Everything worked out in the end.

When I moved the eth on the forked chain to a new address it also moved the etc to that address.

I used the split dao and moved etc to polo and eth to new eth address.

Then sold all eth and converted into etc. Moved the lot in etc cold wallet  Grin
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How high will ETC go?? on: August 02, 2016, 02:47:31 PM
I concur, Parity will happen for sure, just a matter of when, what do you think happens when ETH goes POS, all those GPU miners will come straight into ETC, the difficulty bomb can be forked on ETC and POW can continue.

ETC has taken over for the last few days on Poloniex trollbox and on here there are tons of threads pretty much identical to this very one, they will meet somewhere ETC & ETH around the 0.01 mark methinks.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3641694 ETC has moved from the DAO on: August 02, 2016, 01:23:21 PM
And who exactly is going to fork etc chain ? It's fully decentralised like bitcoin is. Those etc he has are his and no one can take them from him.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How high will ETC go?? on: August 02, 2016, 12:55:14 PM
a good re-entry I think would be around .00420- .00430
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3641694 ETC has moved from the DAO on: August 02, 2016, 12:48:38 PM
the strange thing is, that this address also has 38000 ethereum on the forked chain.

why would someone move over 3million etc to an address that has 38000 eth also on the forked chain.

wouldnt this make the funds on both chains open to replay?
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How high will ETC go?? on: August 02, 2016, 12:46:44 PM
I think there is something bigger happening with ETC, the volume is just far to big to be a pump and dump.

I think we are heading towards parity, or at the very least I think .007-.009 is where etc will level off and become stable before more leg ups.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Conspiracy on: August 02, 2016, 02:31:09 AM
Here's another thing to think about.

There is alot of projects goin on in the background that the public dont know about.

What if the banks or some other big company was developing something on ethereum and when the hard fork happened they seen it as a point of weakness and decided to start buying up massive amounts of etc, knowing that this would attract miners back and they can continue developing for the original ethereum block chain.

Things are getting very real with etc now.

Can the OP add bw pool to the pool list.

Chinese Bw pool is massive boost for classic

you are right,

REPLAY HAPPENED Sad

I am now in the process of trying to do a split contract on the new address.

will post update once done,
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what did I do wrong, lost etc classic on: July 26, 2016, 05:55:26 PM

thanks for reply.

Still syncing the classic chain, its bit slow. seperated the backups already  Cool main thing for me is that my ether is in the new address and safe on the official chain.

will post and let you guys know what happens once the chain is synced.

you are right I shouldnt just jump the gun on what the 3rd party block explorer says.

I am still baffled as to how the ethereum classic block explorer can be linked to the official one though.

yes i do,

so the ethereum classic block explorer even tho it say the address has 0 eth, it actually still does?

and if it is there, because I moved my ether out of the address to a new address on the officical chain, I am safe from replay attacks?

thanks for you help pal

I would re sync the classic chain using the original pre fork wallet, and see what it tells you rather than rely on a third party block explorer. Make sure to make separate backups of both the ETC and ETH wallets.

thank you very much, that is what I wanted to hear  Grin

thank you for the reply.

acording to etherscan, the ether in my new address is still there so that is a sigh of releif.

I am still downloading the pre-fork block chain, but in the mean time I was checking on the ethereum classic block explorer for the address, but it shows 0 etherem classic, and shows the transfer to the new address I made on the hf fork.

I dont understand how the ethereum classic block explorer can see the transactions from the official ethereum one,

Hi guys,

so I have a cold wallet pre hard fork with eth in it,

on the forked chain i made a new address and moved my eth from my origional address to it.

I then deleted the chain and synced the ethereum classic one, put my origional wallet back in,

but there is no ethereum classic in it,

shouldnt I have both ethereum classic and ethereum,

I dont understand what i did wrong

anyone care to help

many thanks
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the DAO\Ethereum issue solved? on: June 22, 2016, 10:08:49 PM
hahaahhahahahahahah

DO you really think that all the exchanges will stay on the origional blockchain if eth is forked? you realize ethereum is still in development stages and the full version of ethereum is not out yet, each milestone of the ethereum releases are all hard forks, the final version of ethereum will be Serenity.

all the exchanges and development will go to where ever the Ethereum Dev team go,

if miners want to waste their time on the Origional blockchain there more than welcome, but it will be a waste of time. nothing will become of the Origional Ethereum network, no developers - no new development, and at that stage Vitaliks version of ethereum will be nearing full release Serenity.

I think it will be solved eventually.
But noone really cares anymore. Dao should be rewritten.

It will be solved when we forget about it. There will be no hard fork. Just have to let those 3.5 million go. Pretty sure the attacker is generous, and will only keep 1million. The rest will be charity to the miners who keep up the original blockchain we call eth.
If it forks, the new token will be called Deth, and we will go back to eth anyway.

If your sick of eth, and TheDao.

There's something going on. One the biggest icos raused apart from dao. Double that of lisk. And no big exchanges trading....
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 22, 2016, 04:03:25 PM
I don't understand why none of the big exchanges are not adding waves. Polo has every other coin on there.

Can we get clarification from waves devs what is the hold up ?

In a way this is the devs fault. Why not have postponed trading until there was confirmation from the big exchanges that they will add waves.

It was a suicide run just having 1 exchange trading
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 22, 2016, 03:57:04 PM
The problem is that the only exchange trading waves I'd yobit and bittrex. Until waves is added to big exchanges eg polo etc the price is going to keep dropping. There's no way I'd sell at a loss though. People who are are simply dumb.

Sasha and the team should be working with the big exchanges to get listed. If none of the big exchanges add waves it's going to be a complete failure
