I remember my first attempt to enter the casino. I was underage that time, but I had a fake ID made since there was a show I was going to watch which would be held at the theater inside the casino. I was young and I was an honest person so when I was asked when my birthday was while checking the year that was indicated in my fake ID, I stuttered and can't do the math well so I lost my opportunity to enter. The guard just told me to not push through and come back when I am right of age. Years after when I finally am legal to enter, they seem to always stop my entry still. It can be flattering of course, but there are times that I always forget my license so I still don't get to enter despite telling the truth. Lesson learned: always bring an ID wherever you go!

It's commendable how Coincheck did not leave their users hanging at this very tough time. We all know that they are obligated to repay what has been lost, but for them not to close down and face all these charges all at the same time is can be very challenging; yet they chose to face it with hope and positivity. I wish their company the best of luck in fixing this obstacle and I hope all those who are affected would be patient and understanding of the situation.

One thing you should always put into mind is that if you engage with Bitcoin, you are also somehow engaging with uncertainty. Despite the available data and other resources to study the movement of Bitcoin, it can still be quite challenging to study its movement as it's hard to distinguish the correlation of it's volatility with its other aspects. It's movement is also influenced by many factors that some of us may never know what it may be but it can greatly affect its growth. Stock is truly different from Bitcoin and at the end of the day, it's the risk you're willing to take to invest in both aspects.

I know this might have been asked several times, but how can this be prevented? Knowing how important the merits would be when ranking up, people might be encouraged to abuse sending merits through their other accounts or even make alt accounts just to get merits. It would be hard to keep track of this since you have to dig deep to prove that what they're doing is breaking forum rules. At the moment it's simple to check the top-merited users of all-time, or the recent top-merited users using these tools theymos provided. There aren't many accounts sent high amounts of merit yet. Thank you for this vanobe! I know that I should have done my part and studied the new system accordingly in order to grasp its idea fully but some of the aspects can still be confusing for me. Again, thank you for your help. Now it's easier to keep track of the circulation of merits.

Welcome to the world of cryptocurrency. I hope that before you finally decide on taking the step, you are aware of the possible consequences that you might face in this venture. It will take a lot of your patience but it will all be worth it as Bitcoins is flexible and highly profitable. With regards to the wallet that would suit your needs, I highly suggest you to use something that has a trading platform at the same time can show you the rates of Bitcoins at real time. You have to do some research as there are many trusted wallets that can be used based on where you belong. I use coins.ph since I am from the Philippines and I find it very efficient as I don't have to deal with transaction fees when transferring (from the same app), and I can buy through payment in different outlets. I am unsure of where it bases it's rate though, but most of the time it is close to what preev shows. I also went to a lot of verification processes which gave me assurance that this wallet is secure. Remember, you have to make sure that the wallet you choose is trustworthy, so aside from the safety features of the app, you have a responsibility to secure your wallet. Good luck on your endeavors and I wish you success.

In the short amount of time that I have been investing in Bitcoin, one thing that is truly prevalent is that Bitcoin can break boundaries which goes to show that nothing is impossible with this cryptocurrency. However, due to the recent issues with the government and other complications such as transaction fees, altcoins gaining reputation, and the density of its volatility, the demand for it has been less compared to what it reached before that affected its growth over time. Don't get me wrong, Bitcoin is still popular and very flexible but with the current issues that makes it not promote efficiency, it's growth is greatly affected for some are pulling out their interest on it. There is a possibility that Bitcoin can drop to $5,000 and this can be saddening but knowing how Bitcoin is, it will recover and reach a greater peak. Bitcoin always comes through.

Just goes to show that our resources are extremely finite and that maybe catering to the needs of others is highly prioritized more than that of mining as it can really consume a greater amount of energy that can be used for other purposes. Though mining is also important for the economical stature of a person as it can generate and retrieve Bitcoins, proper allocation of energy should be observed as many people are also dependent on it. Hopefully, this will be resolved and that we would be able to find other means to gain energy to cater to the needs of everyone.

