All of this is still just noise. Wake me up if price goes below $6,000.

It’s still nothing and could be part of building base for a jump upwards (see MACD cross on the Daily).

The 4hr looks scary, but one could also say that the 2hr has nicely cooled and turning around for the next push upwards.

That’s the trouble with directionless markets: you can basically see any pattern. It depends on your conviction.

The last time, this 4hr situation was met with a truncated price action neutralising the down wave before it could do harm. I hope traders are lazy and take that as comfort and dare to hold on, because a leg down from here could be considerable (testing 2018 lows again).

A home is a capital depreciating asset. Bitcoin isn’t.

Not in my experience. My home and properties have only appreciated in value. Maybe you bought in the wrong location?

Did it, or did the measurement stick devalue?

HODL vs Mean-Reversion strategies
150x difference in 6 years (even more now)

Does that mean short now or long?
1367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 16, 2018, 06:41:32 AM
It seems a few weak days are ahead, absorbing the medium wave down for now. $6,300-6,500. That should then form the basis for the move to $7,000 again.

Yup. Something's off  Shocked Huh

I become very comfortable when looking at the weekly and 3days charts. Assuming a move up out of the triangle of course. But why wouldn’t it (sellers suddenly willing to sell after 6 months of no-crash)?
1370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 14, 2018, 10:08:00 AM
You’re just describing the workings of a market. And the market - at least my screen - tells us that going below $6k is not really happening. The current short and mid term wave is pointing upwards again. Even although I feel lik we need a good spike down below $6,000 to move on.

My opinions don’t matter
The market is always right

The trend is your friend.

So I bend.

A little better, but still expensive

If the leading signal on the 4-hr MACD goes upwards through 0, I may take a gamble and buy. Slowly creeping upwards now.

i'll wait a few days more and buy me some ETH   Cheesy

MUST be going uphill, cant miss, an profit increase must be astonashing!

A wise trader at least waits for a second bottom before stepping in. But feel free to catch a fallin' knife.

I think the point is that in respect of ETH, traders/holders really have a reason to sell: ICO's are dead.

The main selling point of ETH: gone.

No Future (although it won't go to $0.00)

Should ICO's become a thing again, higher powered chains may take over (EOS, Telos, Tron, whatever).

For now, alts that have their main trading pair in ETH have suffered immensely as well. But I can see alts decoupling from ETH (i.e., ETH going deeper down while ERC20 tokens stabilise in USD price; the world turned upside down  Shocked ).

The narrative of Bitcoin still stands: Digital Gold (I am still doubting whether LN is viable to support the 'payment system' narrative).

But there is a danger that the outflow out of ETH and other alts into Bitcoin may dry up. When we reach that point, will there be enough 'native' demand for Bitcoin to avoid a true bear market (like, going convincingly below 200 MA on the daily, just like the other bear markets)?

The times they are a-changin'

ETH is still leading the loss-pack. The pain is increasing.
1376  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: September 11, 2018, 04:51:25 PM
Interesting.

Where would BTC price be when hitting that yellow band?

Why is this thread so dead? I thought EOS had a big community

The Hype is gone. It's the time of monkeys hammering code. A dull period in which the best things are devised. Just have patience.

Im starting to realize that crypto is just a giant ponzi scheme.  Wish I never invested in this bullshit, Lost so much money and now I have constant suicidal thoughts.  I should of listened to warren buffets advice.

Losing in crypto: you must have bought high and contemplate selling low.

Even if it is a giant Ponzi, better to sit tight and hope for another Ponzi bubble.
1379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 09, 2018, 06:45:13 PM

It's uncanny how well the ol' bubble cycle chart fits, isn't it?

We are not low enough... yet. There is no sign of depression ... at all. Look at the optimism here reigning. If the bull continues here, it would be a 2013 repeat.

Bitcoin is really boring. It doesn’t do anything.

Signs of desolation.... with an occasional big move up or down.
