13221  Other / Meta / Re: I want to change my nickname in the forum. I request an admin. Who can help me? on: January 23, 2018, 02:14:02 AM
You can't. Create a new account or keep your name.

The only way you can change your name is if you have a good reason and theymos (forum admin) allows (probably not gonna happen) or if you pay 50BTC to become a VIP member. So that's it.

Thread answered. You can now lock it at the bottom-left part of the page. And spammers, please go somewhere else.
13222  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: PLEASE HELP! Accidentally sent USD to my Trezor on: January 23, 2018, 01:52:16 AM
I believe what you sent to your BTC address was USDT, right? You can recover them by exporting the specific address private-key and importing it in a USDT compatible wallet. But this could compromize the wallet as the private-keys should never leave the device, and exposing them could be dangerous.

If you still want to continue:

1. Go to https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ (download the source and run offline for better privacy)
2. Write your Trezor seed in the "BIP39 Mnemonic" field.
3. Scroll down and you should see all your BTC addresses.
4. Find the address where you sent the USDT to and copy the private-key.
5. Go to https://www.omniwallet.org/
6. Create a new wallet.
7. Go to My Addresses -> Add Address -> Import Address with Private Key -> Paste the private-key from step 4.
8. You should be able to see the USDT in the address and spend them.
13223  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Seed and Authenticator lost on: January 22, 2018, 09:21:34 PM
Usually you can't. You will either need the seed to get hold of 2-of-3 keys necessary to spend the coins or the 2FA to make TrustedCoin sign the transaction to you.

But recently a user[1] said that he emailed TrustedCoin and they gave him his 2FA secret QR (very unlikely but idk). I still think that's impossible, but trying that wouldn't hurt you.

13224  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: January 22, 2018, 06:12:28 PM
so deepwebtalk, deepdotweb... can't we force them to take down the articles?
or are they the one who responsible created the scam clone websites? and intentionally created fake news articles
I made a comment on the DeepDotWeb's article page and they changed the link to the correct .onion url.

AFAIK they are a "famous" news website in the DNM world, so maybe they (somehow) fucked up and thought the fake version was the original?
13225  Other / Meta / Re: Inquiry about rules to avoid getting banned in the forum on: January 22, 2018, 06:01:51 PM
Maybe start reading the stickied Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ or Newbies - Read before posting.

Not sure why no one linked them already...
13226  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Forgot Mycelium PIN on: January 22, 2018, 06:51:05 AM
I'm not sure if this still works, but if you have a rooted android phone, you can try to do that[1] to get your PIN.

If you are using iOS or your phone isn't rooted, you will need to clear the app data or uninstall it, then restore your wallet with the backup seed and setup a new PIN.

13227  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: User-Friendly Lightning Wallets on: January 22, 2018, 04:03:12 AM
Just FYI (@btcton and @Cobalt9317), you can create an Electrum Segwit wallet with p2sh addresses (starting with 3) which are supported by every service/exchange.

yes, right..

to have segwit addresses starting with a 3 in Electrum just follow these simple steps:

1) generate a bip39, 12 words seed on https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ (use it offline for more security)
2) on electrum choose, File -> New/Restore -> Standard Wallet -> I already have a seed -> click on "options" and choose bip39, write the seed then click next
3) on derivation path path use: m/49'/0'/0'/0

that's all. Remember to save in a safe place the seed as electrum will not show it (read below)

I did this and I'm already using Segwit addresses for every one of my transaction. I made a test with a 1 input/1 output transaction and I'm getting half fees than a legacy wallet.
13228  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 11BTC Removed from Electrum Account... Looking for answers on: January 22, 2018, 03:05:06 AM
Was your wallet password protected? If so, them the exploit has nothing to do with that.

You probably:

a. Had a malware in your computer.
b. Downloaded a infected version of Electrum in a phising website. (The only official website Electrum has is electrum.org)

13229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to recover my Bitcoin on: January 21, 2018, 10:02:43 PM
No. Mycelium makes it clear that the 12 words seed is the most important thing in your wallet and without it, you can't restore your wallet. Why would you ignore the big warning in the screen and not write them down?
13230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lots of issues sending bitcoin from Local Bitcoins on: January 21, 2018, 09:04:36 PM
Maybe (probably) because of the transaction fees? Can you post the transaction ID here?

