yeah, the NH miner is useful for the laymen, but not the best IMHO.

Basically, just grab the ccmineralexis78.exe file (as mentioned in my link), copy the batch file and paste it into a new .bat file with ccminer... and just update your BTC payout address and ID tag at the top of the batch.

If you don't want to run the manual batch, or multi-algo batch, you can simply use a string like this:

skienonly.bat
Code:
:start
ccminerAlexis78.exe -a skein -o stratum+tcp://skein.mine.zpool.ca:4933 -u 1PHSDYvVp6HpqtuUPocK41DrdeHbbezaeP -p i7-920-GPU,c=BTC,skein,stats
goto start

change "i7-920-GPU" to whatever you want your miner ID to be seen as (shows up on right pane in wallet page on zpool.ca) for easy ID of the miner connected (if you have multiple), and of course change the BTC address unless you feel like donating hash to my account Wink

I really love the manual batch though.   If another algo's coin value moons, i just log into my old website, and change the algo name in the text file.  No need to visit all my miners and update manually.

You can use the manual batch as-is with my URL;  as long as you don't mind being on-board with whatever algo I am mining currently Wink

Jared,

I'm having problems with the Alexis78 miner. Have you had this problem where the command prompt would lock up, gpu power would go down to 0% and it would stop mining until you hit the "enter" key? It happens every 30-60mins and it's really preventing me from using zpool.
Am I overclocking too much? The screenshot attached has it locked up and I didn't hit the "enter" key until 2 minutes later.

This is when I'm only mining skein with your .bat file.

Nope, first I've heard of that.

Try stock gpu settings.... there should be no reason for any input once the miner app is launched.
1502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much data traffic when mining? on: June 01, 2017, 09:04:49 PM
I think my ccminer averages ~300mb/mo give or take.

I use my internet at home for other things, so can't comment further... but before, I remember about that much per month.

its just little blips of data to stratum... not big chunks.

Even t-mobile's cellular "unlimited" reduced-speed internet is more than enough bandwidth to mine off of with several machines at one location.   I use this tactic for gorilla mining ops.
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NemosMiner-v1.7.4 multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner for MPH & ZPOOL on: June 01, 2017, 09:02:01 PM
Hello again,
it seems that one or more of the algos in ccminer package is very sensitive to overclocked core, some of my cards either go offline completely or get stuck in P8 state. Memory is not overclocked, only core.
Anyone noticed this? Which algo could be the culprit?
Thanks.

Pay attention on your wallet page for when the hashrate drops;  what algo is it switching from and to.  This will narrow down which app is doing this.

I have particularly noticed the P-state error come in play when neoscrypt is involved in algo switching.  Maybe its improperly using the driver?  IDK....  but look for that, knowing what algos will allow us to run and shut the offending app several times to try and reproduce the condition and verify the culprit.
1504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Performance of GTX 1070? on: June 01, 2017, 06:14:47 PM
The primary skein coins I am know about are DGB-skein and Myriad-skein (both of those are multi-algorythm coins, however).
AUR - Aurora is also a pretty good earner.  I think it's the primary skein coin....  High value blocks.
UIS - Unitus has quick block times... but, is... not worth much per block.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this Asrock H110-Pro BTC (1 x 16X slot and 11 x 1X slots !)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924942.msg19271012#msg19271012
Same.... I just hope people don't start gouging the prices on them like they did with the H97 boards.... they used to be ~$100 or less; now they cost an arm and a leg comparatively.

I can only imagine people taking a ~$150-200 board and gouging the price into the $450 range......
1506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: N00b Question on: June 01, 2017, 06:09:12 PM
Hello @  JaredKaragen,

Can you please link me to a tutorial or howto that matches ubuntu and the GPU installed in my server because using Google foes not really help if you not do it for free i am ready to pay a small bounty for it the server specs are in my first post.

i do mine now some monero coins but that gives me like 50 cents a day and it's not worth it so i guess the server use only the CPU and not the GPU so i am doing something wrong any help would be appreciated

I personally use windows on my miners as it offers the most end-user support than the rest.   Mostly programmers and thus generically a great number of linux users tend to be... well, more stuck up when it comes to help (nowadays)...

