You can when you won a huge amount
There's a discussion here of a guy who won a huge amount but added that he is quitting gambling is it really possible, anyone here have done quitting after winning a huge amount

The guy, who "won a huge amount, but is quitting gambling" is most likely spamming the forum with low quality threads.
I don't believe that he won anything and I don't believe that he is quitting gambling(maybe he isn't gambling at all).
Trying to quit gambling after winning a big amount of money must be extremely difficult. I'm sure that a lot more people quit gambling after losing money, rather than after winning.
Trying to quit gambling because you wife told you so seems hilarious to me. It seems that some men are total simps. Grin
Your wife having total control over your life is something you should be worried about.
No wonder that the words "life" and "wife" look so similar in the English language.
1422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prime Minister of UK - A crypto believer on: October 31, 2022, 05:14:22 AM
"Crypto believer" is one thing, "Bitcoin believer" is a different thing, despite the fact that Bitcoin is crypto. Grin
Elon Musk is a supposed to be a "crypto believer", if you think that dogecoin is an actual cryptocurrency. Grin
People like Roger Ver and Craig Wright are also "crypto believers", which is hilarious.
The new British prime minister being a crypto believer doesn't mean anything to me. He won't make Bitcoin a legal tender in the UK for sure.
Don't expect this news to bring any kind of benefit for the crypto community in the UK or the crypto supporters around the globe.

The UK makes most of its income from banking/finance and it would be mad to drive crypto users away.

I never knew that most of the people in the UK are working as bank clerks. Ha ha ha... Grin

Wood prices for heating have been booming in my country(EU). I've ordered wood for heating at the low 2021 price levels and I'm still for my order to get fulfilled.
The wood prices going up is just pure FUD and speculation. The people got scared due to the natural gas price explosion and the constant fear of a "cold winter" being spread over the mainstream media. Everyone started buying wood for heating and the prices went up 3x.
Now the natural gas prices in my country are going down and winter won't be that cold. We have enough wood in the forests, so I don't think that wood is scarce where I live. Everything is just speculation BS and FUD and many idiots are going to buy overpriced wood this winter.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data on: October 30, 2022, 06:59:24 AM
What do you mean by "gambling house"? Do you mean casino? Grin Are you talking about online casinos or offline casinos?
I don't know about any online casinos revealing the identity of the players, who won big amounts. Do you have any info about such practice?
I remember that a big lottery game in my country was revealing the names and faces of the lottery winners years ago.
The winners were required by the lottery to reveal their identities for advertising purposes(proving that the lottery is legit).
Anyway, the lottery game was banned for cheating and showing TV commercials with "jackpot winners" who didn't won the jackpot.
No gambler or jackpot winner must reveal his/her identity without his/her permission.
1425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pres.Nayib Bukele: Stop Drinking the Elite’s Kool-Aid on: October 30, 2022, 06:12:22 AM
Ah, yes. Bitcoin is the ultimate alternative against "the powers that be", but at the same time 90% of the Bitcoin traders/investors want more regulations from the same "powers that be"(central banks, governments), which would lead to wider crypto adoption and higher BTC prices.
We are against "the powers that be", the rich elites and the institutional investors, but at the same time, we want the rich elites and the institutional investors to adopt BTC, so that the BTC price could reach the moon. Isn't this hilarious?
Bukele is a politician, which means that he is a professional liar(like all politicians). I don't expect any politician to tell me the truth.
1426  Economy / Economics / Re: Why exactly did Elon want to buy Twitter? on: October 28, 2022, 06:30:00 AM
Money aren't the main motivator. Social media platforms aren't very profitable and their stocks are overpriced.
Elon Musk is driven by his own ego. He wants to be in the spotlight. He wants the people to like him and talk about him 24/7. Maybe he's turning into a narcissist or maybe he keeps trolling everyone.
Meta is going  downhill. Instagram is trying to become the new TikTok and the IG users hate that. Facebook has become "grandma's favorite social media" and the young people ran away from FB years ago.
Maybe Musk wants to make Twitter "great again", by reducing the amount of censorship and trying to gather more republican/conservative/right-wing users, who keep complaining about the progressive-liberal "big tech" corporations trying to silence them.
1427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Consider the Price of Bitcoin to be More Important than its Purpose? on: October 28, 2022, 05:44:21 AM
Both the price and the purpose of Bitcoin are important. The question is, to what extent are they important for the different kinds of Bitcoiners.
For the BTC traders/investors, the price is more important than the purpose. For the unbanked people living in poor countries, the purpose is more important than the price.
The true purpose of Bitcoin (being p2p electronic cash) isn't important at all for the people, who keep their BTC on centralized exchanges.
Those people are the majority of the Bitcoin users around the world. This is the sad truth.
I would say that there is a Pareto distribution, when it comes to the importance of both the price and the purpose. It's like 80/20.
80% is the BTC price and 20% is the purpose of BTC. That's how the people view Bitcoin.
1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 27, 2022, 11:10:28 AM
Barcelona needs to get rid of the veterans like Busquets and Pique. They did a great job in the last 10 years for the club, but they can't maintain their top performance from 10 years ago. Barcelona needs more physical strength in the middle. Pedri is a really talented player, but he's short and skinny. Keeping Lewandowski and Dembele for the next season is crucial. I don't know why Barcelona sold Aybameyang, maybe because of the financial difficulties the Catalonian club is facing. Aybameyang and Lewandowski would have been a great attacking duo.
I'm also sad that Atletico Madrid missed the chance to win against Leverkusen. That missed penalty at the end was ridiculous.
1429  Economy / Economics / Re: Can A Redesign of A Countries Currency Note Improve Its Economy? on: October 27, 2022, 10:34:23 AM
The only benefit of redesigning the banknotes would be increasing the level of security and lowering the amount of counterfeit banknotes currently being in circulation. I'm not an expert on Nigerian economy and finances, but I don't think that there are that many counterfeit Nigerian naira in circulation. The criminals would be making way more money by counterfeiting US dollars and euro, not Nigerian naira.

