MEC is live.
1362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LuckyCoin LKY | Lucky Blocks | Fast | Fun | Fair on: July 23, 2013, 04:58:26 AM
I'm not keen to get in another public argument in this thread, however, I will state for the record that the manner in which the question was brought to me in my pool thread and then in the ARG thread had as much to do with the answer ARG got as my own personal rationale for keeping ARG on Multipool.

Titan, if you want to PM me we can have a discussion about LKY's future on Multipool, however please understand that my position is that once a coin is public, and on exchanges, anyone should be free to mine it, including those who only want to mine when it is profitable to do so.

I will not reply in this thread again regarding this topic.
1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: July 23, 2013, 02:41:15 AM
We discussed making this type of pool in IRC even before multipool starting doing it. The big thing multipool is missing is the auto exchange feature you have implemented. From a technical perspective good work! I suppose you can take it even further and go strait to fiat.

Then he'd have to register with FINCEN Smiley  Probably not worth it.
1364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 22, 2013, 11:36:52 PM
Now that ANC is on cryptsy, I'll consider it, assuming it has a decent amount of buy order depth.

I haven't researched the coin, is there anything special about it or is it the same premined crap?

I think ANC is a good coin for the multipool, but I don't think it will be there long term because of the very long difficulty retarget period of 1680 blocks, which makes it perfect for multipool but it will not be a next Generation coin that everybody would use as BTC or LTC.

I would prefer MEC and CAP instead. (if there is a limit on how many coins can be added to multipool)

I agreed with you, Megacoin is very good coin, it stable and fast. Also it has a very high profit. May be no other coin is quiet good enough today (i mean from new altcoins for multipool). It seems to be the best candidate for adding in to multipool.

Megacoin will be on tonight or tomorrow.
1365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 22, 2013, 11:27:17 PM
I will be moving the EU pools to a different server tonight to address some of the reliability issues.  For now I am increasing the share difficulty to 64 to help lower the load a bit.

I'm not following you.  How would a 100 person company leverage OTC to pay their employees?

How would I leverage it to pay my mortgage?

Do you think I can collect enough cash doing 3 BTC sales in coffee shops to run an enterprise?

OTC carries more than half the total BTC trade. Always has. Just because you're a noob and consequently worth 0 to the system does not make the system worth zero, stop with the superficial self centered bs, it's ridiculous. The people that matter in BTC look with the exact same disdain at the so called "exchanges" - the only difference is that they have a point.

And that point is <random incoherent ad hominem attacks>, apparently.
1367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 22, 2013, 05:37:33 PM
anon just hit cryptsy today and it's holding the top profitability for quite some time now..
420% average profitability with 600+ MH network! Megacoin is aprox. 270% profitability and 400+ MH network.

AnonCoin is on fire! Network hash rate is now over 700 MH and most of that is all on one pool

Now that ANC is on cryptsy, I'll consider it, assuming it has a decent amount of buy order depth.

I haven't researched the coin, is there anything special about it or is it the same premined crap?

There are some NVC headed into the hot wallet now for withdraws, we've been exceedingly lucky tonight!
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 22, 2013, 04:01:55 AM
Hmm everytime the pool switches to NVC, my miners stop until the pool swaps to anything else. Anyone else seeing this?

I don't see any problems today on the US servers. I have a dedicated miner on NVC, a dedicated miner on PXC and the others are on MP.

Is CGMiner stopping when you switch to NVC?

There is a weird issue with stratum where it won't authenticate some people's usernames/passwords.

I thought I had tracked the bug down, and I patched all the pools but it appears that NVC had not been restarted after the patch.

I just restarted NVC, did the people who formerly couldn't connect start working?

Sadly,it seems that according to their own TOS they have the rights to close my account at any time without notice.

Can't see it being legal for them to keep your money though.

It's not.  They freeze your money for 60 days and then send you a check.

If this guy had 7 accounts though, odds are one or more of them were stolen/hacked.  So no, he won't be getting any money back./
1371  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: July 21, 2013, 04:09:13 PM
But people organize their cash flow via Bitcoin exchanges? Who is stupid?

