts handled by a single guy probably, not really sure of them.

Possibly connected alt accounts :

1. Hughes_Ryan
2. alimarh
3. losiva
4. Bolivar_Tony
5. zissmieus

P.S You could move this to Reputation, doesn't seem to fit in Meta section.

Adding some more points to pooya87's answer,

- Have there been any discussions about licensing Bitcoin client versions?
Yes, by satoshi himself back in 2010.
Foremost, the client or a wallet is one which doesn't hold our coins. They securely generate our private keys and store them. For in order to spend the coins, we do it through private keys. Hence you can code your own wallet either as a GUI based or command line based and get your own license. But the original satoshi client (i.e Bitcoin Core) is a free software released under MIT License which allows anyone to modify, run and distribute/redistribute the software. Licensing the core client other than MIT License will hinder the adoption of the project significantly reducing the price also.

- Do you think other licensing will limit alternative customer development?
Yes,licensing the client other than MIT License will limit the adoption and development. satoshi has once spoken about the Licensing of the client and why he doesn't want to go with GPL or other licenses.

If the only library is closed source, then there's a project to make an open source one.

If the only library is GPL, then there's a project to make a non-GPL one.

If the best library is MIT, Boost, new-BSD or public domain, then we can stop re-writing it.

I don't question that GPL is a good license for operating systems, especially since non-GPL code is allowed to interface with the OS.  For smaller projects, I think the fear of a closed-source takeover is overdone.

- Will a license reorganization ever happen if Satoshi returns?
No, I believe it doesn't happen since satoshi is not willing to do so. MIT License is very less restrictive when it comes to Free software and hence it is good to continue with MIT itself.

Thank you for your support Smiley I would also like to see you in this campaign with me. I've seen your posts many times. Always on topic and always adds interesting point of view into discussion.
Ah, that was pretty much faster. I remember mentioning you in the "Reporting to Merit Source" topic since you were around 2-3 merits short of becoming a Full Member. Possibly in a month with your really good posting, you have reached the 150 merit with ease. Continue posting and Good Luck with the application fella.  Cool

Probably this guy has a really good posting quality and is just short of 3 2 merits to become a Full Member. His recent well written topics are being merited a lot, hence I skimmed through some older topics created by him and got one such topic which didn't receive any merits. Though this topic is pretty old (>7 months), he didn't receive any merits for these. Hence pointing this to Merit Sources so that he would rank up.

Side Note : Before you became a Full Member, I didn't really come across your posts much often. But nowadays you seem to be equally participating in the main board too along with your local board.  Smiley

At times when I am actively reporting spams and referral links, I get past some strange posts where the OP doesn't get caught since they don't directly post the referral links. Instead, they just share the code for signing up. Should this post be reported and must be trashed or should be left behind since they don't post them as a link? These posts are quite common to encounter while using the patrol page but do rarely get reported and would stay in the forum forever.

Along with that, is duplicate posting in multiple boards to promote their stuff allowed? Either they are even not getting reported often and the rules vary with different mods. Some remove all those repeated duplicates and some just remove what we report. So should we report each and every duplicates or just reporting one is enough and mentioning other posts in Remarks?
