141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOBL]*NOBLECOIN* - LIBERTY. PROSPERITY. SECURITY. ** NOW ON 2 EXCHANGES ** on: January 20, 2014, 04:36:57 PM
We need more exchanges Smiley
One exchange is good enough for now, first we need to point out to all other people why this coin is superiour / different than all other coins.

More transparancy and information about the coin should be published, I believe we should look into:
- weekly updates / newletter (as sugested by Norrisk);
- get the marketing machine going, create a simple / visual but informative "1 page" with Noble coin's keypoints that you can distribute online. For example on Facebook/twitter and other websites. Just to get the attention and create awareness;
- publish your (developments team) view about the coin; talk about the progress you made and the which great things will be released (soon)

Besides these "obvious" points I think that the coin needs some hypeing, like a "released soon" page that gives a countdown clock with new features released. They could start doing this when the Android app is ready, put it in the market as if it is something totally "new". Just my thoughts and idea's Wink
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] - A Professional Cryptocurrency ✈ Now Launched!! ✔ on: January 17, 2014, 04:13:19 PM
I think it's a given that it'll fall just after listing, but given DGB's usefulness as a POS currency I expect that those who wait too long to buy will find themselves locked out of the market as it will rise again soon. My completely unscientific guesstimate would be in the region of 50-100Satoshi's.  If it lists for that much it's going to get smashed by multipools tho :/

It seems like a lot of you are forgetting the MASSIVE giveaway in the first 48 hours, let's do the math:
**Note: After the first 48 hours of DigiByte's life over 37 million of the giveaway account has been disbursed to over 1200 wallet addresses !**
37.000.000 / 1200 = 30833,33333333333

That is more than 30K average as a give away in only the first 48 hours..... That is something not really healthy in my view, then there is the other give away to people who simply give a facebook like or a post; ohh and not to forget the "scammish" websites that got 10K+ coins when adding digibyte.

So my believe is, this coin will drop like a rock as a lot (for example half of give away is already 15 million) will get dumped...
Please convince me otherwise but the too agressive giveaways only work to get noticed but not to build a steady coin!(based upon other coins!!)

Just one sentece "Buy cheap while it last!" I'm whilling to buy 5 millions when the price gets dumped, now we see what will happend, becouse everything right now it's speculations and a merchand wont survive long with this.

with 3mh/s scrypt - you can mine 36$ a day now do the math's
with 3mh/s scrypt - you can mine 30k DGB

1000 DGB = 1$

You are referring to a coin that can be traded on more than 1 site... think comparing a hardly establised coin to one that is in the market for years is kind of "tricky"

Will see what the coin does one is goes on an exchange....

.....
I honestly don't think a coin is required at all there, but for times where a coin would be meaningful, we have one that looks great already. I don't understand why everyone want's to change it Tongue
I kind of agree, right now it's not that much required when we have these but we are not the ones deciding what the market (websites/traders/exchanges) want to use. I can understand that they request that every crypto has their own "coinsymbol" as otherwise everbody would create their own wild logo. When a website accepts 7 crypto's this should be made visible on a simple, standarized and clean way.

This is the next chance in my view, to create an "overall"  company that lobbies for crypto's. This could be something "The movement" could pick up, to get a standarized adapter which allows any website to simply start using coins. I know that for bitcoin something already exists but my point is that this should be done for several coins not just for 1. Giving the website the possibility to simply "enrich" the coins they accept when they feel the time is needed. I'm sure a webshop does not want to do business with 5 to 10 different coins, single piont of contact is needed for that in my view....

Taking into account latest round of feedback (as well as the realisation and understanding that the smaller we went for incoming merchants - the more options and cleaner look we had to give because our current stuff when shrunk looked atrocious). The coin at these sizes basically becomes has to be a simple circle as you say. We will come up with something soon regarding the coin and circle/noble graphics. However, in the meantime we're looking for some feedback and ideas regarding:

Special thanks to a3tje for jumping on us to get this sorted so far. Smiley

edit: We'll also get some feedback on a3tje's stuff!
Cheesy yessss a clean design, nice look and feel, something destinctive and great for usage online / posters / banners (you name it). Again credits to the development team for looking seriously into this Smiley

btw my input is not as good but just as inspiration Wink

We asked him to for now (use the current one) as we completely noticed the sizing did not work with the coin design. We're doing a package now to hopefully meet every pointer you made as we definitely need a standardised package (this is still full of options to go with the style of the site).
Had some time in my break and make this logo (using online photoshop)

Last night I came up with this:
http://postimg.org/image/3s0rorrr3/

Also another one with the eagle and some tekst:
http://postimg.org/image/xn2w5jhvj/

I'm not really satified with it but still, better than nothing Tongue
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOBL]*NOBLECOIN* - FOR NOBLE PROSPERITY on: January 17, 2014, 11:17:04 AM
I added NobleCoin as payment on my (french) online store.
Warning! There are no automatic payment module. Contact the shop before validating shopping cart
http://www.glivet.com
It's good to be on a site however seems the site is very limited and "already" 8 months old but still only 2 articles....

