841  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: O êxodo das capitais do Brasil on: August 04, 2023, 01:54:37 AM

How to Use an E-Ink Display in Your Arduino Project

As desvantagens:

According to some recent rumors, in this summer break, Charles and Ferrari will talk about his contract.

He may renew his contract, currently expiring at the end of 2024, while Sainz will probably leave for AUDI.

If I remember correctly, in the case of Sainz it isn't new that he would be speculating about a move to Alpine, and I think it is very likely that this will indeed happen.
At Alpine, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, both French, have a contract signed until 2024 (like Sainz), so it would be very likely that a driver exchange between the two teams will happen.
However, looking a little closer.... Alfa Romeo-Sauber Valtteri Bottas, from Finland, and Zhou Guanyu, are only bonded until the end of 2023, could she also be planning something??

Returning to the initial discussion, about Leclerc, the Italian informants are saying that the Monegasque's new contract with Ferrari would be in the 'mold' 2 + 3: that is, renewal for two seasons with the option of extending the bond for three more championships in the team from Maranello.

Hojlud potentially to be another weghorst as well. It's better wait for him to prove it. People hyped him so much. I keep seeing some videos in youtube that said he was underrated player. He's fast, strong and having good finishing.

I've been looking at an opinion from “Manchester Evening” about this signing and I have to agree with what they wrote.... I think that at that moment this was a very successful negotiation, despite the criticism that the club should better control its expenses.
Sadly, there are indeed few young players on the European transfer market who have as much potential as Hojlud. You have to give him time to adapt, obviously, and grow under the command of one of the best coaches today.

About the comparison they made with Harry Kane, I thought it was a bit "exaggerated"... Kane was in the club's sights at the start of the transfer window, and he would certainly fit better into Erik ten Hag's style of play, which prioritizes for more agile players.

Hojlund is still at the beginning of his career, he has a lot of potential to demonstrate and his rewards could be very great if Hojlund really evolves in the same way that Haaland, another athlete from Scandinavia, did in the past.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: August 04, 2023, 01:07:28 AM
Whether we like it or now, it is obvious Trump is going to get away with this and take the Republican nomination for himself. People was hyped for De Santis at first, getting some donators, even. But looking are the recent polling it is obvious that somehow the guy managed to spoil his own chances.

I am not an American, but I believe that Donald Trump is the protagonist of one of the biggest institutional constraints of democracy in the United States due to the fact that he is the first former American president to be criminally accused in the history of the country.

In addition to the accusations in the case of secret documents taken from the White House, which is certainly the most serious case that weighs against him, Trump was still summoned to appear in court yesterday to answer for four other crimes.
1. conspiracy against the country;
2. conspiracy to violate civil rights;
3. conspiracy to attempt to obstruct official proceedings; It is
4. Obstruction of an official procedure, in the case of non-recognition of elections in the process.

You know what's worse than all of this? It's just that if he manages to launch his candidacy and be accepted, which certainly should happen... it's very likely that he will win the elections. Or my vision as a foreigner is very distorted!?

@Disruptivas

The matches in the other groups have ended and it's unfortunate that Brazil was eliminated after failing to win the last game against Jamaica. Brazil really dominated the match there were 18 shots and 8 on target but none of them were scored and there was almost no chance for Jamaica players to get into the Brazilian defense unfortunately all the opportunities Brazil had were wasted, it seems that Brazil did not expect that Jamaica would be able to discipline its defense area until the match ended which makes it really difficult for them to score goals.

Brazil really didn't do well... despite the Brazilians having more possession of the ball and having controlled the pace of the match, they didn't play with the determination needed to win the game.
Again they missed a lot of passes, showed nervousness in all actions on the field and were extremely limited by Jamaica's tight defense

They needed to win to qualify for the round of 16 and even started the game looking for an offensive attack and putting pressure on Jamaica, but it was necessary to hit the passes to try to reach the opponent's goal more often and manage to finish... I saw very few shots from danger close to the Jamaican goal area.

