Everyone is in this game to make profit. Everyone is in everything to make profit. If people can't do their own research and find the market price, than so be it. They will buy at a higher price if they want, and if they due diligence on the price, they will find the best price.

The sellers set the prices they want to sell at, so stop attacking all these people for selling at higher prices than market. The 0.3 price is cheaper than the 0.7 that dacoinminister (founder) is selling, so everyone should stop busting buymastercoin's balls.

Especially DGulari, this guy is always flipping shit on all mastercoin threads, accusing some people of scammers and such. Because he can't find any buyers for his prefunded order..
Make a profit all you want.  I don't have anything against profit.  Nobody is complaining about that.  Also, charge whatever price you want.  Fine.

What we are against is deception and trickery.  buymastercoin is a fucking trick because they take advantage of their position on the official site to suck in those not sophisticated enough to find the real market.  The trick actually works!  There is at least one guy here who trusted the official site to put a decent recommendation to honorable sales agent - which turned out to be bullshit and it cost the guy thousands of dollars.  Buymastercoin.com is a dishonest scam agent.  Their prices and marketing tactics are bullshit.  I knew this from the very start when they started spamming the blockchain with adds during the Mastercoin buy-in / Exodus process.  Fuck them.
1342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 17, 2013, 04:08:33 PM
Does the foundation have no responsibility at all for the sites it promotes? Does Ron Gross - Board Member / Executive Director and J.R. Willett Mastercoin Protocol Founder / Board Treasurer have no opinion about this matter? I would really appreciate to hear their opinion or anyone of the Mastercoin Foundation Board of Directors opinion on this subject. The sooner the better

It seems like the executive director is involved in this ripoff in some way.
If Ron is involved, you can vote him out of the Executive Director position next election.  I think if Ron knows the guy, he ought to fully disclose that now.

I demand that Ron speak up on this topic - or held accountable next election.  The ExDir shouldn't have buymastercoins.com as a 'friend'.  If so, then people will think the whole thing is rigged.  It is just bad business keeping friends like that.

Ron?
1343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 17, 2013, 12:57:25 AM
We would like to respond to the recent comments on this thread, but first of all to say kudos to maxmint for setting up mcoin.io. This is a greatly needed tool, especially for us at BuyMastercoin.com. Liquidity has been a great issue so far in this economy, since most everyone is hoarding.

I'd like to start by saying that there are many of those selling Mastercoins on mcoin.io, the orderbook, and other third party sites for 0.3-10 BTC/MSC. Infact the average asking price is well above what we sell our Mastercoins. JR who holds ~30% of the coins has publicly stated he will not sell for less than 1 BTC/MSC, and if someone offered him that he wouldn't think twice to sell. Nobody is calling these people scammers.

I'd like to add that we have always fulfilled every single order we received and have responded to every single email. We attempt our best to acquire Mastercoins for our customers at a low price point but unfortunately there are barely any sellers. The orderbook is highly outdated, and it is impossible that every order that we receive we would go to the forum hoping to find someone who is online and willing to sell. Our stated goal is to provide a SAFE, EASY, and CONVENIENT way for customers to purchase small and medium amounts of Mastercoins, and we are proud of achieving this goal.

The idea that the orderbook denotes a "market price" is very misleading, especially with 90% being outdated orders. Considering the amount of Mastercoins we sell (and buy) if we were to purchase directly from the orderbook it would push the price sky high or dirt low because of the low market depth and limited availablility. Those who are willing to contact us before hand and setup a pre-order as opposed to an on the fly order receive better rates since it allows us time to acquire liquidity. For those who simply want to buy a mastercoin or two, our only option is to purchase directly from sellers who will not sell at artificial orderbook rates.

We have been the number one source for newcomers to easily acquire Mastercoins and have been helping boost awareness, knowledge and the availability of Mastercoin by creating new demand. Those who hold mastercoins should love us since we helped raise the price of mastercoin by bringing huge amounts of BTC into the market that otherwise wouldn't have come in.

Without us there would be no way for certain people to get Mastercoins since not everyone speaks english, has a bitcointalk account and trusts a google doc orderbook. We have processed more orders and volume than all other sellers combined. We teach people how to send and receive Mastercoins. So for those who feel we are "scamming" simply read the directions on our homepage, contact us for bulk rates, and you will be surprised at the low prices we can actually offer.

