1481  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Departamento de Finanças de NY investigando a Paxos (emissora da BUSD) on: February 10, 2023, 12:27:11 AM
https://www.theblock.co/post/210370/paxos-facing-probe-by-new-york-regulator-coindesk

1482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: February 10, 2023, 12:19:07 AM
AlphaTauri is not very eager to launch its car for the next season this year, it seems to me.
For now they have limited themselves to teasing their fans with just an image of some details of the car on their social networks....
That photo of the tire with a very "different" design and color compared to the 2022 is totally irrelevant.

It is promised for this Saturday (the 11th) the presentation of the AT04 with a new painting, but is that all?

Like other automakers, AlphaTauri also has a new master sponsor (Orlen). But it seems to me that it's really a big change, the only thing I see is the departure of Pierre Gasly for the arrival of Nyck de Vries.
1483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'or Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 10, 2023, 12:09:59 AM
This is a place where you can predict the best player of the year
Player that will win balloon d'or of the year.

This year we will have a very difficult decision, I still have a lot of doubts between three players: Messi, Haaland and Mbappé.

Something that will greatly influence the decision this year is the period of evaluation of the players, since it will be restricted to the time that the official European season takes place, between July of one year and July of the other. In practice this means that in this edition the individual plays of the players in the Qatar World Cup will be evaluated by the prize winner.
There was also a drastic reduction in the jury from 170 (last year) to 100 representatives that year.

Even more important...
New evaluation criteria were adopted, and the individual performance of the players will prevail over the results obtained by their clubs. So, the fair play of the players will have an added weight in the definition of the winner of the Ballon d'Or.
Which in my opinion is fair enough.

Among so many changes, this year's winner may be a big surprise, but I'm still betting on one of the three I mentioned at the beginning of my post.
1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What most gamblers do. on: February 10, 2023, 12:00:25 AM
I want to ask a question. And I need serious answer from this forum, and my question is WHY DOES A GAMBLER DON'T HAVE A SAVINGS.
In my country (Nigeria) there are many gamblers who don't have savings and it isn't help matters at all. Most of these gamblers can't afford for there families but they can afford money they will use to gamble. So why are they not having savings that they can use to help there families in time of lack. Like they said, we save money so money can save us tomorrow. But these gamblers doesn't know that.

While many people say there are three ways to handle money: conservative, moderate and aggressive, I have a slightly different view.
For me there are three different types of people who handle their money: savers, investors and gamblers.

I've never met a person who really manages to practice more than one of these "skills" at the same time, they're things that don't mix.

Someone who is always involved in gambling has a more risky lifestyle, is always looking for "easy money" or trying to satisfy himself with the pleasures that money provides.

Eu acredit oque possa ocorrer o inverso.

1487  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Integração do Bing e chatGPT.

1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2023 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: February 09, 2023, 12:37:56 AM
It's already February, did anyone here think that the Brasileirão teams already had their teams "closed"? If so, then they were mistaken.
From what I've been following, some important changes ended up being made official and there are also a lot of rumors of other transfers that could change the team's picture for the next edition of the championship.
Follow...

Calebe: Confirmed the sale by Atlético-MG to Fortaleza for R$ 6 million in order to get 50% of the player's economic rights;

Vina: Rumors say that he will leave Ceará, but it is still speculated whether he will go to Grêmio or Fluminente;

Andrey Santos: Yeap... Vasco has already sold him to Chelsea, but the player is having problems getting a work visa and could be loaned to a Brazilian team until that is resolved. The best possibilities for now are with Palmeiras or Corinthians.

Do you know anything else?
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 09, 2023, 12:23:46 AM
Gambling has become an everyday thing for some people and this act has lead to serious addiction which is not good. When gambling we should understand that we are just playing for fun. Most people i know around always take gambling as a very serious issue and i have this particular friend that always complains to me how he has stopped gambling but from no where you still see him gambling again. Me myself am a sesonal gambler and i only gamble on the sport i know which is soccer, i think exploration of new gambling games you are familiar with also causes this repeated feeling of always quitting gambling. I just want to know if this phrase is common among everyone or its just he catch phrase whenever you experiences a big loss.

There are several types of addictions, some that are really bad for our health and others that can even do good if they are well "managed".

Illicit drugs and cigarettes are examples of addictions that are harmful and need to be completely stopped.
Gambling, on the other hand, can be good for our mental health if managed prudently, and I think it shouldn't be completely eliminated from an addict's life because it could bring about a lot more "relapses".

It is better for the person to educate himself, to set limits on time and money spent, so that "abstention" is not his worst enemy.
1491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Arbitrage betting (Surebets) on: February 08, 2023, 12:42:44 AM
On the other hand, bookies do not like their punters do arbitrage. They ban the customer if they find such betting pattern.

Can websites detect an arbitrage transaction? As?

I believe that if it is a manual operation, where you only have a "service" that indicates the best opportunities, there is no way for the betting site to say whether you are arbitraging or not.