1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling techniques on: October 27, 2022, 05:49:54 AM
I would like to have you guys speaking about different gambling techniques so that we can exchange knowledge and improve our winning chances.

I'll leave my simple technique here and I'll hope you guys can leave some more!

I often use the stake doubling technique to several games. I normally do this with dice games and if it played correctly its profitable. What you have to do is simply start with a small stake and every time you lose you double your steak until you win. Once you win, you will recover all the amount you lost. This works if you have enough money to keep doubling your bet, so you should do your math and check with how much you should start. It is not infallible but it works.

Improving our winning changes? Are you kidding me? You know that the casino always wins at the end, right?
You are a legendary member, but your way of thinking seems the same as a newbie, who gambled on a casino for the first time. This is weird.
There's no such thing as "gambling techniques". The "technique" you are describing is martingale and every gambler in the world has tried this "technique" for the last 100 years without any long term success.
Gambling "techniques" cannot increase your chances of winning, because the luck factor cannot be changed. What if you double bet loses?
What if you next double bet after the previous doubled bet loses? Keep losing until you run out of money?
1431  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: October 27, 2022, 05:29:09 AM
Seems the bear market is likely going soonest. Congratulations in advance to those who bought low and those hodling for a long time. There is likely going to be a new all time high to be achieved before this year comes to an end. If you can, fill up your bag but do your own research.

What do you all think about the sudden bounce back and price increase on Bitcoin of lately?

The Bitcoin price increased by a thousand dollars and the newbies say that the bear market is over. Grin This is a newbie thing to do.
How many times the Bitcoin price went above 20K USD in the last couple of weeks? More than once. Was there a significant bull run? Nope.
Can you backup your theory about new ATH coming soon with some facts or a proper analysis? I don't think so.
A new Bitcoin ATH is going to be reached in 2025. Nobody and nothing could possibly make me change my mind.
1432  Economy / Economics / Re: Not financial advise. Just an example. on: October 26, 2022, 10:54:53 AM
Don't pay anything and just declare personal bankrupt/default. Many countries around the world have such option for the citizens to declare a personal default, if they can't payoff their debts. I don't know if your case scenario is real or just a theoretical example.
You can't payoff all that credit card debt with only 80 dollars per month. That's impossible. If you start paying off the debts on one credit card, the other four credit cards will charge you additional higher interest rates for not paying on time. Your overall debt will keep growing, even when you pay small amounts on one credit card. This seems more like a "debt spiral". Going bankrupt is the only way.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 26, 2022, 06:17:09 AM
Glorious victory for Benfica against Juventus. The Italian team has lots of good players, but the squad lacks confidence. I guess that Juventus needs a new coach.
Real Madrid and Manchester City already qualified for the next round, so playing without motivation and not winning their matches yesterday wasn't a surprise. Dinamo Zagreb couldn't compete with AC Milan and I'm sure that AC Milan will follow Chelsea in the eliminations phase.
Can't wait to see Barcelona vs. Bayern. The Catalonian team will have to beg for mercy.
Brugge vs. Porto is another interesting game. The Belgian team has a really good performance in this year's season of the Champions League.
Perhaps Brugge can achieve something big and reach the quarter-finals.
1434  Other / Archival / Re: Most investors think regulation is a good thing on: October 26, 2022, 05:47:17 AM
The institutional investors are tied to the fiat money system. They can't untie. Dumping the fiat system and choosing an alternative would simply mean that the institutional investors would lose the support of the central banks and the governments, which will kill their business.
The more crypto looks like fiat money, the more institutional investors will get interested into investing in crypto. The problem is that cryptocurrencies will lose their true nature, if they simply turn into another form of fiat money.
The current situation in terms of global crypto regulation seems enough balanced. Any more regulations regarding the mandatory declaration of cold wallets and/or dumping PoW coins would simply destroy the balance. This means that crypto will turn into "fiat 2.0" and the institutional investors might like it, but the true crypto supporters, who want decentralization would be repulsed by the new regulations.
1435  Economy / Economics / Re: EU solution to energy crisis: print more money and ensure economic crisis! on: October 25, 2022, 10:48:06 AM
What's the point of this forum post? Crying and whining about the European central bank's monetary policies?
The natural gas prices in Europe actually went down recently, because the European gas storage facilities are filled up to 90%.
The European Union imports a tiny amount of Russian gas right now. The expectations of a global recession pushed the oil/gas prices down, so the OPEC countries decided to lower their oil production. The EU inflation rates will start lowering in 2023-2024, when the EU economy adapts to the new supply chains and the newly found "gas independence" from Russia.
I know that the European central bank reacts really slow to the inflation, but increasing the interest rates will create problems with certain countries to pay off their debts(Italy, Greece, etc.).
1436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won 9600$ in dice by mistake on: October 25, 2022, 06:26:27 AM
- You are lucky that the casino platform allowed you to withdraw such a large amount without requiring any KYC from you. Because often the complaint of gamblers who make a topic here in the forum is that their accounts are locked without any opposition, but it's the opposite of you.

