To confirm polarity:

Find a capacitor;  one that's polarized.

Ohm from its negative (or + if you get desperate) terminal to the main power connector.  Be sure which one is ground....

You can also try ohming from the negative USB port (or USB port housing should be fine) to the black or red wire to confirm its actually - or + Wink

Looks like something is up with blakecoin pool.  Electron is showing up with a 0 value.

Electron being worthless doesn't mean there something wrong with the blakecoin pool. There is no market for it so it is worth 0, it's also why it's not listed on the pool.

likened to mining PWR on NIST5 no?

*TRUNCATED POST*

Let me show you something;  from the main zpool.ca page:

"Non-BTC payouts depend on that coin being mined as your BTC balance is traded internally by our system to your currency of choice. If we have not or are not mining that currency your payouts will be delayed until the pool has mined the blocks for you to get paid. If you notice in the pools status that the currency is red, it means there is not sufficient amount of the currency to pay miner(s). It's recommended to use BTC as any other coin could be removed at anytime and payouts will not occur."

Live with the reality that this has been the way it works since DAY ONE.

Please;  do not hold your misconceptions or personal inaccuracies against the pool owner.   Its not his fault.

Please understand that you must know what you are doing before you do it;  not to scream repeatedly the same nonsense when you found out that things aren't as you thought they should be.

Its your type of behavior in this thread that has caused one of the zpool threads to be closed some time ago.   Its childish.  Please;  Just stop.

When real bugs are shown (with hysteresis), I usually seem them handled within 24 hours or less time.

Random rants with no actual supporting data (hysteresis) seem to be left hanging for some strange reason  Roll Eyes
1424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 12, 2017, 10:39:06 PM

what coins are the most profitable at this time?

Thats the wrong question.
You should ask yourself "What coin that is at low diff ATM will be more profitable for me to sell when the slump ends?"
Now is the perfect opportunity to buy or mine and build yourself a nice portfolio by September when the investors will start pouring money into crypto again.
So, Jared and Philip, how come your are still selling instead of holding?

Selling?   Im selling hardware and BTCright now because I have medical and other expenses that are drowning me..... that's the prime reason.

I have been heavily investing in alts;  but not in the usual way this last month.

My trading account has fluctuated in the last 2 weeks by as much as 33% mainly on the larger more traded coins;  but;  it always bounces right back up to where it was when all this mess started.... which is just around the highest its ever been.    My experiments most recently with buying "offline" coins on yobit for the shakeup has definitely be successful.  They seem to be BTC resistant and more resistant to market flux.  In all reality, its more profitable because people are apt to dump theirs at bottom satoshi when they feel the need to move funds around.   NKA on yobit being a prime example.   0.00000003-0.00000006 trading for weeks in that coin.  Superb profit.  Granted; a lot of them are still @1, but that's not a loss;  and almost all that I buy so cheap, have an active buying market, so I technically only risk a touch above 0.004% loss (on yobit via tx/order fee) if I have to sell back at bottom satoshi Wink

For all the BTC I am still holding when the fork comes about;  all of it will be on my ledger, aside from what I keep on the exchange tied up in buy/sell orders.  I want ot be prepared for the market to swing in either direction.      The market is the risk originally;  so I understand my reasoning and actions.

My hardware;   I am just cleaning out the Maxwell gear and making room for Pascal cards.  I typically host cards for people I personally know at a % split.  Eventually, Ill end up buying the card(s) from them and they have been more than happy with the profits in the end... and Ill run them until I need room, and then craigslist them.

I consider myself to not be poor, contrary to what people around me think.   I don't have a bankroll, and I honestly barely get on day by day sometimes.    Tis the life I was given, and I make the best of it.   No matter how the market goes;  Ill still be in it.  No matter how the mining scene goes, Ill still be in it.

I just stay focused on both sides of the line... past present and future tenses.
1425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 12, 2017, 01:25:26 AM
I am waiting for people to start dumping off their 1060 and 1070's after a half reclaim on ROI.... you will finally see the cards for what they should be selling for ~160 for a 1060 and ~260 for a 1070.   Those are more realistic second-hand prices.

I just had a local guy on CL debate with me on how his EVGA GTX1060 that he bought for $200 shelf price a month ago are not worth the $320 he was asking for them.... and when I worked him down to $220 cash for one card, that was advertised as being "BNIB", I asked for a zoomed in in focus picture of the PCIE plug to see if it is indeed unused, wherein I got no response back.

