How can I trade equity of Factom Inc.?
no, you cannot trade equity in Factom Inc. because it is private equity. aka completely illiquid until after an IPO. What if the company never IPOs and is neither sold in a private transaction?

I thought smart contracts and Ethereum scripting compatibility were separate features that could exist independently of each other. No?

I have a background in software and I've spent an obscene amounts of time researching alts over the past year or so. At this point I have a very good understanding of the scene, the software, and its application/implementation. XCP has been my #1 investment pick for a long time, but there are others. Please PM me if you'd like to discuss favorite picks (if we discuss them here we'll look like a bunch of pumpers).
I'm only posting this in this thread because I figure anyone picking XCP most likely has other excellent picks as well.

deliciousowl, I believe the protocol is still being actively developed, correct?

What does Counterparty use now instead of OP_RETURN? It sounds like this change won't enable any new functionality (that anyone has proposed yet) but will make for a healthier Bitcoin/Counterparty network.
when not using OP_RETURN, bare multisig is used Is that why Counterwallet can be so wonky?

Using OP_RETURN encoding is pruneable, and generally a lot less hackish. As eustress said, it's essentially Counterparty/Bitcoin doing their mutual parts to cooperate on a more intuitive level.

OK, it sounds like it's not an unexpected change so not "news" per-se.

And what percentage bump in price do you expect at that point?

Can people monitor known exchange addresses to know when a large amount of coin is moving in to likely be dumped?

This is incredible. Can any of the Counterparty Protocol Developers comment on this great development? It sounds like a good thing but since Counterparty is functional with 40 bytes, what does the extra space do for us?

Do Factom Inc investors have an opportunity to sell their shares if the company does not go public and is not otherwise sold?
|
|
|
They are refusing to help because they "no longer support migrations".

So with Tokenly you send BTC to an address and the token you purchased is automatically sent to the address you sent the BTC from?
Yes looks like it, from the Tokenly bot: After receiving one of those token types, this bot will wait for 2 confirmations and return tokens to the same address.Sounds dangerous. Isn't it sometimes hard to say which address your wallet will send from?

I'm interested in investing in Factom Inc and I'm curious how the investment is designed to pay off for those who buy in. Information on the investment website is difficult to digest.

the patched bitcoind we use
Is a bitcoind patch required to run counterpartyd?

I bought a small amount of XRP a long time ago and have since lost the username/password or whatever it was I was supposed to keep. I know the exact amount of XRP and exactly when I transferred it from the exchange to a Ripple wallet. I've contacted Ripple about this and they say there is nothing they can do without the private key which I don't have. I thought they might be able to help since Ripple has some centralized aspects. Am I out of luck?

Is there any way to move CHA? Is there a wallet?

Bitcoin is a better form of cash. It is more secure than paper money, but it is still cash. In all security contexts it must be considered to be like cash.
Exactly, and having so much cash is dangerous.

Same here. Related to the BTC fork?