I hope you genuinely understand what the merit system is for and why it is being implemented. We are all having a hard time coping with it as some are just simply abusive and feels that this is a huge step for them while most of us would feel unnoticed despite posting constructively. The best thing you can do is to educate yourself towards Bitcoin and share what you've learned by posting cohesively and constructively. I've noticed that people who deserves the merit the most are those that has something new, interesting, and informative to say. Try incorporating these aspects to your post so that merit holders would see you as someone who is deserving. It is going to be tough journey, but it will all be worth it once you finally get some merits and rank up. Good luck to you and to all of us.

I do understand how you feel and how it can be frustrating to gain those merits, but after seeing many users improve and be rewarded, I had hopes that no matter how hard it would be, people would sooner or later recognize you if you truly give an effort in posting. I hope that someday you and the others who are having a hard time accepting the merit system would try to see the good in it and try to adapt so that we can all move forward and be better members of this forum.

We all are in the adjustment period towards the new merit system. Maybe a lot are still confused with how it goes, but the thing we have to understand the most is that this system encourages all of us to be constructive and helpful to the other members of this forum and not just post anything that is not of value (which I noticed most people are doing for the sake of earning). Maybe they hate the new system because it will hinder them from getting accepted in signature campaigns or achieving a higher rank for a bigger pay. Another possible reason is that maybe some users have been doing their part in this forum, being good members ever since they joined, posting constructively but still remains unrecognized due to their low rank. I hope that with the new system, everybody will give their effort on posting so that we all can be truly deserving of our merits or pays. Let's all remember that nothing worth having comes easy.

OP is a level racist HAHA. Full members and up also need merits but, as what you have said your competition your rules. As what I have expected before entering into this thread that there will be complains about it, and wish come true. It is also a challenge for us full members to achieve enough merits, by doing constructive and quality post. But, Dev knows the best (thanks to admin theymos).
O.P. to the next level.
Bud let's work on getting some of the lower members up 1st. If enough senior guys get involved we can do higher levels I don't understand why they're referring to you as someone who is "racist" when all you just want to do is to help those who are unappreciated due to their rank. Just because he is requiring English posts, that doesn't automatically make him a racist. He is just being practical as most of the threads here are in English and in order for you to be hired in a signature campaign, it is important that you can write cohesively in English as most of the local boards don't count in the requirements of a campaign. I appreciate your kindness and how you thought of encouraging the lower ranking members that they have a chance in this forum. Thank you for noticing their efforts and for giving them a chance to prove that they can earn merits, TMAN. Let's all help one another here, especially those who needs it the most as we all had hardships in achieving our ranks.

Hello guys i saw some newbie has a merit points haha.what do you think?they buy it or not?because anyone who had merit points can be transfer to other people or sell them to other people.
The only unfair thing about merits in m opinion is making it a requiremnt to ranking up, there are plenty of poeple who are constanly posting some productive posts and people don't give them merit, so they don't rank up as fast as others, while people with multiple accounts who are always spamming the forum could abuse this system and get into campaigns and rank up before those who actually stick to the rules. What Shenzou said is on point and I totally agree. Some of the people here have been posting constructively ever since they joined but they go unnoticed since they are unpopular. A lot does not receive the recognition they deserve and I hope the merit system changes that. Also, I do understand that this will encourage people to construct valuable posts. However, it would be hard for the new members because they are not yet considered as credible due to the fact they are new. I hope they get a chance to prove themselves and have a chance to gain merits so that they could move forward in this forum.

Great advice Theb! I really think that the only disadvantage of the current merit system is that it doesn't favor the lower ranking members since the chances of getting merit points for them are low due to the fact that people might think their post are not of value just because they are new and inexperienced in this forum. I really hope that your message will encourage those who holds great amount of merits to give chances to each and every user here, no matter of what rank, and not favor those who they know or consider friends. Thank you as well for posting threads where people can get a chance to receive merits. Your message does not only encourage those who gives out the merits but also for the new members to write posts worthy of merits so that they are deserving. Kudos to you Theb!

