He said bitcoin has no value, he did not know how bitcoin has helped economy, making poor people to become rich. Because of bitcoin, blockchain was created, helping the world. Countries are now making use of blockchain today. If not for bitcoin, there may be nothing like crypto exchanges today, see the tax the government are generating, also from other crypto businesses. See what people are generating from mining.

Why are you so butthurt? Bitcoin haters are gonna hate, no matter what.
Bitcoin helped the economy? Which economy? How Bitcoin helped poor people to become rich? By buying low and selling high?
Which countries are making use of blockchain today? Can you mention a few countries and how they are using blockchain technology?
Can you show me verified info about how much taxes are getting paid to the governments by global crypto companies around the world?
I don't care at all about this Peter Zeihan guy. We shouldn't waste our time with people, who don't want to understand Bitcoin/crypto and want to spread FUD and hatred over Bitcoin/crypto.
1322  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans are once again quitting their jobs at a growing rate on: January 10, 2023, 11:22:22 AM

The overall quits rate climbed from 2.6% in October to 2.7% in November. Quits in the private sector hit 3% again, an increase from 2.9% the previous month. Job openings also remained steady from October to November at 10.5 million.

Should we be worried about this statistic? The quit rate growing from 2.6% to 3% doesn't seem like a big deal to me.
The ability of the people to quit their job and find a better job fast is actually a good sign for the labor market and it's flexibility.
However, we don't know how many of the people, who are quitting manage to find new jobs.
I think that the amount of job openings will start decreasing at the beginning of 2023. The labor market cooling down is supposed to be a signal for decreasing inflation.

My question is, have you experienced this kind of gambling with Jersey numbers ?

Such weird number combinations are being used mostly by lottery gamblers, not by sports betting gamblers.
I haven't heard anything about this "gambling method", but I'm not surprised. Many gamblers try to find logic in places where there isn't any logic. Call it superstition or a "strategy", but at the end of the day, it's all about luck. The guy you mentioned was extremely lucky for once.
I bet a million dollars that the won't make any money with his future bets, by using this "jersey number" pseudo-strategy. Grin
1324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there truly crypto whales and what are your takes on them? on: January 10, 2023, 06:52:46 AM
BTC wallets containing large amounts are most likely owned by big crypto companies.
The true Bitcoin whales own several wallets and keep their BTC in all of them. You know the saying "Never put all eggs in one basket".
There's no reason for a Bitcoin whale to keep his BTC in one wallet. The risk is higher.
What do you mean by "our takes on them"? Every industry has it's own early adopters and successful investors, who profited the most out of the industry's growth. The crypto industry is no different. It doesn't matter if we like or hate the crypto whales, we can't deny them.
1325  Economy / Economics / Re: How do cryptocurrencies affect Global Economy? on: January 09, 2023, 11:30:50 AM

Is it true that cryptocurrencies will weaken the global financial system? That system which is managed by countries with the strongest economies with their currencies that has gained wide acceptance to be traded in financial markets all over the world.

This would have an impact on the global economy and the entry of digital currencies would weaken these countries from their control over the economy if other countries start to follow the same approach as the Venezuelan government, as the currency of these dominant countries used in commercial transactions and which has been linked to the prices of gold and precious metals will face Digital currencies whose printing and issuance are not controlled by any official entity.

1.Bitcoin/crypto exists for more than 10 years. Do you see any signs of the global financial system being weakened by Bitcoin/crypto?
I don't see such signs. Sad
2.The national currency of Venezuela-the Venezuelan bolivar is more worthless than toilet paper and the PETRO currency failed, because Venezuela is failing at it's own oil production. Please don't use Venezuela as an example for "financial independence".
3.The current fiat financial system will keep dominating the world in the upcoming several decades.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A superstitious strategy? on: January 09, 2023, 07:44:13 AM

Now, let's be some superstitious and say, if you play only when luck appears to be on your side, would you call that a good strategy?

That would be a great "strategy", if you successfully predict when you will have luck and when you won't have luck. Grin
There are times, when you have luck at the beginning of the game and later on your luck disappears and you lose everything.
Can anybody predict their luck? I don't think so. Superstition doesn't help at all, when it comes to predicting luck. It's just a placebo effect.
It's like all the traders, who are trying and failing at timing the market. "Buy low, sell high" sounds like a great "strategy". Grin The problem is that almost nobody can predict the market. The same thing applies to gambling and "having luck".

Re: The Failure of Exchanges can never be that of Bitcoin.

