I would say that 10 x 10$ is better.

Would you choose the $10 plan over the others listed on this page:

Just keep it running, ur node will push blocks and transactions.

Even if there is no account number?  Can I get an account number without running the GUI client?

Chose bandwidth for private node and RAM+bandwidth for public one.

Is it better to set up 10 nodes at $10/month or 1 node at $100/month?

Is this OK:

Is there a way to be sure your node is aiding the network?  Maybe a populated active peers list indicates this?  If I can be sure, I will set up more nodes.

Should a node maximize CPU, RAM, or bandwidth?

I'm trying to set up a VPS node.  I followed the instructions here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4103726#msg4103726

The last message I've seen is:

WARN:oejh.HttpParser:qtp1902432947-18: badMessage: java.lang.IllegalStateException: too much data after closed for HttpChannelOverHttp@ee15b1f{r=1,a=IDLE,uri=-}

Is that sufficient to aid the network?  I haven't created an Nxt account number.  Can I do that without opening the GUI client?  If not, is there any way to do that from a cloud VPS?  I can't install the client on my own system until it is open-sourced.

not sure, either it's too little ram or something software related, need to ask CfB. how much ram did you get? make it 1 gb ram if possible.

Yes, it's 1GB RAM:

# free -h
total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:          1.0G       896M       106M         0B        41M       638M
-/+ buffers/cache:       216M       786M
Swap:           0B         0B         0B

If someone can confirm that the VPS I set up above (0.4.2) is aiding the network (I have no Nxt account number) then I will set up more of them.  I can see there is some network traffic.

What would be the most efficient way to bolster the Nxt network?  Set up a whole bunch of VPS servers each running the wallet with 1NXT?

What are the most crucial non-coding obstacles for Nxt?

1) more nodes to mitigate DDOS attacks
2) distribute the currency as evenly as possible

Are there others?  Can anything be done about #2?

big stakeholders

How much Nxt does a big stakeholder have?

the rich guys buying up is believable, yet still, its a very stupid way to be buying coins lol.

Why is buying on dgex.com stupid?
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 22, 2013, 06:26:07 PM
I suggest that the source code is released earlier if at all possible.  Some stakeholders won't run it otherwise.

The "nodes" that we need more of, are they basically systems running the wallet?

I love that quote.

I've been doing little else besides researching altcoins for the last week or two and Nxt is my pick of the whole bunch.  Qualitative determinations are my specialty.  I'm not very good at quantitative estimates so I can't give you a number.

The numbers everyone is throwing around here seem to be much lower than those on dgex.com.  Why would anyone sell here instead of there?

You pay 1,4% in dgex when you want to cashout BTC. Also you have low volume there.

There must be more to it than that.  Am I missing something?
