1421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Joe Biden’s Crypto Impact Is Unclear As He Wins Presidency on: November 09, 2020, 08:04:38 PM
Even though nothing is clear at this moment and I am sure nothing else will come up in next 6 months because Joe Biden will look at the priority concerns first.

I agree, right now he's main priority is the pandemic and this is why he's already formed a task decision which needs to come up with a tangible plan for

when he starts office in January. Cryptocurrency and quite understandably is not on his priority list.

However, I'm slightly concerned about how he's going to approach crypto in the future as it is true that he is a democrat and not a young one either. By

definition their opinion on something like BTC may sway in an unfavorable way, through what I guess might be legislation.

Perhaps though the pandemic might lead to a different path given that the economy needs to recover quickly.
1422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reach $20K soon? on: November 09, 2020, 06:09:07 PM
Can we reach $20k before 2021? Maybe, maybe not.
I think the chances are good but we can't guarantee that it will, which is why being speculative is probably the best.

Quote
But one thing's for sure, stop listening to these so-called "analysts" as most of them don't know what they're talking about.

I agree, no "analyst" can foretell what will happen and it can be easy to be mislead by people with biased opinions. Skepticism at time may save you a lot

of stress. So why would you start believing what one person predicts? Just because someone is 'wearing' a particular hat doesn't necessarily mean they

know what they're talking about.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scam? ICO Scam? IEO Scam and Now DeFi Scam? on: November 09, 2020, 04:02:17 PM
Whether it is an ICO, IEO or DeFI project doesn't mean you have got nothing to do on your part. On the contrary, you best research the projects of any of

these categories to see if its worth your investment or not.

Only with the proper knowledge of the project and not blindly adding money into projects you can avoid incurring losses. It is not the fault of the project

but the nature of it to be a scam if that's what it turns out to be. You're at fault.

Just because it's a project with some buzz words don't mean is safe. Due diligence is always a must.
1424  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How btc price correction make things right. And what you should be aware of. on: November 09, 2020, 09:30:42 AM
Just invest in the major coins. You can't go wrong with the likes of BTC, XMR, LTC , and ETH for example.

Don't be afraid of corrections. They always happen and normally after a nice rally. They could always be used to your advantage. That's buying days for all of us. Just don't allow yourself to get carried away by emotions seeing red candles.
Price correction is needed by the people who wants to enter the market at lower price as well to avoid too much crash in the market when the price went too high.

I agree that price correction is necessary even now when we see BTC breaking a new ATH for this year. This is why I expect that the price won't go much higher without there being a decrease where as apart of

the correction will hang on for a couple of days at least.

Why then is price correction necessary for BTC to continue on its ATH trend?

It is because we need to get these fat order books where people place lots of buy orders and that in effect will act as a ledge and a resistance point for further decrease. The reason we expect a larger order book

is because people would want to buy in BTC, specially now that it one again showed some promise and don't want to pay the higher price. Therefore, in anticipation that it will fall to some level people start putting

stop-limit buy orders in. And that's why large resistances back up price correction and vice versa.

1426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain a Good Career? on: November 08, 2020, 05:04:30 PM
It's one of the top 10 careers to choose during these years and for me, it would become and most popular in next few years.

I agree, if you wanted a career in blockchain you will surely not be out of work and be able to have many contractor type jobs. Many institutions, specially

financial ones, are now turning to cryptocurrency. And we all know that you can't have cryptocurrency without a blockchain  Wink

Quote
I just don't know if universities offer a course about it now. It's difficult to find someone expert in that field that is willing to teach in those schools.

By now many countries have recognized the value of blockchain and as such universities around the world have started providing courses for blockchain.

Some of these include renowned universities like Imperial College London, New York University and perhaps no surprise there with the University of Malta
being one of them.

A list of them, can be found here.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do not trade Alts with BTC these days, You will just lose on: November 06, 2020, 08:03:26 PM
Do not trade Alts with BTC these days, You will just lose

I agree that trading BTC for anything else automatically means you're at a loss.

I can't emphasise enough the importance of this. I already know a few people who traded BTC to buy Alts and now all the Alts are doing very poorly and in fact these people are in a much greater loss than they even started with. Don't do the same mistake. Irrespective of how the market plays you should NEVER, ever exchange your BTC for alts no matter what alt it is. Take this advice and you'll do much better than the average person on here  Wink
1428  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto.Games ⭐ 0.8% House Edge on Dice ⭐ Largest wagering contest...ever ⭐ on: November 06, 2020, 05:44:42 PM

May I refer you to this post Wink

Even though their username shows [hidden], it's the same player.. So they already had 4 hits (in 8,060 bets) before these two hits mentioned by @stomachgrowls Wink

Oh great, that is quite some streak. Considering Crypto.Games has only 0.8% house edge, it is one of the best choice if someone wants to chase high roll by making large number of auto-bets of small amount.