There were some good moments, mainly on the left side with Tamires, Debinha and Marta, the Brazilian team advanced a few times and had opportunities to score the goal, but goalkeeper Spencer was always well placed on those few occasions when she had to work.

Unfortunately, closer to the end, the Brazilians were already tired and without budgets on the field, with few attempts to score, they ended up having to accept premature disqualification from the world cup.

I was betting on Brazil, but... that's for another time.
848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: August 03, 2023, 12:17:38 AM
This has been discussed many times already, so I'll bring up again just the basic points needed by anyone looking to get over their gambling addiction:

  • Only play with money you can afford to lose, don't risk the money you need for your daily needs like paying bills or food;
  • Ensure that the game does not dominate your leisure time, have time to engage in other social and leisure activities;
  • Never borrow money or use a credit card to gamble;
  • Avoid gambling when under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or when emotionally upset, depressed, or anxious;
  • Set limits on how much time you spend on betting, set maximum limits for your bet amount and also limits for daily wins or losses.

By doing this, you should be able to control yourself.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 03, 2023, 12:06:47 AM
Hey y'all...Seriously, I've been having this running through my mind.. maybe it's been discussed but this is on a diverse objective.
Why is it that we tend to have alot of men inclined and addicted to gambling than women? Is there any mystery guiding that?
I mean, You ain't gonna telme that everyone isn't roofed by this economic crises - both gender to speak of - so what's so special about men gambling?? Alot of cases has been reported several times too - and y'all end up realizing that MEN are usually involved in very many critical cases... What's that validating? That men are really taking the whole thing personal??

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

Why men are smarter than women.

There is research linking gambling with high male IQ.... That's what a study published in the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making by academics from the University of Liverpool and the University of Eastern Finland says, they came to the conclusion that there is something interesting behind male IQs: men with high IQs are more prone to gambling.

More than 15,000 Finns took part in the survey and completed the IQ test required to enter the Finnish Defense Forces. The information was also intertwined with men's behavior regarding online gaming, social status, monetary income and family education.

The test was intended for men, as women are not required to enlist in the country, so the survey data will be aimed only at the male audience.

Obviously, the phrase I said at the beginning of this post is totally ironic. I believe that as with many other things, this is still just a matter of prejudice.

852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Legality of Online Gambling in Different Countries on: August 02, 2023, 12:31:48 AM
A gambler should be aware of the laws regarding gambling in their country so they do not get in trouble. Wanting to gamble ignorantly without any idea of the status of gambling laws in your country is not a smart move because ignorance of the law is not an excuse in court of law.

In Brazil, gambling is prohibited, but online sports betting is not included in the category of gambling, therefore it continues to be allowed due to the existence of a "grey area" in the law, since at the same time it is not prohibited there is also no regulation.

And just as in other countries, in Brazil we also have a lot of advertising for sports betting being broadcast in stadiums and on television, but the government is consequently losing a lot in tax collection because it is not able to tax them properly due to the lack of a regulation in this sector.

But, as in the entire internet of a free country, it is not possible to easily ban foreign betting sites, so everything is "free" here, even gambling in general.

The private clause looks like a big load of bullshit. I think both clubs just came to an agreement. Barcelona want Dembele gone ASAP so they just agreed a deal with PSG.

What do you mean Dembele was faithful and needs to save his career? Dembele hasn't done jack shit for Barcelona in 6 years and the club trusted him with a new injury despite his injuries.
PSG ain't a better club than Barcelona so I don't know how's that's going to save his career but let's see.

My opinion.... Let Dembléle go!
Did Barcelona spend a fortune on him? Yes, but as you said... he's not doing anything for Barcelona that would justify keeping him in the team.

On the other hand, he hires João Félix, who seems to me to be very close to fulfilling one of his dreams, taking the place of Ousmane Dembélé in the Barcelona team if Dembélé actually makes his transfer to PSG.

