141  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Large bitcoin mining farm mining 4 blocks a day having made 1600BTC on: June 07, 2013, 08:43:23 AM
probably is Asciminer
ASICminer has publically known addresses and pays out dividends whereas this farm is keeping them all at one address. It's almost definitely AN ASIC setup since the alternatives would be ridiculous at this sort of speed but unless they are going against what they said they'd do and share the profits of each part of the company then it's not them.

This makes me angry..
Why angry? Do you feel it is a threat to bitcoin?

Hi. Sorry for posting this again here but I think it fits under bitcoin discussion and under mining speculation. Maybe with a few more views someone will have an idea of what's going on. Feel free to delete this if you feel it is inappropriate to have posted it twice.

Anyway! I just wondered if anyone had noticed that a lot of the blocks that are relayed through various ip address nodes are actually being mined by the same user:

1BxD2VLE95n7ZeVJSy3uoiJ5WdR72jWj5f

If you have a look they have a lot of bitcoins already and are generating around 4 blocks a day.

Anyone have any idea who this is? More ASIC developers but this time they are keeping them all for themselves?

Quite scary that one person or group has this much power and they are possibly not even on the radar like ASICminer.

Blabla online wallets blabla more secure blabla

Lulz
I don't know what other peoples feelings are but with 2fa, secure passwords and codes with onscreen keyboards used to stop any transactions occurring without my knowledge, I trust blockchain.info far more than my own ability to secure a computer. Also all of the other security features that exist too like disable tor access. It is great!

So I agree! Blabla desktop wallets blabla more secure blabla

I'd be happy to make another purchase with you. If you're wanting it more to test out your site though I might leave it for someone else to buy since I've already bought some. I'll be on again tonight at some point if you fancy selling to me again.
149  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: June 01, 2013, 06:40:09 PM
Hi,

Try this (save it locally, it's open source): http://gauth.apps.gbraad.nl/

Or try this and put it on your USB stick: https://github.com/mclamp/JAuth

The login page has also being updated, registering and logging in are on separate pages (this was a common complaint for certain password managers).
Thanks. I've put some coins in my wallet and feel it is nice and secure. The interest rate seems pretty good. I'm not sure how viable it is and wonder how many people are taking out loans and how much you're making from it but you seem like a trust worthy person so hopefully it pays off. Saves it sitting around doing nothing too. Might put some more in if it all goes well.

Thanks for that useful app too. I've updated some other sites with 2FA now.

If escrow is offered, then I don't see a problem. Maybe contact John.

Tried to go this route but she stopped contact after it was time for escrow.
Me too. I think she is trying and failing to scam someone. I also thing she is a he.

I've thought about investing for a while but never got round to it. I'm always worried about moving my coins around since the bigger their footprint with passwords and addresses and loging in to places the more chance of theft.

Anyway I was logging in today and maybe you know already but if you type your username and password in and then hit enter rather than clicking log-in it doesn't show the captcha, just says that captcha was wrong. This is under firefox 20 in linux.

I don't know if it actually counts as 2 factor authentication, but blockchain.info has authentication working so that it lets you type a code in using an onscreen keyboard to confirm any transactions. Would you ever consider using something like that as well as or along side google 2fa. It's just I don't have access to it for a variety of reasons that I wont go in to and don't feel like putting a lot of bitcoins in an account just secured by 1 password. I'm sure you'll say, just get a compatible phone or find a way to use it if you're that keen but it's worth a shot asking!

Hadn't seen them til you mentioned that. I don't think they're too bad. and you get 500 for 1.5 BTC, soo..
Maybe we can do a group of 5 buyers, 100 of the things each?
I suppose 100 seems to be the theme! I could buy 100. So one more person that's interested and we've got enough to buy.
154  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer Accusations Database (Searchable DB) on: May 31, 2013, 05:58:14 AM
I'd be embarrassed by how few fields I'd be filling in! I think it'd only really work if it was incorporated within the site. Going to another site involves reading stickies which people who get scammed haven't done or don't take it in!
155  Economy / Goods / Re: [SMALL] Group Buy for new Casascius Product? on: May 31, 2013, 05:52:40 AM
I can ship from US anywhere in the world for about $5..unless these things weigh a ton...not likely because they are aluminum
That'd be good. I'd not really be willing to pay much more than that since it'd just be for novelty value. They don't actually look that good in my opinion. Looks a bit like ones that were made by a very cheap manufacturer. Nothing near the quality of his others.

If you find some others willing to contribute send me a message and I'll send you the coins for my share.

Thanks.
156  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A Tx that input amount is less than output amount, bug or something? on: May 31, 2013, 05:45:25 AM
These are newly generated coins by a miner. The extra 6BTC are from fees paid by people sending transactions. It's just in a confusing layout. Try looking up the transaction on blockchain.info or looking at the block they were generated in to see that the fees add to the extra amount.
157  Economy / Goods / Re: [SMALL] Group Buy for new Casascius Product? on: May 30, 2013, 11:48:47 AM
I'd take 50 but I don't know where you are located. Shipping could be problematic. I'm UK based.
158  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | 1% House | Instant Betting on: May 29, 2013, 10:03:42 PM
This is a really enjoyable site! Is it not vulnerable to double spending though?

We have several systems in place to prevent double spends  Smiley.
But if I were to put a transaction of 0.3BTC from an address with only 0.35BTC in it and then gambled them away and lost them I could surely send them to myself with a high transaction fee to try and get that confirmed instead of the transaction to you provided the transaction to the PrimeDice wallet hadn't been confirmed once I'd lost my coins. Then I could try again and might have better luck next time.

Hopefully this isn't a problem because I love the way you can send it and they are in your account right away to start rolling! So much better than SD since you have to wait for the blocks to be confirmed.

Great site! Keep up the hard work and I'll keep squandering my money! It's all good fun though.
