No chance he will give it to you for free, wait till tomorrow for a new public miner.
pluck was given for free, but yes this one won't be just to avoid giving it to you  Angry

and with that sort of comment I ask all gpu dev, to not release any gpu miner for free for this coin
and to that ungrateful moron in particular Grin

(and lets be honest, that coin has been probably GPU raped during two months by those in the know... adding a xor at the end of an algo isn't complicated)

I stated the truth, I have no clue what you did or anyone else did on the puck thread since I wasn't there. I did this thread for miners to support VNL as a new crypto. I have nothing to gain by giving this thread my time, trying to gather information, trying to help miners. I am not an IT guy, I never learned to code so I myself can't compile a miner for a new algo.

You simply came here to bragfight here with wolf and it's obvious you will never release a miner for the coin which hashes 4x as much as the public miner.

Guess whos the ultimate asshole here, I did this thread for free and I also tried to help several people here.
Grin you are comparing opening a thread and developping a miner.
No sure why you would get anything at all (as you are doing that mostly because you have already a large bag of vanillacoin and that coin has no exchange).
yeah guess whos the ultimate asshole here

I'm not comparing opening a thread to making a miner. You called me a moron because I stated the obvious: you won't release a miner that hashes at 4x the speed of the public one since you are obviously doing this for a living and you are making money.

You called me a moron, who is trying to help others here for stating the obvious. Didn't you not?

Learn to read dude, I wasn't being bad mannered with you. Obviously learning to code hindered you on learning to behave and to socialize.

Check my adress for my huge/large bag. I wasn't even mining with more PCs even though I could have done it easily during the early mining phase.

The windows miner recently I posted here http://vanillacoin.net/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=2879#p2879 is a much better than the current windows miner out there. I specifically dealt with unrolling the loops used in the CPU portions and fixed all problems with multi-card rigs. I will release the final version soon that has working and compiling source code for linux and mac os x. I was able to raise the hashrate of a 4x card rig by over 4 times. Cool

Thank you for your support.

Thank you, already added it to the op with a small notice. Also announced it some comments ago, but wasn't sure if it's stable enough to link.

Can't care less what you will release, I told the guy who asked what John wrote on the irc, he will release a new miner tomorrow, I can wait.

Working SGMiner for WhirlpoolX from source: http://vanillacoin.net/forums/viewtopic.php?id=507

The one in the OP is badly broken on Linux.

Good job as always Wolf. It builds and works nicely -- ~90Mh/s on 290x with the catalyst opencl2 14.41rc1 drivers.
that's all ?  Grin

I didn't edit the OpenCL.
still... I saw someone reporting at 120MH/s with a 280x

I'm pushing over 150MH/s now - beat him.  Grin
I do 500GH/s with 4 cards on supernova, this is unbeatable   Grin Grin

more seriously the 980 does 190MH/s the 780ti ~160MH/s and the 750ti 50~60MH/s

with sgminer ?
no ccminer
available publicly or is it only yours?

No chance he will give it to you for free, wait till tomorrow for a new public miner.

New 32/64bit miner will be released by John-Connor in the upcoming days with increased hashrate and fixes.

this coin need exchanger badlym, 3 month without one is weird  Huh

and I myself identified a PoW bug that allowed me to generate guaranteed blocks during the "solo" period that promised me 5-6 blocks per hour on each wallet, using the built in wallet CPU miner (unoptimized). This exploit existed for weeks on end, and then was patched out in late January.

wow..you exploited a PoW bug for weeks and you didn`t report of it when you found it? and then you cry for unfairness now?

The dev insisted such things were impossible. I shit you not you can go read it in his forums, he's insane. So who am I to prove him wrong? Plus it was pretty obvious he was orchestrating a one-sided advantage for himself the entire time, so what do you expect me to do? And I did report it, to a couple friends. Smiley

Also I fucking *stumbled* onto it because of his constant Mandatory Updates, I didn't even go looking for it. Basically if you closed the wallet, restarted it, and started mining, you were guaranteed a block within like 5 minutes. Like clockwork. Every time. Rinse and repeat or automate it for maximum effect. Coins were all legit and on the main chain, the only time it failed was when the blocks would orphan due to John-Connor increasing the block generation to like 10x the normal rate. Gee I wonder who was getting all those coins.  Roll Eyes

I was never banned for consensus, I never mined with more than 3 CPUs, most of the time only 2. I got banned for complaining too often that the coin was centralized and being sarcastic in tone. Also - I'm not really crying. If I have a gripe it's mostly that the dumkoff dev didn't capitalize on his unique codebase before he egregiously fleeced the early mining periods for a crazy number of weeks. Go grab a calculator and compare the current supply to the release schedule and blocktimes etc, off to a great start amirite? If I'm bitter it's only because I wanted to dump a long time ago cause I ain't even fudding, this is just facts - you think this thing has legs with the current state of how PoW went? Good luck. I'll watch the inevitable clones closely though, because unique codebases are great hype material.

Coin has an 500+ diff now, became ultra popular and you potentially have a huge stash due to a bug and you want to fud it so your stash becomes worthless.

Totally legit guys.

Give him a positive trust rating, he is a hero sacrificing his free BTC for the greater good, because that is how the internet works.

