If it’s free you’re probably the product. Nothing is free, maybe only the air you breathe that is polluted anyway...
In a market of brutal competition where miners have to pay for security, warehouse leases, engineers, cheap electrical contracts, ect ... 21 Inc is attempting to off load those costs onto the user. Profits will be realized through greater efficiencies - Security is no longer needed anymore because there is no longer a warehouse full of expensive ASIC's to protect. There are millions of coffee warmers spread across homes that aren't worth the effort stealing each one. Electricity can be free with certain products. If I can use the waste heat from ASICs to warm a cup of tea or coffee than I have just put that wasted energy to use. No Warehouse rent needed or insurance as mining is decentralized and replacing an existing appliance in a home. That, you do not know. You have no idea what are the plans of 21 inc. maybe they will set up their own pool where these new "miners" will mine.

SO, I get a random .0001 payment from this wallet 1ABq4tonjP9mSt5GMabpH3nWyQFqtfPgYq. I go to blockchain.info to see who it is and the subject website is the heading for the transaction. The entirety of the transaction header reads, "Public Note: YOUR RETURN ON INVESTMENT FROM -> LIMITLESS-BTC.COM <- You will receive next payment in .."
I know this is probably a scam, but should it concern me that they went and dug up my wallet address and advertised like this?
It's spam advertising. They do this to lure to their website.

Anybody who watches the evening news or glances at the newspaper must be aware of the negative image that Bitcoin has hovering above it. People believe that it's nothing more than a haven for criminal activity. It seems that governments, the press, and the general public all believe the volumes of anti-Bitcoin propaganda that is released on a daily basis.
My question is "Who is doing this?" Is it the governments because they want to control Bitcoin and have been unable to exercise full control yet? Is it the banks because they see Bitcoin as a viable threat their exclusive domain? Or are we, the Bitcoin users, simply shooting ourselves in the foot with enterprises like the Silk Road that are using Bitcoin for illicit purposes? What do you think?
Who is doing this? OK, ask your self this: Who has the most to lose if Bitcoin actually succeeds? The Federal Reserve and the voltures running it.

So there has been a theft of 2 Mio from DPR's MtGox account and in addition there was the seizure of 2.9 Mio from Marc's Dwolla account?
Yes, they were two different thefts, well one was a seizure but thats pretty much the same thing. That is very suspicious now that you mention it, perhaps it really was seized and MtGox are trying to pretend the account was hacked. The warrant for the Dwolla seizure was signed by the same corrupt cop that stole the other Silk Road money too....... I have a feeling there is more to this story. Force or the other one? And yeah, I think we will find out more along the way.

Seems interesting.
If I understand correctly, people ask to to create their projects, and you do it for free (just a small bonus)?
That's how I understand the service as well, but maybe we're both wrong Well, if that be the case then I will give them a shit load of work to do I guess we will have to wait and see.

What does he mean: Bitcoin capacity will run out this year?
I don't get it.

Hmm, I do not know if I understand this correctly, but let me tell you what I gathered.
You are offering (maybe illegal) services to anyone who wishes to attack a server, probably even personal IPs.
Did you consider the fact that many kids will be tempted to use this?
False. Our services are used to stress test servers so clients can accordingly calculate how much there server can handle, if whatever reason they are under real distress (DDoS), they are ready. Do you first validate by any means that your clients are using your service to test their service only and not launching DDOS on other servers??? Our terms of service state that we are not responsible for how you use the tools provided, however it also says do not attack servers you do not own. Pretty self explanatory. Thanks Your Terms of Service looks childish to say the least. Claiming that you are not responsible for what your clients do, does not get you off the hook. In order to provide services like this you need to be a registered company - can I have your company ID? Apart from that, when providing this service you are required to follow a KYC procedure and confirm that the "target" truly belongs to the client. How old are you? He is from HackForums so he might be a kid. Yeah, that's why I asked him. It sounds like a kid. You 're going to get your self in trouble kid. For what? A few dollars?

Hi
I have seen some websites that have an address that starts with a 3. For example Bit-X and some multisig addresses. They are all valid, but I have no clue how to get one. Are they normal addresses? Is there any way to vanity gen one?
Thanks
That is a multi-sig address. Here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Multisignature

it is also possible that he lost them or forget password or destroyed those bitcoins i don't think he own that much bitcoins right now, and no one has wallet address of satoshi that are supposed to holding thousands of BTC
AFAIK he created a new address for each of the block rewards he got. So I don't think it's possible to find a single address with all that coins. If it was it would have appeared in the Bitcoin Top 10 rich list by now.

Is the no deposit bonus still going?

That means that they have finally realized that "If you can't beat them, join them". Plus they also realized that some person or a group of people have demonstarted to be better in global economics than they will ever be.

Do you suggest making a public ledger on an alt coin for a bank ledger? I do not think the bitcoin network can be extended as a bank ledger in its current state, except if the banks simply maintain bitcoin wallets. This has to do only with the nature of the blockchain. I could see this existing in an altcoin or sidechain specially designed for this
The BankCoin - surprised nobody made an alt with this name yet - or did they? If they didn't they probably will now that it has been mentioned On another note, I thought banks (in the same country) were all connected. They are where I live. Unless the OP means internationally. Because if that is the case then I highly doubt that will ever happen.

My apology for the delay & lack of professionalism. You didn't provide enough information to verify ownership of this account as you were unable to sign addresses. However, given the information you provided I can send the equivalent balance to a new account for you. Please email us back with your new username. We get at least a dozen emails a day from users claiming to be other users and we often lose sight of emails such as yours where the account-holder is not able to provide very strong proof.
I strongly recommend setting a password, email and backup bitcoin address under profile of your new account so we can quickly & securely help you recover your account in the future.
Stunna, doesnt that every account in PD got its own unique deposit address ? and of course only those who could login into the account will know what the address is, so if someone know what the deposit address of that account it, I think that is a solid proof that he own that account Yeah, that is actually a good - valid point. He should be the only one that knows that deposit address and txid.
