Bumping this back up. Unless new software is coming within a month, I recommend adding in 2fa.

Theymos recently stated it'll be a feature of the new forum, but that's apparently a year away:

14942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should the foundation apologize to GOX?! on: February 12, 2014, 05:30:35 PM
Gox should apologise to the Bitcoin community for its continue shitty service and causing the panic yesterday.

Hihi , wasn't that two days ago Smiley ? Time is flying faster in the crypto world .

Haha, I don't know. Seems like only yesterday, but time does indeed move faster here  Grin.
14943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN GOT HELD on: February 12, 2014, 05:25:48 PM
How about bter? I got some btc on there , anyone been able to withdraw? I know I could 2 days ago , didn't try now

Maybe you should check first?
I'm afraid it'll be stuck or something

Do you need to withdraw it or are you just worried? I'd leave it there for the time being, but you can go check if it's possible to withdraw but not actually go through with it.
I'm just worried that's all , no need to withdraw yet. It don't block the withdraw page in any way , seems like it's possible but i'm afraid to try it , what if it gets lost

I doubt it will get lost. Just wait if there's no need to withdraw it.
14944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATMs and fake money problem? on: February 12, 2014, 05:23:24 PM

I'm not an expert in atm machines , but i think it's just a piece of software that runs when you inset a bill that checks it against some patterns.
So it would be fairly easy to get a recognition software that detect fakes , just like banks have , for every bill out there , and install it with a few clicks.

I doubt that this is not the standard procedure , otherwise I'm pretty sure we would have already seen reports of people inserting some home printed money in those machines.

Ok, then why in most banks there are still a human cashiers that personally check some of the bills and it's not all automated?
Based on what experience or facts you think is easy to make a software that recognizes fake money?

The cashiers do other jobs too. Most banks in the UK tell you to use the automated machines if you're paying in money / cheques because it saves time. My mate even had a note swallowed because it was fake, so they obviously work.

Well if it lasts longer than Ritz did worth checking as a competitor but we will see

It will be abused like it already has done by someone.

True enough his method of forum history plus activity might work on a long run though the question is manual checking the consistency of posts

I was talking more about the fact that people will sign up just to get the money. Somebody already got paid then removed his signature straight away.

14948  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much is my physical novelty/trinkets BTC coins worth? on: February 12, 2014, 05:02:20 PM
Wait. Could someone redeem these bitcoins if they can read a private key off them? I mean if it is possible someone would have done it.
THESE coins are novelty coins and contain no BTC, and has no adresses on them.

The might work. Have you tried scanning the addresses? Cheesy
14949  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why can't I change my avatar? on: February 12, 2014, 04:56:46 PM
I would like to change my avatar but itīs not possible

It's not possible for anybody. Was disabled due to an exploit.
14950  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think? on: February 12, 2014, 04:55:46 PM

You seem to be mistaken, these are not Dogecoin machines. wow. such cliche. much annoyance.

14952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition for iPhone wallets on: February 12, 2014, 04:42:41 PM
You need to petition Apple with your money. Ditch the devices then they'll listen.

They dont give a shit really... The number of us who want bitcoin  apps is SO small that it wont affect them if we swap. hahah

I'm talking about large scale really, not just Bitcoin users. Apple piss people off with their restrictions all the time. Just look how popular jailbreaking is.
14953  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to paypal -- Legit ? on: February 12, 2014, 04:26:10 PM
Tested with 0.1 BTC and worked for me.

The strange thing is that BTC payment address seems not to be automatically generated and it's used if you check it in the blockchain.

Again, No disrespect, just like to hear from a Non-Newbie who has had a positive experience.

Its amazing how many people in this thread have less than 20 posts and have lots to say of this service.

Very sketchy

Always sketchy, but newbs would probably be the only people to even "test" this  Grin.
14954  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying and Selling Bitcoin for Dollars? AKA Coinbase worse than PayPal. on: February 12, 2014, 04:21:19 PM
Try a different payment processor like Bitpay.

However they have a lot of fees!

Well they're not gonna do it for free. I'm sure they're still cheaper than creditcards.
14955  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Integrating Bitcoin payments in a shop. How? on: February 12, 2014, 04:15:54 PM

If anybody can tell me which (user friendly) bank to use that transform the BTC into Eur immediately after recieving them (would keept them - but they prefer to change them at least at the beginning), please let me know!

Thanx

You could use a payment processor like Bitpay which will do this for you.
Yeah bitpay is good service except the fact there fee is on higher side , if one is fine with it , its a good service.

I'm sure they're still cheaper than creditcard companies.
14956  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Official "OMG my wife is about to have a baby" Thread on: February 12, 2014, 04:08:58 PM
HaHa, I talked to wife about it, and she said she would agree, but it would be a higher number.  Pretty sure he can overcome a name, if he is set up for college from birth.  I highly doubt the right number to name him Dogecoin would be reached though lol
Then why not do it, claim the prize, and change the name later on, or he can change it himself as an adult. I know a lot of people who are just known by their nicknames among friends, I've met some of them several times and don't even know their real names. I wish my parents were offered 500BTC to name me Dogecoin Cheesy

Because that would be akin to stealing.  If he chose to change name as an adult, thats his choice, but if I entered an agreement, why would I renig on it?

Half a million isnt the amount we were thinking.  But it was more than 5btc worth.

How is it stealing? The offer is to officially name the baby, which you would be doing unless any terms said otherwise.
14957  Other / Off-topic / Re: Peering into my crystal ball on: February 12, 2014, 04:06:58 PM
I see a massive escalation of attacks from multiple vectors, price will test $50 within 72 hours. Don't say you were not warned.

Well I hope your right...time to stock up!

If people keep attacking Bitcoin this way and the price falls it'll never be worth much so it won't matter.

I happened to watch a really good documentary last night: Paris is Burning.

It's from the early nineties and is about drag queens in NYC in the late 80s. I'm a fully straight male and found it really captivating.

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that  Wink Cheesy.

I doubt it: http://hollywoodlife.com/2014/02/10/flappy-bird-suicide-dong-nguyen-death-hoax/