It's really hard these days to comment on any more of these predictions. Usually people just blurt out what they want even without considering the consequence of what they are saying (look at McAfee). The problem next stems to people just hearing what they want to say, and thus they post, share, like or whatever the statement and this causes a media frenzy on people who also like what they hear. In the end, these kinds of news comes out. Not because they are well written news but more of just because people are hyping up something.
How can I say this? Just look at this news for example. Who the hell is "Kambiz Djafari" anyway? Who gave him the right or what did he do to have the power to predict bitcoin prices? Just ask yourselves that.
I couldn't agree more with LuanX3. With Bitcoin evolving over time, there's no wonder that the growth of it's value would continue to grow as people would demand for something innovative and progressive to gain profits. However, the movement of Bitcoin can be so unpredictable. With speculations like this, it can be unrealistic as many people claim that they know the trends and all when in fact, even genuine experts can be wrong. Mmaybe these people would just want to spread hope at this time where the market has been on the low edge but let's all be realistic here, Bitcoin is uncertain. Only the present situations can dictate it's true value.

So I think this merit mechanism is unfair, because it would allow those legendary or heroic users to profit from the merit mechanisms, and not to upgrade those who can not afford it.
I'm definitely coming from the opposite perspective here, as being here on these forums for a while and finally reaching a high ranking. However, I don't think this system is particularly unfair. Those who have merit will not be selling it; hero and legendary members at this point in time know better than to sell their merit. Even if it is being sold, it ends up being pretty obvious because all you need to do is look at the suspects posts and who merited them. There's nothing about affording here; merit is not a form of money. It's (I guess) just another way of protecting the forum from spammers who are just trying to get into sig campaigns. I agree with player514. He has been in this forum longer than I have and based on what I've observed for the past months that I've been part of this forum, a lot of people here would just post for the sake of reaching their quota for a signature campaign. People would just write anything to reach the limit they are required of. I am pretty sure the high ranking members in this forum are well aware and knows better when it comes to constructive posting. So I guess you just can't simply fool them into giving you a merit just because they have the power to do so. I know they will give it to those who are deserving because I feel that they have also experienced different hardships in reaching their rank. As per the newbie who got the merit points, maybe he does truly deserve it for he posted something constructive, cohesive, and helpful to this forum. If he is not truly deserving of it, then there may be a lot of possibilities on why he got one. If he gained it through illegal means, I'm pretty sure he will get a punishment for it sooner or later but right now what really matters is that we take this situation as an opportunity for all of us to learn and truly be helpful in this forum by being constructive.

I agree with how this system favors more of those who are of high rank and how it can affect the growth of those who just joined in. The thing is we have to understand that people has been abusive in this forum and for people to learn, this system has to be implemented. I do agree though how some of the features of the new merit system can be a disadvantage to some but let's take this as an opportunity to learn and be constructive for the betterment of this forum.

Well, the beggars can go to public libraries with internet access and start begging online to earn some pennies... I don't believe all paper money will be changed to Crypto-Currency, people don't live in a virtual world, in a material world we need material stuf and paper money is part of it. Surely it can decrease a lot in amount, but not disappear completely. Step by step paper money loses its influence and the internet/informatic reaches in more and more places, it's a gradual transformation. I agree with mrcash02. We have to remember that for Bitcoin to be formally established, its accessibility should cover each and everyone of us, may it be the lowerclass or the upperclass. I believe this is one of the challenges in Bitcoin adaptation because each and every aspect would be reflected in the cyber world which is why I really think that cryptocurrency and fiat should co-exist for a better functioning system that can cater to all.

100 years is too much! I don't even know if crypto is still valuable after that time, but I think HODL is the best strategy here. Sometimes it can be frustrating to see the value of your money go down from time to time. So I guess if you want to see something positive, keep it and HODL then if the market is in a better place and has abundance of greens then that's when you view it and maybe consider selling it. Holding would need a lot of patience but I think it would be worth it since your money can multiply exponentially over a great period of time.

May I just ask what this thread is trying to imply? I don't mean anything offensive, but is there something wrong if the Bitcoin community is composed mostly of men? If there's less women here, that doesn't automatically mean that they are less inclined to technicality or complexity or they don't have enough patience to invest in such ventures. Does gender even matter in this context or in the field of Bitcoin?