It's been highly centralized by the creator since inception, it wasn't open source for the first 2 months. Even now the full source isn't available, for instance for the wallet binaries. I think the linux wallet still has some RPC issues too? Not sure, got banned from his forums for asking these types of questions haha. Exchanges aren't too keen on centralized coins.

IMO this coin is a mining exploit, the dev has had an optimized/GPU miner from the get go, and I myself identified a PoW bug that allowed me to generate guaranteed blocks during the "solo" period that promised me 5-6 blocks per hour on each wallet, using the built in wallet CPU miner (unoptimized). This exploit existed for weeks on end, and then was patched out in late January. There were also several periods where the block time was literally 1/10th what it should be, sustained, for hours on end - suspiciously this happened after short-notice "mandatory updates" where the network peers dropped significantly. He claimed this was "normal" and the network adjusting - but as it was, by 2 months in, we had generated 4x the amount of coins that should've been generated by that time - so clearly it wasn't "normal". There were also at least 20 times, no joke, 20 times, that he issued a "mandatory update" where we had to move to a new wallet version (still fully closed source at the time) to continue mining. During this time he was manually adjusting PoW and PoS constraints, turning on/off PoW at various times. He also insists the coin has never hard forked. So figure that one out.

Be verrrrry careful with this one. Tons of dumps coming when an exchange does open. Make your money and get out, IMO.
+10000
you took the words right out of my mouth

i also mining  from the start ...with 20+ update and alway on a wrong chain..

I rarely forked to a bad chain, and if I did I just found the answer to my problems on the forum. Maybe your just not good at this?

Also you guys forget that this started out as an alpha software, it had bugs for sure. John has proven that he proven the ability to code, he did a coin from scratch with a lot of work put into it and some nice features to be able and limit people gaming the system. Some may have done it for sure, but all I know is that I could solo mine with a 6 core amd cpu and I can not say this for the other 99% of the coins launched in the past year or so.

The reason you guys are crying is either that you were kicked out of the network by the concensus system implemented or you simply didn't follow the forums on a daily basis (I've refreshed it like 15x every day to find fixes/updates/whatever). Satoshi solomined BTC for ages, obviously John solo mined it from start.

Everything in crypto can end as a scam with mostly anon devs, but atleast this needed a good amount of coding, ill take my chances.

https://vnl.suprnova.cc/ is in beta now. Please support him, he makes great pools. VNL code is new and unique so that's the reason for beta.

updated the op with a few sample configs, please tell me if you have something better. Sadly I only own a 270x.
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VNL - Vanillacoin Whirlpoolx Algo on: February 23, 2015, 09:22:14 AM
For the people asking:

VNL had a concensus system going while the solo mining phase. Literally no one could game the system (those who tried were shadowbaned from the network) and the most people have mined with were 3 dektops (simply cpus). The 4 million coins are probably evenly distrobuted and the faucet atm has 260k coins. Now block rewards a bit lower 106 down from 128, but GPU miners run energy efficiently and produce high hash. ocminer and minerpools are already in talks with the dev on making 3rd party pools for the coin.

Also please read the whitepaper and the VNL forums. Hundreds of pages of information and people taking place in the alpha/beta phase of the coin. John-connor (the dev) has proven that he can code something from scratch and not clone just another X11, X15 or whatever coin is trending.

The coin was well announced before it launched and even the different patches were announced in a seperate thread a few times.

I made #vanillacoin IRC room and already have pool ops, devs, and a few of us early miners in there. It is looking good, come join us. I posted on official forum and am waiting to give john-connor ops Smiley

Added link to the OP  Smiley

Any chance that dev has a twitter account or IRC room/name he uses so that pool ops and exchanges can talk with him? If so, please post here.
Thanks

IRC channel was just made so John is not there yet. Official/Development discussion is being held on vanillacoin.net/forums and you can find "john-connor" there, he is the dev. You can send him an e-mail through the forums or you can use bitmessage to reach him directly: BM-NC49AxAjcqVcF5jNPu85Rb8MJ2d9JqZt

He reads bitmessage pretty often, give him a bit of time to reply since he has family issues now for a day or so. Minerspool and ocminer are also waiting for instructions atm.

Saw it - ended up at the github to see there is no build system.

It will be uploaded soon, im pretty confident in Johns capabilities as a dev so I didn't mind.

Also he has fully proven his ability to code so far.

Not concerned about his ability to code - more concerned that there isn't any solid proof the binaries were built from the source on the github.

Anyway, looking past that, the Linux x64 binary has a daemon, not a GUI. Is there instructions on how to interact with this?

Try to reach John directly with this question: BM-NC49AxAjcqVcF5jNPu85Rb8MJ2d9JqZt is his bitmessage. Hes away now for a day though, wrote family issues, but he watches that pretty often.

It works  Grin I will send you a donation when I mine some vanilla

Nice, good luck mining. Only donate if you have several rigs, else keep them please Grin

Also mine on pool01 currently, because till' the limitations are present you need to keep the pools avarage hash (can't go above) and pool01 has 40 miners and 5 GH/s.

pool02 has 33 miners and not even 1 GH/s.

@traumschiff
OK, nice  Grin
what AMD driver version, but difference is huge, I don't think it is driver related.

edit: can you upload your .bin file Smiley

Using the http://vanillacoin.net/downloads/sgminer_64.zip miner with a 64bit windows 8.

Sorry but .bin file from what?