There's a school of thought which states that no matter the odds, probability of every event is 50%. It will either happen or it won't. So the probability of hitting 99.99 is equal to hitting 51-99.99 because the roll result is a single number which either would be your choice or it won't (binary world -eh).

Quote
Going by this school of thought, betting in smaller fractions and larger number of bets would actually increase the chance of winning than betting in large fractions and smaller number of bets because all you need is single win before the total bankroll expires in order to make the profit. So smaller the bet size, more chances you will get to hit a single win.

If you think about it, it makes sense. By increasing the spread of bets with small amounts you increase that 50:50 odds more and more in your favour to win. SO there is a good strategy if you have the time to do this rather than spend your pot on one large bet. Crypto.Games with 0.8% house edge and others with a similarly low house edge are a good place to start testing this. Even if it turns out it doesn't work for you at least you know you gave it a go.

If you put this theory to test you'll learn more and more why other casinos aren't so generous with their house-edge, and if when looking at which casino to try out house edge wasn't a factor you checked for, now you get the basic understanding why it is relevant that you take it into consideration.
1429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 05, 2020, 11:53:49 PM
If you can and have the means then go for it. You won't lose your customers as you'll still maintain the mainstream payment systems, you'll just add more flexibility to the way they can pay. What might be difficult to setup especially if you don't have anyone close with the technical background to help you do that but if you're really motivated you can find pay someone to help with that.

What would be challenging aside from the technical stand point and price volatility is the local government regulations. You first need to find out if they allow this or not as you don't want to end up wasting time and effort into building the platform and then pay loads in fines.

1430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for ETH on: November 05, 2020, 08:25:54 PM
BREAKING: The Reserve Bank of Australia exploring potential use of a digital currency (CBDC) that will be powered by the Ethereum blockchain!
Lots of good news, but now bitcoin is dictating the rules. Therefore, we need to build on the Bitcoin trend, because we all know that altcoins rise and fall faster.

I agree. While the news around ETH is great and if CBDC does actually follow through then the network update needs to happen soon. Overall, this will benefit the crypto community with crypto becoming more popular and extending the use of ETH network which will make it a very popular alt.

At the same time, we must live in the present and as previously mentioned right now the attention should be on BTC which is breaking new records high of this year. At the time of this post BTC has broken through the 15k barrier and has been staying in this region for several hours already. We all know what with BTC growing and gaining momentum the alts have no choice but to shrink in volume, price etc.

So best to remain cautious trading these as volatility might eat up all you profits and maybe even all your capital investment.
1431  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲EarnBet.io🎲FREE Faucet❗🎲0.5% House Edge🎲100% Decentralized🎲Provably Fair🎲 on: November 05, 2020, 06:39:41 PM
I tried Earnbet and played the dice game with my xrp. Maybe I'm not really lucky when it comes to gambling. I completely depleted my funds.  Cry
The casino always wins, otherwise they would not be in this business. And the players just pay for the thrill.

Ermmm, yh, there's some truth to the opportunity cost players risk when playing not just dice but literally any game. However, with this aside these are the risks in gambling no matter where you choose to go and play.

The good things about online gambling though is that you can get to try or feel the thrill for free with their faucets or free spins. So even if you feel like you don't want to risk losing your own money there are other ways to entertain yourself. AND this casino in particular offers just that  Wink
1432  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: $100 USD vs $10,000 USD Trading Capital on: November 05, 2020, 03:05:39 PM

  • Bitcoin should account for 70% to 80% of your portfolio.

Super great advice you've given on here for general trading. I really would like to emphasise the importance of portfolio proportion and how BTC should be among the highest.

The reason for reiterating this is that I find it so fundamental to trading that often many people forget or don't think about how the market really is dictated by BTC and as long as you give yourself that higher proportion you can in a more 'safer' way explore the market conditions with the alts while always having that BTC to back you up. It's super important.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Volatility Expected to Rise After the US Presidential Election on: November 05, 2020, 12:45:52 PM
We all agree that in theory the BTC market shouldn't be moved by all of the speculative news, specially now with the US presidential election results coming in.

But the truth of the matter is that BTC is moving, and is moving fast. Whether this is due to this or some other change is uncertain at the moment but one thing is certain, BTC has officially broken the 14.8k. I wouldn't be surprised if it was to touch on 15k today.

1434  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you really need in your trading? on: November 04, 2020, 09:43:52 PM
I don't need any signal provider.

And if there's one strategy that I will be used in trading, I'll stay with the common style through trading alone with my control. It's very effective on my end and I don't have to follow any other's advice although I listen and collect information that I see which will make the market possibly moved.

Copy trading is popular in etoro but I've heard that this isn't that effective, in the long term somehow it is but not for me.

