141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not exceed your targets on: April 25, 2023, 05:02:52 AM
That's code for "be disciplined with yourself" or "don't let your emotion take over" or "don't be greedy; that greed could screw you." It's a cliche, I know, but I believe it's worth the effort. You can't make a decent choice if you're plagued by uncertainty, and greed will lead you there. To survive and succeed, we need nothing more than a level head. Yes, I've been through this a lot and am still working on getting past it. My guiding principle is to "seize the day," which in the context of investing means "wait for the bull run, sell when it reaches ATH, and forget about it."
142  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About shit coins on: April 25, 2023, 04:55:18 AM
I suppose there are a number of ways to look at this problem. While not everyone will benefit from the increased volatility, shitcoins are generally accepted because they allow more individuals to ride the wave. It's possible that some people will benefit financially while others will suffer. In one sense, shitcoins make the market more exciting, but in another, they're just trashing it. This is the nature of the crypto market, where some participants may profit while others incur losses. Shitcoins are just the tools. Just like knives, it could help us to cook or slice our fingers.
143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To Trustwallet users. Vulnerability. Repayment. on: April 25, 2023, 04:43:28 AM
Hey guys! I just wanted to remind you all that security breaches are unfortunately all too common in the crypto world and can happen to anyone. Stay vigilant and make sure to take all necessary precautions to protect your assets. When it comes to keeping your crypto safe, you can never be too careful. That's why it is preferable to choose a secure wallet that is open-source, non-custodial and free from the internet (maybe hardware is the best one). But, talking about TrustWallet, I think it's good that they have backup plans in place. Trust Wallet is a non-custodial mobile wallet for cryptocurrencies that allows users to store their own private keys and has no access to users' funds. While Trust Wallet is not open source, it has an open-source component called "Wallet Core," which is used in the Trust Wallet Browser Extension.

Although it is not ideal to place our cash in an un-open-source wallet, if we have to, it is necessary to evaluate the company's reputation and history. One of the top cryptocurrency exchanges in the world with a long history of putting security and consumer protection first is the owner of Trust Wallet. Binance, in reality, has a dedicated team and resources committed to investigating and preventing fraud and security breaches. Binance's commitment to client protection and brand trust played a significant role in their response to the Trust Wallet security incident. It's reassuring to work with well-established organizations that have a solid reputation for security and client safety because they're more likely to have procedures in place to deal with unanticipated situations.
144  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you sell because of situations? on: April 24, 2023, 03:48:13 AM
I'm wondering, why isn't he considering reporting this to the police? Without a lack of empathy, I'm sorry, but it seems like a soap opera comes straight from the television. If it's necessary and he can't ask for others help, then why does it need thinking twice? He needs to save his child for life, which cannot be compared with money. Does he feel okay if something bad happens to his child after deciding to keep his bitcoin? Money can be searched, but lives can't.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH gas fees are a joke. on: April 24, 2023, 03:40:20 AM
You're right; it's really a joke. Even with many efforts to solve it, it really hasn't succeeded until now. What else could we do to handle this? Nothing else than checking the gas fee tracking tools like ethgasstation.info, for example. From time to time, the gas fee could change according to traffic. It's kind of troublesome, but at least we're able to know when the gas fee is cheaper than other times. I really, really hope Vitalik and his team can find the most effective way to overcome this issue in the near future.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: April 24, 2023, 03:30:57 AM
I think this volatility is expected since we've actually not entered the real bull season yet. So, there will be more ups and downs predictably until 2024–2025, according to the history cycle, due to bitcoin's halving. It is true that news will absolutely affect the price and the market condition. Those two pieces of news—the strengthening of the US market and good news from Hong Kong—were absolutely necessary to build our upcoming bull market. However, we also need to anticipate some bad news that could be coming anytime soon, like Mt. Gox, which will distribute the bitcoin payout due to their hacked incident in 2014. I hope it won't ruin our upcoming bull season.

148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What impact of digital currencies like bitcoin have on money creation on: April 21, 2023, 04:19:58 AM
I think that digital currencies could change how banks make money and how much money they have on hand. I can avoid banks altogether and do peer-to-peer deals with digital currencies, whether I'm an individual or a business. This is different from the usual way money is made, which is when banks give money and make new money. This means that the process of making money might become less organized and more spread out.

But the effect on a bank's ability to get money may not be as big. Even though digital currencies might make less people want to use standard banking services, banks can still adapt and use digital currencies as part of their business. Also, many central banks are looking into the chance of making their own digital currencies, which could make it easier for them to control the amount of money in the economy and keep things flowing.