But;  it begins with just getting the OS installed, install the nvidia driver package... (I know there's how-to's here on this forum, I just don't have them linked/bookmarked anywhere)
clone the github repo of the miner version you wish to use (or install package if it's a version like one of the % fee claymore ones)
and create a launch string/cron.d update to auto-launch the miner upon startup

You won't ever make any real profit unless you get those video cards mining.  I highly suggest the skien algo (recently pretty profitable), and I personally use zpool.ca.

a quick google search lead me to This link and This.

Hope it helps!  I have to work up north for the day, so I may not have much online presence, so if more questions arise i'll respond when able.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Performance of GTX 1070? on: June 01, 2017, 09:15:40 AM
What is the preformance of the 1070 at mining LBRY, Equihash, X11? Would it be worth it to purchase multiple 1070s forward building a mining rig?

look at skien,Lyra2v2 or equihash first; they are the most profitable.

Yes.  It's still worth it.  Well worth it.

I see a lot of peapole speaking about skien but what coin ? skien coin ?
There is no skien on what to mine.  Huh

its an algo... there are multiple coins that support/use the skien algo =)  Pools make efficient use of this and divvy up work between coins to miners.
1508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1080ti's: Better Options? on: June 01, 2017, 09:14:13 AM
EWBF is running for my Zotac Amp Extreme at 705-720 sol/s range.

So far i tried are point to hashnest. The reported rate fluctuate from 500+ to 700 range.

But if i run using Hashnest GUI, miner shows 685 sol/s. Website report fluctuate.

It fluctuates because it's not dependent on a value calculated by the app, instead it's calculated by the share percentage/difficulty (miner reported values can easily be spoofed, etc).....  This in itself can add more error to the mix for sure.
1509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Performance of GTX 1070? on: June 01, 2017, 07:32:15 AM
1070 is the best of both worlds for hashrate density vs price.... a very nice middle ground.

for the more frugal spender;  even 1060's are more than viable @ ~200ea (less if bought used).
1510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 01, 2017, 07:30:35 AM
Got a question for you Philip. Do you think the MSI 1080TI Aero needs a backplate?  EK has one that will fit on the Aero. Need it or just a waste of coin?

PS

I think I answered my question. Just checked and it's not a stand alone unit. It requires the cooling block for mounting to the backside. It also only provides passive cooling for back side of the VRM.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBsxuNXyDJk&t=310s

Backplate usefulness?

I saw this a while back, and it seems like a valid conclusion.
1511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX1080ti's: Better Options? on: June 01, 2017, 07:27:18 AM

What is your experience on zpool? So many are commenting it"stealing"?
Do we have other pool that do good on skien for those that only have BTC wallet?

Actually I tried zpool and from the minded Bytecoin number and I comparing to the BTC value with Poloniex, I can see that it has 30% less. Not sure where are this 30% goes. Also have to pay for transfer fee too.

Really not sure. Might try out minipoolhub.

I am sure many experience minor can share what should be so we can cut short the learning. lol

I have no issues with zpool really.  Just the typical random DDOS issues, or the recent payout bug that happened (I was personally un-effected, but everyone was taken care of).  Id say no more than any other pool would have.

remember;  the pool code itself picks which exchange to transfer and sell to... we can't make any assumptions where the coins were sold....

... you said you had to pay for a transfer fee as well;  zpool covers the TX fees, so I am unsure what you are getting at by this ....

Look at the spread of the coins mined.  often it's within the 10-30% range on alts... (I watch and make short plays on the market everyday now).  when you are shown a block reward;  I believe it shows the lowest market "sell" rate;  and (I believe) when it receives the funds back from the exchange, the pool corrects the estimates based upon what people actually paid for the coins.... but frankly, I don't know how often it does it, or under what conditions.  Grain of salt.  IT will take some serious researching of the pool code to fully understand how it works.

Holding the 24 hour graph of the DGB price from yobit over my pending balance graph;  you can see the same humps bumps and dips in the same time frames (almost) between the two graphs....   this is more than coincidence.  I saw it heavily when DGB went from 700 to ~400 a few days back.