Anyway the site again shows that Noblecoin in my view lacks the following points, which are also important to get into a trading site:
Regarding Noblecoin Accepted here logo:
 - It misses a border around it, it should have one to see where you can click and looks cleaner;
 - The logo of the coin is now missing, don't know why the siteowner didnt use it.
 - In my view we should offer several options: 3d and clean and simple logo's / banners; if a site wants to support Noblecoin then we should provide them the a choice;
Use link to see what I mean: http://postimg.org/image/fiiui63a3/

Regarding the "Payment" buttons:
 - The logo with the coin in my opinion looks cheap and not professional enough anymore, if we want to be taken serious this something to change;
 - The name Noble isn't largly visible on the coin itself, the eagle is visible but is this "our" real logo? If yes then we should standarize that and put it out into the world (websites, blogs, etc);
http://postimg.org/image/ehui5kxpj/

I understand that the focus is mainly on development and not on design however without a good design and standarization it will never reach its real potential. When the coin will and wants to become more mainstream, people have to be triggered and believe the community based upon their contact with the coin. They are not going to look further if they believe the website, logo, banners seem a bit "outdated". In my view now it shows that there is still a lot of work to do, so why would people want to get involved when there are X coins out there that to have this....
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOBL]*NOBLECOIN* - FOR NOBLE PROSPERITY on: January 16, 2014, 10:01:37 PM
Anyone has a nice symbol to use for Noble? Searching the unicode (arial) I found:

But is there already a symbol established ?
Something like this (page 55 post by Rofo)
https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.noblemovement.com%2Fimages%2Fnoble_small.png&t=536&c=JGPDxfGzgS81fw
https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.noblemovement.com%2Fimages%2Faccepted3.png&t=536&c=347qrTUDTTzibg

I believe we need a more simple version, with only the outlines and the yellow color... however im not good anough at photoshop to fix that and also don't know if development wants it;I think it would be an addition Wink
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Survey] Start of 2014 Most Promising Coin on: January 16, 2014, 08:46:06 PM
NobleCoin because of the fact that it is the only coin with a real community instead of a "bought" group of people.

They try to get people involed by inspiring people not by giving away millions of coins for a "like" or a "vote" at every forum. This means the coin will get a strong base and then go to an exchange, like it was done with the (old) succesfull coins. Most of the quick coins have the issue of big miners who DUMP al their coins on the exchange for money Wink

Rofo you keep amazing me Cheesy so quick and indeed (better) logo but still think a "flat" logo will be needed too. If you put this logo next to Bitcoin/Litecoin it is a bit "in your face", I don't want to push my opinion (only give my view) so comments welcome Smiley

Nice post and pool Cheesy however for me it also makes clear the logo does not work so well as you cannot directly see it's NOBLECOIN.

Shouldn't we get a simple design out like most coins have, Bitcoin has the B, Litecoin has the L, Namecoin had the N (so we can't take the N). I mean to say, the name of the coin should be visible on the coin itself. So you can see in 1 overview it's Noblecoin that is accepted, used, mined whatever.

Besides this we are still missing the "Noblecoin Accepter Here" banner but I believe a flat / simple distinct logo is needed to design that...

p.s. wish I was better at Photoshop so I could create something so show what I mean
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOBL]*NOBLECOIN* - FOR NOBLE PROSPERITY on: January 16, 2014, 11:02:37 AM
i actually message that idea to ROFO about 5 hours ago.. which is kinda why i brought up the the topic of PoS and the need to give an incentive to save..

I imagine Rofo is asleep so will be interested to hear his response..

On maintaining an interest account i would say set aside a fixed amount say 50k and use a simple day trade mechanism.. the reality of the market is that we will see eventual dips.. so buying back more with the BTC earned with initial sale is a given... thats pretty much the simplified way of how a bank does it.. of course they have more options...

In the interest of transparency we can even create a www.myaltcoin.com account for the specific trading account..so that any investor could log on to see the status of the transactions...though i am unsure if accessing a site from multiple locations will force account to be closed... we could even choose an Ambassador to give us a status update on the particular account.. Screenshots and all... and no i dont believe this qualifes as a pump and dump system.
Good to hear, hope rofo will give an reply or his thoughts about this.

