Lots of very cool ideas for slogans. Material enough for multi-slogan stuff, sub-slogans, advertising lead-ins, and catch phrases in general. My favorite - and I say this not to campaign, but because it's really what I think - is still "Why just Like when you can DigiByte!" because it's short, it rhymes, and it's catchy - a very good combination for branding.   Smiley

"Why just Like when you can Digitip!"

That's phenomenal! I would just change the last word of the phrase to read:

"Why just Like when you can DigiByte!"

Spread the love is old hat. It's been used by too many coins too many times, and reflects a lack of originality. It also sounds childish and tacky. Always has. In my opinion it is the antithesis of serious and professional communication. WTF? Are we talking about dating or money?

How about something like, "Now you can show someone your appreciation and support with one easy click of the button"?

BTW, do you still have to register with your email in order to use the tipping function? I would use it if the only thing that I had to share was my output address . . .

On another topic, it's great to see all the new interest in mining, especially with so much emphasis on supporting the currency. As I've said before, if there aren't miners, there's no coin. We are its backbone, and don't ever forget it. When you mine, you support the network, and, ultimately, you support your investment. Stopping mining would be equivalent to throwing away your entire investment. I wouldn't worry about the short termers who sell on the cheap - that's their problem and the source of great bargains for long term investors. Anyone who mines and sells at current prices is simply an idiot that we all can take advantage of. In any event, a hearty welcome to new DGB miners. You're making one of the strongest (yes, already the strongest if you add together the total hashrates of all 5 algos - how many coins have a global average scrypt equalvalent hashrate of just over 2GH/s that has been steady at that rate for over 6 months now?) even stronger! (There are also other pools out there that are not listed on the OP - https://www.google.es/search?q=digibyte+mining+pool&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=Bz0sVaaeGcrZPdOogeAM#q=digibyte+DGB+mining+miners+pools - and most certainly a few private pools as well.)

And I leave my DigiByte love hardcore business reality statement of the day at that, oh, and with the repost below of something I put up a while back. Let's get real; this is a winner in all respects. Let's not hem and haw. Let's not be afraid to really say what DigiByte is: the second generation cryptographic currency leader. We are what everyone else want's to be!

BTW, everything said in the following ARE FACTS. Let that one sink in! Let's not be afraid to get the reality of DGB out there exactly how it is. There's no reason to water things down . . . unless we can't handle separating ourselves from the children still playing with the funny money they can't figure out how to turn into real money.

Here's some possible material to use as a jumping off point for voiceovers, written materials, etc., that was derived from a brainstorming session looking for catch phrases to build various material around. My hope is that the brainstorming doesn't stop here.

---------------------------------------o---------------------------------------

Why DigiByte?

It’s clear that the future is 'cryptographic', as in cryptographic digital currency, and while it may be clear to some that DigiByte is a clear winner, others may still be asking why they should choose DigiByte instead of some other, first generation, digital currency.

#1 Safety

DigiByte, a cryptographic digital currency, is 5 times more secure than first generation digital currencies since it combines the use of five of the most advanced, most secure, cryptographic algorithms currently known to mankind. While there are close equivalents, there simply is no other form of monetary exchange that is safer to use.

#2 Fast and Easy

DigiByte is also THE leader in transaction speed, ease of use, and low cost fee structure. With the simple selection of a receiving address and the click of a button, DigiBytes can be sent from anywhere in the world to anywhere else in the world with practically zero transaction fees and a super low, 3 minute, confirmation and verification time. There is simply no other cryptographic digital currency that matches up. (Edit, this was written before the announcement of the upcoming fork that will make DigiByte even faster, matching VISA's capabilities, so this can be spiffed up even more!)

#3 Independence

All this is independent of the traditional banking system, – it is all done person-to-person – and that, of course, is how transactions speeds and next-to-nothing transaction fees are achieved. What’s more, your money is even safer since it is you, and nobody else, who guards and manages your own money.

#4 The Future Is Here Today

Get started today by downloading your free DigiByte wallet from www.digibyte.co and then acquiring a small amount of DGB to begin familiarizing yourself with this promising new financial future. You can find of wealth of information from corporate offerings and news at www.digibyte.co, to community camaraderie at www.bitcointalk.org, to fantastic FAQ step-by-step instructions at www.asistec-ti.com that will make your getting up-to-speed the easiest and most enjoyable experience you ever imagined possible.

Why wait any longer to get started with this revolutionary way of managing your wealth? The future is here, and it’s only up to you to start participating.

We've really got to start adopting and projecting a successful "corporate mindset". The first step in making anything happen is believing that it can happen, and the second is acting according. The worst thing you can do is to communicate doubts by underestimating and understating realities and potentials - there is absolutely no better way to make others doubt as well.