So yeah;  I am glad I got my buddy to build his miners before all this fell apart (the 1Kls link);  hes already paid off most if not all of it; and all the profits from now on are clean cut.   His power for his house is included in his rent;  so he's heating his house for the summer XD
1426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gridseed boards help with power (no barrel plugs there?) on: July 12, 2017, 01:20:31 AM
yeah, the USB is the silver socket.  Its a USB type mini A.

Just looking at the power filter components on the top, on top of handling these before;  it is for sure a 12V board.

Just power it up and plug it in.    As long as you have a compatible version of ccminer for its chips/interface (some have a strange USB interface chip that doesn't give you a VCP to work from) it should work like a charm.

I always used ccminer 3.7.2 for gridseed devices.   Its known to have some bugs, but;  its a lot more user friendly and easier to get going correctly than the newer version 4.2 or something like that people were using.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CC miner alexis 1.0 cant make it work.. on: July 12, 2017, 01:14:31 AM
Download ccminer tpruvot 1.6

Test with that version.

You did not include a password in your string you showed blanked or otherwise (did you use one?)

Alexis is only optimized on a few algos, but has support for many.
1428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gridseed boards help with power (no barrel plugs there?) on: July 12, 2017, 01:11:49 AM
Those boards have the power connector on them, 4 black, 4 red wires.

+12V.  Be sure to supply enough current.  Just hook it up and power it on.  a PCIE plug from a PC power supply should do you nicely.

I assume they have a USB port on them.

Now;  if the regular gridseed driver methods don't work (zadig method I think?) you will need the G-black Pi image and a Pi to control them....  But I think this isn't that crazy model like the one ive been working on trying to get running again.
1429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 12, 2017, 01:07:07 AM
I feel ya phil.  This feels like the days when zpool was xpool.... just scraping by on small profits back then.

Are you only on ZEC with your nvidia gear?   I have been maintaining a nice steady profit with NIST5;  it hasn't been huge, but its been reliable to me as skien was before....

http://zpool.ca/?address=1kLsGT9egk3utSKZH46ydTbKj5oMnmBoN
http://zpool.ca/?address=1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP

I am missing the days of 10mbtc/2days with my 3x 1070 equivalent hashrate;  now with my 2x 1070 equivalent;  I am lucky to see 15mbtc/week....

DGB being < 400 is quite a hit to the algos as well.  if it werent so low, skien would be better still.  At least network diff on DGB will be dropping again finally.    My home pc used to find many blocks/day when it was not on the radar.
1430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: July 11, 2017, 11:51:35 PM
Guys I have a query.

Is it possible to make this program less intrusive?

I keep it running in the background and it ends up coming to front of the screen. Let's say I'm watching  a movie while this is running in background, everytime it changes algo or something- it'll come on top of all the windows. I have to get up and then click on minimize it.

Some way to make it less intrusive? so it just mines in background and doesn't come on top of existing windows?

I can think of two ways.

First is to just open powershell and the miner app with the start command (not sure if it will request foreground access after launch tho, you can test) by:

going into the batch that launches the miner.

prefix the powershell command like this:

Code:
START /MIN "NemosMiner" powershell -......................

START will load the program in its own memory space (outside the batch) so be sure that there's no loop in the batch;  this is a "one time hit/launch".

/MIN will start the window minimized (background of sorts)

The part between the quotes is just to label the window you are "start"ing.

If this still keeps taking foreground access while using it;  you can hide the process via the method found in the batch link in my sig listed as: JK's Silent Miner launcher V 1.0

use this instead to launch nemosminer in the system space (outside userland).   To close the miner, you will have to manually either:
use task manager to kill the process for powershell and the open miner app;

or use a method like in my manual/automatic batch to find and close the open process(es).

You will not be able to view the miner app windows/userland data with this second method.  You will have to accept that is you use it, or code in a way to have the app's output written to a file and read from that.

yep, near the end of the month everything left is coming off of coinbase into my hardware wallet.   Ill just use LTC to move funds around if I need to.
1432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 11, 2017, 08:32:49 AM
I sent some requests for the ability for our hardware wallets (specifically ledger) to have access to both chains after the split.  Should be interesting to see if they take this on;  or I wont be using it anymore, possibly not even after the split.

Got an answer back from ledger.  They say they will add the functionality in their chrome plugin to choose what chain its operating on.  In essence, a dual-chain device now.

