WOW!  name him Doge

This dude names his son "Dogecoin" as the first name, I throw in 5 BTCs, but he has to prove it is legally his name.

Not happening, even for 500 btc.  Nope.  No way.  Never

What would be so bad? You can always change his name. You could take the coins and use them as a trustfund for the kid. I doubt gweedo is serious though.

They need to kick Karpeles out that's for sure.

What happened?

Take a look around the forum and you should be able to work it out.

I think it's awesome that this free opensource software project can count on the the devotion of its developers during harsh times like these. Everybody that works at an exchange and everybody submitting patches to all the projects out there: You are awesome.

Even Gox?  Shocked
14984  Other / Off-topic / Re: My generous benefactor... on: February 12, 2014, 11:38:00 AM
Hahah, so cruel. I`d send it back with 2 satoshi just to slap that person in the face.

I wouldn't agitate them. What if they retaliate and constantly spam you with Satoshis?  Cheesy
14985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can Bitcoin be made fun and exciting again? on: February 12, 2014, 11:29:24 AM
With Charlie Shrem's arrest, the decline in price, the Mt. Gox fiasco, the ban in Russia, and other events in a seemingly endless string of bad news, Bitcoin fans aren't having any fun. The exuberance of the 2013 bubble is entirely gone. There might be another bubble soon but it'd be nice if we could have things to keep people engaged even when the price isn't soaring. So what can the Bitcoin community do to entertain the general public as much as Dogecoin is?

What do you define as fun? If not much happens for a week or two, people start to panic when they see the price remaining stable or falls. People who are in Bitcoin for the long haul rather than a quick return on their investment shouldn't be affected. Sure, this year has gotten off to a slow and arguably bad start, but I'm sure they'll be plenty of excitement and price increases sometime this year when more merchants start accepting it and Bitcoin ATMs start popping up everywhere and who knows what else. Bitcoin is still pretty new and it's going to be a bumpy ride with a lot of struggles along the way, especially with the media slandering it everytime something minor happens and it gets blown out of proportion. If people want fun, they can stick with their Dogecoin, but I'm sure there will be a time when people get bored of that too, especially when they release they're not going to become rich off it.
14986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So It Wasnt All Down To Gox? on: February 12, 2014, 11:18:24 AM
The issue was already known. The problem was with how Gox handled it causing everybody to panic thinking Bitcoin was fucked.
14987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats been going on with BTC? Where does the future stand! on: February 12, 2014, 11:11:36 AM
Should I ride this wave out Huh

I was loaned BTC right before the crash and I feel horrible that the person will be getting back much less after this bump in the road..

QQ

Wow trouble, much difficulty.

That doesn't make sense?  Are you paying him back in USD for the amount that you borrowed in BTC?  That is the only way that he would get paid back less...

That makes complete sense, I used the BTC for gyft cards and now only have to payback half of the cash/crypto/tender/STUFF i basically used~

Because he's getting the same amount of BTC as he lent you back (or maybe even more). 1BTC is still 1BTC. The price will probably rise to much more in in the future, would you then feel bad or out of pocket if/when it does?

What exactly are they actually trying to achieve with this?
Cheap bitcoins. Same as always.

How will that work if all the exchanges are down?

I have tried faucets but they are useless and slow.

Don't waste your time with faucets. Check on over on the marketplace and the services section.

I had iPhone 3s when it came out, at 1st i was happy, but then problems started, so after some time I throw it in the garbage ( it worked to some degree ) and bought Note one, never even had a slightest regret, now I have Note 3 and I'm even more happy Smiley

I've had my battered iPhone 3s for nearly three years, but once it dies I wont be going back to Apple.

15000  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: February 11, 2014, 05:42:20 PM

It's not about how one looks, BC has started something of a habit of playing real people lol. BC for the win.

On a serious note though, Emile Hirsch definitely looks the part.

You've got to look a little bit like the person you're meant to be playing. I've not really seen Cumberbatch in much. Only a few of his small parts.

Not a fan of Sherlock?

I've seen a few episodes of Sherlock myself and thought that it was alright. BC has been everywhere since starting Sherlock.

Sherlock the series is pretty good, but I don't think it is as good as all the hype.  I think ratings on IMDB had it in the top 5 shows of all time...I don't think so...

Isn't there only 9 episodes?
