461  Economy / Economics / Re: How to survive hyperinflation? on: November 16, 2023, 11:34:37 AM
How do you strategically navigate hyperinflation to safeguard your financial well-being?

Would you invest on crypto, stocks or household when the cash is not the king?

Invest in everything(crypto, gold, stocks, real estate, etc.) and just try to get rid of your shitty national currency as fast as possible.
Don't store money in your national currency in a local bank account. Try to convert them to USD, euro or any other stable currency.
In times of hyperinflation, the banks in your country will offer ridiculously high interest rates, in order to preserve the purchasing power of the money, but the hyperinflation will eventually eat that purchasing power, despite the high interest rates.
462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Winning big amount after watching streamer on: November 16, 2023, 11:05:03 AM
Congratulations. Did you manage to successfully withdraw your profits?
What's the point of this forum thread? Bragging about your winning or trying to find a weird connection between watching this particular streamer and your profit? I can't find such connection other than what you have mentioned(being motivated to gamble by watching other people gambling). You were lucky. Enjoy your profits, but I don't think that you will have any luck, if you start playing slot games every day.
I hate watching gambling streamers. It seems sketchy to me and it's a waste of time. I'm not going to learn anything new about gambling just by watching a streamer waste his money on slots games(he is getting paid to do this, so he doesn't lose anything actually).
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to bitcoin price if Solar superstorm 'wipe out the internet'? on: November 16, 2023, 06:58:24 AM
While browsing through social media, I came across an article that mentioned Solar superstorms could 'wipe out the internet' for weeks or months, scientist says. Will the loss of internet connectivity for weeks or months affect the value of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin? What will be the outcome?

Source: https://www.foxweather.com/earth-space/solar-storm-wipe-out-internet

I'm not an expert in this field, but I remember reading somewhere about modern day electric grid being able to survive a solar storm.
I don't know anything about solar superstorms and I don't think that a solar superstorm will hit the planet Earth anytime soon.
If the electric grid gets destroyed by such superstorm everything will be affected, not just Bitcoin. The global economy and the global financial markets would also be affected. I think that the financial markets will be simply closed and nobody would be able to buy and sell for a while.
Everything will get back to normal, after the electric grid gets repaired.
464  Economy / Speculation / Re: This bullish momentum - Breaking through the $35,000 mark on: November 15, 2023, 11:55:25 AM
Last week was highly anticipated for Bitcoin (BTC) enthusiasts, as it saw the price surge above levels not seen in over a year. Taking a look at the moving averages, the MA-20 (in red) has shown significant strength compared to the MA-50 (in orange) and has managed to avoid any negative trends this month. This suggests a positive sentiment for the world's largest digital asset.
On the technical front, the RSI (Relative Strength Index) is poised for a potential move into the overbought territory. This might lead to profit-taking as BTC could reach new yearly highs once again.

This bullish momentum, breaking through the $35,000 mark, is largely attributed to the growing optimism surrounding the potential approval of a Bitcoin Spot ETF by the SEC.

Overall, the next targets for BTC can be placed at $36,000 and $38,000, respectively. In case of profit booking momentum, support levels can be placed at $33,000 and $30,000, respectively.

Frankly speaking, I couldn't care less about MA-20 or MA-50. I think that the price will start doing down back to 30K USD.
I don't understand the growing optimism about the Bitcoin Spot ETF approval. I'm usually pessimistic, when there's too much optimism on the markets. I have the feeling that the Bitcoin ETF won't be approved and this will cause a price crash back to 20-25K USD.
In 2024, there will be a short term recession, which will cause price drops across all financial markets. I don't believe that Bitcoin will turn into a legit safe heaven asset. I'm still optimistic about 2025, though.

How do I take advantages over the gambles while I am not gambling anymore?
I tend to invest in the gambling. How?
At my visits in the gambling grounds, I will be lending my funds to the losers who has run out of  funds and willing to bet more if they have more money.
I tends to make this a deal with interest charges with concrete agreement to be secured and I will be opened to also accepting collaterals.

I verily know that I will succeed more of the inexperienced and those gamblers who doesn't have gambling budgets including those who can't take control over their gambling emotions