Interesting.  Waiting to see if they have a timeframe for the functionality to be available...

*edit* I just got the response...

"It should be happening in the coming weeks, the next or the week after basically depending how early Segwit2x activation goes"

Excellent.  This leave some easy options for guys like me who can't exactly download/maintain a blockchain because i'm on a cellular link at near all my sites....

do you have a ledger link to purchase one?
I had no idea such a thing existed...   Is it like a discount/promo code or something?

I like my ledger.  Holds the cold storage =)  Mine was a gift from my mother surprisingly.  She saw it on my amazon WTB list not knowing exactly what it was.

From everything I read so far, it sounds like it's easier to use a 4 PCIE slot mobo with this PCIE multiplier to run 6 cards, than it is to use a 6 PCIE mobo to run 8 cards...

Yeah, in the end, sometimes cheaper if you use something like an x58 board/system

I think something is wrong with the "total earned" number. Its going down.

Payouts roll off after 60 days.

This number gets smaller as profitability drops
1436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 10, 2017, 02:32:50 AM
a few days before the split I am putting all of my BTC into a vanity wallet I generated some time ago.

I will have to download two massive blockchains to recover the funds... but Ill do it.... if I haven't already converted it to fiat or an alt some time before.

I sent some requests for the ability for our hardware wallets (specifically ledger) to have access to both chains after the split.  Should be interesting to see if they take this on;  or I wont be using it anymore, possibly not even after the split.

This is all retarded.  All of it.

Had they just doubled the blocksize, things wouldn't seem near as drastic as the core team makes it out to be.... no joke.

Things are going to crumble a bit.   I think more than a bit....

The core team devs ARE forcing a fork by means of control;  rather than the original agreed upon consensus method.
1437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: July 08, 2017, 09:00:45 AM
im curious what is going to happen when the BTC upgrades, im under the understanding that a new HARD FORK is being created for it....
no joke right there.

If we can't get our way the legit way, we will force it on everyone.....   the core team has lost their minds with this mentality.   Destroying bitcoin.  Going against it's core principles... one as basic as consensus....  It's sad... Truly sad.   They lost a LOT of respect in my eyes.

This hardfork is going to cause some serious waves......
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: USB ASIC for altcoins? on: July 08, 2017, 08:54:45 AM
Any idea what altcoins currently use sha256??

thanks Cheesy
go to zpool.ca and click "Pool" at the top.
Once in that window;  click SHA256 on the right.

It will; now show you all the SHA256 coins that zpool mines.
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: July 08, 2017, 08:11:32 AM
FYI C11 , specifically CHC is getting some market attention... profitability on the rise.

Might want to consider enabling/adding it; My original batch seems to want to gravitate towards it after adding it back earlier because of the news.

Just trying to make sure people get the most profitability on zpool.

cheers.

Nemo,

was curious if there is a simple way to select which GPU's to run? wanted to ask before i go digging through the code, because im still learning this coding stuff... i wanna make a gamer version or gamer start batch so i can using my primary GPU for gaming while i still mine with my other 2 cards on my personal PC when i want to play a video game...

wherein it starts the miner app and assembled the web address/password/port/etc,

specifically for ccminer variants only, you can add the flag:
Code:
-d 0,1
Wherein you will be selecting device 0 and 1.  Use nvidiainspector to confirm device number first, then use those number(s) of the devices you wish to mine with;  seperated by commas as my example above.

You can do as I do, and leave both mining, but trim intensity back on the first device like this:
Code:
-i 16.5,26,26,26
for instance for 16.5 intensity on GPU0, and 26 on GPU1-GPU3.

If you do not define GPU's with the -d flag, you can still set intensity on a per-gpu basis as per my above -i statement.  If you do set the -d flag, its done based off the set GPU's, and not an assumed 0,1,2,etc.

Hope it helps.
1440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: July 03, 2017, 01:36:19 AM
zpool give you a lot less then it show/advertise, so be smart stop using pools as that!

do your own math!

When you are expecting yesterday's profits on today's profitability;  yes, you can see it being less;  especially when profitability was on a downward trend as a lot of alts have been....

I have been doing my own math.

Many people have seen the same results as I have.

They listened and checked when profitability was on the uptick, and rode the wave with me....

Try looking at your spot check numbers in a 24 hour offset;  and you will see more congruence.
