Vardiff seems to be active still on the US server....difficulty jumped to 15xx and then stopped responding.  Presumably because I wasnt solving any blocks at that level but it escalated very quickly from 128 to 336 to 15xx in a 3 lines of polling.  Switched back to eu...no issues there.

I'm on us and my current difficulty is 290 so probably it's still active

1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TRC] TRC network at 735.1 GH on: April 15, 2013, 03:33:24 PM
I think it's being manipulated by some people with high resources, be careful about buying/selling until we find out what is going on.
1364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPLNS] - ltc.kattare.com - burnside's Litecoin Mining Pool on: April 15, 2013, 03:31:15 PM
I had to jump ships after my first 12hrs with kattare, was getting 30-40% stales, on the other pool it's 1%< so it's not a problem with the cgminer config like I read in some posts above.

I hope this pool is fixed soon, I don't like the main pools like coinotron because they are absolute rip-off and the only other one that I like ltc.kattare.com sucks because I get like 36% stale.

Same problem... $0.00x with 3200kh/s. Moved to ltcmine.ru until fixed... Sad

I'm out as well, mining on coinotron and I'll check back in 10 hours

Is something wrong?
web page doesn't update the data.
And the difficulty is still 293?
other pools display 323 now.

Yea the page is not updating but my guiminer still reports shares being accepted (last one 10 seconds ago). Hopefuly they are working on it and it will be fixed soon because I won't be able to check my mining rig until tomorrow morning.
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your khash/s? (Pissing contest here) LTC on: April 15, 2013, 03:15:55 AM
I think OP is underestimating the power consumption.

I have a rig with a HD 7950 doing 561kh/s (i5 cpu but it's idle most of the time) and my Kill-A-Watt shows 398W-402W

Are the blocks crediting correctly atm?  On this last block with 2400 hashes, 2200 WU I was only credited .0075 LTC which is way lower than normal.

I have the same question, on block 334571 I was credited about 10% of what I was expecting I received 0.0073 while I normaly get 0.07 - 0.085

On the block 334612 only 0.00335294 LTC

And the last block 334634 is still not confirmed but the estimated payment is 0.00281217

Please check it admin, this pool is great so far.

LOL why would they take bitcoins if bribes are always paid in cash.
1372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Bitcoins on: April 15, 2013, 02:40:17 AM
With these newfangled mining chips coming out, I dunno if I even want to get into mining. I think I'm making more a day by daytrading anyway.

For some of us mining is the only way to get into trading, it's incredibly difficult to get your dollars into trading markets like BTC or mtgox
1373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining: Where's the catch? on: April 15, 2013, 02:05:49 AM
You are getting "paid" for your computing resources and the electricity, also it's a gamble... coins can be worthless like any other fiat currency if somethings goes really wrong.
1374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does the mining reward halve periodically, rather than decreasing smoothly? on: April 15, 2013, 02:03:55 AM
^It makes them more rare. It raises the value of the BTC that already exist. If there were no rarity to Bitcoins, and we just kept "printing money," bitcoins would be like the US Dollar. They have to become harder to get, so their value goes up. People see that as a potential investment, and buy bitcoins.

Yea pretty much this