This statement is valid and has been repeated multiple times on the forum. Repeating it one more time doesn't make it more valid. Grin
It's true that the crypto exchanges exist mostly because of the altcoins, not because of Bitcoin. The original purpose of the crypto exchanges was to be some sort of "financial casinos", where the traders by and sell various "shiny objects", like altcoins, shitcoins, tokens, etc.
The crypto market was crazy speculative and the traders were expecting insane profits out of pump&dump schemes or they were waiting for some altcoin to become "the new Bitcoin".
I'm still a Bitcoin maximalist and I still think that the crypto world doesn't need altcoins and crypto exchanges.

1328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin What is the probability of 60 K+ again? on: January 08, 2023, 11:38:30 AM
2022 In 22 trade I have never had to accept so many losses since the advent of cryptocurrencies. Those who are mainly dependent on trade are now on the verge of destitution. Before 2022, it seems that trading has not suffered so much loss2022 is a cursed year for traders. If anyone has any idea on when bitcoin position will turn please share it will save many traders like me from losing.

Are you aware about the previous bear markets in the history of Bitcoin/crypto? It seems that you are a newbie trader.
Nobody knows the exact time when Bitcoin will start a major bull run, but I guess that it will be after the next BTC halving in 2024.
Are you a day trader? If yes, there's nothing you can do. If you are not a day trader, just don't panic and HODL your BTC for the next 2 years.
You shouldn't be dependent on your income from trading, because crypto trading is high risk. Get a job and earn a stable income, crypto trading should be your side hustle.
1329  Economy / Economics / Re: "Prepare for defation in 2023" on: January 08, 2023, 11:05:48 AM
I don't think that there's going to be a deflation in the USA(or global deflation). I expect a slightly lower inflation in 2023, maybe around 10-15%.
There are too many factors, which are pushing the prices up, fuel costs, global supply chain disruptions, the COVID wave in China.
Having higher interest rates in the USA means that many companies might decide to move their business in America. More investments in the industry would mean higher industrial production and more jobs. I don't really think that 2023 would be such a "doom&gloom" year for the USA.

1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Cassino Continue With Wagering Requirements, If Abuse is Eliminated? on: January 08, 2023, 07:21:47 AM
Quote
2: what do you think, if all necessary security checks are up to 100% and Abuse is totally eliminated from casinos, do you think gambling sites will make a no wagering requirement on their bonuses?
3: what conditional do you think could perfectly replace the wagering requirement in a casino that will serve players' purposes and also protect the revenue of the casino

1.The wagering requirement is the main protection against abuse. Can you come up with other security checks and anti-fraud measures?
It's like asking the question: "Would you rob a bank, if there are no guards, the cameras aren't working and you have all the keys?" Of course that some people will try to abuse the system, when the security is off.
2.The casinos, that offer bonuses without a wagering requirement will simply lose their money, because everyone will abuse the bonus system until the casino goes bankrupt. There's no alternative to the wagering requirement. The people, who think that KYC is a good replacement to the wagering requirement are naive. The darkweb is full with stolen ID pictures and info, which can be used for ID verification.
1331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you change your name to bitcoin for 2000BTC? on: January 08, 2023, 06:59:19 AM
What was the value of 2000BTC ten years ago? 5000 dollars? Nope, I wouldn't change my name to Bitcoin for several thousand dollars.
I would do it for a million dollars. Grin Bitcoin was totally unpopular back in 2012 and only a bunch of geeks/nerds were actively using and mining BTC on their PCs back then. I think that the guy was joking about changing his name. Bitcoin went to more than 60K USD, but I've never seen any news about people changing their names to Bitcoin(or people naming their kids after Bitcoin). Naming your kid after a currency seems like the dumbest thing ever. I don't know about any people named Dollar or Euro. Grin
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In search of reselling tipsters group on: January 06, 2023, 07:26:29 AM
Hey there,

does anybody can share with me any other group which are reselling tipsters picks something like TrickPicks or GlobalPicks in Telegram ?

p.s. i know buying reselling tips is not good  Wink

Thanks

If you know that buying reselling tips is not good, then why are you asking?
Do you really wanna buy tipster services from people you don't know?
Do you know how easy it is to fake screenshots from winning bets?
Do you know how easy it is to fake screenshots with "positive customer reviews"?
Are you addicted to sports betting?
Sorry for asking so many questions, but this topic seems weird.
1333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Logan Paul threatens to sue Coffeezilla over CryptoZoo scam accusations on: January 06, 2023, 06:51:39 AM

I think Paul is only trying to clear his name and set the record straight. He doesn't want his reputation damaged.

