THE BITCOIN HISTORY BOOK 2008-2024
Well, first I congratulate you for doing such great work that will support many Bitcoin users. I saw the book that you have uploaded on your X account and read some part of it and what I decided is that you did wonderful work not only by writing it too well but also thby e interior when I saw was very attractive and good looking which give an additional and handsome look to your book. Through this book, I think many people who only know about Bitcoin invention in 2009 and after that,  will know about the history of Bitcoin how the idea of Bitcoin comes, and how it is made. Hope this book will bring some revolution in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Lastly I again appreciate your work and hope to grab what you want as support

Thank you for your gracious praise. Me and my partner have had a short argument about money/finances after i got home from work. I am the type of person who works hard, but sometimes my motivation wanes if i try too hard.  I hope the community gets behind my efforts so a brilliant book can be released next year.

I look forward to hearing more praise and feedback.

OP, I appreciate your endless effort and zeal to write this book as I have read in your other thread when you started writing the book, and I am pleased that you are making progress on this project, because it shows how much you love bitcoin and you have also dedicate your time to teach people about bitcoin through your book.

I hope to see you complete the book on the right time that you said, and I hope that you will get more donations from forum members. I admire your passion on this.

It will be released next September 2024, unless I come down with something terrible.  I have learnt more about Bitcoin whilst putting the book together Cheesy

“The Past Milestones”, the index is just amazing and it’s making me read the book already. This is definitely going to be detailed book considering the index titles from domain registration to how it started with email communications, yeah that gives me good insight about this book and what is expected from it. I think we are going to have very nice book soon just because of one active and enthusiastic member.

I just wanna say, keep it up. I will contact you regarding donation after few days once I get my salaries rolled over by my employer. Being Bitcoin lover I would be more than happy to donate small share for your good work. All the very best mate. Hope to see your copy released real soon.  Smiley

Much appreciated so98nn.  Bitcoin is nothing without its community.

I have added wallet addresses for LTC, DOGE, ETH and XRP. I'm aware BTC fees are high at the moment. Please read parts of the book when you can.

Thank you to all those who have commented and donated so far. I am fully determined to complete the book by September 2024.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024 PROGRESS REPORT on: November 27, 2023, 02:27:23 PM
I got busy and fees were high for btc.  spoke with tyke via pm today

You could ask him via pm for an ltc addy I just sent to him via my coinbase account.

1ltc for nov and dec donations

for now I will be ending donations to members as my donation source (sig campaign) has suspended its payments to me due to high fees.

Hoping to resume in a month or so.

The community will certainly benefit from your efforts and I look forward to seeing its positive impact. I hope this book will be valuable  for years to come. Keep up the great work!

That is one of the major reasons why I would highly appreciate community members to support via donations.  On a personal note, I sacrifice offered extra hours at my job so I have extra time and energy to put the book together. I have loved Bitcoin (and the wider crypto space) for over 10 years.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024 PROGRESS REPORT on: November 26, 2023, 04:42:42 PM
I'm happy that there's someone from this community who is working on such a book. I like the cover and wish the author success.
I'm not a designer, so perhaps I'm very wrong on this point, but it feels a little overly bright to me. There's lots of bright orange, and then there's white text on orange background, black text on white, white text on black. Black text on different shades of gray etc.
I also think that, for a book like this, you should hire an academic editor (someone with great expertise on Bitcoin and its history) to proofread the text for potential mistakes, even if you're quite an expert on it yourself because it's important to get everything right, and a fresh pair of trained eyes could be very helpful with that.

There is nothing wrong with a bright book! Tongue It's impossible to please everyone.

The information in the book has been sourced from official sources.  I have diligently checked and cross referenced sources.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024 PROGRESS REPORT on: November 26, 2023, 04:39:42 PM

Is the book cover close to the final version or is there much more to work on before a final version is unveiled?  If you do not mind criticism.  Would you mind a more minimalistic approach to the cover design?  I believe that would be more attractive and trendy today.  They do say do not judge a book by its cover, but many of us pull books out of the shelves in a store BASED on the cover we see.

I will give the book cover more food for thought next year, because I am overwhelmed this side of the year.  I may let the community help with the cover via a competition, so thank you for the suggestion.

As I have reiterated before, I seek sponsors or donors to drive the book forward.  There is much more to do (yearly 2017-2024 chapters - 8 chapters) before release in September 2024.