149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Bitcoins vanished in one day when we woke up? on: April 21, 2023, 04:12:08 AM
Uhm I think it's super unlikely that all the Bitcoins would just disappear overnight. So basically, Bitcoin uses this thing called blockchain to keep everything safe and nobody can mess with it. Before anything gets added to the blockchain, a bunch of nodes and miners have to verifiy it. IMHO, it's like super hard for anyone to mess with or erase transactions because of this.
The double-spending prob is when digital cash is used and someone spends the same money twice. It's a real issue I think. But apparently, blockchain tech solves this prob by making a network that's decentralized where every transaction gets verified and recorded on a public ledger that everyone shares. So basically, it's super unlikely that all the Bitcoins would disappear because of the security stuff set up by the blockchain tech. Finger crossed.
150  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 21, 2023, 04:06:07 AM
Oh absolutely. I even experienced losing everything after waiting for too long. So, it's in 2018 when I hold a new altcoin token called REBL, where they kick off really well at the beginning. All the team members are doxxed, and they really look professional. They had a big airdrop back then, and everyone hyped it. Everything looked cool, and finally they reached their ATH at that time. Then, as naive as I am as a beginner, I thought with this kind of project, we could reach a higher ATH at that time. I decided to not sell it. At the time, I was unfamiliar with the pattern. I was so naive. Then, I hold it so long because they promise us great development and partnerships are coming. Just to be disappointed because they changed their project direction into an exchange project, which then failed because of a lack of funds in the middle of the journey. That exchange never occurred, and they cancelled the project, causing the price to plummet to zero. What a nightmare!
151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I earn only from cryptocurrencies? on: April 20, 2023, 03:41:39 AM
For now, crypto is my only source of income. I've been a hunter since 2017, although there have been some on and off until now. I used to get a great income from here, managed to build a decent house in 2018 thanks to NANO (Raiblocks), and got some chunks of money here and there. But I feel that hunting is kind of difficult now since more projects failed (either to launch or to pay rewards), and it's frustrating. Now, I'm waiting for the upcoming bull season to save money and planning to have my own business. I think I need a more stable and dependable source of income. I'll work online and offline; that's my plan.
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin to cash with simple steps. on: April 20, 2023, 03:31:46 AM
I believe number 2 was meant for beginners since it's the simplest and most popular for now. Together with the ease come the consequences. Because it's centralised, you need to do KYC, which makes you known to the third party. There's no secret that by doing KYC, it means our identity is accessible to them. Centralised exchanges usually have an obligation to comply with certain government regulations, which makes us consumers more exposed and means we also need to comply with taxation regulations. It's unavoidable. So, the rest of the ways I think are the most advanced ways to cash in bitcoin, although actually P2P was meant to be the essence of decentralisation as based on Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Did You Learn? on: April 19, 2023, 05:02:07 AM
For me, I learn by doing because I joined the crypto world for the first time as an airdropper and bounty hunter. So, I've jumped in since 2017 until now, and I have met so many kinds of projects since then. I learn about the projects by design because I won't make good content without learning about them, right? From time to time, I gain knowledge about which projects are good and which are not, whether a project is a scam or not, and so on. I think the motivation that I got from hunting was also affecting me indirectly in analyzing the projects. I should do it whether I want it or not, and then it makes me used to it.
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose out of greed. on: April 19, 2023, 04:56:00 AM
You're right; greed shouldn't make them jump in immediately without knowing what exactly that they jumped into is. Many beginners got attempted by evil people who were actually just trying to trap newbies so their bags could be sold. These evil people are offering something that's actually too good to be true, and something that's too good to be true sometimes isn't true at all. Don't believe that crypto could make you rich in one night, because it's not that easy anymore. People should be prepared, just like you've said, to lose some amount that they can afford, not that they can gain (some people even take out loans to invest, which is a big no-no). For beginners, bitcoin is a relatively safe area if you want to dip your foot in and test the water. Investing in Altcoin is another level of skill in investing; do it in steps to avoid a big loss.

156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet security, a good choice of wallet is very important on: April 18, 2023, 04:14:16 AM
Well, that's a good effort to explain very basic knowledge about Bitcoin. So, what's the specific help that you need, mate? Uhm, about this
Wallet security, a good choice of wallet is as important as privacy.
This is true, but it's not only the security of the wallet itself that's important; you also need to know how to secure it. For example, you need to know that the wallet consists of two keys: a private key and a public key. The private key to your wallet is a lengthy string of letters and numbers that, like a password, must be kept hidden. Meanwhile, the public key is your wallet address that was shown publicly. People can send crypto (or, in this case, bitcoin) to you through this address. It is right that wallet addresses consist of random alphanumeric that start with a 1, a 3, or a b. I hope it could help, if not don't be hesitate to ask more specific questions in this forums. Cheers!

Come on, don't be too bitter about this thread. I think we need to be grateful for each piece of information and education that's been shared here because probably not all people are aware of this, and besides, it's in the Beginners & Help section, which means it's primarily intended for newbies. However, thanks to those who clarified that the email hidden setting is actually on by default. We can change the default setting if we want to show our email for certain purposes. All of this is valuable information for newbies, so there's nothing wrong with it.

159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need help on: April 17, 2023, 04:31:08 AM
Bitcoin is a good idea if only you have knowledge about it, so learning the basics is really important for a beginner like you. The first thing that you need to know, of course, is how to receive and keep it. So, you need a wallet to do that. It can be an online wallet or a hardware wallet (physical) like Ledger. Once you make the wallet, always remember to keep your private key (it's important to access your wallet) and not to share it with other people. When you have a wallet, there will be an address (a (public key) included that you can share with your payer so they can send the bitcoin to your address. When you receive it, you can see the amount in your wallet, and you can check the transaction through the blockchain explorer by inputting your bitcoin address. After you own the BTC, you might want to change it into fiat money. You can do this by selling it on the exchange. Most people will do the trading on centralised exchanges. Try to find information on the best centralised exchanges for your country (since sometimes you can't access big exchanges like Binance without a VPN in some countries). If you are interested in learning more about bitcoin, I suggest you start by reading the threads in this forum and getting used to reading the news from trustworthy sources like Cointelegraph, CoinDesk, and many others.
160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto pump and dump Schemes on: April 17, 2023, 04:15:31 AM
Well, some people actually love to invest in pump-and-dump projects since they can ride the wave. What becomes the problem is when newbies don't know about this and attempt to jump in just because of FOMO and are left with disaster afterward. It is okay if they can afford those losses, learn from them, and then gain profit in other chances, but these projects could really damage crypto's image and make people hate it, and when new people are unwilling to invest, it can affect crypto further. This is why education is important. Newbies should always do their own research before investing, learn the pattern, and people who are already in it should always share the right knowledge with these new people, not trap or drag them into the hype so their bags could be sold. By this, crypto will be everlasting, and there will be more chances to gain more profits in a healthier way.
