shouldn't the server line include double quotes: "server": "localhost:50002:s",
don't turn off rbf. it's very useful.

sudo pip3 install does a system wide installation while python3 -m pip install --user only installs it for the current user. I did not run purge command, i am afraid to purge something because i dont know how to reinstall after that.
you would use the same apt install command you originally did. unless you have trouble starting electrum i would just leave it be.

As you are talking about google authenticator, your wallet was probably 2FA.
You can recover your wallet with your seed phrase even without google authenticator code. As stated by Charles-Tim, your seed phrase should be a series of 12 words. As you are talking about numbers, I doubt what you have is the seed phrase.
For recovering your wallet, you need to have your seed phrase (a series of 12 words) or the wallet file plus the secret key electrum gave you when generating the wallet. The secret key includes random numbers and letters and can be in the form of QR code too.
he doesn't need any secret key. just the seed will suffice.

If using this method, all he has to do is click on the little tab next to "Request" which says "Address", and Electrum will strip all the extraneous formatting and just provide the address for copying.
My bad. I don't know how I missed it maybe because Electrum opened the "request" tab by default for me (it opens the tab you used the last time). However, I still prefer this method and letting Electrum choose an address for you over picking one manually from the Addresses list as this guarantees you will get an unused one. A new user might pick an already used address which is not recommended for privacy reasons ( unless he knows about the "filter" feature and knows how to use it) Also, by using the receive tab, Electrum will take care of generating a new set of addresses each time you reach the gap limit. He means "address" next to "request" on the "receive" tab not the "addresses" tab. It's right there in the second screenshot you posted. The address subtab gives you just the address.

There is nothing to indicate that electrum will be getting rid of the seed extension feature in the future.

are you seeing a balance in the bottom left and a green orb in the bottom right of the electrum window? tell us which address you tried to receive the coins to? does that address belong to your wallet?

If you can't increase the fee of your first transaction, there's no direct point of increasing the second transaction. Not sure if miners will include a parent transaction just because there's a child transaction paying a lot in fees.
yes they will. that's essentially what child pays for parent is.

view is a menu up top not a button. electrum is bitcoin only
when you enter your password into electrum you are not logging into a remote system. you are simply decrypting the wallet file on your own hard disk or solid state drive. the wallet remains on your system only.
the wallet is still going to show as a 2fa wallet but no 2fa code needs to be entered when spending bitcoin so 2fa has been disabled.
you could long tap it and see if it gives you any options like the option to delete it and start over.
how did you install dependencies?

Since you have your backup phrase, you should be ok. Do the following:
1. Open Electrum and select to create a new wallet. 2. Select "Wallet with two-factor authentication" -> I already have a seed -> Paste your backup seed and click next. 3. In the next step, select "Disable" to turn off 2FA from your wallet. 4. Now you should be able to spend your coins without any 2FA code.
Hi guys, I have a similar problem, i have the 12 words to restore my wallet but when i do my funds are not there and on my original wallet i cant transfer them because of google authentication. when i try to follow the 4 steps above if i create a new wallet simple it works, if i chose the two-factor authentication the 12 words does not allow me to restore the wallet ? thanks for the help. then the seed you have is not for a 2fa wallet. either find the correct seed or contact trusted coin and hope they will reset 2fa for you.

receive tab doesn't generate addresses beyond the gap limit.
It's possible to generate addresses beyond the gap limit. If you click on "New address" more than 20 times, electrum will generate addresses beyond the gap limit. Addresses generated beyond the gap limit are highlighted in red and electrum displays a warning saying that the address cannot be recovered automatically if you restore the wallet from seed. you're right. i didn't know about this change. but it'll first hand out addresses within the gap limit.

I was tempted to copy and paste the top one in to use that one, but I thought there should be a means of generating a new one somewhere instead but can find no method to do that.
Yeah, Electrum has the option to generate the new addresses (explore Receive tab for this) which go beyond 20 entries but sending funds to such addresses is not recommended action if your default 20 addresses were never used. Electrum is SPV client which " will get all addresses until 20 unused addresses are found". You may fall into situation which would weird you out. receive tab doesn't generate addresses beyond the gap limit.

OP already has unspent outputs sent to that address so they can know about associated addresses anyway just by viewing address A on a block explorer. now if there were no other utxos then it would make sense to freeze that dust.

you could put in a feature request to get this feature in the GUI: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issuesit used to be that when you selected an entry in that bottom half it would be loaded in the form in the top half. you could then edit things there and save it. idk why they removed that feature.
you can always be tracked since the blockchain is public. freezing or not freezing that output does nothing for your privacy in this instance.

running `electrum help` on the command line on linux will show you what other functions are there. otherwise you can run help() on the console tab in the GUI on all operating systems.