THE BITCOIN HISTORY BOOK 2008-2024

For one year, I've been researching and writing about the full 2008-2024 Bitcoin history.

What a great performance, writing a book is not what is that easy not to talk of writing on bitcoin, this is a great achievement you have earned for yourself, it will be a guide in helping the newbies to understand the history of bitcoin and have time to study both online and for the benefit of those who love reading the hard cover books, they can have it archived in their homes for reference, this will indeed be an impressive discovery for those that wanted to learn about bitcoin and it's history but prefer going through a reading material for their learning, congratulations.

Thank you. I hope you read at least some of it, and then provide constructive feedback.
150  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024 PROGRESS REPORT on: November 25, 2023, 09:01:05 AM
Allow me to ask, why did you set the date 2008-2024 and not 2023?

Are you thinking about creating the book in digital format only, or also in paper format?

The book covers Bitcoin history from 18th August 2008 to 30th June 2024. It will be checked during the summer ready for self-publication in September 2024. The book will be available digitally, and in paperback/hardcover formats.

One of the reasons I do not reply to all questions or comments is I am mostly pressed for time. I do read all replies Cheesy

I will say congratulations on your project. When I see things of this nature that promotes the community I usually have his joy in me that people are really not just here for some pay or something else but to make remarkable things, just as I wish to do some day.

I haven't had enough time to read through your research compilation but will surely do, and I will also make a review of it if possible to help you find faults that needs to be fixed before publication.

A new development of this nature surely needs to be more appreciated but I believe it will come when your finally done with it.
Once again congratulations Tyke.

Thank you for pointing out that I am contributing greatly to Bitcoin. It would be encouraging to see more support in terms of donations, because it is taking countless hours, resources and energy to drive the book towards the finish line. If anyone in the community can help, please donate by first messaging me here. Your name will be included in the book.

On a personal note, there are times when I feel lethargic and fed up. Despite that, I keep finding the motivation to persist. Please support me if you can as I do my best to create something great.

I appreciate all praise from the Bitcoin community.

THE BITCOIN HISTORY BOOK 2008-2024

For one year, I've been researching and writing about the full 2008-2024 Bitcoin history.  I plan to self-publish a 300 A4 page book (colour interior) on Amazon by September 2024.  It will cover all major Bitcoin milestones from inception of the blockchain to the end of June 2024.  I've spent countless hours collating and presenting relevant history by writing 16 page yearly chapters. Below is a link showing a preview of what has already been put together:

(history chapters begin on page 44)

Please support: $BTC (CONTACT ME FOR BTC ADDRESS)

Besides the above, a preliminary front cover for the book as been designed:

If you like (or impressed by) the progress made so far, please comment below by leaving constructive feedback.  I've been part of the Bitcoin/crypto community for over 10 years.  Distributed ledger technology has never left my radar since I discovered Bitcoin back in March 2013.  The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024 will be my contribution to legacy, as well as newbie, members of the community.

Please contact me if you would like to support the book via donations, sponsorships or otherwise.  I will continue to strive towards completing the book by September 2024.

Thank you for reading (don't forget to click on the Google Drive link in order to read the current book interior).  It is a draft at the moment!

I will start by congratulating you on the success you have achieved in putting this material together. I know what it takes to work on things of this nature when it comes to academics or something that involves research, the compilation of different materials, and writing to achieve the goal of publishing a book. I must say that you have gone a long way in putting things together for the sake of the bitcoin community, especially the newbies to having a material of this nature. As you have said, this would be a very good legacy you have left here, and the community would forever be happy about what you have done. This book would serve as enlightenment material which would educate bitcoin enthusiasts more about bitcoin and its inception, the founders, and how they began the bitcoin journey into the world. It is remarkable that a book of this nature has finally emerged.
Congratulations once more.

Much appreciated Smiley

I have moments when I think how I've managed to put it together.  It won't cover everything related to Bitcoin, but I like to think the major milestones are included.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 'The Bitcoin History Book' in Progress (RELEASE: September 2024) on: November 24, 2023, 09:33:34 PM

For those who don't know me, I work as a warehouse operative (working class person). I don't aspire to succeed much as an employee, but rather strive to be creative as an individual person. The Bitcoin history book is what I devote significant amounts of time to, aiming to create something special for the community (completed book will be on Amazon in SEPTEMBER 2024!!!).  It is the main avenue through which I am exercising my intelligence and diligence.

