Chelsea must win 3 points in their home match this week from Brentford. I have no reason why Chelsea should lose maximum points in their home game, but Brentford can sometimes surprise. Chelsea have found something good in their form which has resulted in them winning 7 points from the last 3 matches. They have a higher chance of winning than losing or drawing, but every player must be realistic enough that Brentford can be a big threat if underestimated.

Chelsea really have been showing some strong performances lately and I think this is gonna be a tough clash. To be honest in last game they were a bit lucky but nonetheless they really were aggressive in their previous game from the beginning. I think with that type of attitude they can really win the match. They also needs to be wary of Brentford's counter attack which has really helped the Bees thrash some big opponents earlier.

Tottenham have a relatively easy game too, so they still seem to be safe at the top of the table even if Arsenal and Manchester City can win their respective games. Crystal Palace is not expected to be so strong even though they are playing at home, but Crystal Palace is not bad compare Chelsea who both have 12 points in 9 matches.

Spurs have been doing great so far. I think they are really playing a great game and I expect them to lose some points when they face City which will be in December. I think till then they have got some pretty easy opponents with the form they are in.

De Gea is still free agent. I saw a source claiming that Manchester United might rethink of signing him back. However that source was The Sun so I don't believe anything they publish.  Grin

Apart from that it is said he can even decide for an early retirement depending on his getting a satisfying offer from a team. I hope he doesn't get retired this early in his career. 32 isn't an old age for a goalkeeper. Especially for a great goalkeeper like him. Probably teams from Europe don't want to approach due to his high demand. Otherwise I don't know the reason. Maybe he would get an offer from Saudi Arabia or Qatar.

I don't believe this at all. The Sun or any other similar sources always goes way off the mark. They just want to stir and post some nice gossip articles without any strong base. With the way De Gea was ditched by United I really don't think De Gea will say yes even if United approaches him. Besides United have backup goalkeepers and I think there is no need. Also Onana needs a bit of time and he will be back with form for United. I think he is a great goalkeeper. A mistake or two might have costed United a lot but he has saved a lot for United too.

This is a bad news for Newcastle, and it will make them to experience some challenges in their next game because Sandro Tonali has displayed some positive things that made Newcastle midfield became solid in this season. But that 10 months is too much for such offense because it will make the particular team that involved in such act to regret why they signed in such players in this summer, and it will take a long time before such team can recover from such incident, which it will make many players that are into such activities to start avoiding such so that what happened to Sandro Tonali will not happen to them too.

Newcastle manager will use another player to handle his position till he finish his punishment in 10 months before he will be allow to play football in the Newcastle, and I believe Newcastle manager will try his best to train his players to make midfield solid in all their games.

Certainly that is a bad news for Newcastle as he had been showing some strong performances for the Magpies so far. Still I would say that Newcastle have plenty of players to play in midfield and can still give their opponents a tough time. I feel that the 10 months ban is a right call and serves as a good example for others to stay away from gambling. Tonali also needs to make sure that he stays away from gambling here on and is also in the best shape when he returns as Newcastle have a very good squad and it is hard to compete in such squad for a starting lineup position.

Jamal Musiala is a talented player for sure. He has his best moments and he was sometimes performing less than expected and widely criticised by fans.
There is Liverpool who was interested in him to replace Mohamed Salah, in addition to Real Madrid and Manchester City. There isn't talks right now between Musiala and Bayern Munich to extend the contract which will expire in 2026 tho and the player expressed his admiration for EPL. I don't think Bayern Munich will prevent him from leaving if he wants.
The question is Liverpool afford to spend a high amount of money to sign Musiala? Their biggest transfer was Nunez which they spent for 85 Million Euros, Musiala's market value is 115 Million Euros, it's really big for Liverpool.

I think Klopp will try to find an alternative player which play in weak club or small league rather than sign a star player.

Liverpool always find it hard to make a move on a big player. Nunez was the last player for which they made a bold move but usually they always try to stay economical. About Musiala, it's no doubt with the talent and young age Bayern are gonna ask for over a 100m Euro easily but it's not a bad deal in my opinion. Liverpool also earlier looking for Bellingham but Bellingham price was too high for Liverpool and Liverpool went out of the race. So I think same is gonna happen with Musiala and will later go on to get someone else.

It's not about getting player from weaker teams or so. Star player often has a high price but you can find a good player even in some weaker teams.

I don't know if you are noticing one thing, Erling Haaland hasn't scored since the day De Bruyne got injured and left the field until now. The star was previously described as a goal machine, but since De Bruyne left the field, the goalscoring ability of the machine has decreased significantly, meaning that it is clear that De Bruyne has been providing a great assist for Erling Haaland's goals. No matter what star Manchester City tries to play in De Bruyne's position, it is never possible to get a performance like De Bruyne from that star.