We have to assume that when DGB (or any crypto) becomes mainstream-adopted that the average person will have no idea what the data in an online blockchain explorer means. They will not know how to look at the blockchain to search for previous transactions to see if people have paid, or if their payments have gone through.

It's not a question of if, but when. Sooner or later there will be programs that turn the blockchain upside down and inside out.   Grin

OK. I've had it up to here with the talks of getting on exchanges and market speculating and whatever. (not just DGB folks, the whole crypto community in general and sometimes even me) There's a billion flippin' coins fighting over a tiny segment of the population over and over and over and over and over again. Enough!  Angry

The team did something very clever by making Digibytetip work on LinkedIn. I don't know any other coins that have a flag in that space and it's arguably the most professional (English-speaking, I suppose) social network out there. Anything that works over LinkedIn can ride on the site's respectability. If you're really interested in making DGB fly, here's my suggestion.

Get yourself around $30-$50 worth of DGB and pick 6-10 people who have endorsed you for a skill. Send each one $5 (or Euro or whatever) worth of DGB - enough to get an Amazon card from eGifter - with a thank-you note for their endorsement. Of course also include that you can help them redeem the DGB (via Shapeshift) if they want. These are people who know who you are, trust you and will likely to be happy to get a $5 gift card. More importantly, they're people no one else is likely talking to. We can fight over exchanges and prices and such all day or we can step out of this little cryptobubble we all live in and find a much bigger world to introduce to DGB.

This is a wonderful idea. Can you talk a bit more about the specifics regarding how easy it is (or isn't) to buy an Amazon card right on LinkedIn and how you can go about getting a Shapeshift redemption? I'm sure that would be useful information for everyone thinking about doing this

I like this idea very much but I'm wondering if we asking a little too much just yet, because firstly it appears that you have to convert your DGB to BTC using some other third party before you can buy a gift card. I am a little concerned that this would put people off,  too much effort involved and people may think it would just be easier to deal directly with bitcoin or even easier to use fiat via paypal.

Good point. I agree.

Very Serious Question

Where do you think the inputs for this transaction could have come from?
(This is not a quiz. This is a mystery to me and I'm looking for your help.)

All coins come from coinbase lol...You would have to follow them all to find out.

That's what I was thinking too.  Cheesy

I've realized what the answer is though, and it's very basic: a normal wallet operation. It's a good example for helping to better understand normal wallet functioning . . . which isn't all that easy or intuitive to understand at first. I've edited my original post.

Yeah thats what it looks like to me too. The wallets really simplify whats going on behind the scene with inputs and outputs and its important to understand what role inputs and outputs actually play on the network.

If you are interested in what goes on behind the scenes than the bitcoin developer documentation is an extremely valuable resource and well worth settings aside a few hours to read. https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-documentation

Correct!

One user, one transaction, sending 9,999,999 DGB from various addresses all within the same wallet with the wallet itself automatically sweeping the lowest priority inputs (from those different addresses in the same wallet) and matching them to a total equal to the send amount!

All the user sees is the basic send amount of 9,999,999, unless they're using Coin Control . . .

As it happens, it's a good example that's very closely related to yesterday's discussion about addresses and wallets!

(BTW, that's a great resouce you posted https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-documentation )

Our rich list leader has gotten very active. Almost 100 million sent to other addresses already, and many of those have already been spent as well. Down from almost 350 million to just a little more than 250 million. Interesting to watch.

I think he is not so happy with the richlist haha,Making it so much easier to follow him..

I think you're absolutely correct. Doesn't like the notoriety.

Looks like he/she is relaying to final destinations through 1 time only use of proxy addresses. Very smart and sofisticated. I wonder if this thread is on his/her daily reading list.  Cheesy

Making sure this can't happen to him/her. http://asistec-ti.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=78#p110

Add: certainly using batch commands as well (not that you gain any more security from that, but it does suggest we're working with a computer savvy user . . . interesting sidelight . . .)

Yeah. 30? I wouldn't hold my breath.

Nothing is guaranteed, but with any industry it's simple strategy to not reveal so you have enough of an edge that even when it goes public, competitors can not easily duplicate due to the time element. Either way, price fluctuation is normal. Let's see what happens. Coin is massively underpriced.

YC

Good to see this  Grin

When we hit the 30 sat next week i start buying again Smiley

30sat is way to low...Hope you dont get left behind  Wink
as long as DGB is lower then 70 sat i will keep buying more DGB.
u can never have enough DGB Grin

Surely it may seem 30 is very low, but I still remember the time when I bought DGB for 6-10 SAT and most of my stash comes from those times.

My point is that anything can happen to any digital currency, yes even to DGB.
But at this time, it is just difficult to see 30s.

