1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Disney Coin [IDISNEY] on: October 14, 2014, 12:13:11 AM
What's next, googlecoin?

 NILIcoins
Art-Coins

NILI Coin [NILI] .  Coca-Cola Coin [ICOKE],  Disney Coin [IDISNEY],
Toyota Coin [ITOYOTA], eBay, Coin [IEBAY],, Twitter Coin [ITWITTER],
Apple Coin [IAPPLE], Beatles Coin [IBEATLES], USA Coin [IUSA]

The Coins will be issued on the Bitcoin 2.0 protocol in a limited addition.
Coins will become collectors item after initial distribution
.

NILIcoins are created to promote a competitive credit-provides ecosystem. A  decentralized monetary system based on
cryptocurrency which will employ production power, trade volume and social networks to create an independent coin market.
A market which will then have the power to offer a viable and sustainable alternative for the monopoly of  bank credit.

The grand vision of NILIcoins is to bypass the banking system by supplying industries and communities
with tools to capitalize directly on their commercial  power, and then utilize coin independence and
versatility to initiate the construction of a competitive credit industry.

The first step is to provide customized and ready to use coin packages which are fitted with all necessary
components to facilitate a seamless multi-coin clearance. Then to see through the creation of a platform
on which these coins can be lend as credit to the public.

The NILIcoins project itself was conceived as a result of the need to illustrate this concept in real terms
as well as to fund  the creation of a road map for the funding and development of these platforms.

Hi Armis,

I am a large holder of EMC2. I do not have the time to contribute but would like to give 50,000 coins to you to start a bounty for development. If other people also donate we could pay for specific jobs to be completed. Which address is appropriate for this?

Cheers

Nick

Nick, thank you for your pledge of support, it is most appreciated.

Our emergency project was the Block Explorer project, it was an emergency because the ones that were used for a long period of time no longer worked.   After we expressed our need for a new block explorer a massive (and record breaking) contribution of 200,00 EMC2 came in just before Oldminer's friend contributed a temporary block explorer.

We know our biggest development issue is currently unknown.   As such we are actively and aggressively seeking strategic partnership with various other coins, creating relationships with many contractors, and creating revenue streams all to make sure that we are well prepared for any issue that will come.

All of those resources will also help us to maintain the coin in such a way that is impressive inside and outside of the CC community.

The absolute most important need EMC2 has right now is a need for volunteers, we truly need people to volunteer.

I will try and volunteer time when I have some.

Nick thanks for your donation.  I noticed that you pointed it to the 'Discretionary Fund' I appreciate that greatly that fund enables us the most latitude and liquidity do whatever is necessary without question or pause.     Your donation has inspired me to create a space for people like yourself who gave to EMC2 in truly impressive ways.

1526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ★★ EBT Coin - Entropybit 100% PoS - Multipool - Bugfix version 4.0.3! ★★ on: October 13, 2014, 07:21:05 AM
I'm one of the new admins at EMC2, I'm here to offer your coin and community some assistance.   I'm not offering magic, I'm offering a responsible plan to stable redevelopment, it's slow but reliable.

Join EMC2 as a strategic partner to combine resources in an organized fashion to get the most bang out of our limited time, money, and energy.  We simply help one another in ways that we can, one may have time but no money, or energy but no time, or money but no time or energy, the point is you figure out what you have to offer and what you need to have, then work together to improve all involved.   It's likely that your coin needs coding, management, marketing, security, and/or more CC community recognition, some of those things EMC2 could help with immediately, some others may need to come from another strategic partner.

Our resources are also limited, but right now we are ready, willing, and able to help you, let me know if you want to join us as a strategic partner.

Is there any link to this?

thanks for your question, there is no link, this is a direct appeal to select coins that I believe had a good history filled with great potential that somehow got cut off at the knees before it could realize that potential.

Nevertheless I will draft a message at our forum then update this post with the link.

If you have any question feel free to ask here, there, or via pm.

So what are the implications? We NEED help right now

I know the coin needs help, that the need is aged and growing, and that many would like to see a solution.

Here's what I don't know: I don't know how many are willing to work towards fixing the coin, and I don't if they are willing to work together to set and achieve goals.

There are many ways to get this coin back on its feet, most of them require cooperative action.

If you have a community of 20 volunteers you could have this coin running smoothly in under a month.   If you have 5 really committed individuals willing to work tirelessly night and invest more money they could stablize the coin in about 3 weeks.

At this point the gleeming brilliance of hope that accompanies all new coins is gone, also gone is the prospect for 200 - 500% profits in a day or in a week.  The only practical hope for EBT is stable incremental growth which is all you need in a good investment portfolio.

Do you have a community of 20+ people who are willing to come together to form a EBT Foundation and vote in a board?  If so those directors could start to turn things around immediately.   Are you willing to help find 20 people to vote for for or against such action?

1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: October 11, 2014, 10:56:56 PM
Ripple is gaining value because of banks adopting it, but in long term I wouldn't feel comfortable with it. BTC has already succeeded, not as a mass adoption crypto, but rather as a storehouse of value, so I would go for bitcoin

that storehouse is leaking like a sieve
1529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: October 11, 2014, 09:23:39 PM
Sukrim, the whole Ripple thing is a semantic nightmare.

Saying 'X-R-P', or the 'native currency for the Ripple', or any of the other more technically correct terminology for XRP is impractical and unnecessary.  XRP is a code not a name the  creators of XRP, knew or should have known that would be an issue.  Well the market rectified the issue by naming XRP Ripple by consensus.