Erling Haaland's skills need to improve enough so that he can score with the help of another player.

I feel that Haaland is doing his job well but it's the other members who are not pushing as hard as Haaland. There are lot of new players for City so it will take them quite a time to adjust as well to the Guardiola tactics. I think Haaland is good as it is, as he is doing his job and is in his position and ready to make a run. I think it's others who are not able find that opening like De Bruyne used to. It is a concern because you might not never know De Bruyne might not be there forever so City needs to find someone who can at least show signs to fill the De Bruyne's roles a bit.

With all the signings in EPL this season, why is everyone skipping the outstanding performance of James Maddison who's absolutely brilliant in every game he features for his new club. Tottenham Hotspur signed James Maddison from relegating side, Leicester city and he's making tremendous positive impact on the club. Spurs are actually satisfied with his performance and they will continue to present good results in League games. The whole idea is Heung-Min Son and Richardlison at their peak with James Maddison, a smashed combo it is.

James Maddison has really been a crucial player for Leicester and Spurs did a really good job signing him from Leicester. I think they have now got a great attacking midfielder and right now he is having great time at Spurs. At first I really had my doubts about Spurs performance after Kane's departure but Spurs are doing really well without Kane and it's now Son-Maddison duo who are doing a great job at Spurs. The duo has registered 10 goals and 6 assists in 9 games and that really shows the impact for Spurs.

Spurs fans right now are cloud nine with Spurs now top of the table with 23 points and they deserve it with the way they have played so far in PL.

There is no doubt that Haaland is one of the best strikers in the Premier League if not the best because he score plenty goals that people never expect in his first season in the Premier League, but this season, he has played some matches without scoring goals due to the absence of KDB in Manchester City's midfield.

Yes, there isn't much good balls to leap on and with De Bruyne absence opponent's main focus has shifted towards Haaland and he is usually in tight spaces now. I think I expected that pretty much when KDB got injured. I think if someone steps up and start feeding in some good passes or crosses then Haaland can again be on a scoring spree. It just needs a bit of better understanding and coordination.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 24, 2023, 06:08:28 PM
Even if Arsenal are not favorites against Sevilla, Arsenal will have to put in a great performance against Sevilla. No matter how Arsenal plan their other matches of the season, they will have to plan hard in this match and definitely play for the 3 points. Arsenal's Champions League survival depends on this one match. If Arsenal make a mistake in this match, they will have to wait another season. Not just waiting for one season but they have to do well in the Premier League and then secure the Champions League ticket. As this match is very important for Arsenal, I think Arsenal will not make mistakes in this match. Martinelli and Saka could be game changers for Arsenal. Martinelli and Saka are expected to be at their best against Sevilla.

I think Arsenal are favourites with the squad they have and I think they can really outtake Sevilla here without a doubt. However, it's a CL match so might be a surprise but Arsenal really are better in terms of squad and form as compared to Sevilla. It's just 2 matches in group rounds, so its not a dire situation for Arsenal yet but things will certainly look good for them if they can get wins from these early matches to move onto next stage comfortably. And with the squad they have they really should win these matches as they made some heavy transfers in last window just for these type of competitions.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 24, 2023, 04:26:05 PM
Gundogan and De Bruyne were among Manchester City's best players last season. And with the help of these two players, Manchester City scored a lot last season. Haaland was also in top form. With the midfield strong, City's attacking players also did very well. Gundogan is not with the squad this season. Also De Bruyne is out of the squad due to injury. So naturally, Manchester City's performance is a bit slow this season.

Yes that is quite true indeed, De Bruyne's injury was an unexpected one but well that is what have lead to a strong attacking midfield linkup and it is affecting City's performance. Still they have some quite some players in midfield but not close to fill De Bruyne's boot completely.

Haaland scored 9 goals in 9 matches this season. However, City's midfield is still weak. City can play well because of Guardiola's excellent match strategy. Guardiola is rumored to be interested in adding Toni Kroos to his squad. If Kross joins the City squad then I think Manches City will be strong again.

About this, the question is does Kroos also plans to leave Real Madrid and join Manchester City? I don't think so. I think he is gonna stay a while at Madrid no matter what offers are on his table. Although it will be quite good to have midfield maestro in the squad but I feel like Kroos to City if is true will be a hard one. It is also possible that Madrid might not plan to let him go.

That's how it's supposed to be, for any club playing against Chelsea to find it hard to win them. Chelsea can't spend such a huge amount on signing new players and they will be losing matches. That's not right.