Only newbies might be tempted to get these signals not established traders, and this is the point made above.
When you don't know what you're doing it. makes sense to copy trading from others or use signals that people can subscribe to but when the market is so unpredictable can you even rely on others to pick up the right signals? I think not.

In my opinion, you can't call yourself a trader if you yourself don't have the ability to judge the market on your own, in this manner you'll never get it and wlil always have to rely on other at your own expense. Just doesn't make sense, specially if you're in for the long-term. Best to learn your own way, through good and bad.
1435  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto.Games ⭐ 0.8% House Edge on Dice ⭐ Largest wagering contest...ever ⭐ on: November 04, 2020, 06:10:32 PM
Check out these crazy blackjack bets!!! Some of the wagered amounts are in sane...

Do you expect the wagering and gambling in general to be reduced and people using other cryptos to gamble with now that BTC has gone over 14k?

1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi on: November 04, 2020, 03:26:35 PM
If someone says that Bitcoin is a Ponzi, then he either doesn't know what is a Ponzi, or he has no idea about Bitcoin (or both).

Couldn't have agreed more. What type of person would come to this conclusion after reading so much about BTC. Clearly no reading was involved  Angry

It is clear that whoever thinks this is not literate at all about BTC and never will, as it shows the lack of motivation to learn.

If you think BTC is a scam then don't get involved or spread rumours that it might be.

The meme below captures this in very simple terms.

1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of the top 10 btc wallets hacked? on: November 04, 2020, 10:09:14 AM
They write that this wallet was passed between hackers for about two years.
Here's a tweet message. https://twitter.com/UnderTheBreach/status/1303316723186139136?s=20
And there are also suggestions that the owner is Ross Ulbricht.
From the same wallet, they write that Bitcoin Cash was withdrawn https://www.blockchain.com/bch/address/1HQ3Go3ggs8pFnXuHVHRytPCq5fGG8Hbhx

This is all interesting news, and it is great that we got it firsthand on here. Now it seems that this is starting to get coverage. As of now this is the latest update on this (here). However, the info is quite limited and I expect there's only a matter of time until this gets a full media coverage.

According to this other than Ross Ulbricht being the founder of Silk Road otherwise known as the 'dark market' and in jail there's yet no other link to him and the possibility that this might have been his wallet.
What would be prudent right now is to watch the market for a dump  Undecided
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safeguarding funds , your funds on exchanges are safe? on: November 03, 2020, 09:04:08 PM
As a trader you have no choice but to take risk on putting your money in exchanges even if you know hackers are just there waiting for their moment because the fees will eat all your capital if you do a lot of transactions from your wallet to another wallet.

This whole exchange hacking system is so cumbersome to traders  Lips sealed But in essence if you're a trader you need to face reality and thats the risk of losing money is something was to go wrong. I understand that having most of your money in cold wallet is safest but the issue with doing this is the impracticality of it.  Transferring funds across is also quite expensive specially if you do that with BTC but I suppose better to lose that in fees than lose it all.

I'm not demeaning the importance of assets' safe keeping on cold wallets I'm just frustrated at how much harder it is to do that, and as a trader that is a bit impractical. However, one can only decide what's best for ourselves!
1439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Payments Giant Paypal Says Its Customers Can Now Buy and Sell Bitcoin on: November 03, 2020, 08:26:54 PM
it definitely is the type of news that could bring some hype to bitcoin market for a little while but the importance of the news is very little because it only becomes important when they allow their users to dump their paypal dollar to buy bitcoin and then withdraw those bitcoins to their cold storages. otherwise when they only allow them to store coins in their paypal wallet and never cash out, that doesn't mean anything.

I agree that having Paypal back up the system at least for buying and storing on their wallet is going to momentarily stir up some fluctuations in the BTC market, perhaps even help it jump over the new resistance point.

However, the point made earlier about this being a small step towards increasing awareness and adoption of crypto makes total sense. There won't be much long term benefits of this news if Paypal doesn't allow transaction flows between fiat to BTC and withdrawal as crypto.

In line with this and a more optimistic mind set would probably say that this is only a matter of time as loading too much at a time might scare off the 'average' customer. I suppose we will have to wait and see.
1440  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto exchange with lowest fees to withdraw USD (Fiat)? on: November 03, 2020, 06:04:48 PM

I'm eager to know if there's any other exchange that offers lower fees than Coinbase for cashing out Fiat (USD) to my bank account. The one exchange with the lowest fees available will be my top pick for all of my crypto endeavors. If you could help me with this, I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance. Smiley

IN terms of withdrawal fee Coinbase isn't my first choice. Poloniex, Kraken are much better options. Below is a list from two sources that can help you compare what the rates.

Not all the exchanges might have the fee (like Coinbase in the second source) but can be compensated from other sources, at least it gives an overall understanding of the different options available.