So basically you want to become a "loan shark" and you want to financially exploit gambling addicts? I wouldn't call this "investing".
This seems more like a mobster tactic. Can't you just come up with a better business plan or a somewhat original idea?
By investing in gambling, the first thing that comes in my mind is trying to build your own online casino or buying a share in an existing casino.
Are you sure that most gambling addicts have a collateral, in order to get borrow money from you?
Do you really think that the gamblers will be able to repay those loans and the interest rates?
Good luck with you so called "investment".
466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High fees are not bitcoin's destinty on: November 15, 2023, 06:37:05 AM
The Bitcoin miners don't mind the Ordinals, because they make bigger profits from higher transaction fees.
If there wasn't any Ordinals, another feature might be introduced and it will congest the BTC blockchain with transactions that will be viewed as unnecessary by most Bitcoiners. We have to face the truth, that the Bitcoin Core blockchain simply cannot handle massive amounts of transactions without getting congested. This is one of the problems that will always stop the mass adoption of Bitcoin. Making the block size bigger doesn't solve the problem and BCH is a living proof. Bitcoin isn't perfect. Bitcoin isn't a financial panacea for all problems.
467  Economy / Economics / Re: Honestly do we really got rugpulled in pandemic? on: November 14, 2023, 11:12:13 AM
What do you mean by "we"? The people in India suffered from the pandemic in a different way compared to the people in USA.
The old people suffered during the pandemic in a different way, in comparison to the young people. There's no "we", if you ask me.
Some people got paid stimulus checks for nothing and they enjoyed a big "vacation" during the lockdowns, while others had to survive without government aid and without a substantial income. Who got "rugpulled"? The first group or the second group? The answer is pretty obvious, but do you think that the governments had any choice. Without the lockdowns, the healthcare systems would've probably collapsed, causing the death rate to reach unprecedented levels.
Searching for conspiracy theories about "rugpulls" planned by the global rich and powerful elites is a completely different subject.

Your parents are very rich and they have made a will while they are still alive Your parent is disinheriting you on the ground on one of the laws in our country about disinheritance that

How the heir would know about the will of his parents? Isn't the will supposed to be kept a secret, until his parents die?
If the heir knows about the will, he will do the best he can to make the will invalid. This doesn't make any sense, if you ask me.
I don't know much about the inheritance legislation in my country, but I think that, in my country, the parents could disinherit their kids, even if their kids don't have a dishonorable and disgraceful lifestyle. I'm not a lawyer and I don't know how a gambler can prove in court, that he is a moderate gambler and not a gambling addict. Perhaps the court will have to commission psychic doctors to examine the gambler.

Now he is a victim to a WhatsApp group that opened a exchange and told him to invest through them, I never knew he had up to $3000 for investment, he never sound like someone who is ready to invest a lot and secondly I thought he was a time waster, now he can't withdraw his Bitcoin from the fake exchange.

Do you really think that he will put the blame on you for his stupid decision?
Did you told him to "invest" his savings in that particular "crypto exchange?
I think that your friend is a victim of his own greed.
Why is it so hard to tell these three things to all crypto noobs:
1.Never trust centralized exchanges or crypto companies in general.
2.Always do your own research before putting your money somewhere.
3.Use a cold wallet instead of a hot wallet(explain them the difference between cold and hot wallets).
I'm sure that 99% of the crypto noobs are smart enough to understand these core principles.
470  Economy / Economics / Re: The Thailand government will distribute money to its citizens. Economists critic on: November 13, 2023, 01:04:59 PM
This looks like something between a voucher system and a "helicopter money" government program.
I wonder how this program will be funded. Does the government of Thailand have 50 billion dollars in the form of reserves, or the money will come from the foreign creditors.
Such "helicopter money" programs usually lead to two things-short term revival of the economy and long term inflation.
Perhaps the "expiry date" of these "electronic vouchers" are a measure against future inflation. This seems like an interesting idea in theory, but I don't know what will happen in reality. Perhaps the impact of this program will be short term, and the economy will return back to it's previous state(before the program launch) after this weird "e-cash" thing expires.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 12:24:40 PM
Why do I have the feeling that this question has already been asked 1000 times in the Gambling forum? Grin
There's no guarantee that a KYC casino won't scam the gamblers, by blocking their accounts. KYC is definitely not a "silver bullet", that will solve all problems.
I'm still searching for people, who are totally OK with sharing their sensitive data over the internet(like pictures of their ID cards). Grin
You give your personal info to a private company, that has a gambling license in some obscure offshore jurisdiction(and you don't know anything about that company). What could possibly go wrong? Grin
I'm not advocating for non-KYC casinos. I'm simply waiting for the bright future, when gambling will become 100% decentralized and you won't have to rely on the legitimacy of a third party to keep your gambling money(and your personal info) safe.

472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 13, 2023, 11:41:05 AM
1200 BTC is 44 million dollars. I highly doubt that someone, who lost 44 million dollars would use Quora to ask questions about how to recover them. Grin
My advise to newcomers is to always stay cautious, don't trust anyone and do your own research.
If you ever lose a big amount of crypto, just call the police and get a lawyer. Don't trust "crypto experts", which you have found over the internet.
If would be nice if OP shares the Telegram and Whatsapp details of those scammers. We could use this info for scambaiting purposes. Grin

Quote from: _act_ link=gotopic=5473794.msg63144574#msg63144574 date=1699782528

I just want to ask a question. Assuming people are buying the foreign currencies and hold it in their domiciliary account and not used in another country for buying of goods to be imported, is the foreign reserves decreasing like that? I mean if the foreign currencies is bought by the citizens of a country and hold in their bank account, and not used to buy from another country.