The Chelsea vs Arsenal match had Chelsea in a better position to win the match easily but the error from their goalkeeper denied Chelsea from earning 3 points instead of a point(draw) at the end of the match

I like how the Chelsea team has picked up in performance tremendously than they were before. They have challenging teams to play by November, and no one can predict how their performance in the next matches in November will pan out. Whether to win all of them, lose some, or draw a blank. Hands crossed.

Yeah they really put a lot of pressure throughout the game on Arsenal. Both team's goalkeeper made mistakes but in the end it was an entertaining match and  both teams split the points. Chelsea really played last game pretty well and maybe it was derby and that's why they really pushed in that game but to be honest if they put that much energy in next matches then they really can climb up the ladder again. Chelsea have some tough fixtures coming and they really needed their team to be strong and I think they are improving their game. Next up is Brentford and they really can be a tough opponents at times.

I wonder how Napoli will continue now and what the price would be that they want for him if he really were to leave the club in January. I doubt that they would go much lower than $150 million, but would Chelsea be willing to pay that much? Napoli would also weaken themselves too early if they let him go. There is still a lot on the line for Napoli this season.
Comparing to other big player transfer, 150 Million Euros is still cheap since Osimhen's market value is 122 Million Euros. It's still normal for Napoli to ask from 122-200 Million Euros, higher than 200 Million Euros is already too much.

But since this is Chelsea, they don't have any problem with such big fee, just remember how much they spent for two weak players e.g. Mudryk and Enzo.

I am not sure that these inflated prices will be the new standard forever. I guess a lot depends on clubs from Saudi Arabia or clubs like PSG that are run by sheikhs and are willing to pay these prices. Was the Neymar transfer ever really be justified? Did Neymar pay back the 222 million with goals and assists? I don't know whether these investors do some accounting on their investments or whether they only pour their money into these clubs for fun or for other reasons than becoming successful in soccer. I think 200 million would be too much for Osimhen, but that doesn't mean that I don't believe some club could be willing to pay it. Maybe some club will, but Liverpool and Real Madrid would not pay 200 million for Osimhen because these clubs know what they are doing.

I feel it all depends on how crucial is player to the team. If club finds the player indispensable member of the squad then definitely the valuation will be much more than the initial value and right now Osimhen is actually is as there is no one close to replace him at Napoli. Napoli will surely ask for 150m + Euro easily, there is no doubt about that unless they find someone exactly to replace him. They have already put a lot to get him and that's also another factor too. With recent drama around Osimhen, things can't be said for clear but from Napoli point of view they normally shouldn't budge below 150m euro valuation.

I would not be so sure about that , that in this game there will be not much to do for the Goalkeeper.
Even Mianz is in one of the last positions on table , they can always surprise a team when all things going good for them.
And after all i dont think that Neuer will be in the starting formation but we will see this all on sunday how is playing in the goal.

Yeah certainly, last season also I saw Mainz post some strong results against heavy opponents. They surely shouldn't be underestimated and Bayern close with other opponents on the table they surely shouldn't take things carelessly. It's always the team who are performing poorly can surprise a big team at times when they desperately need some points. Neuer update is certainly a boost for Bayern but I strongly feel that they won't risk playing him yet.

[....]

I don't think people will be worried if Chelsea loses to Arsenal, but what is worried is if Chelsea can beat Arsenal. So far, Chelsea has also performed poorly in home matches, winning only 1 of 4 matches. Chelsea have suffered two defeats at home, but I think they will avoid a third defeat this week for the derby. Arsenal is the favorite, but Chelsea cannot be said to be bad.

Derby always tends to be interesting and the form Chelsea are in right now, a win against Arsenal in London derby will give a big statement to Chelsea fans. Arsenal are certainly favourites but Chelsea shouldn't be underestimated with the squad they have. All it takes is one goal and defend till the end to win the game and if they have a perfect gameplan against Arsenal and execute it well then they also have a chance. However I am rooting in for Arsenal as they have got the lead against City and now we have to perform consistently and we have to win these kind of matches also which are a big hurdle for us in the title race.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 19, 2023, 03:07:00 PM
For Arsenal to face Real Madrid they first need to play well in the group, where they are in second place so far. By the way, they don't have easy opponents and it's not clear whether Arsenal can take first or second place. Because Sevilla and PSV can play well this season. Arsenal have a difficult group, unlike Real Madrid.
Keep insulting Arsenal indirectly because I'm sure they're not even up to Barcelona standards at the present time, considering that the Gunners are struggling to win games. It's hilarious to draw comparisons between Real Madrid and Arsenal. We understand the distinction; Los Blancos is greater than Arsenal in terms of everything, including players and trophies triumphed, and they are considered as the best leading team in the world. Arsenal qualified for the UCL this season, they still got some strength to compete with elite teams down here.