-BuyMastercoin.com
Not just a scammer - a scammer who thinks he is legit.  What a joke.  "SAFE, EASY, and CONVENIENT " @ 200% the price.  The order book closely keeps a fair market value.  You ripped that guy off because he was naïve.  Not because the order book was outdated.  The only thing worse than a scammer is a lying scammer.  If it was a fair deal - then why don't you refund his money?  Scammer?

1344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCoin: New Protocol Layer Starting From “The Exodus Address” on: December 17, 2013, 12:07:16 AM
What unit will be for the coming wallet,   MSC or mMSC ?
This is a very interesting question.  In Vegas, someone took the time to explain that 'Bitcoin' was the network and protocols and community of participants - while 'bitcoin' was a unit of account.  That is, 'bitcoin/Bitcoin' are actually two different things.

Now we are faced with the notion of 'millibitcoin'.  Those who are not computer nerds hate things like 'milli', 'micro', 'nano'.  While scientific notation makes most of us squirm and giggle in our seats with great joy, it is a pain in the ass to real people.

Mastercoin is the protocol and community as far as I am concerned.  I'd even be delighted if we had no currency.  Let bitcoin be the currency.  It is a good currency.  We don't need another one.  But we do have to name the unit of account of Mastercoin.  Mastercoin is a very dumb name.  That is the name of the system.  Lets give the unit of account for the Mastercoin system a distinct name.

Bitcoin will forever fuss about with millis and mBits, and so forth.  It is a serious impediment for the simpletons to understand.  Without a good nickname, the unit of account is hard to understand.
1345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 09:36:32 PM
But I'm really encouraging everyone to use the new order book.
\
No matter how good the new system is, the familiar system always seems to be easier.  It is so hard to migrate people over to a new platform.
Sorry Max, I had a bit of a hard time understanding the new system.  I'll work with it more later.  Thanks for putting it together for us.
1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 07:35:45 PM
It's not right. Either he should lower his prices, or the foundation tone down the advertising, or place some sort of disclaimer.
Normally, I think disclaimers are BS.  Buyer beware.  But since at least one guy was clearly sucked into this hole, we have evidence that the trap is a working trap and has actually caught people off guard.  I say get rid of the scammy behavior.  We don't need that.

If buymastercoin.com did not deliver on purchase you could call it "a scam".
You agree with the given price per mastercoin. The fact you are not checking anywhere else for better prices is not the problem of buymastercoin or Mastercoin itself.
Clearly this is your site.  Nobody could defend this kind of crap.
1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 07:25:17 PM
Buymastercoin.com isnt a scam, it is advised to buy Mastercoins through buymastercoin.com to avoid problems.
They do deliver the Mastercoins if bought.
Yeah, 'avoid problems'.  Like paying 200% of what the market rate is?  That could be a problem.

Mastercoin foundation has an executive director who is friends with the buymastercoin guy.  I think it is a conflict of interest to give the appearance of endorsement.  If you ask me, Ron ought to get rid of that guy just because it is 'scammy' - albeit they will send you the MSC after you paid way too much.  Mastercoin simply doesn't need crap like that to piss people off.
1348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coindesk - China might have just killed BTC there. on: December 16, 2013, 06:48:59 PM
No kidding.  China's stance against bitcoin has just moved from 'firm' to 'outrageous'.  This is going to have a serious effect for a few months.  But who cares?  Can't stop bitcoin with these stupid laws.  You'll just disadvantage your country's economy.  Bitcoin is coming whether they like it or not.  The rest of the world will carry on without china for a while.  I didn't like the dominate position they were working themselves into last month anyway.  I for one am glad they put that fire out.

Next week I am going to buy some bitcoin on heavy discount.  All those Chinese who paid $1,200 are going to be taking $400 from me.  By March, we'll all be right back up to $1,000!!!  What a steal.
1349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fast drop to 800 on: December 16, 2013, 06:45:30 PM
Don't listen to the guy above me. Never trust people who tell you what to do.
Isn't that sort of like telling people what to do?  Moron.
1350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fast drop to 800 on: December 16, 2013, 06:19:08 PM
Anyone know exactly why bitcoin is falling again?  Not that it bothers me too much, just wondering what's happening in the markets to get people scared enough to start selling this much?
China made another severe restriction of bitcoin use.  This one seems much deeper than the last to me.  I think we will see bitcoin at $400 in two days.  Sell NOW!!!!
1351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 04:02:58 PM
Max - could you please adjust the price only on my prefunded sell order?  Presently the price is .1999.  I'd like you to change that to .1899.  I want to get the green prefunded order into the action so more will look at it and possibly adopt this strategy.