P.s: 0.0023 is way to low if you want to use a mixer. You will need to pay a fee to take the coins from Localbitcoins and most mixers will charge a fee that will eat almost half of the transaction, then, you will still need to pay a third fee to move the mixed coins from your wallet to the final address. You will end up with almost anything (or nothing at all).
13231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Clicked phising link - quickly help? on: January 21, 2018, 07:33:14 PM
Depends. Usually nothing happens if you don't download or share any private information such as passwords or private-keys in the phising website. But if you are too paranoid and hold a huge amount of crypto, you may want to run a virus scan on your PC or even reinstall the OS (I know people that would do that). Can you PM me the url so I can take a look?
13232  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / Re: (AYUDA) ESTOY EN PANICO!!! ENVIE BCC A UNA DIRECCION DE BTC on: January 21, 2018, 04:09:03 PM
This is a English only board. If you want to make posts in Spanish, you will need to use the Espaņol (Spanish) board.

For everybody else: OP is saying that he bought BCC (Bitcoin Cash) from SurBTC (a Spanish exchange which is now called BUDA) and sent them to his Bitcoin deposit address at Bittrex.

OP: Only Bittrex can recover your coins. According to their support, they will recover them for a fee of 0.1BTC, but only if the amount you sent is worth at least $5000.

13233  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Mew private key needed with Ledger Nano s? on: January 21, 2018, 03:19:35 AM
MEW will connect to your device and act as a client for your Nano S. The wallet and addresses will be the same as shown in your Nano S, so you will only need to backup your Nano S seed.

13234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Eth address on: January 21, 2018, 03:17:47 AM
Do we need to have ethereum wallet only if they pay us ethereum token?
Yes. As the name says, the token works inside the Ethereum chain. So they are stored in your Eth address.

And with regards to bitcoin wallet, i have already coins.ph app. Is it okay?
Coins.ph is an exchange and not a wallet. The best option would be to use a desktop wallet where you control your private-keys (such as Electrum).
13235  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Coinbase to Electrum HUGE fee on: January 21, 2018, 12:11:11 AM
bitcoin fees are high, what do you expect.  try Bitcoin Cash.
He should try Doge instead. Average fee of $0.01 compared to the $0.23 that Bcash has.

13236  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coss Exchage Problem on: January 20, 2018, 10:32:57 PM
I actually believe that they are handling the situation very well. It's not that easy for exchanges to recover coins sent to the wrong wallet. A dev would need to do everything manually (like they said), they probably receive tons of new tickets per day that they need to handle and everything was your fault. So it's obviously that they will ask for a fee.

Man, 0.1 bitcoin? this is too expensive.

There is nothing you can do. They are the only ones that can get them for you, so they decide the price that is "worth their effort" =/

At least they provide you with that option (e.g: for those that lost thousands and 0.1BTC is not that much). There are many exchanges that wouldn't care about you and just keep the money.
13237  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can not create a new wallet with my private key on: January 20, 2018, 10:15:23 PM
I have these, 'receiving address' is private key right? I also have my seed.
No. These are the address (the ones you give publicly to receive coins and starts with a 1, 3 or bc1). Private-keys are 51/52 characters long and starts with a 5, L or K.

If you have the seed, you can use it to restore your wallet by choosing: Standard Wallet -> I already have a seed -> Paste the seed -> Next.
13238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to set up a 2 FA in a laptop? on: January 20, 2018, 07:43:08 PM
A few options: You can use Authy, an open-source Windows software like WinAuth or a Chrome extension like Authenticator.

13240  Other / Meta / Re: How to report trust feedback? on: January 20, 2018, 03:43:30 PM
I did have post one liners but that's all I has to say, though their short they already have the thought in it, And Not all my post are one liners I'll even put a link of my sources when I have to. Are there rules saying you are shitposting when your post is below 2 paragraphs or below a certain number of characters? Should I delete my one liner posts?
Not everything needs a paragraph to explain.  Especially when you are a newbie.  Any advice given as a newbie is brushed away since you are infact a newbie and should still be learning the ropes.  This is the newbie section after all.  This should be a safe place to post quick comments and thoughts without fear of being belittled by people.
I know. I never said that you need to make a big text to say something or for your post to have quality. If you see my post history, you will see that I do a lot of one-liner posts. Quality > Quantity.

Example:
Have you set an address when you login to the website dashboard and click the button "OPTIONS: wallets" to open the Global options screen?

@SerioGiocatore: But regardless of the number of characters your posts have, they DON'T have any quality. And that's where the trust is valid. You do what a lot of lazy new users do when they join the forum to earn money and just want to rank up fast: answering generic mega threads with generic answers (which have already been said in previous posts) that do not stimulate any discussion. You are just "padding out". (I'm not sure if that's the right word)