Now, I bet this "estimation error" people see would not be near as prominent if the pool calculated everything based on the highest buy order, instead of the lowest sell order.... but again;  the market is in constant flux.

Also;  every time I do some spot calculations on 24 hour profitability based on my hashrate;  it tends to be pretty close to what I earned in the previous day....

What is your payout coin?
1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: N00b Question on: May 31, 2017, 06:41:17 PM
Ignore CPU mining as mentioned above.  not profitable unless you have a bunch of machines on free power...

The GPU will work excellent.  I use zpool;  simple to configure, and you can get paid in BTC or your choice of mined altcoins... but I highly suggest using BTC as a payout coin so there are no delays (read zpool thread to understand if you didn't get it from zpool.ca's website).

I have a batch file link in my sig for getting going on zpool.  many options, might want to read up before you jump in the water.

Remember, 99% of altcoin mining is based around the GPU.  The better the GPU, the more hashrate density and efficiency you get.
1513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Thousands of rigs are going online soon, expected hashrate over next months? on: May 31, 2017, 06:35:30 PM
There are more coins in the world then Eth.

The most bold correct statement so far in this thread
Triple quoted for importance.

Don't follow the herd.

Do your own 24hr profitability calculations yourself from the live numbers on different pools and decide what's most profitable.....

If you buy hardware that's less desireable to most end-users, then when "the bubble pops" or the network gets soaked in hashrate like BTC is...  that's when your stuck with a bunch of hardware you have to sell at a cut-rate price to try and recoup money you were expecting in return after use.

all of my video cards have already paid themselves off, on top of put BTC in my pocket, and paid for several games on Steam.

I also make good profits buying and selling on exchanges, but most of my buying habits are long term, and 80% have already more than paid off their investment and are growing with the market.   Even if the market tanks, I will feel comfortable selling as they will always be a profit....   Just like my hardware.

OP, check the batch link in my sig.  Lots of info and resources to get you going with lots of options.

Theres also a link to the original batch thread with lots more info and stuffs.

If you need any assistance past that getting started, just drop me a PM.   Should be relatively painless though.

I used to be on Lyra2v2 24/7... but the block difficulty on MONA and Vert... were just too damned long, and payouts were pretty inconsistent.  I felt the "bad days" a lot more than I do on skein.
1517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 Weeks of L3+ Mining, 211 Blocks found?! on: May 31, 2017, 05:08:37 PM
sounds like a multi-coin stratum...

Lots of low value coins to nibble on....  I doubt it found that many LTC blocks.....   but it may have found that many blocks total...
1518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for "ccminer/enemy-0.2b" on: May 31, 2017, 05:06:57 PM
those "benchmarks" are just data given by the miner app... so, it could include errors in the total hashrate figure.

You could have a 500Mh card, but 100Mh of those might be errors; yet count towards the calculation speeds just the same.

I myself am interested though... I wonder what kind of optimizations are done to what algos.
1519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: May 31, 2017, 01:22:42 PM
In general: watercooling is awesome, as long as you keep up on checking the coolant regularly....  when its an "openable" system.. like a homemade loop.

In my opinion, it's almost a negative honestly;  because not only do you have the liquid level and leak factor, but that on top of the radiator/cooler clogging like any other cooler would.  In the end, you are shrinking your cooler down from the surface area that it was on the GPU (which I believe is higher) to the size of the new radiator.

If it wasn't a "closed system" like that one, you could feed it from a large reservoir, remote from the machine, that would be the smartest option in the end... but, again... more hassle to do that than it's worth I think.

I really don't think you'll get much more out of one being watercooled, because they will reach heat saturation and be right where the air cooled unit was (within a few degrees anyways)....   They do help for the short term load spikes and whatnot that you see in games, but when it comes to running cards hard like mining does... they get to heat soak and are basically about the same... depending on the ability of the radiator/fan.
1520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: May 31, 2017, 11:39:28 AM
im a huge fan of EVGA personally... the few extra bucks ans you get a better cooler, better build quality, and a quality warranty...

I haven't had any EVGA cards fail on me yet.

Though, the ACX3.0 cards are the 2.25 spacing size... and they are rather large;  but that's what I like, the cooler.
