1463  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What % of an entire Bitcoin is 1 millibitcoin mBTC on: January 20, 2015, 10:32:11 AM
Just wondering because someones charging $2 per mBTC

do the thinking for me, only half my brain works Wink

post BTC address for tipping on good explanation

Well, milli is a prefix equal to 10^-3 or 0.001

1% is equal to 0.01

Thus  1 mBTC must be equal to 0.1% of 1 BTC

Edit:
1 mBTC is worth $0.21 at this moment.

That is a very nice set, hope to win this one Smiley

I bid 0.4 BTC

Your still on my list if the balance due is not paid on #9 by Friday. If nothing else i may give you a sneak peak of my personal 2014 collection that i made for myself and let you purchase something out of there. Or i can make you a plaque or really anything else you want.

That sounds great Smiley

In any case you have already given me (and the community) a lot.
I enjoy studying each of the pieces and finding the small details and the thinking about the meaning of the theme.
Before November 2015 I had no idea about the existence of Artisan craftsmanship.

I may even work out a trade with you for a little development work, i am putting together a project soon for "POO Chain" (proof of ownership) based on bitcoin tech using a blockchain. basically a client that runs on a network that has public notes, allowing artists to assign ownership of a piece to someone and using a base 58 public key or address to sign the work, Thus, when the artist sends a small amount of whatever i call the unit of measurement from their registered artist address, to the address on record for the particular art piece. it shows that it was in fact made by the artist.

When helping a few clients from the forum get their art pieces insured, the insurance company LOVED that i used an encrypted private key / public key system on the CoA as it makes it literally impossible to forge with todays computing technology. They even gave my clients a discount on the insurance as the liability on the forgery coverage went down to 0.001% risk assessment.

That is a great idea. It also emphasize that "the blockchain" is properly one of the most important inversion of this century. People tends to focus on the dollar exhange price of bitcoin, but forget about the importance of the technology behind.

I would love to work with you, just send me a PM when you want to get started, then will I share my ideas on the topic, we might need to assemble a team to this type of development, but that should not be hard to find the right people in this community, with all the altcoins around there must be programmers which can implement "our specification" with their eyes closed.

BTC was $400 when he paid. So more like $18.

What a bargain. I am still regretting that I did not commission on of these 9 coins  Cry

Man, can I be your apprentice or something-I'll work for free!

I wont be taking on an apprentice for a while, but when i do it will have a $500,000 price tag. There are under 100 Master Artisan Wood Carvers in the world and it requires 20 years to become a Master Artisan as well as doing your journeyman study as an apprentice of a Master Artisan. The price may sound steep but a Master Artisan makes 20 times that a year. There are a lot of great wood carvers in the world, but a single piece from a Master Artisian fetches 5-10 times that of a hobbyist, and after completing a journeyman study a Junior Artisan can make that money back within a year just having studied under one of the masters.

How many years does the journeyman study as an apprentice of the Master Artisan?

But the odd thing is there aint much competency needed to take coins put them in a box and ship them to person A, B, C...etc. Likely not Mike's fault from the looks of it.
I know and like I said, I'm not blaming Mike, I'm blaming Stryde for failing to put a coin in a box, slapping an address on it and sending it out.

Agreed. I am not blaming Mike for anything, still a big fan.

I would just appeal that he would sell the coins from his own webpage or here on the forum next time he release a coin. I know this is s football coin, so it is properly part of the deal that stryde have the rights to sell the coin. Nevertheless I will hesitate by ordering from Stryde again, I had problem in pretty much every step of the process... I am expecting nothing less that my coins has actually been tossed around like football before it was placed in the slap and shipped to me.
1472  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2014 Casascius St. Petersburg Bowl Bitcoin Coin on: January 19, 2015, 08:06:37 AM
I feel you guys. I ordered mine on the 4th of January and it's still not shipped. The two weeks have already passed and I think that this is ridiculous. Even Chinese ship stuff faster (within 10 business days and 70% of the time it's after 1 business day).

4th Jan.. pffft
I ordered the 24th Dec 2014, no sign of the coins yet, the order is stated as complete, but no tracking has been provided, so I have no idea where my coins are.

1473  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Escrow list on: January 18, 2015, 08:58:52 AM
As of January 2015, I no longer have the time available to give escrow the attention necessary to provide a quality service.  As such, until further notice, I am no longer available to handle escrow.

Sorry to hear, but fully understandable.
I hope you will be back when you have more time, quality of service is the exact reason that you are one of my favorite escrows.

I was referring to coins mined in the <$3 range, which was the last time I saw people as fearful as they are now.

Do you have any virgin coins left?

WOW it is beautiful!

My first thought was "this is not purple heart wood", and correct, it was some kind of new exotic wood I never heard about before.
Who would have thought that bitcoin would give me knowledge of wood Cheesy
