1441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: November 19, 2016, 09:08:41 AM
what a sweet win for raptors, i bet with 1.70 odd inside the overtime good job waiting for spurs and lakers game, this young guns of lakers really making some hard time for spurs let see how coach pop will adjust in the second half.

I could hardly count that as a "sweet" win... The Raps should not have struggled that much with the Nuggets. It's frustrating to watch them sometimes because I feel like they have a trend of heavily under-performing against weaker teams for whatever reason. But hey, you hit your bet haha Cheesy .

And I agree, the Lakers youth are looking solid. Randle and D'angelo are gonna be two scary dudes in the next couple years, can't wait to see them develop!
1442  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: RE-OPENED! MyBitMine.co | New Type Of Faucet | Get Bitcoin From Playing on: November 19, 2016, 08:44:09 AM
I'd been a pretty big fan of this faucet since its inception, so its really cool to see this thing back up and running. Hopefully all the kinks and issues will be resolved soon, definitely gonna be getting back into this.

Best of luck running things around here!

As proud as I am of the Raps.... That really hurt  Cry
1444  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = 1000$ in 2016 on: May 27, 2016, 03:45:46 AM
I prefer to use my Canadian dollar because it makes the bitcoin price seem more impressive. Though it's not so great for buying...
1445  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: May 27, 2016, 03:36:58 AM
I think a lot of people see bitcoin as a sort of "stock," where they just want to buy and sell according to price changes and nothing more. I don't see this concept of price associated with bitcoin going away anytime soon, simply because it provides a way for people to turn a virtual asset into real, current money, and keeping it is always a risk because of the uncertainty of its direction. I think a worldwide switch to bitcoin would be mainly driven by a social cause, not so much economic, and that can be hard to get behind for most people.
1446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ready for bitcoin halving? on: May 27, 2016, 03:03:51 AM
How much of an effect do you realistically think the halving will have and what do you predict the future price will settle at? (Assuming that there is a spike in price a couple months after the halving, followed by a pretty large dump). It seems it would have to be higher than current prices for mining to remain profitable, but by how much?
1447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 26, 2016, 11:12:01 PM
Yesterday was pretty painful to watch, hopefully we rebound at home.  Jurassic park is gonna get wild.

Regardless of a win or loss, we've got a lot to be proud of in our Raptors
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 26, 2016, 03:25:54 AM
My Raps will get this Game 7 win, and our streets will be on fire  Cheesy

Also hoping the Warriors make an epic comeback, I'd hate to see one of the most dominant teams in history go out like this.
1449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and PayPal together? on: January 18, 2016, 07:56:09 AM
Yeah, whether they like it or not, they are going to have to discuss it and acknowledge it one way or another. It's cool to see that these bigger companies are slowly starting to see bitcoin as a serious prospect of future technology.
1450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and PayPal together? on: January 18, 2016, 12:35:46 AM
While I'm seeing the benefit this could bring for bitcoin, I'm still having some struggles understanding what benefit PayPal gets from this? Unless they somehow charge and take in money off bitcoin transactions through them, would they not potentially be losing customers?
1451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and PayPal together? on: January 17, 2016, 06:52:34 AM
Stay positive, I think maybe they just want to make Bitcoin better. And however, no one will take Bitcoin down.

I don't think they have any intention to make it better, I don't see how they benefit from that. And while they may not take it down, afaik people complain about PayPal being relatively slow and having high fees for transactions, so they may try to implement a bitcoin-like system to make quick, cheap transactions that deal in fiat. Maybe they will try to get people to switch from bitcoin to PayPal and become dominant again

Nope, it won't happen to Bitcoin users. We know that Bitcoin is better than PayPal, that's why whatever happens we won't leave Bitcoin.

I feel like that's true for people who are either truly invested in bitcoin or are passionate about its cause and its technology. But there are plenty of people who are uncertain about bitcoin and countless numbers that have lost trust in it because of their experiences with some of its users.
1452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and PayPal together? on: January 17, 2016, 06:44:21 AM
Unless they take off limiting crap away and ability to make a chargeback dispute on 180 days period ... they can't take down anything , not bitcoin and not anything else.
Bitcoin is being held back on chargebacks as well imo. I think there would be many more people using bitcoin if they could obtain them by using PayPal funds. Mining isn't really an option for many, and I think there are people that are not entirely comfortable linking their bank to stuff like this
1453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and PayPal together? on: January 17, 2016, 06:42:31 AM
Pretty sure PayPal is bigger than bitcoin in terms of user (I think). Bitcoin still has some issues it has to floss out both technically and in the public view before it is really ready for widespread use.

1455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: January 17, 2016, 04:40:38 AM
Are there any cloud mining sites that have real profits? With bitcoin prices at a long-time high right now, I figure they'll drop and so it would be pointless getting into that now. That aside, assuming that the prices remain relatively constant, do any sites have the opportunity to make an actual profit?
1456  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Today 2 big sites have died. on: January 17, 2016, 04:35:37 AM
Ore-mine was visually unappealing and looked like it was a scam that someone put together in an hour  Cheesy

What happened to the sites though?
1457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and PayPal together? on: January 17, 2016, 04:33:37 AM
So I recently heard that the guy who started up Xapo was appointed to the board of directors at PayPal, which I think is a very interesting move, since they are competitors. The thing is, I'm confused as to their motives. I figured that they could perhaps be wanting to bring someone on to help integrate bitcoin into their system (which I think is unlikely) or they want to bring someone in who would help them "beat" bitcoin. What's your take on this?
1458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 17, 2016, 04:25:55 AM
I'm still feeling the Warriors beating the Bulls' 95-96 record this season, despite the slight decline in performance recently. Statistically, they're on track to have a better season, if you look at percentage of games won overall  Cheesy
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a difference between buying shares in the stock exchange and gambling? on: November 15, 2015, 08:30:18 AM
Gambling is pure luck, and while this is true for stocks, there's a degree of certainty about them as well. You can predict changes fairly accurately in most cases, or invest in long term stocks that pay dividends, so there is a sense of security and safety in this investment. Gambling is mad fun though  Cheesy
1460  Economy / Gambling / Re: UFC 193 Predictions: Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm on: November 15, 2015, 08:27:15 AM
That was absolutely insane! There's something about Ronda that rubs me the wrong way, but she's an incredible fighter. Still, seeing her KO'd like that brought a certain level of satisfaction