I know most people in the community would rather hodl their crypto wealth, but isn't it wise to support community effort. All I seek is donations to aid my effort to create a detailed BTC history book. Please show generosity I once knew the community was renowned for in the early years. I look forward to your messages and feedback. I won't give up the task.

As promised, here is the PDF document showing chapters 2008/09 to 2016 (still have the summary pages to complete):

Happy to announce that 2017-2020 history chapters almost finished:

UPDATE: 18/04/2024

Great news!

I'm still making constructive progress.  Currently I'm completing chapter 2019, which I hope will be finished within the next week.

Please support the book if you can.  There is only myself who has spent over one year writing it.

P.S. If you donate at least US$10, you will have your name/alias listed in the book!

UPDATE 01/04/2024:

I will strive to finish the chapters for 2017 to 30th June 2024 (nearly 50% complete) by this summer.  Please show generosity and donate to help me complete the Bitcoin History 2008-2024 book by 12th September 2024:

UPDATE 07/02/2024:

I've completed history chapters covering 2008 to 2017 (pages 44 to 187 - 144 pages).

2017 Chapter:

I will complete 2018 and 2019 before the end of February 2024.

Who is still interested?

UPDATE 07/01/2024:

There is an opportunity for 10 people to have their own personal page in the book!

For 0.01 BTC, on a first come first serve basis, one person is allowed to purchase just one page.  I invite you to write about your journey with Bitcoin (your participation, best memories, successes, failures etc.). Feel free to include photos.

I have opened the book up for these 10 pages to gain community insights and experience.

If interested, please contact me. The price has been set relatively high to deter too many entries.

UPDATE 26/12/2023:

As a way to help me complete 'The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024' by September 2024, I seek community support.

If you you would like your full name (or alias) in the book (will be listed on page 6 onwards), please private message me your name and donate at least $5 (crypto equivalent) towards my efforts.  Donation addresses are in the OP. Thank you in advance.

P.S. With sufficient support, I am the type of person who knuckles down and is totally determined.  Please trust me!

UPDATE 04/12/2023:

First of all, thank you to all those who have commented on this thread including useful feedback.  It is motivating and helps me to assess progress.  I have nearly completed the first draft of 8 chapters covering 2008-2016 (see draft preview, some pages removed) immediately below.  The Bitcoin yearly history chapters begin on page 44 after introductory and other BTC related

To be honest, I am slightly baffled about the lack of generosity from the community.  Countless time and energy has been put into it so far, and I am determined to write draft pages for 2017-end June 2024 next year.  I'm far from a greedy person (live in a small terrace house with terrible heating and an abomination of a garden) who continuously loves to learn and work hard.  Moreover, I turn down overtime at work in favour of writing this book.  If you can, please donate:

This book is gold, thank you for your contribution to bitcoin!

I have completed chapters covering 2008-2016 (total 128 pages). Currently checking and editing those pages before i upload it here very soon.

Tyke,

Keep pushing, this book is pure genius and represents some of the most valuable information I have seen on the origins of bitcoin. Some of the early information is pure gold. The bit about "netcoin.org" is beyond interesting. Just imagine if Satoshi choose netcoin as the name of his network instead.

This is a manuscript that must be written and distributed accordingly.

Thank you for your interest and praise. I will continue to include valuable points in the book.

128 A4 pages cover Bitcoin history from inception to the end of 2016.  Segregated Witness code was introduced into the Bitcoin protocol on 27th October 2016 with the release of v0.13.1.

Who remembers Bitcoin in 2016?  Please say which milestones you think were key for Bitcoin in 2016 below.

An absolutely wonderful work. You deserve all thanks and appreciation for the great effort you put into this wonderful book.

I quickly browsed through the book to take a look. I found the book's format to be very good, rich with information and illustrative images in a way that provides a lot of interesting information without making the reader bored as a result of the book's long pages.

It is true that the history of Bitcoin is not far away, but it is full of major events that deserve to be documented, so it is not easy at all to compile this large amount of information accumulated during all those years.

I will try to read part of it whenever I have some time. I repeat my admiration for the book, and thank you.

Thank you for your appreciation.