1.I don't think that this topic belongs to the Bitcoin Discussion forum. Logan Paul's project "Cryptozoo" is a Play2earn NFT thing, which has nothing to do with Bitcoin. Maybe someone should move this forum thread to the Altcoin Discussion forum.
2.No scammer wants his reputation to be damaged. This Cryptozoo project was intended to be a "pump and dump" scam right from the start.
Logan Paul and Cryptoking had a beef, so Cryptoking secretly sold tokens from the liquidity pool, which forced Logan Paul to block Cryptoking to access his tokens. At the end of the day, it's just two scammers, who don't trust each other, but want to get some easy money from the innocent people.
1334  Economy / Economics / Re: WEF On Cryptocurrencies: Crypto is here to stay on: January 05, 2023, 11:17:02 AM
The comparisons between the internet and the crypto industry will never end.
I don't want to be the guy, who puts salt in the wound, but crypto cannot be compared to the world wide web.
The internet has utility, but what's the utility of crypto? Buy low-Sell high? What's the utility of blockchain technology, other than being the infrastructure for a bunch of speculative assets(Bitcoin and the altcoins)? I'm not saying that Bitcoin being a speculative asset is something bad, but I simply can't seem to find any other utility tied to Bitcoin. Privacy? Well, BTC isn't anonymous. Being a currency for the unbanked?
In most cases, you can't buy BTC without a bank account. Yes, crypto is here to stay and the scams won't crypto from growing, but the real question is: How useful crypto actually is?
1335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Distortion Pattern on: January 05, 2023, 07:25:25 AM
The pattern depends on the gambling game.
I usually play poker, so most of the time I start winning slowly, but after a while, I get bored and lose everything. I lose everything because I get tired of waiting for a good hand, so I start taking higher risks.
With games like crash or dice, the pattern would be way different. I would be winning and losing small amounts and most of the time I just don't win big, because I hate making bigger best on such games. I have the hidden feeling that the crash/dice game might be rigged, when the players makes a bigger bet. Grin
1336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The mistake I made some years ago on: January 05, 2023, 06:53:51 AM
So you are surprised that a pyramid scheme turned into a scam? How shocking! Grin I didn't see that coming. Grin
I was scammed with 100 USD worth of BTC by a guy on Discord years ago, when the Bitcoin price was around 10K USD. Then the BTC price went to 60K USD, so I kept thinking that I've lost 600 USD not 100 USD. Anyway, it doesn't matter. We all make mistakes and we all get scammed by someone at some point. There's no point of regretting about the money we've lost. We just have to learn from our mistakes and avoid them in the future. A guy, who makes the same mistake twice is in idiot.
1337  Economy / Economics / Re: [Article] Good job, internet: You bullied NFTs out of mainstream games on: January 04, 2023, 11:05:37 AM
The NFT hype died because almost all NFT projects are scams, not because the crypto markets are facing a crypto winter.
If the decline of cryptocurrency prices was the main reason, then we should be witnessing more ICO tokens right now, because obviously all ICOs died due to the 2018 bear market, not because they were 99% scams. Grin
NFTs had a cool concept(in theory) which failed in reality, because no NFT owner can protect his NFT from being copied and used without his permission. Perhaps the NFTs will be replaced by a better system in the future. A system, that actually protects copyright.
P2E games are a ponzi scam, nobody can change my mind. Just look at the Youtube channel "Coffeezila" and his investigation against Logan Paul.
1338  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coinballer - An open-source multi-player Bitcoin gambling game. on: January 04, 2023, 07:19:30 AM
Do you want to make this as an actual gambling business or you are simply experimenting?
This forum thread seems kinda lazy for a serious gambling website.
Your concept isn't new and there were multiple games trying to copy the same concept.
I wonder how do you plan to stand out from the crowd and offering something, that's never seen before.
Your website looks clean and simply, but it lacks uniqueness.
Good luck with this project, but I'm not an optimist.

1339  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Etsy - but with Bitcoin on: January 04, 2023, 06:59:17 AM
You can do a Google search instead of asking here.
The funny thing is that when you type "Bitcoin marketplace for goods and services" 90% of the search results are crypto exchange platforms.
I've found websites like Bitmpremier.com and cryptothrift.com. The first one is claiming to be a Bitcoin marketplace for luxury items and the second one claims to be "the eBay of Bitcoin". I don't think that those websites have big amounts of traffic and a large userbase. I wouldn't use them, because they don't seem trustworthy, I don't want to spend my BTC on stuff I don't need.
Many of the older Bitcoiners remember Openbazaar, which failed to become a functional BTC marketplace.
1340  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does money bring you security ? on: January 03, 2023, 11:36:37 AM
Anxiety and fear are two different things. I can say that anxiety can be way worse than fear, because it's a condition that is pretty much genetically determined.
What is most important in life is to not get attached too much to material possessions. The existential suffering is caused by the desire for various things-money, power, even women. Controlling your desires will help you take control over your anxiety.
Money brings a false sense of security, but nobody is safe from accidents and nobody knows how and when death will come our way.
You can be poor and feel secure, while there are rich people, who will always feel insecure. My point is that our state of mind has little to do with our financial situation.