Maybe a more "simple" method instead of implementing POS would be to adjust the Noble Wallet client. For example when you recieve the coins in your wallet that you have the option to "store" them, giving you +X% interest over a month or to transfer them to your spending wallet. You could also turn it around and implementing an "spending" fee for mined coins. It would make mining more interesting for people who are in for the long run and also it would kind of make "pump and dump" less interesting as your mining reward is lower.

When writing this I realized that the "fee" could then be distributed over people who store their coins. Kind of how a bank works, a saving account and a spending account (one with interest rate and one without, however for this coin instead of giving interest you take a fee and distribute that amongst the other accounts)....

What are everybody's thoughts about this?
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOBL]*NOBLECOIN* - FOR NOBLE PROSPERITY on: January 15, 2014, 04:28:33 PM
Can't we just build in a mechanisme that gives "bonus" coins when you do NOT sell mined coins within 30 days or something like that? This means we will keep the benefit from the attention that new miners bring in but it won't ruin the coin so quickly. Of course some are going to sell directly and don't care about the bonus but some will just keep their coin and want the bonus....

Think we need to look on how to build a steady price that can climb instead of reaching a "high" price that means full dump.... I know that many of us right now think, noooo I will not dump but what IF the price hits lets say "$0,30"?

So there are 2 main issue's when it hits an exchange in my view, how to "fight" the shortterm dumping of coins and how to "fight" the dumps when the price reaches a (made up) critical point (people who compare the coin to Quark will use the info from that coin for example)

It's still far from perfect, I realize that but maybe a good "startingpoint" to build something more simple and to get the masses involved (a bit more).
Please check and give me feedback if you want to and have time, THANKSSS

BTW if you want to make my (birth)day, donations are always welcome  Tongue Cheesy Wink

I care more about honesty than about fee...
I saw that too but noticed that I do not pay any fee:

In my opinion the coinlogo looks good however I believe there should be a seperate logo (not looking like a coin) for the community / website. The current frontpage looks full and complex, instead of clean and simple. This is also caused by the "Latest Posts" logo that is fairly large and does not give a visual representation of the post itself.

I agree with you a3, a separate logo distinguishable from a coin is going to be a to-do, we'll also be replacing the placeholder coin that's currently being used for all the posts. Cheers.

I never understood why so many alts need to have separate logos on/off coin. This tends to dilutes the brand. Why not maintain one good quality logo that becomes easily recognizable everywhere you see it. Does mastercard/visa/paypal/etc have different logos for different purposes? My 0.02

If you take your example of Visa you will see they have a website that is called ICS (international Cards Services) which has a seperate logo. The main idea is that there is a "bank"  and an "institution" meaning there are 2 different instances. This supports the idea that many people lost their trust in the banks / currency and want a seperate community to support them. If it's linked too much then it looks like the coin dev team works for their own benefit, when it's seperated they can for example be "paid" by the community.
Please note that I do not think it should be seperated too much, however seperating it will also give the option for the developers to for example accept different coins on the marketplace instead of only Noblecoin / XBT and USD.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN – NEW COIN 2014] [NOBLE] = NobleCoin = Ticker: [NOBL] on: January 09, 2014, 12:35:09 PM
Consistent and focused dev involvement increases confidence in the coin more than anything else. When a dev doesn't reply or post on the main thread, it just feels as if spectators are dancing to their own tune instead of being heard by the one in charge.

I recommend consistent schedule of dev(s) posting and announcements every 2 days for progress/Q & A, etc. Buyer confidence is necessary for any coin to thrive. Indeed, it is necessary for any investment project to succeed.

I like the idea of positive American values and the concentrated, empowered approach dev is taking in this coin. Forget the nay-sayers. If you give ear to every bitching and moaning based on nothing but pathetic personal urges to get mouthy, you will never get anything done. There are more than enough positives - those who are unwilling to see the majority of reality they do not like to acknowledge will be feeding off the crumbs that fall off the table. That is, if they are even willing to acknowledge it.

I recommend a revamp of logo to be less alt-coin like, and more dedicated. This is to make it stand out and show professionalism. Perhaps think of making it somewhat closer to the Great Seal of The United States of America, without being a copy of it. No need for red white and blue, but some thing closer to the Bald Eagle instead of this somewhat tsarish looking eagle with plucked feathers for wings.

That was my first impression - the eagle looked closer to non-American versions, and identical symbols on its talons and somewhat barren wings (Bald Eagle wings are much more full in their portrayal, as they actually are) reminded me of something else entirely.

A food for thought. No need of over politicize anything, but what is true must be upheld regardless of anyone's 'sensitivities'. You stand to gain nothing if you change at the slightest obstacle.
