One of the early finales I was thinking about happened in this round already: Manchester City - Bayern Munich.

Manchester City are a bigger favourite for the title first of all. This is like a golden opportunity for both of these teams to eliminate one of the biggest threats in the Champions League. Manchester City's previous job was really easy as they showed in the second leg especially. Bayern Munich had a much more difficult matchup maybe but PSG couldn't manage to play like in the way I imagined exactly. This just helped Germans play more comfortably. Guardiola wouldn't do the same mistake. I think this would be a close matchup but Manchester City would advance anyway.

Newcastle are still in a really good situation in the standings right now despite having a bad form for some time.

They are still only two points away from Tottenham and they have a huge advantage against Tottenham at the same time. Because they have two missing games to play later. This can carry them into the top four once again. It must be still like a dream for Newcastle to fight for the Champions League this season. Because they don't have a very qualified squad right now. They are technically an average team but this is an important level of success for them. The key point for them is to qualify for the Champions League from now on. Because this would ease their job about signing bigger names in the summer.

But Sevilla are really a big mess this season. I just can't believe they are under the danger of even relegation. They are trying to focus on the Europa League title at least to qualify for the Champions League group stage. But they need to be careful while doing so. They just can't give up on the La Liga easily. Otherwise it would be horrible to see them in the La Liga 2. I hope they win this tough match now.

Things can be really interesting after this goal scored by Leverkusen just now. They have scored a penalty and got 2-1 ahead in the match now.

The first half was really awkward. Bayern Munich had only one goal attempt in the whole half but still they managed to finish the half 1-0 ahead. In the second half Bayern Munich started to keep the match more balanced. But this time Leverkusen have made a really incredible comeback now. Their job won't be easy about keeping this advantage to the end truthfully. But if they do Dortmund will finish a week as the leader for the first time after a long time I assume. This will be very important for Dortmund on the road to the title.

Atalanta had better take things more seriously in the league now. Because their poor form in the recent times has helped Juventus catch up with them a lot in the standings.

They are hosting Empoli this week as you know. This is a must-win match for them in my opinion while Juventus are playing a very challenging match away against Inter. I can understand the ones against Napoli and Milan but the other two could have really been wins for Atalanta. They aren't a team that can't defeat teams like Udinese and Lecce normally.

Because the Champions League is like the only big tournament of which they haven't won the title so far. I'm pretty sure that Guardiola also is very eager to win this title before his job at Manchester City comes to an end in the future. He wouldn't like to leave this team before making them win the most important tournament in Europe also. They have what it takes for winning that title also actually. Haaland's arrival has made them much more stronger. I hope they can make it this season and Guardiola fulfills his goals.

Newcastle have added James Maddison into their transfer targets list also as it seems. This would be a really wise move for Newcastle truthfully.

Maddison is a very versatile player now despite mainly being an attacking midfielder. He would be an important addition to their squad. His statistics in this season has been really impressive at the same time despite Leicester's having a poor season. He has scored 9 goals and made 5 assists. He wouldn't like to stay at a team that are under the threat of relegating I assume. If they relegate from the Premier League then he would definitely leave. He is a skilled player and he is just wasting his time there. But I don't know if Newcastle would be the only team in line to sign him either.

I was hoping not to see a matchup between Italian teams in the quarter finals but there we are. But still there is a potential to see two Italian teams in the semi finals which is interesting.

Milan have a great history in the Champions League normally. But they don't play very good right now in fact. Of course Tottenham were a challenging opponent for them and they managed to eliminate them somehow. Tottenham just showed a much worse performance than I expected from them. I don't think Napoli would be like Tottenham. They are very competitive in the Champions League also just as they are in the Serie A. If Milan don't make any improvement in their game I don't expect them to get past Napoli.

Manchester City have to make the Champions League their priority as it is the only big tournament they couldn't win so far.

They have built an amazing squad with the aim of winning the Champions League title. But still their hands are empty as for the title. They have won the Premier League title many times so far therefore it wouldn't be meaningful for them to prioritize that title while there is the Champions League. If they were out of top 4 for example then they would have needed to make a change about their priorities. Their performance against Leipzig was really incredible. But this still doesn't prove anything until they face an opponent like Real Madrid.

Barcelona have already made a big gap with Real Madrid in the La Liga now. This has just pushed Real Madrid to care about the Champions League more than this league. The Basaksehir match was really a big joke. Basaksehir were even the favourite side to win this match. The first leg ended by 1-1 so there was an advantage for their side also.

But somehow Gent did an incredible job in this away match. Scoring 4 goals in only 7 minutes was really an unbelievable thing. I don't have any idea what was wrong with the Turkish team today. They were actually doing a really good job until reaching this stage. They lost their concentration so easily and gave up on the match easily. They played much better against more serious opponents actually. I would have expected them to eliminate Gent by getting a win in Istanbul.