Even so, I agree that this is a very complicated operation, you need timing, a lot of money and registration on several sites to make arbitration advantageous.

I myself have found some opportunities, but it was luck on sites I already operated, not because I was really looking for it.
1492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 08, 2023, 12:37:58 AM
If Arsenal signs Asensio as the substitution player for Saka's position, I think Asensio will reject it. It is no different from his current role in Real Madrid, he seems better to stay because Real Madrid is much better in international competition (UCL). I am really sure that Asensio will move to another club if his next club wants to guarantee him as the main player. What Asensio needs is the time to play, he wants to play regularly.

After that last missed penalty, which was decisive for Liga Santander. Among other problems, the month of January has not been easy for Marco Asensio, who has yet to define his future at Real Madrid, as his contract expires at the end of this season.

Since last summer's market I've read news about his departure, however I can't understand why it hasn't materialized yet, the renewal obviously won't happen, I doubt it even though there are still critics who consider that Marco Asensio deserves it the renewal of the contract.

Who can replace him? Many, certainly.
1493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 08, 2023, 12:30:17 AM
Quote
I know it's not right to bet on a game without knowing about it, I am just curious if someone does this kind of strategy.
Copying is good but only if you know who to copy your bet, there are groups that give tips and bets to follow but copying from high rollers based on the stat on the casino is quite risky.

I rely a lot on statistical data from websites, bets and opinions from other players, but I never use this as a rule to define my bet.

My final bet is always based on the research I do and also my final opinion.

I suggest, however, that no one copy my bets (I don't even publish them), as I rarely make any profit.
Fortunately I play just for fun and not for profit.

I find it very interesting to be part of Telegram groups, for example, for gamblers. In many of them, many valuable tips are published that can really help.
But again I say... place your bet prudently, based on your opinion.
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 08, 2023, 12:25:38 AM
I can't help but agree with you here, Africa is actually blessed with a lot of really good players, but like you said, the real problem is lack of proper and adequate funding from the government respectively..
As an African myself, I have come across really good players on the street who if given the chance, would contribute greatly to taking African football to Great height, but unfortunately, there are no provisions set by the football federation to capture this category of people at their tender ages for proper training..

It is this type of recognition that FIFA is trying to highlight with the entry of more players in the next world cup.

Today there are many more very good teams, with great players, who need space to show their talent. Very different from a few decades ago when this was a sport only for favorite teams and "best in the world" players.

In the last Olympics we already had a lot of "surprises" with several "favorites" and I don't doubt at all that the next competition will happen the same.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏅 Paris 2024 Olympic 🏊 Discussion & Predictions 🤺 Summer Games 🏋️ 🥅 🚴 on: February 08, 2023, 12:21:33 AM
I still can't stop thinking about transwomen who enter the women's category at the Olympics, they are basically men, how can men be ordered to compete with women when we know that the Olympics are competitions that rely on physical strength and transwomen's physical strength is on par with men. transgender people should have their own category like those with disabilities.

I think this categorization of men and women should be abolished to make room for another factor that would be much fairer...

Today technology allows us to safely and accurately measure a biomarker based on a person's testosterone levels, so instead of dividing athletes into male and female, why not divide by testosterone level?

This measurement would allow us to include intersex athletes, such as South African middle distance runner Caster Semenya, who have naturally high testosterone levels (she is female and not trans, but in 2018 she was banned from competing in the Olympics after the IAAF ruled that women with elevated testosterone levels should take drugs to lower them, and only then be able to compete in the women's category, so did Namibian track and field stars Christine Mboma and Beatrice Masilingi at the Tokyo Olympics.

This is fair? Obviously not.

The world is evolving and this segmentation of men and women also needs to change.

1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rejecting odd provider's limit on: February 05, 2023, 11:22:04 PM
Bookmakers limit the bet size of a gambler who wins regularly.  If the bookmakers let this bettor to bet according to his will then bookamakers may possibly closed since the provider financila flow is in an outflow.  So to avoid bankruptcy or possible bankroll depletion, they implement  limiting players bet.

And if you are talking about casino limiting a player, it is possible to prevent players from exploiting bonuses and at the same time not banning them for some reasons.

Honestly, I think this is a big injustice, as bookmakers are supposed to be impartial.
As long as players play within the rules, there shouldn't be any kind of enforcement to block their bets.
If a bookmaker blocks players who win a lot, then they should also block when that player is losing a lot of money, why doesn't this happen? Obviously I already know the answer, I'm just raising this point for you to reflect on.

In any case, we are still facing a relationship between company/consumer, and no one is obliged to provide their services to anyone, which is why this is not an illegal practice, but it is immoral nonetheless.

Also in physical casinos, it is "normal" for them to withdraw bettors who win several times in a row, even if he is not cheating.

Casinos never lose money, either by imposing odds or forcing players to leave and in fact, this should never be the goal of gamblers, because casinos are a means of entertainment, where you win eventually.

In the end, we all love casinos and gambling, we can't live without them Cheesy