You are answering your own question. The foreign currency reserves are held by the central bank of a certain country, not by the citizens of that country in their personal bank accounts. Usually the central banks are holding their currency reserves in other central banks, not in the form of cash, but in the form of highly liquid government/treasury bonds.
In general, having less foreign reserves mean that the central bank of that particular country can't intervene in the currency markets, when the national currency drops down in value. The countries with less foreign reserves tend to have higher inflation levels and less valuable national currencies.
When more people want to open bank accounts in USD or Euro, this means that the demand for USD/EURO in that country does up and the demand for the local currency does down. This means that the local currency becomes less valuable.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 12, 2023, 07:31:36 AM
What do you mean by "Bitcoin trader"? The traders on the crypto markets don't trade Bitcoins only. They trade altcoins as well.
A good gambler can become a good crypto trader. A bad gambler will always be a bad crypto trader. I don't know about a bad gambler becoming a good trader. This simply cannot happen in the real world.
The sad truth is that most traders as well as most gamblers end up losing their money. I don't know the exact percentage, but I think that 90% of the traders and 95% of the gamblers are bad, which means that they just lose all their money without making any profits.

Is it possible to enhance the Blockchain such that it can handle an infinite number of transactions every second without jeopardizing its decentralization and security?

Do you know about a fiat payment system, that can handle "infinite" amount of transactions? I don't know about such system.
Do you know about an altcoin blockchain, that can handle "infinite" amount of transactions? I don't know about such altcoin blockchain.
Your question about enhancing the Bitcoin blockchain to infinite amount of transactions without sacrificing security should be pointed towards the Bitcoin developers. Most of the users on this forum aren't Bitcoin developers. They are buyers/traders/investors.
Maybe your forum thread should be moved to the Technical Discussion forum.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What impact does the BTC price have on your gambling habits? on: November 10, 2023, 11:07:52 AM
The Bitcoin price has zero impact over my gambling habits. Why are you asking this question? Does the Bitcoin price have any impact over your gambling habits? I agree with other forum members that gambling with a deflationary currency/asset like Bitcoin seems totally stupid, because the BTC price might grow in the future. That's why I usually gamble with really small amounts of BTC or with fiat/altcoins.
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if some country decides to pay pension to working population in bitcoin ? on: November 10, 2023, 07:54:37 AM
What if some country decides to pay pension to working population in bitcoin ? What percent of people will agree to getting pension in bitcoin in your opinion  ? What will be the benefits and limitations of this occurrence in long term on people and economy ?

This won't happen and there's no point of discussing it. I won't ever analyze the ridiculous idea of getting your pension in the form of a very volatile asset. And yes, the BTC transaction fees would probably go through the roof.
All those "what if" questions are stupid. What if the central banks start buying BTC and putting it in their currency reserves?
Yeah, that would be great, but it will never happen.
What do you mean by "paying pension to working population"? The working population doesn't get pensions. The retired population gets pensions. Grin
478  Economy / Economics / Re: India is the new economic leader of global south. And replacement for China?... on: November 09, 2023, 12:04:12 PM
1.I don't see China openly surrendering any positions. Maybe you could elaborate more on where do you see China surrendering their economical and political positions. China has some internal problems with big debts and a real estate bubble, but their economic growth will continue to be one of the highest in the world.
2.Can't you just compare the GDPs of India and China. India is far behind China and it won't become an economic leader anytime soon.
China has natural resources like rare minerals. I don't know about India having any natural resources. The only big advantage of India is the enormous population, but this can be a double edged sword, because 99% of those people are very poor and uneducated. The "poverty trap" is a big problem for India.
479  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Aviator platform on: November 09, 2023, 07:35:06 AM
Hello there!

I'm a big fan of the Aviator game, and in my opinion, the best platform to play Aviator is Becric. You can check out a review of it at this link: https://aviator-game.in/review/becric/.

Becric offers a fantastic gaming experience with Aviator, and I've had some great times there. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences as well. Have you tried playing Aviator on Becric, or do you have other recommendations?

1.Is this aviator-game.in review website yours? I wouldn't visit websites, that have suspicious looking domains.
What is this .in domain? Is this an Indian website?
2.I have never heard of Becric before. Is this some online crypto casino?
I did a google search for Becric.com and the Trustpilot reviews of this casino are really bad.
Becric has a 1.5 score out of 190 reviews on Trustpilot.
Promoting this casino here with such obscure newbie posts seems like a bad idea.
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 09, 2023, 07:01:45 AM
I don't have to cope with this BS, because I keep my Bitcoin/crypto journey a secret.
Your financial situation is your business, not anyone else's. The people in your social circle should mind their own business and you are not obligated to share information about your financial situation with them. Sharing info about your finances with your social circle(or complete strangers) seems stupid to me. Your financial status is your responsibility. There's no point of getting butthurt just because many people don't like or understand Bitcoin/crypto. Everyone has his own opinions and there's no point of trying to convince anybody about anything.
