I'm interested in all things solar. Sadly I do not live in a house or on land I can utilize.
I do support such projects however, and while I don't necessarily think that Solar is a great investment in terms of "making mining free", it is a good long term investment.
Hope some peeps take you up on it!

So a forum account that was registered 2 weeks ago has 5 batch 2 avalons for sale? Yikes.
Good luck to anyone who agrees to forego escrow on $10,000+.

you do not talk about the powersupply in your quote. IT's important and you need at least a 1000W high quality to be safe. 3 * 250W + 100W + margin Vendor said it was 870w @ wall plug People always overestimate power supply for some reason. I have 2x7970 and 1x7950 running on an 850W PSU (pulling ~880W from the wall). I thought BAMT didn't support 79xx cards though?

Someone update list, im confused
It isn't that confusing, this is not official but unofficially the list would look like so: User Shares Price Shares left chaxattack 15 1.30 85 tier 5 1.28 80 nathaniel 50 1.22 30 julz 4 1.22 26 nagnagnag2 5 1.20 21 fhh 20 1.20 1 diotime 5(1) 1.20 0 I guess julz 4 bid is a little confusing. Newer 1.2 bids knocked out by higher bids.

If the same had happened with you, for sure you would think the same way. whatever...
If the same thing happened to me, I would have remembered I was participating in an auction within a forum. A forum that contains users in all different timezones as well as a forum that does not have any precise auction time cutoffs. Forums were not intended to be used as an auctioning platform. If they had been intended for this use, the thread would automatically lock itself once the auction was closed. There would also be a mechanism to place a maximum bid that would increase your bid automatically once someone else bid. Since we don't have that ability here, there will always be the possibility for grey area. Personally, If I was the seller, I would have given it to you. Personally, If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't get mad about losing the auction. daaamn you got logicbombed! I'm a bit of a stickler for rules, but I don't think any malicious intent was there, OP seems decent enough. If he had waited like 3 hours or something I could see it being something to make a big fuss about.

well I didn't read any of this thread, simply asked for escrow, and got no response, but I guess it saved me from dealing with any back and forth. Too bad, I would have liked some cheap cards

Where do I get me some shares?
Check the auction thread. How many usb asics at 2btc does it take to get 1THs at $10k? ? Your question doesn't make sense. At 2btc for 300mhash it takes 3333 USB sticks (6666btc) for 1th, usd about 735,000. 10,000 usd would buy about 46 USB or 13800 gigahash

wish I'd given in to my desire to buy from BFL, simply so I could be reselling today. C'est la vie!

To be fair we haven't actually seen anyone say 35BTC. And clearly if such a person exists, they are doing it quietly on purpose (silly price).

So, you realized you overpaid it at first place? Better ever than never but it might be late 80btc way too high for me, but something to think about, new ASICMiner announcement, 2BTC / 300MHash is all they're offering. Would take 34 USB sticks (ugh) to get 10GH/sec, and cost you ~68BTC, and won't be ready til you organize a group buy of 300(!), shipped then re-shipped + 20-30 days I believe.
So while I wouldn't pay 80BTC for this, remember that it isn't that crazy for a quick hashing power boost.
That's irrelevant, price blades were going on that auction was joke, price AM is selling USB's is an utter joke. It is not irrelevant. I don't want to get into the semantics of what qualifies as relevant in someone elses auction thread, but your personal opinion of price-validity would more closely follow. I continue to watch asicminer sales with interest, though I've not myself found a price I am comfortable with. A shame really. I too wish the OP luck in finding a mutually beneficial deal.

I notice the ebay auction was cancelled, someone bought it, or you weren't getting the price you liked?

I'd seriously consider 103.

These are being auctioned as a lump? Or can people bid on individual parts?
How will escrow be settled? If done as a lump, each of these things will be delivered at a different time, will escrow clear at the time of all items being delivered, 1/3, 2/3?
For example, if Avalon makes its 10-week lead time promise, 10weeks from April 20whatever is about July 10th, I believe ragingazn's group buy did not place the order until May something, which would mean closer to July 30th. If BFL ever ships, the unit being at the far far end of the line is suggested to arrive mid to late August / September.
What conditions would be said to satisfy escrow then?

i am asking the mods to delete the topic (the whole thread) as I've decided to keep the SCs for myself. You can only become a miner once in your lifetime with such a powerful machines. Douches, thanks for spamming my thread and convincing me you should not get the SCs +1 Please delete this thread.

75BTC for a 5GH/sec miner ordered in October 2012 (how that's 1st batch I'll never know), vs 71BTC (top bid) for a 10GH/sec ASICMiner blade that was already delivered weeks ago. Color me amused.
I do believe sellers need to learn some professionalism, but that's personal, seems like some peoples asic fever will drive them to buy anything from anyone.

Though I can understand it, I still don't like sites that are registered within a day of putting up a store, registered for one year, and add whois blocking. If some people report back with positive experiences, I may throw some business your way; sorry to make you guys my guinea pig

Well update us when you do get them, I'm interested, but only when there's something there to be interested in of course

-> Switch to Litecoins with can't have Asics Why do people still believe this? If something can be done on a general purpose chip, it can be done on a application specific chip. Because it will be expensive. HELLA expensive. You need the fitting RAM on it. If a 7970 at 700kh/s needs around 1.5gb of GDDR5 ram, consider what amount you need to make a 5MH/s Scrypt miner. (The answer is around 64gb GDDR5 ram) People believe it because that's how it is. The "general purpose chip" is not doing the bulk of the computing, and requires a ton of RAM. If you think someone will make some sort of super-ram for scrypt mining, maybe you can share your thoughts on that, otherwise it's pretty clear ASICs hold little scrypt potential ATM