That's quite a large amount, to be honest. It's rare among gamblers to take home such a win that apart from the huge amount, no KYC has been requested from the winning gambler himself.

Did OP really withdraw his earnings? I can't see a valid proof of a successful withdraw. The second image link shows deposits, not withdrawals.
This forum post seems more like an Advertisement for bc.game. Grin OP, you can prove that this is your account? Screenshots can be faked with inspect element. If I win 9.6K USD out of a 200 USD bet, the last thing I would do is to take screenshots of my casino account.  Grin I would be so happy that I will forget to do such thing (and I hate bragging about making money).
Anyway, congratulations for your winnings (if your story is actually true).
1437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think China will lose by banning Bitcoin? on: October 25, 2022, 05:56:28 AM
The only thing that China is losing is potential tax income. Many people in China are still using crypto, but they are trying as hard as they can to hide it from the government officials. If crypto was legal, a big portion of those people would declare their crypto income and pay taxes for it. I don't want to discuss the potential benefits of the blockchain technology, because such benefits are yet to be discovered.
Another thing that China lost is the ability to influence the cryptocurrency markets. Remember when more than 50% of crypto mining was located in China and every FUD news coming from there had an immediate impact over the crypto prices. Grin I'm glad that this is over.
1438  Economy / Economics / Re: 76% of Adults are Making Lifestyle Changes to Prepare for a Potential Recession on: October 24, 2022, 12:13:30 PM
The upcoming recession might be stagflation, which means recession+inflation. However, the chance of having a stagflation crisis isn't that big.
I can't imagine how the working class people would survive losing their jobs and having to deal with increasing food prices at the same time.
The governments aren't prepared for fighting recession/stagflation. The national debts are at historical levels and the interest rates are growing globally, which means that getting new debt will become more expensive. Mortgages and consumer debt will also become more expensive. Nobody is fully prepared for a crisis, but let's not panic and let's not believe in the massive FUD. The winter is going to be hard, but the next spring/summer might be a better period.
1439  Other / Archival / Re: What casinos are safe on: October 24, 2022, 06:24:53 AM
Hey here. I want to try myself in casino playing, but I am really afraid of being scammed. Few years ago I lost a huge amount of money that I saved for a long time..

1.If you are so afraid of losing money, why don't you just play gambling games that don't require betting actual money?
There are plenty of games available for free on Android and iOS and AFAIK there are some browser games that can be played on PC.
2.If you are so afraid of getting scammed, just bet small amounts on the online casinos. You will be fine, unless you lose your self-control and start betting big amounts. Just check out which online casinos have good online reviews and also which online reviews are genuine.
If you are still afraid of getting scammed, I can't help you. Grin
1440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation really inevitable? on: October 24, 2022, 05:58:29 AM
I think that there is a misunderstanding of the term "regulation".
The governments trying to regulate the crypto industry is one thing. The governments trying to destroy your privacy and achieve complete control and transparency over your assets is a completely different thing. This doesn't seem like regulation to me. It seems more like dictatorship.
Of course, all this BS comes with good intentions. Fighting tax evasion and money laundering. Lowering the amount of crypto scams, etc.
The battle against total government control is inevitable. Trying to protect your privacy will become more and more difficult in the future and you might be facing consequences.
