I like the visual overhaul but feel like it is a bit too dark, and that there is not enough contrast.

Thanks for the feedback! Any specific color suggestions?

A black font on dark blue background is hardly legible on the homepage. The white font on blue background works fine after having logged in, I suggest to also use that setup on all pages.

You rock man Grin and welcome new members Wink

Thanks guys!  Grin

After a long break from mining, this is one of the most promising AltCoins I've seen in a while at the outset, so fingers crossed huh!

Yes, I agree.
This is one of the coin inspired by Bitcoin and with improvements over that oldie, this coin can take it mainstream. Hopefully!
This will of course depend on what the dev. team can do, and what we as a community can do to support it.

Welcome to the DigiByte community! We are glad to have you on board and we are working very hard to help DigiByte go main stream!

We have been hard at work on translating the main DigiByte website to several other languages as well as getting it indexed on search engines under various languages.

We have had several offers from people to help translate the site and we appriciate that. However, we have also had several people trying to make a quick buck by simply copy/pasting from Google Translate. We have been down this road before (original OP a year ago).

We don't mind giving people some DigiBytes to help us translate the site, but we feel this should be more of a community effort done by people working to help spread DigiByte in their local countries & communities. As such we are doing our best to screen bad actors and well keep adding new languages as approrpiate.

So far we have:

English: http://www.digibyte.co
Chinese: http://www.digibyte.co/zh-hant
Nederlands: http://www.digibyte.co/nl
French: http://www.digibyte.co/fr
German: http://www.digibyte.co/de
Italian: http://www.digibyte.co/it
Korean: http://www.digibyte.co/ko
Japanese: http://www.digibyte.co/ja
Greek: http://www.digibyte.co/el
Spanish: http://www.digibyte.co/es
Swedish: http://www.digibyte.co/sv

If you see translation errors please feel free to PM us or email dev@digibyte.co with the appropriate corrctions. We are also getting some trusted people logins to help with translations directly.

I see Digihash is back up, but I can't run such a low difficulty on my contracts (Max seems to be 256). Anybody know a reliable Digibyte pool where I can run a minimum 1024 difficulty with scrypt algo?

Multipool.us is a good scrypt pool for DGB. (plus you get free DOGE and VIA when you mine any scrypt coin).

My current miner setup: Linux - Ubuntu 12.04, Two 1.3Mh/s Scrypt ASICs, Two Radeon HD 7850 GPU mining different algos (usually qubit or skein).
Click here for my DGB Address QR code.   DGB Address: D6ZLjbSWu2mse3EqtoSn93nFrJ85wPKBF5
I have the DGB Gaming Wallet on my Galaxy S6

I'm a bit sad to see this very bad french translation... when I have told, 1 year ago and 6 months ago, that I'll be glad to translate the whole site in french in order to have a website properly translated. After several months, you finally took the decision to translate your website, but the guy who have translated it into french isn't a french one. There are too much faults and it seems that google translate was the way he did this translation.

If somebody is already working on this french version, I'll not spend my time to correct this bad work. But if you have nobody working on it yet, just tell me and I'll make a proper translation, in good french and without grammatical errors. Just PM me if interested. The job can be done for tomorrow (in few hours).

Spread the love is old hat. It's been used by too many coins too many times, and reflects a lack of originality. It also sounds childish and tacky. Always has. In my opinion it is the antithesis of serious and professional communication. WTF? Are we talking about dating or money?

How about something like, "Now you can show someone your appreciation and support with one easy click of the button"?

BTW, do you still have to register with your email in order to use the tipping function? I would use it if the only thing that I had to share was my output address . . .