And what about City and Madrid or City and Barcelona? Do remember that Arsenal has beaten City twice since the start. Don't want to brag on this but don't underestimate Arsenal at current state as well. You can pull out the stats factor and yes both these Spanish giants have got a lot in their cabinet but it gets difficult year after year as there are other clubs who are making it hard and Arsenal is definitely one of those.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 19, 2023, 02:41:25 PM
Having one Bellingham does not make Real Madrid very satisfied and it is reported that Real Madrid has sent a talent scout to monitor Jude Bellingham's younger brother, Jobe Bellingham, who currently plays for Sunderland in the championship division. Jobe Bellingham is still only 18 years old and is only two years apart from his older brother who is currently playing for Real Madrid. It seems that Jobe Bellingham is quite promising but currently Real Madrid has so many midfielders available.

Hard to get around with this as I haven't seen performance like his brother Jude from him before getting into Madrid. Jude had to go through a lot to get into Madrid. He had some great performances with Dortmund before he fell into Madrid's radar but with Jobe I don't think he has put something remarkable in display to be considered by Madrid yet. Will believe this if multiple strong sources confirms this but as of now it's only transfermarkt rumours.

But Osimhen is not in the position to decide whether to leave or to stay. He has a valid contract with the club and these small shenanigans would never be enough to unilaterally terminate the employment relationship or to go on a strike or sabotage the relationship he has with Napoli.

Chelsea definitely has the pocket for getting Osmihen but the question is how much will Napoli ask for letting Osmihen go. To be honest I think Chelsea are making a bad mistake as they are focusing on area where they don't need to. They have enough players in attack and by signing another they will definitely make someone else sit who they signed a couple of months ago. These are just poor transfer business in my opinion as obviously they lack a lot in defence area.
157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 19, 2023, 10:50:24 AM
Neuer is finally expected to recover from his injury very soon. Some news sources have written like he is likely to return until the Mainz game. It looks like the national break is going to be helpful for Neuer to miss less games than expected. However I doubt that he would be in the starting eleven in this game at least.

I think they should still give him a one week or two week rest and start testing him out in training games until 100% fit. It's hard to come by with exact replacement for Neuer so Bayern should ensure that coming after a long time Neuer doesn't gets another fresh injury again otherwise he will be more injury prone later on.

Gnabry and de Ligt are also expected to start training with their teammates soon. These are all good news for Bayern Munich as these players all are really important talented players. Especially de Ligt's return would help them make their defending stronger.

That will definitely be good news for Bayern and definitely help Bayern with attack and defense. Lately Bayern have been struggling with defense and de Ligt's coming back will realy get them a boost.

There a lot of good players that have the Level for doing it but i dont know why they dont cant keep it , best example is Karim Adeyemi , good player but hasnt scored for a while.

Yes there is a huge pool of talent at Dortmund. Adeyemi is one of them and there are lot others and with proper game time they can develop them at top level. Normally developing a player and developing a squad at optimum level guarantees a title after a while but is it for sure that the player will stay at Dortmund then? There will be lot of clubs who will approach players and some of those clubs will either give them a very lucrative offer or some club will be a dream club to play for for the player. It's hard for a club when it comes to situation like that so I feel that Dortmund should try to fix this.

Only player that has been committed to the club for so long is Marco Reus but except for him I can't name a player who has stayed for long.
159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 18, 2023, 03:17:06 PM
I think failing to convince a player to stay is the main reason and not selling them. What if player puts a pressure and declines contract extensions? Then obviously it will be loss for  Dortmund later on as the player will move out for free. I feel that Dortmund should find a good way to convince a plyer to stay as like this they are only waiting for Bayern to become inconsistent in the league and get the title for themselves. Dortmund are just not putting any effort to win the title like this .
I dont agree on that , and Dortmund putting a lot of effort in it to win the title but they doing that on a different way.
For sure they would be have the Money for getting very good players and hold good players , but for how long would this be working ?
Even they lost a lot of very good Players in the last years i think they are on right way and making every season little steps forward to catch up with Munich in league.

It's not like I wanted to undermine Dortmund at all but I feel that Dortmund also needs to step up their consistency to a level at which Bayern are in. And Dortmund do need strong players to get that consistency. With players moving out or being sold they are relying on fresh faces and experience with which I feel chances are very low to win a title. Even if they do I would say they are lucky to win the title.
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 18, 2023, 02:28:06 PM
The business strategy of not buying superstars but creating superstars originated from the financial crisis that made Dortmund miserable in 2004. Indeed, for many years, the team from Germany still exists and is a force in world football. The team's philosophy of selling talented players also makes it weaker, but they have earned a lot of money to maintain the team until now.

Dortmund last won the Bundesliga championship in the 2011-2012 season. After that, Bayern Munich began a period of domination. Assuming Dortmund can keep their star. Dortmund can also compete with giants Bayern Munich.