In the worst case, they should at least complete the loan of João Félix until the end of the season, and open up the possibility of exercising the option to buy the player's pass in the future.

I hope Xavi comes to terms with this, I don't understand why he wants to hold on to Dembléle so badly.
854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is Gamble gaining more fans than Bitcoin? on: August 02, 2023, 12:12:17 AM
People are more interested in gambling than Bitcoin. Although gambling has more ricks than investing in bitcoins, people are developing a form of gambling addiction. If you are involved in gambling then you will have the possibility of both profit or loss but if you invest in bitcoin you will definitely have profit but you have to wait for long time to get that profit. Of course in gambling you don't have to wait long to get that profit but if you invest in gambling then your capital will likely be zero but in case of Bitcoin your worth will never be zero.

Casinos have a great visual appeal, they are interesting, they are attractive, they are extremely addictive and with a high capacity for entertainment.
Betting on Bitcoin, the most "exciting" will be working with day-trading and leveraged investing, but it will still not be as pleasurable as a casino game.
For this "simple" reason, gambling attracts many more people than Bitcoin itself.

However, I don't blame people for this, I blame anyone who tries to make a comparison between gambling and an investment currency like Bitcoin, as these are completely different things (although they are directly linked) and should be used for different purposes:
Bitcoin: Investment and long-term gain;
Gambling: Spending money for entertainment in order to TRY to win money.

Brazil women's team was in first place in Group F but lost to France women's team today and dropped them to third place. Brazil women's team did not perform very well today, their attack did not work. a 2-1 loss to France dropped them well behind in the group points but most people were betting on the Brazil women's side today. France conceded an early goal to Brazil but then equalized when the Brazil women's team attacked. The France women's team then scored a last time goal and the Brazil women's team had no time to retaliate. For which the Brazil women's team unfortunately lost to the France women's team, losing their group table points and changing position.

The Brazilian team lost the match because, in fact, they played worse than the French, this is known by everyone who watched the game and the Brazilian coach, Pia Sundhage, recognizes this. The Brazilians didn't lose the game because of a specific play, but many others that were poorly executed.

France actually surprised Brazil in the first minutes of the game with a high and very offensive mark, Brazil felt intimidated and barely managed to keep the ball at its feet and give more than three quality touches in a row... that's it. it was awful. The coach should have made changes in the team or oriented to "cut" the midfield and advance with the long balls straight to the attacking field.

Anyway, we all knew it would be a difficult game, but I believed that the Brasileiras would do a little better. I was betting on the victory of the Brazilians and I was hoping for a draw at least.

Against Jamaica, favoritism and the obligation to win belongs to Brazil, and I hope that happens, because if they don't win, they run the serious risk of being eliminated.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Thoughts On First Time Lottery Bettor Who Won Big Amount? on: July 29, 2023, 08:37:19 PM
I'm okay with it and here are two things that come to my mind:
- luck is random
- the very definition of a successful gambler (if he doesn't come back and gamble again)

Hopefully, he doesn't end up like most lottery winner, which is bankrupt after several years.

My view is the same among people who win a lot of money in the lottery or gambling: They go bankrupt after a few years because they simply don't know how to manage money.
Getting rich betting on the lottery or gambling is different from getting rich investing in the right places or working hard, because in the latter cases the person has acquired financial knowledge that will help him to keep that value for longer and multiply it. Very different from someone who always had few resources and suddenly becomes rich due to luck.... she does not have the knowledge/education necessary to maintain this wealth, and many make serious mistakes because of this, because the brain is agitated, releases adrenaline and some even panic.

Another problem for those who win the lottery is the desire or persuasion of their family members to share the prize or help all their family members pay off debts and make their dream come true too.
Helping others is cool, but you have to be aware that the money is yours.

But most even believe that money will last forever, because they never have so much money in their lives, they believe that they will never be able to work again, that they can spend as much as they want and the money will last until their death.
Unfortunately, not even the biggest lottery prize in the world is enough for those who don't know how to manage it.