Jared and the team put so much effort into DGB. I hope DGB succeeds.

im trying to start solo mining with sha256 but in this step cant change it on properties, not accept be renamed ... say its not valid name for target

Create a shortcut of your DigiByte wallet, right click, click properties append --server to the end of the TARGET line
(Example: C:\Users\User\Wallets\DigiByte\digibyte-qt.exe --server)
Save it and run your DigiByte Wallet as a server using that newly created shortcut.

Right-click the shortcut icon of your wallet
   a. choose Properties
   b. click the Shortcut tab
   c. in the Target, add -server to the end. (Example: "C:\Program Files\DigiByte\digibyte-qt.exe" -server)

Ok that runs ! but before open it completly give me an error with rpcuser and rpcpassword  Huh i change it to example wallet shows, but still giving me an error and closing wallet.

any idea?

and in algo= i type sha256d

http://asistec-ti.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=47#p77

Follow the instructions. It's as easy as 1-2-3.   Cool

HR,
As always, thanks for all your contributions and insight. This seems to be a bit of a more cumbersome method to keep launching wallets. I suppose the difference here is that you are creating MULTIPLE wallets with MULTIPLE addresses versus the first is a SINGLE wallet with MULTIPLE addresses. Am I correct in my understanding?

YC

Yes.

It's also a bit cumbersome, but much less cumbersome than using different machines, or virtual machines, etc.; however, if you're working with a 350 million DGB wallet, you might want to go out and buy a dedicated laptop.  Cheesy

As for another of your questions, the fees are the same as for any other transaction . . . it doesn't matter where the actual location of the direction is (even if they are two addresses in the same wallet on your own computer, the transaction still has to be run through the network and included in the blockchain).
1337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ $250k Investment, EasyMiner, iOS Wallet, MultiSig, TipBot on: April 06, 2015, 01:14:04 PM
For you folks that are larger holders of DGB, how are you splitting it with multiple addresses? Does the wallet allow you to send DGB within addresses when they are already in your wallet? I thought that capability was not there.

24, I am still alive! Thanks for checking up on me. I didn't forget you. Smiley

YC

Your wallet can hold multiple addresses. Lose your wallet, lose what's in every address. You can send from one address to another just like you can to any address created in the Blockchain. What's important to remember here is that if you want to backup your private keys (versus backing up the entire wallet), you need to back them up individually, one at a time.

If you want separate wallets for each address, follow these instructions:

1) install DigiByte Core
2) encrypt your wallet and let it sync
3) close DigiByte Core
4) backup your wallet.dat file and rename it anything you like, but something like wallet101.dat might help you keep track
5) launch DigyByte Core, and a new address will automatically be created and assigned to a newly created wallet.dat file
6) encrypt your wallet (no need to sync again, that was done already on the first install)
7) close DigiByte Core
Cool backup your wallet.dat file and rename it anything you like, but something like wallet102.dat might help you keep track
9) wash, rinse and repeat the number of times you like

IMPORTANT NOTE: Always rename your wallet before saving it to backup media, NEVER WORK WITH the base wallet.dat file! If you were to copy one with the other, you'd be "up the creek".

is there like a pool which automatically converts what you mined to digibyte?

i only have 280x so i want to mine at x11 x13 or something that asics cant. is there also an algo for cpu?

there is a pool that i mine x11 coins. start uro and cannabis but the site automatically converts it to syscoin which has scrypt algo

I think your profitability is highest mining DGB directly (even better than mining an x11 or x13 coin and then converting). I recommend the groestl algo. You can find pools on the OP and there's detailed info about setting up the best miner and configuration here and here. Give it a try and let us know.

wow 348 addresses with more than 1 btc investment.
36 with more than 1. i cant say this coin is well distributed but this coin sure does have a lot of real investors

is the number 1 wallet an exchange?

It could be. It could also be one of those "whale miners" who were mining millions a day before the Dec. 10 reward reduction.

On the other hand, anyone that big should know better than to keep that much in the same wallet, or is there really that much naïveté out there still?

If I only used one wallet, I'd be in the top 20, again, IF I only used one wallet.  Cheesy

Hey everyone, these are NOT bank accounts (and you wouldn't even have all your money in the same bank account - or bank for that matter - would you?)! The analogy is something more akin to a wallet you carry in your trousers, or a purse you carry on your shoulder. Would you put all your money in your wallet or purse?

Wake up and smell the coffee people! (That includes exchanges - if you're so stupid as to keep all your funds in one wallet . . . )

that guy is gonna be so effin rich if dgb reaches at least 1 usd

Looks like a private account too. The last transaction was done on Nov 28, 2014 at 9:24:41 PM. All inputs except for two sends of 1 DGB each!

Add: Looks like part of it at least was from mining. The inputs from DPBh9kG8zmveUDtPboMq5RFfR85tPSo9gU look like they were from a mining pool.

Lots can be found out with a little investigative work. ;-)
