141  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING - Dont use BitInstant. - Given the run-around on: May 15, 2013, 01:13:43 PM
I resent the OP's coupon code just a few minutes ago (before even seeing this thread too).

The order originally executed on may 1st, but emails can sometimes get lost in spam filters which is why we always advise checking the spam folder.

143  Economy / Economics / Re: Knowledge check: If a government had only 2 functions, what would they be? on: May 15, 2013, 11:03:58 AM
I can think of 3, it's hard to cut down to 2:

1 - National defence against foreign invasion and other military threats
2 - Protection of human rights (don't laugh)
3 - Enforcement of contracts

Ursay,

It's been over 30 days since my orders.  I have entrusted Bitinstant with $900 of my monies without any compensation. I have now realized that the company you are working for has been giving me the runaround in the hopes that I will go away. My patience has ran out after time and again you telling me you are working on my issues.

Why are others being taken care of while I've been waiting for over a month for my bit coins???
Totally unprofessional!

$900 + 33 days= 0.   I want action now

Is anyone out there experiencing what I am going through?   Is anyone taking legal action in which I can take part?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Baggage

Contact bitinstant support, give them a bit of leeway with trying to help solve the issue.
If you believe they are giving you the runaround, then do all in your power to tell everyone and give negative review for bitinstant. Post how bad your experience has been on other posts in this forum as well as on reddit etc.
You could pursue legal action to recover funds, although it will be difficult.

We aren't giving anyone the run-around, as seen above baggage's issues are resolved - they simply got caught in the backlog last month while we were still experiencing issues and have now been fixed.

Even if Bitinstant wasnt giving 'baggage' the run-around, Im sure that waiting for 30 days it certainly felt that way to them.
I myself am in a similar situation and have been waiting since 25th April. Thats around 20 days. My patience is running out quick like baggage.

Do you have any info which will allow me to find your order and help you with a resolution?  Did you log your issue at bitinstant.com/contact?
URSAY, I have pm'd you twice now. I have contacted bitinstant support. You yourself said the problem was in the queue.
My email is rory.wheeler@gmail.com
My order is https://www.bitinstant.com/order_status/957a54e6-2f56-4cf2-815c-382504a93c19
I now am waiting 21 days and counting. I get the same response each time I ask, about providing details.
You must understand, why after 21 days, why I feel like I am getting the run-around, and why soon I will seek other avenues to recover my funds as well as providing as much negative feedback I can about bitinstant.

I don't have any current PMs.  You had not provided any info which would allow me to look up your order in your last posts.

With the info you just provided, I can confirm you are in the support queue.  I apologize for your delay and I hope that we can bring you a solution very soon.

A manual transfer was performed for this order on may the 1st and that manual transfer executed fine.

baggage - please check your emails including the spam folder and look for your VouchX code there, if you can not find it then we can resend the email but your order has in fact executed.

Just thought i'd let people know here i've done the most perverted thing by asking for non-nude images from every angle for the purposes of 3D avatar construction for a hobby project of mine.

Yes i'm serious

Not exactly a quality demo, I mean the shoe on head thing is a joke of course but this would be the perfect opportunity to provide a quality sample to show what people are actually getting.

This guy is like a bad copy of penn and teller, very exaggerated shouty style.

How about a picture rather than a physical description?

With shoe on head please.

Edit: I'll pay .02 BTC for it. But is must say Bitcoin in the time stamp.  (post btc address with photo)

Thanks

We'll send one your way tonight when I get home from work.

ahh, I meant posted in this thread but since I committed I will pay if you link me to it as well.

I'll report to the rest of you if it is sent.

I just have to see this shoe on head pic for pure comedy value now.

I work in a factory that makes those little paper umbrellas used for cocktails like Mai Tais or Pina Coladas. I work in quality control ensuring that the umbrella opens and closes effectively.
You spend your entire day jacking off little paper umbrellas?

Suddenly I don't mind taking care of twins so much. At least there's variety. Smiley

Hey, that's serious vital work. If I don't do my job right someone could poke an eye out when a defective one pops open accidentally.  Grin

BTW: I said this same joke response under my old nick (CornedBeefHash) almost two years ago when someone posted the same type of thread. This whole place is starting to go in circles!

Never gamble more than you can afford to lose, regardless of what form that gambling takes.

Sadly it seems to be one of those "self help" books which are mostly nonsense - I may be wrong about this particular author though, but the vast majority of these books are useless.

Still, awesome in itself.

I placed an order earlier today, the timestamp from bitinstant was Mon May 13 03:07:13 2013

Something went wrong with my order and it had to retry with the message "Automatic retry triggered". This was a bit frustrating but I know sometimes things go wrong. It was retrying every 15 minutes until it updated with these messages: "Cancel outgoing payment" and "Outgoing payment canceled!". I opened a ticket just previous to this new message but I've only received automated replies so far. I only want to make sure my transaction will go through and that this isn't a big problem. I should also say that the only reason I decided to use bitinstant this time was because it was supposedly fast. The response time is pretty dismal so far I'm sorry to say. My transaction was guaranteed to be finished within a day so I'm not panicking yet but I am a bit worried due to the order page not updating anymore.

Thanks.
Orwald

We had a period of about 3 hours earlier this morning where some orders were failing, most are being caught up on just fine but if yours is still at issue let me know the OrderID and i'll push it through for you immediately.

Hello,

I am going through the same issue with Orwald. Can you do the same to my order as well? Thanks!
My OrderID/QuoteID is 9f7f9d0b-9c99-4e6e-94eb-651be593cf37

Both processed - apologies for the delays.

Current orders should be running smoothly and on time now.

Well, that was a pretty unpleasant experience.

I used MoneyGram on a Vcom machine at 7-11.  Based on searches, I thought I'd be calling on the machine's phone and paying the cashier, but it had me use my cell phone and pay the machine.  Giving my information to the operator was fairly painless--for a cell phone call in a busy 7-11, anyway.  After she concluded the call, there were a few more steps to go through on screen.  When I finished, it asked for my payment--cash or debit, which surprised me.  I already had the cash, so I chose cash and inserted it.  After a few seconds I got a transaction failed message, but no receipt of any kind.  I was about to panic when a message popped up instructing me to take my money, and then it spit it all back out at me.

So I guess I have an open ticket now.  I was in a rush, otherwise I would have tried calling again, but I have no idea what went wrong so I don't even know what the available options are.  Continue the transaction from where the operator hung up?  Redo the whole thing?  Scrap this ticket and try again?

BitInstant's instructions are just kind of like: go to location and do a thing.  It'd be nice if they were a bit more explicit about what to expect.

This is the first i've heard of anyone using a machine, generally it's a simple phone call or you only talk to the clerk at the till, if there's any confusion on the process i'd recommend getting in touch with support@zipzapinc.com for advice.

If you haven't completed payment on an existing quote then don't worry about it and feel free to make a fresh one when ready - quotes are not binding and only become orders once payment is made.

What is the best option to get your coins with no hiccups?  Bitcoin to email?  Bitstamp?  Bitcoin Address?

I'm not aware of any current issues with any of our destinations, so choose what is most convenient.

As i'm now quite fond of telling people, i'm in the UK myself and hate doing things the slow way so trust me that UK support will come eventually.