Thanks
1352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 03:56:05 PM
the  mastercoin fundation will accept your site instead of the fucking buymastercoin.org
I'll agree with you, buymastercoin.org is a fucking scam.  What kind of a loser wants to make a profit in that fashion?  However, the mastercoin foundation doesn't have anything to do with that crook.  Mastercoin foundation will also put advertisement from your company no matter how dumb the price is on your product.  Mastercoin doesn't endorse the advertisers who use the site.  However, I can see the conflict from your point of view.  I wish Mastercoin Foundation would dissociate from that scammer as it just looks bad.  Additionally, sometime people get tricked and it leaves a bad feeling.  buymastercoin.org was also the one spamming the hell out of the blockchain while the Mastercoin funding was occurring.  Idiots.

Zathras, thanks for the filtered version btw. That's exactly what I needed Smiley
Grin
This is going to go a long way to getting this thing perfect - fast.

Bonus to Zathras
1354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 03:55:37 AM
Can you pre-fund buy orders?
You bet.  Send BTC to Maxmint.  When someone wants to accept, they will send MSC and the deal is done.  Simple, Sure, Easy, Guaranteed.

Place a prefunded order now.
1355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 03:39:26 AM
I would like to buy 10 Mastercoin at .15 each. Can I be put me on the list?
Have you contacted all the sellers below .15 in the order book. It seems there're plenty of MSCs at 0.14 for you there.
I contacted every guy below .145 and no answers Sad
Often times, the list includes prices which aren't available in reality.  Gotta keep going up the list.  The true price at any time is often higher than what the order book indicates.  It is an inefficient market.  Max does a great job, but it is not perfect.  The only orders which are guaranteed are those in green highlight.  You can accept those orders without contacting the seller.  The MSC is already on deposit in escrow.  To claim those, just send the bitcoin.
1356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 16, 2013, 03:22:41 AM
Can you use Armory as well ?
For sure.  Just click 'add recipient' until you send to three addresses - each having .00006

Easy.  If you want to test it, you can send some to my address.

It will be especially interesting to see the User Interface develop -- in time I am sure it will
When it does, everything will be behind the interface.  All you'll need to do is say: "send 5 MSC to Jim" and the rest will be done in the background and you'll never see .00006 again.  Be patient.  We are all very early adopters.  MSC still have 18 months to become for real.  Now, it is just a bunch of very hard work.  Buy Zathras a pizza and send it to his house so he can keep working hard.  That is about all you can do for now.

Maybe, but we also need to keep the PR momentum of Mastercoin going, and having it on an exchange will be a good way to go about this.
The "PR momentum" (aka 'pumping') is only useful for speculators.  'Pumping' mastercoin with good press is just plain dumb.  The only thing Mastercoin needs is - to work.  We've got to get it to work.  Then, we've got to get it to work well.  As soon as that happens, the reputation will come like white on rice.  We don't need to pump up the reputation with PR before it works.  Let's get the damn thing working and quit working on pumping up the reputation.  Well, unless you are a speculator looking for a quick profit.  Then, pump away!!!

I am not sure this is correct Bitoy.  What about this address: 12BjxEGAGcLnpXVbJHp4L5FNKh1YNweRn7  ?

The way I see it is:
For this address: 12BjxEGAGcLnpXVbJHp4L5FNKh1YNweRn7 we have:
Masterchest = 237
Explorer = 0
MyMaster = No Transactions

Can you please confirm?

Yep - this is due to the fact that this transaction is valid in Masterchest - but not valid in Mastercoin Explorer

1360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] What is the best policy for Mastercoin data feed update frequency? on: December 14, 2013, 07:51:29 PM
I'm watching this closely, because the route you take will determine how fast you get hard-forked to irrelevance. This ought to be illuminating. Also, nice one about not wanting to "inconvenience" your disastercoin users, (to the detriment of everyone else) because hey, you're already hooking in to the Bitcoin hashing power, why limit your blockchain resource usage?

Just speaks volumes to what the priorities are here.

< Cue rationalizations about why disastercoin is doing the "right thing".... >

How will the update frequency cause a hard fork?

Or is it that you missed the Mastercoin train and you a slinging mud around because you can't now participate?