On another topic, it's great to see all the new interest in mining, especially with so much emphasis on supporting the currency. As I've said before, if there aren't miners, there's no coin. We are its backbone, and don't ever forget it. When you mine, you support the network, and, ultimately, you support your investment. Stopping mining would be equivalent to throwing away your entire investment. I wouldn't worry about the short termers who sell on the cheap - that's their problem and the source of great bargains for long term investors. Anyone who mines and sells at current prices is simply an idiot that we all can take advantage of. In any event, a hearty welcome to new DGB miners. You're making one of the strongest (yes, already the strongest if you add together the total hashrates of all 5 algos - how many coins have a global average scrypt equalvalent hashrate of just over 2GH/s that has been steady at that rate for over 6 months now?) even stronger! (There are also other pools out there that are not listed on the OP - https://www.google.es/search?q=digibyte+mining+pool&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=Bz0sVaaeGcrZPdOogeAM#q=digibyte+DGB+mining+miners+pools - and most certainly a few private pools as well.)

And I leave my DigiByte love hardcore business reality statement of the day at that, oh, and with the repost below of something I put up a while back. Let's get real; this is a winner in all respects. Let's not hem and haw. Let's not be afraid to really say what DigiByte is: the second generation cryptographic currency leader. We are what everyone else want's to be!

BTW, everything said in the following ARE FACTS. Let that one sink in! Let's not be afraid to get the reality of DGB out there exactly how it is. There's no reason to water things down . . . unless we can't handle separating ourselves from the children still playing with the funny money they can't figure out how to turn into real money.

Here's some possible material to use as a jumping off point for voiceovers, written materials, etc., that was derived from a brainstorming session looking for catch phrases to build various material around. My hope is that the brainstorming doesn't stop here.

---------------------------------------o---------------------------------------

Why DigiByte?

It’s clear that the future is 'cryptographic', as in cryptographic digital currency, and while it may be clear to some that DigiByte is a clear winner, others may still be asking why they should choose DigiByte instead of some other, first generation, digital currency.

#1 Safety

DigiByte, a cryptographic digital currency, is 5 times more secure than first generation digital currencies since it combines the use of five of the most advanced, most secure, cryptographic algorithms currently known to mankind. While there are close equivalents, there simply is no other form of monetary exchange that is safer to use.

#2 Fast and Easy

DigiByte is also THE leader in transaction speed, ease of use, and low cost fee structure. With the simple selection of a receiving address and the click of a button, DigiBytes can be sent from anywhere in the world to anywhere else in the world with practically zero transaction fees and a super low, 3 minute, confirmation and verification time. There is simply no other cryptographic digital currency that matches up. (Edit, this was written before the announcement of the upcoming fork that will make DigiByte even faster, matching VISA's capabilities, so this can be spiffed up even more!)

#3 Independence

All this is independent of the traditional banking system, – it is all done person-to-person – and that, of course, is how transactions speeds and next-to-nothing transaction fees are achieved. What’s more, your money is even safer since it is you, and nobody else, who guards and manages your own money.

#4 The Future Is Here Today

Get started today by downloading your free DigiByte wallet from www.digibyte.co and then acquiring a small amount of DGB to begin familiarizing yourself with this promising new financial future. You can find of wealth of information from corporate offerings and news at www.digibyte.co, to community camaraderie at www.bitcointalk.org, to fantastic FAQ step-by-step instructions at www.asistec-ti.com that will make your getting up-to-speed the easiest and most enjoyable experience you ever imagined possible.

Why wait any longer to get started with this revolutionary way of managing your wealth? The future is here, and it’s only up to you to start participating.

This! I might be new to DGB, but I think the above comment is insightful and highlights the reason some other currencies will never escape the "novelty coin" persona, and will never become a truly serious mode of commerce. If DGB's aim is to see a dollar or more per coin, then it needs to exude a modicum of professionalism, security, and usability in the real business world.....

CEO: "I'll see your Hello Kitty coin and raise you 10 Furry Bear coins so you can feel my love"
CFO: "Eeeerm.... I don't feel comfortable sitting in this steam room with you anymore sir" 0_0

Maybe something like...

"Show your gratitude and support in just one click!"

or...

"Why just Like when you can Digitip!"