How else do you propose those who buy goods or pay employees with fiat and sell the goods/services for BTC organize their cash flow?

We're not all teenagers living in our parents' house.  Some of us have mortgages and bills to pay to people who only accept fiat.

OTC. Learn it, love it.

Good luck man!  Multi-coin sites are going to be the way of the future, so I knew this would happen eventually.  I look forward to copying your good ideas as well! Smiley

Why is FTC still disabled? Is the network still unstable?
FTC is back on Cryptsy as well, and I haven't heard of any issues in the last days.

I don't think FTC is disabled. Look a page back in this thread. Decision on where to Mir now factors in orphans so I assume FTC is having enough orphans to make pxc more profitable. That what ha Ben happening last couple days. I think it's just not reflected in the profitability ranking on top right of multipool page.

I don't think that's it. WeMineFTC didn't have a single orphan among their last 50 blocks; Give-Me-FTC didn't have one among their last 100.

FTC was disabled, and considered mine at your own risk.  It seems the attacks have subsided so I will re-enable it.

Flound, correct me if I'm wrong but I think there is a big issue with multiport which I am mining on but reconsidering):

We just switched to LTC mining.  Well it says there is an expected block every 18 hours.  But we will most likely not be on LTC for 18 hours, so we won't find a block, so it will be wasted time/hash.  Right?

In any case, if I wanted to do the "big coins" I'd mine in those pools, I think we should stick with the little coins, where we can find blocks fairly reliably/quickly, and add some new ones like posters above have said.  Thanks for your effort!

I'd have to agree with this, adding some of the good prospects like Mega, Bottlecaps, and disabling coins like LTC that will have long block times would seem like a good strategy.

The goal of Multipool is to be nimble, right, to be able to quickly switch to the most profitable coins when the circumstances are right? Coins with longer block times seem like they'll result in wasted effort. That said, I don't know how difficult it is, or how feasible it is, to keep adding more and more altcoins to the pool.

Any other thoughts on this?

I have at least 4 more coins in the pipeline (MEC, BOT, FRK, PPC) as well as the SHA-256 multiport, but I need to focus on stability first.  Right now I'm focused on bug fixing, getting the EU server working at max efficiency, and getting features in that will make the profitability calculations more transparent, so that we can be sure we're really doing the most profitable thing.
1376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 20, 2013, 04:39:28 PM
What's going on right now?
My hashrates on the website dropped to 0 but my miners are still submitting shares.
Let's hope it's just a database issue again and no shares are lost Smiley

DB issue.  Shares are flooding in now.

Looks like cryptsy is down.  I'm looking at adding coins-e as a second exchange for the cryptsy-only coins, but the prices are way different so I'm not sure if that's a good idea at this point.
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: solo LTC mining settings help on: July 20, 2013, 08:09:31 AM

You're pretty much guaranteed one in the next few days anyways.

Did I ever say 100% chance?

All I said is that the odds are massively in his favor now that he has been mining for 13+ days.

I know the chances of finding a block are each statistically independent; I'm not falling for the gamblers fallacy.

What you are saying is exactly the gambler's fallacy.

What's with multiport reporting 1.45 profitability over last 24?

Hmm, this is interesting.  Looks like there's a bug inserting negative profitability values into the db.

In reality it's that one ARG row with the -1497 that's killing it.  Since the negative ARG values in the other rows wouldn't be use since we weren't mining it at the time.  I set all the negative values to zero so it should be closer to accurate now.

I can't seem to withdraw any LTC? Other coins withdrew just fine.

No errors or any other messages.

Hot wallet was close to empty.  You should be able to withdraw shortly.
1380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: solo LTC mining settings help on: July 20, 2013, 03:53:07 AM
Lookin to see if anyone knows the best solo LTC settings, ive been solo'ing for 13 days, and no block, got close yesterday with 52.9M/~59M diff, but no block.
i have 24 active connections, 6.5Mhash, scantime: 10 Queue:1 expiry:120.
I am gonna go a few more days, but with this kind of luck, I will surely be moving back to pool asap. Sad

Not worth it.  Use a pool.