You said: "Who is an "Administrator" for Linux or Bitcoin? Ripple is a technology."  for all intents and purposes the Bitcoin foundation is the de facto admins for Bitcoin.   Unlike bitcoin  Ripple apparently has numerous employees tasked with managing "the technology", 'the  company', and /or 'the coin', I'm sure they could figure out who the admins are.

You said: "Gliss does not take orders (I hope)."  If that was the case why did you ask him numerous times to do or not do something?

Here again "the intent" is the driver, in this case you asked Gliss to do, or not do something, with no apparent authority.  For practical purposes if someone with actual authority made the same exact request of Gliss it would go outside of general respectful protocol to deny the request.

I didn't you asked, prayed, begged, pleaded, requested, ordered, demanded or whatever the petition was lacking power as well as popularity, that's why it failed.

BitJohn how do you determine which coins are suitable for pairing with LTC?
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: October 11, 2014, 07:12:58 PM
I saw you post positive things about XRP many times, I take I presume you are a proponent of the xrp platform, I send you one private message concerning said platform and you call it spam.  WTF, clearly you need to adjust your spam filter to "don't contact me if I don't contact you".

XRP != Ripple.
I like Ripple, I don't like XRP (or I'm at least indifferent about it) and I have no idea what your "EMC2" giveaway is about or what "EMC2" even is for the record.
Coin market cap identifies Ripple as XRP,  if that is incorrect why doesn't Ripple correct them?
I wrote to Gliss (owner of CMC) a few times, he doesn't seem to care

Cryptsy has done a deal with Ripple to pair XRP with over 100 CCs, what is XRP if not Ripple?

XRP = "ripples", Ripple = distributed/decentralized exchange.
Cryptsy has not done any deal with "Ripple" just as they didn't have to do deals with "Litecoin", "Dogecoin" or "Bitcoin" to use their currency/software.

Computing for Good was scrapped after people started hacking WCG accounts to point them towards the giveaway. If you want strategic partnerships, you can talk to Ripple Labs (the core developers of Ripple).

Thanks for that info.

Clearly from what you have described and for all intents and practical purposes XRP is Ripple.

If you are an administrator for Ripple, and have identified yourself as such I don't see why Gliss would not heed your order.

As for the Cryptsy/Ripple deal, it is far and away different from Cryptsy's other pairings,  http://www.prweb.com/releases/2014/10/prweb12231540.htm

"ForexMinute.com – ... Cryptsy ... is integrating with eSpend’s Ripple gateway technology, Cryptsy's CEO Paul Vernon said: “We have been wanting to get XRP on Cryptsy for a long time now,” he said. “The team at eSpend has made it easy and we look forward to working with them to bring in more of Ripple’s features.”

"features" like what you may say: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=481015.msg9120690#msg9120690

EMC2 is a cause-coin -- a cryptocurrency with a specific mission, 2.5% of mined coins is donated to Science; 2% of the mined coins to science research, education, or development; .5% of the mined coins is allocated to marketing of the coin; the funds are managed by the non-profit foundation www.einsteinium.org   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.0

There are many things that Ripple does that has impressed me, as one of the admins for EMC2 I want Einsteinium/EMC2 and Ripple/XRP to have a strategic partnership in various ways to forward our mission to provide funds for scientific research.   Because of the new deal with Ripple did with Cryptsy I did some research on Ripple and found a project that  impressed me greatly:

Ripple Labs is now official partner with the World Community Grid (WCG):

https://ripple.com/blog/world-community-grid-welcomes-ripple-labs-as-a-partner/

Do you know who WCG is? Remember SETI project... Basically this is the next step in evolution and CPU power is donated to research projects like analyzing aspects of the human genome, fighting HIV, dengue fever, muscular dystrophy, cancer, influenza, rice crop yields and clean energy.

If you are interested to join Ripple Labs team and to be the part of the next scientific breakthru, you can join here:

https://www.computingforgood.org/

Good thing is that you will earn XRP while doing something for the World.

All you need is a BOINC client and you connect all the machines you have, for example, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, mobile phones... etc and control them from the single web page. Every piece of technology you have in your home can mine Ripple XRP for you.

Cheers!

1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple or Bitcoin on: October 11, 2014, 02:25:56 PM
can anyone tell me which exchanges are actually accepting ripple?

and don't tell Bitstamp, because I don't want to go trough their verification process
Ripple itself is also an exchange...

Typically you don't need to trade XRP, unless you want to make markets - you can trade whatever you actually want to trade (e.g. BTCUSD or EURUSD or DOGXAU or...)

I saw you post positive things about XRP many times, I take I presume you are a proponent of the xrp platform, I send you one private message concerning said platform and you call it spam.  WTF, clearly you need to adjust your spam filter to "don't contact me if I don't contact you".

I was looking at Market Cap site yesterday and was surprised to see spaincoin so far down the list.

Are you still involved with the coin?
I make sure the network has some healthy nodes and I keep the block explorer up. The airdrop is over and it's now the community's turn to keep it going.

That's great, how did you prepare the community for their turn?   I ask because there seems to be so many communities that feel unprepared for what it is they must do, in fact many in various communities feel like they are thrown in the deep end of the pool with the order 'sink or swim'.

In addition to the 'nodes and the block explorer' you mentioned, if the coin should find itself in a rough patch do they know how to find you?  If you work on the coin in the future is it volunteer work or do you charge a fee?
